Welcome back to Tigers on Tap Episode 6: Kick Off the Season Part 2. In this episode, Trey and TJ give their full breakdown of the 2-deep depth chart from their point of view. There are a few positions that are pretty set in stone, such as the quarterback position with Seth Henigan and Ryan Glover as the 1 and 2, but there are also many positions where the starters are not yet named. Specifically, in the running back, wide receiver, and offensive line rooms. Trey and TJ both think that redshirt sophomore, Brandon Thomas, will get the nod as the starter against Mississippi State with Asa Martin as his backup. In their opinion Brandon Thomas offers the Tigers the full running back skill set and, if he can remain healthy, will be the overall best running back the Tigers can put out on the field. Both TJ and Trey believe that true freshman running back, Sutton Smith, will get quite a bit of touches in the backfield this year based on the glowing reviews from head coach Ryan Silverfield and offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey. The wide receiver's room is up in the air. Losing Calvin Austin III and Sean Dykes has placed a spotlight on the receivers' room as to who will be the player that will step up and fill the shoes left behind by Austin. Trey and TJ both believe that Eddie Lewis and Javon Ivory will be the wideouts that will start, but there is a plethora of guys that can step in for them when they need a break. The guys believe Markcayll Jones, Roc Taylor, Joseph Scates, and Kobe Drake will fill in admirably. To end the first segment, they break down the offensive line depth chart, along with the defense and special teams. In the second segment, Trey and TJ go game by game through the schedule and predict a win/loss record for the 2022 Tiger team. Listen in as they both go in great detail on why the Tigers will win or lose each game. To sum up their projected records, Trey has the Tigers going 9-3 on the year and 6-2 in the AAC. TJ has the Tigers going 8-4 overall and 5-3 in the AAC. About Tigers on Tap Tigers on Tap is a podcast for fans by fans. In this episode of Let Me Tell You, I talk about the Pac-12 North quarterbacks. There is not a clear cut number one but there are a bunch of talented ones for example, Bo Nix out of Oregon. Which quarterback has the best odds to become number one at the end of the season?
Tayo is honored to welcome Ryan Glover, founder of the Greenwood digital banking platform, to today's podcast. A veteran in the entrepreneurship space, and a strong believer in charity, Ryan believes that his ability to problem solve combined with his passion for the Black community has granted him success across such diverse career pursuits. With a unique and rather varied resume, he's used his experiences to found Greenwood, a digital banking platform for the Black community that seeks to mitigate the generational wealth gap. Taking obvious inspiration from the Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK in the ‘20s, he wants to encourage wealth circulation through this banking platform.Ryan argues that the key to solving the generational wealth gap is a conglomeration of kind, intelligent individuals who are willing to create and engage with institutions that have Black excellence at heart. That's why, he says, that he likes to surround himself with individuals smarter than him; after all, that's arguably the only way to improve. He goes on to discuss the inherent value in learning from others. In fact, he owes a lot of Greenwood's success and the platform's extensive waitlist to the hard work of others. He closes out this episode by reminding the audience that in following his dreams and giving back to his community, there were just as many downs as ups– if not more. So try not to get discouraged when things don't go according to plan - even the greats suffer from minor and major hiccups sometimes. This week we're joined by writer, director and cinematographer Ryan Glover! His latest film, the quietly haunting queer horror The Strings is playing on Shudder! This movie was Scarred for Life approved last year when it premiered at Salem Horror Fest and we're so happy that people are able to see it and that Ryan had time to sit down with us. We dig into his horror history, which Alien movie is his surprising second favorite, the days of Rent 7 at Blockbuster and the way the small budget led to some of The Strings' most haunting imagery. Then we dig into Alien Abduction: Incident in Lake County, the UPN made-for-TV remake of The McPherson Tape! We discuss the 90s interest in aliens, the way TV would market alien things as real (e.g., Alien Autopsy) and why Alien Abduction terrified Ryan growing up. We also discuss the surprising ways this movie set the tone for found footage films just a few years later...Follow Ryan on Twitter. Follow Mary Beth, Terry and the Podcast on Twitter. Ryan Glover is the co-founder and chairman of Greenwood bank, a new digital bank designed for Black and Latinx communities. Previously he served as the co-founder and chief executive at Noontime, a music publishing and production company, and also the co-founder and CEO at Bounce TV, a national broadcast network geared toward African-Americans. Ryan talks with Will Lucas about why Black banking efforts haven’t led to generational and transformative wealth for African Americans, and tips for successful partnerships - the kind that have led to his personal success.
Plus, broadcast executive Ryan Glover discusses the launch of Greenwood, a new Black-owned and operated digital banking platform. Glover, who serves as the chairman of Greenwood, talks with Rose about Greenwood's mission and vision. Also, from bridges to highways to Atlanta's streets, a new report from TRIP finds Georgia's transportation needs improvement.
Killer Mike has worked with Andrew Young and Ryan Glover to create Greenwood, a banking platform for our community. There is a lot to discuss here and I break it all down on Dr Boyce TV.
Ambassador Andrew Young, Mike "Killer Mike" Render and Ryan Glover have joined forces to build Greenwood. Greenwood has secured $3 million in seed funding from private investors as the first digital banking platform for Black and Latinx people and business owners. Greenwood seeks to provide banking services to communities who have not had access to or good relationships with banks.
In this episode, the good brothers get right into it as they discuss the news of rapper Killer Mike co-founding Greenwood Bank, a new way of banking and financial institution for Black and Latinx communities alongside the great Andrew Young and Ryan Glover. Mike asks the brothers a question in regards to the lack of trust of black people with black financial institutions and the brothers give their response and tips on how to avoid that mistrust. Tyrone then brings a topic conversation about taking your child out of school for a year to home school your child/children to teach them financial literacy. Each brother shared their take and provided their thought process behind it. HBCUs across America have had their annual homecomings canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the Thurgood Marshall College Fund decided to put on a event to fill the void and also to collect donations for all HBCUs and the brothers wanted to know will the event have the same turn out and support as a normal homecoming event would. Ty presents a situation he experienced which prompted him to ask the question to the brothers about facial hair in corporate America. They share their own experiences and provide tips on how to play the game to meet your ultimate end goal. Enjoy Episode 44. Listening is Learning!
