The flyers, associated with the Goyim Defense League, contain derogatory statements blaming Jewish people for various societal issues. The flyers have been distributed in multiple states, and incidents have been increasing in recent years. The community was disturbed by the flyers and reported them to the homeowner's association, private security, and local law enforcement. Rabbi Albert Slomovitz emphasized the need for unity and continued efforts to combat prejudice and hatred. The incident highlights the ongoing work required to promote understanding and tolerance in society..……... Read more about this at mdjonline.com Story 2: subdivision Cobb County commissioners have approved the rezoning for a new subdivision in unincorporated Austell. The 19.5-acre development by Drapac Investments will consist of 59 single-family detached houses, with a density of 3.24 units per acre. The original proposal included a mix of townhomes and single-family houses but was revised based on feedback from the community. The meeting saw no opposition from residents, as significant adjustments were made to address concerns. Stipulations were added, including a rental cap of no more than 10% and a requirement for at least 50% brick or stacked stone in the architectural design. The approval was unanimous. Story 3: hotel The Cobb Board of Commissioners has approved the construction of a seven-story, 128-room Element Hotel in the Town Center area of Cobb County. The hotel, a Marriott brand, will be located near the Town Center mall on Roberts Court, east of I-75. The proposal includes a two-story parking deck with 52 spaces and additional surface parking. The zoning variances granted by the commission include a reduction in required parking spaces and minimum lot size, as well as allowing a flat roof instead of a pitched one. The developer plans to include amenities such as a courtyard, pool, and fire pit. The approval was unanimous, with the condition to limit impervious surfaces to 85% of the land...….we'll be right back Break: ESOG– Dayco – Glover Park STORY 4: car wash A developer, Tommy's Express by Northgate, has withdrawn its request to build a car wash at the site of the historic Robert McAfee House in the Town Center area of Cobb County. The developer cited contractual and development issues as reasons for the withdrawal. The proposed split zoning arrangement, which would have allowed the car wash and the preservation of the house, was previously approved by the Cobb Planning Commission. Commissioner JoAnn Birrell expressed gratitude to the developer for their efforts and suggested ongoing efforts to preserve the house, either on-site or by moving it to a historic location. The future of the McAfee House remains uncertain, but preservation groups continue their commitment to saving it despite the challenges involved. STORY 5: Scoot Former Kell High School basketball standout, Scoot Henderson, is expected to be a top pick in the NBA draft. At just 19 years old, Henderson is projected to be chosen either as the second overall pick by the Charlotte Hornets or the third overall pick by the Portland Trail Blazers. He may compete for minutes in a backup role behind established guards like Damian Lillard or LaMelo Ball. Henderson reclassified to the class of 2021, becoming the youngest professional basketball player in U.S. history. He has impressed with his talent, work ethic, and competitive spirit. The three-star rising senior made the announcement on social media, choosing Memphis over 18 other programs. During his junior season, Bodiford amassed impressive stats with 1,582 rushing yards, 20 touchdowns, and 14 catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns. He had several standout games, including a 265-yard, four-touchdown performance against Kennesaw Mountain. Welcome back to Tigers on Tap Episode 6: Kick Off the Season Part 2. In this episode, Trey and TJ give their full breakdown of the 2-deep depth chart from their point of view. There are a few positions that are pretty set in stone, such as the quarterback position with Seth Henigan and Ryan Glover as the 1 and 2, but there are also many positions where the starters are not yet named. Specifically, in the running back, wide receiver, and offensive line rooms. Trey and TJ both think that redshirt sophomore, Brandon Thomas, will get the nod as the starter against Mississippi State with Asa Martin as his backup. In their opinion Brandon Thomas offers the Tigers the full running back skill set and, if he can remain healthy, will be the overall best running back the Tigers can put out on the field. Both TJ and Trey believe that true freshman running back, Sutton Smith, will get quite a bit of touches in the backfield this year based on the glowing reviews from head coach Ryan Silverfield and offensive coordinator Tim Cramsey. The wide receiver's room is up in the air. Losing Calvin Austin III and Sean Dykes has placed a spotlight on the receivers' room