I'm stoked to bring you my latest chat with Eric House fresh off his finish at the Atlas Mountain Race in Morocco. After being laid off from his job in September he decided to go full send on bikepacking and has an epic 2025 planned. Probably most notably, he'll be doing all three of the Nelson Tree's Mountain Race series on a singlespeed. Something no ones ever done before! We talk with the founder of the Missing TX 40 Project in an archival interview and give compelling information about a serial killer that has been in the area for decades that is serving time for copping a plea to being involved with a murder victim found in a barrel on his property. Tonight's guest has been interested in the Sasquatch phenomenon for a long time. Due to his interest in learning as much as he could about them, he decided to create a Facebook group that's Bigfoot-specific. So, he created the East Texas Bigfoot Research Organization Facebook Group. Not long after he had created the group, he noticed that several members had mentioned having encounters in the Sam Houston National Forest. Wanting to try his hand at having an encounter of his own, he decided to go to the Sam Houston, in June of 2020, with a few of the members from his group. As fate would have it, he wound up having a sighting, a few miles west of Stubblefield Lake Campground, in the Sam Houston. We got invited to do a joint investigation with another group of Bigfoot researchers at the Sam Houston National Forest. Amanda and I talk about or Bigfoot investigation and the things we experienced. We had a lot of strange things happen on our investigation we couldn't explain. The guys from the other group also saw a bigfoot and so did I. This is part of an ongoing Bigfoot expedition.

He is H. like that's how huge we're talking huge Disney fans so they are running around the park there's nobody there I keep telling everybody this is the time to be traveling if you're relatively healthy you know how to put on a mask I know. A lot of people on Facebook thinks this is a big virus is not real and I'm like look you just put a mask on. Do you travel around the world it's great Sir robin Catherine I think they have a Disney trip planned like every other month so they're just gonna keep going because there's nobody there's nobody there. Perfect time to go. What is the perfect time to buy real estate when nobody's buying of course that's not true that's not gonna be true for probably close to another decade. The second best time to buy real estate was yesterday and the third best time to buy real states today. Why because real estate is getting really expensive. Last week I highlighted article the price of lumber is up 250 percent since April. In fact those of you who do new construction know that you're framing packages have almost doubled in price. This is why we tell folks if you're gonna get into ground up new construction you got to be doing it 50 percent. All in below market. Causal still stuff like this happens all the time. We just had her came up Friday I was out driving around looking at some of our assets everything worked out fine we've got there's one property we have under contract they got that I know got some water in it the agent and the seller of both telling me it got no water in it I'm like dude I have pictures of the water line on the outside of the house. The R. V. park which is next door is under water. It got water in it so we're playing that little game right now with the seller. And their agent which is funny. But by and large everything worked out pretty well one thing I did notice I was down in Surfside if you guys get on my Facebook page you'll see the videos I took of Surfside they lost a lot of their dunes that front row dunes is just about gone. This is one of the risk you have when you buy for you know front row like on the beach housing. So I don't know if they're gonna rebuild those dunes I I don't know what they're what the plan is. They're gonna have to figure something out because inside of a decade those house a probably gone she don't just take a. My closest houses 3 rows back so I got a couple more storms and will be beach front no time left although my guess is they're just gonna build those dunes back but. A lot of the dunes got washed away. There are some reasons why I talked about that on my Facebook live video from Friday's you guys go take a look at that the suit I got done. At Surfside I drove up to Frankston Texas. Now I know all of you know exactly where that's at. Don't worry I didn't either. Frankston Texas is between Huntsville and Tyler. In the Piney woods if you guys aren't familiar with how Texas kind of broke up East Texas close you get to Louisiana it turns into what's called the Piney woods why they called pine woods because there's a lot of Piney woods there. Sam Houston National Forest is there it's a big Piney woods side of Texas. So we're playing a golf course there that actually had done these little rooms little bungalows on the course so this weekend was our fantasy football drafts every year there's 12 of us that travel around to the top 100 golf courses to play golf and draft our fantasy football teams. Both men were very experienced in the outdoors. At that point in Jerry's life, he didn't believe in the existence of cryptids like Dogmen. Chuck Schlabs is 47 years old residing in Oklahoma. Chuck got hooked on Bigfoot when he was 8 years old when he saw the film: Sasquatch. Legend of Bigfoot.  Chuck had his first sighting in November of 2015. In February 2016, he went on his first expedition in the Sam Houston National Forest. He has recorded lots of audio, has found rock and limb structures and has casted tracks. He has spent numerous hours in the woods and river bottoms near his home and goes out at every opportunity. He has had multiple sightings of the elusive creature. Chuck Schlabs is the host on the radio show on Cheyenne and Arapaho Radio called "Chasing the Beast." Just OK Bigfoot. In this podcast, host Jeffrey L. Littlejohn speaks with historian Zach Doleshal and student Jordan Martinek about their recent public history course, "Recovering New Harmony."To the immediate east of Huntsville, Texas, just north of Highway 190, lie the remains of Grant’s Colony, aka New Harmony. Named after George Washington Grant, an entrepreneur and landowner in Walker County, the settlement was a rare phenomenon in Reconstruction Era Texas. For it was an attempt by a white southerner of the planter class to implement the promise of racial integration and create a rationalized agricultural community. Entrenched cultural attitudes frustrated Grant’s attempt to recruit white laborers, however, as very few took him up on his offer of employment, housing, and education. Freed slaves, though, came to the settlement in significant numbers and created a vibrant community that lasted until the 1920s. When, after a slow demise, it became part of the Sam Houston National Forest in 1936, the colony's history and even its location were silenced by the past.

Gary Wiggins used to love exploring the Sam Houston National Forest, when he was younger. Without a second thought, he used to walk the area alone. Sometimes, at night.  In 1977, he had an encounter there that totally changed the way he looks at the place. Because of what he knows is out there, he won't camp in a tent or go into the woods when the sun isn't up.
