Let me walk you through how to set up your online trading platform. As a beginner, one of the most overwhelming parts of learning to be a trader are the platforms themselves. I totally understand! You open up an online trading platform and are bombarded by so many difference choices and tools. While I'm not here to say all those tools are worthless, I am willing to say they bring little value to those who are beginners. In fact, I would say they do way more harm than good due to the feelings of being overwhelmed. In this video I will show you five tools that you should use for your trading platform. As time passes you can get more advanced and add in more tools, but at the start, let's keep it simple. There are key skills that we as traders need to develop and the tools I talk about will allow you to utilize those skills as needed. Let's learn to keep things simple and setting up your online trading platform as I show you will ensure you do exactly that: keep it simple!
Monday, 24 April 2023 And on the Sabbath day we went out of the city to the riverside, where prayer was customarily made; and we sat down and spoke to the women who met there. Acts 16:13 In the previous verse, Luke noted the group's arrival in Philippi, saying that they “were staying in that city for some days.” He now begins to detail things that occurred during that time, saying, “And on the Sabbath day, It could be that there was a local synagogue and that these men went there as was the usual custom. Not being mentioned by Luke does not mean it didn't occur. Understanding that, Luke next says of this particular Sabbath, “we went out of the city.” In these words, is a very small change in some Greek texts – Pylēs – (city) gate. Poleōs – city. The meaning is unchanged because by going out of the city gate one goes out of the city. With that noted, it is also seen that Luke continues to include himself in the narrative, meaning that he and all the team went together “to the riverside.” As noted, there may have been a local synagogue and this visit to the river is coming after a visit to it. However, Charles Ellicott notes the following based on a variation in some Greek texts – “...where an oratory (i.e., a place of prayer) was established. The word, which was the Greek equivalent for the Hebrew ‘house of prayer' (Matthew 21:13), is used in this sense by Josephus ... and was current among the Jews at Rome. Where they had no synagogue, and in a military station like Philippi there was not likely to be one, the Jews frequented the river-banks, which made ablutions easy, and often succeeded in getting a piece of ground assigned for that purpose outside the walls of the city.” Whether this is simply a visit to a riverside or to a specific place, it was a place “where prayer was customarily made.” It is these words in the Greek that are again slightly different in some texts. Regardless of whether it was a specific place for prayer or a place to simply stop and pray, the fact that it is by a river is the main point. Of this, the Pulpit Commentary says – “The river is not the Strymon, which is a day's journey distant from Philippi, but probably a small stream called the Gangas or Gangites, which is crossed by the Via Eguatia, about a mile out of Philippi. The neighborhood of water, either near a stream or on the seashore, was usually preferred by the Jews as a place for prayer, as affording facility for ablutions.” It is at this place by a river, and which was set aside for prayer, that Luke says, “we sat down and spoke to the women who met there.” The Greek more literally reads, “having sat down, we were speaking to the women having gathered there.” They were gathered and then continued in their discourse for some time. Charles Ellicott provides a well-reasoned explanation for Luke's careful detail of this situation – “The fact that there were only women shows the almost entire absence of a Jewish population. Possibly, too, the decree of Claudius, expelling the Jews from Rome (Acts 18:2), was enforced, as stated above, in the colonia, which was as a part of Rome, and as Jewesses would not be likely to have settled there without their husbands or brothers, it is probable that the women whom St. Paul found assembled were, like Lydia, proselytes who desired to remain faithful to their new faith, even in the absence of any settled provision for their instruction. Women thus placed would naturally welcome the presence of strangers who, probably, wore the garb of a Rabbi, and who showed when they sat down (see Note on Acts 13:14) that they were about to preach. We note that here also the narrator speaks of himself as teaching. (See Note on Acts 16:10.)” Life application: Everything recorded in the Bible is given to tell us something about what God wants us to know. Sometimes, that even includes what is not said, such as referring to women but not to men as in this verse. If there was a synagogue, there was no fruit that came from a visit to it. If there was only this place of prayer, noting only the women tells us something else. Ellicott's analysis would make sense based on the situation in the Roman Empire at the time. We can't be dogmatic about what the Bible is silent on, but we are being told to focus on the details and consider them. This is what we should be doing as we read the Bible. Stop and ask “why” from time to time. Think about what is being said (or omitted). If you cannot think of any reason for a particular statement, then read some commentaries. There is usually a suitable answer or two that may help explain why things are recorded. Keep studying! The Bible is a treasure waiting to be uncovered with every page. Lord God, thank You for these delights to our minds that are found in Your word. With each verse, we have things that we can consider and then add to our ever-growing knowledge of Scripture. Help us to be faithful in our study and contemplation of this precious gift You have given to us! Amen.