as to who will be the player that will step up and fill the shoes left behind by Austin. Trey and TJ both believe that Eddie Lewis and Javon Ivory will be the wideouts that will start, but there is a plethora of guys that can step in for them when they need a break. The guys believe Markcayll Jones, Roc Taylor, Joseph Scates, and Kobe Drake will fill in admirably. To end the first segment, they break down the offensive line depth chart, along with the defense and special teams. In the second segment, Trey and TJ go game by game through the schedule and predict a win/loss record for the 2022 Tiger team. "Teaching is a great and noble profession and the sheer joy of changing lives and getting children to believe in themselves is magic. Great teachers are alchemists and have the power to turn something normal into gold." So says Richard Sutton-Smith. And he should know. He's had six primary headships, was a national leader of education and set up one of the first Teaching School Alliances in the country. He was, briefly, an Ofsted inspector but hated it, and he was also head of school improvement for a local authority. He speaks with authority and passion about his lifetime in education. It's compelling listening. In this podcast we discuss … How leaders have to empower staff to try things out without fear of failure and how this is particularly important for inexperienced teachers, because you don't get greatness in anything without letting people fail. The importance of balance between very exciting learning experiences and the more mundane practice of knowledge and skills that are also essential for great learning. Having to chase a runaway child across a building site with the school's headteacher (who was wearing his brand new blue, wool suit) and having to rescue him from the muddiest of puddles during the chase. Having a conversation with the deputy head in his first year of teaching about planning. She told Richard she thought she could teach his class for 2 days without doing any planning and still provide great learning opportunities for his children. Then she said ... "But you can't Richard, and I would like to say that your planning is what we call in education a bit crap!" What answer you should and should not give if you are ever called in to the Headteacher's office during your training. QUARK. Not a secret sect, but the key elements for teaching effective lessons. The importance of having an agreed approach for working with parents, especially those who may be upset or annoyed, so teachers are absolutely clear about how to conduct the discussion. How the burdensome scrutineers (Ofsted) create a tyranny of orthodoxy that schools feel compelled to follow and how striving for an outstanding grade leads schools to try to get everything in for Ofsted, whether it matters or not. When Richard inspected a school in a hugely deprived area and the lead inspector told him before going in that the school had special measures written all over it, which was the judgement she reached. During the inspection one child told Richard that, “This school tells you that you can be anything you want to be. This school is an opportunity school.” Sadly, the children's views were not taken into account. It was his last inspection. Always having a beginners mind. The search is the point, the flailing around is the point, the process is the point. So taking time to learn to become a great teacher is the point. Find a school that supports your aspirations, beliefs, ethos and culture. When you find it, buy in to it, commit to it and add to it. If your current school is not a good fit, look for another because there are plenty of schools around where alchemy is going on, so find the right one for you. Happy Christmas everyone! Another high school player jumps on for Episode 11 as Sutton Smith joined us after recently receiving his 1st Division offer from Navy. Smith is a player who I first watched when he was in 7th grade and he has developed a reputation as one of the best true point guards in Georgia. He gave us details on receiving the offer from Navy, the variety of things he brings to a team, what it's like being a high-academic prospect, and more. Smith is an extremely bright, mature kid who has done great things in each of his 2 seasons at Denmark so far.

Bowl games have been out since Sunday, but we took the time to digest the five MAC bowl games and see how we ought to feel about them. Typically, the MAC is pretty bad in these events, so it's easy to understand why we ended up being so pessimistic for the most part. When we think of play, what usually emerges are signs of childhood: playgrounds, kids running around, perhaps a cape, lego or magic wand thrown in for good measure. But here’s the thing, adults can - and need! - play, too. In this episode Sharon explores some of the research behind why play is important, leveraging the lessons of the great scientist and play advocate Stuart Brown.