See NOTE below. Very important!"Once again I write these things to give you courage so that you do not fear illnesses, even if they make you suffer for life. Since God is continuously present, why do you worry? For in Him we live and move. We are carried in His arms.""Since our sweet Jesus is so good, compassionate, and kind, why should you despair? We seek one small thing from Him, and He gives us so much. We ask for one beam of light, and He gives us Himself as all Light, Trust, and Love. So humble yourself and rest all your hope in Him."This letter, including his subsequent letters, shows us the heights of Orthodox spirituality as it relates to illness, fear, and death. Imagine what St. Joseph would say to us today when the sins of fear and rationalism abound and are justified, sins of justifying evil that good may come, even by the leaders of the Church. Let us follow the Saints, begging God for their faith, for they and those who follow them are the only true guides God has established for us. NOTE: In Letter 30 we read “Believe me, for I tell the truth: Ever since I became a monk, every time I got sick, I absolutely never took care of myself; nor did I let anyone care for my physical health, but I placed all my hope in the unmercenary Physician.” A footnote here reads, “The Elder later modified his opinion of health care, as is evident in his 49th Letter. In Letter 49 we read, “Three times they stayed up all night thinking that I would die. They called everyone to come to my side. I bid them farewell for the last time. They cried by my side day and night. Finally, I recovered once again. They sent me a special medicine, and it, after God, healed me. I hadn't eaten for forty days. When I took the medicine, I ate, slept, and got better. Glory to Thee, O God! I began to move somewhat and to write again…. Courage! It's not just you. There are many others. Many people have come to me, and with prayer and fasting they were healed. But now, the Lord doesn't hear me, so that I learn about medicine and the doctors and be lenient with others. I also read the letters of St. Nectarios, and I saw how much he, such a great saint, paid attention to the doctors and medicines! I am just a poor ascetic who has grown old in the wilderness, and I wanted to heal only through faith. But now I, too, am learning that both medicines and grace are necessary. So now I shall say like the saint, “See to it that you get well.” Fix your nerves in any way you can, and you will find your prayer and peace again.” How instructive! We see a great saint adjusting his stance according to God's will. He, like St. Basil the Great so beautifully taught (see recording on this channel), “both medicines and grace are necessary.” Have faith in God above all, and do not spurn those things the He Himself have provided for us. Not all medicine is given to us by God. Nothing produced based on the murder of babies or other such evils will produce the eternal good that medicine exists for (see Romans 3:8). Trust God above all, endure suffering, neither rush to nor reject medicine, and do not be anxious, for “we are carried in His arms.”St. Joseph the Hesycast is one of the greatest ascetics of the 20th Century and spiritual father of St. Ephraim of Katounakia and Elder Ephraim of Philotheou and Arizona. Special Note: The end of the message unfortunately was lost. Sharon began to describe a contemplative experience she had at the retreat. There was a space to sit alone and allow a song to be played in the background, while waiting on the Lord. The song was a homeless man singing, "Jesus love never failed me yet". A professional musician took the recording of the homeless man and added a gorgeous string arrangement around the solitary voice, and made it a duet with Tom Waits powerful voice. When the audio ends, click on the link below and spend some time listening to the song. I left that part in the recording because I believe that it what makes it love, when one woman stands up for another! xoxo. I believe in me and I believe in YOU! Love, Jazz
Sickness among God’s People in the New Testament Although there is a close connection between faith and healing in the New Testament, we cannot automatically conclude that if a Christian is not healed it is because there is sin in their life or because they do not have enough faith. It is by no means as simple as that. Furthermore, that kind of teaching can lead to dangerous extremes like refusal to see a doctor when we are seriously ill. For example, any doctrine that teaches that God has guaranteed healing to us as Christians if only we will claim it by faith implies that it is unnecessary (and perhaps wrong) for Christians to resort to medical assistance when sick[1]. However, this is not a position adopted by the writers of the New Testament which, despite the many miraculous healings that are recorded, also makes reference to Christians who were sick and who did not find immediate supernatural healing. These include: Paul Trophimus Epaphroditus Timothy. We will consider each of these in turn, before turning to the case of some of the Corinthians, who were sick because of their sin. The Weakness and Thorn in Paul's Flesh In Galatians 4:13 Paul says, As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you. The Greek words translated as illness here literally mean a weakness in the flesh. This is similar to, though not the same as, the phrase a thorn in my flesh which he uses in 2 Corinthians 12:7. Although at first sight it is tempting to assume that these two expressions refer to the same thing, we certainly can not be sure, so we will deal with each separately. Paul’s illness (Galatians 4:13) Most commentators agree that Paul's ‘weakness’ was a sickness although there is little agreement as to what that sickness was[2]. Others, however, understand Paul's weakness to have resulted from the persecutions described in Acts 14:19ff[3]. But even if Paul's persecutions are seen as the cause of his weakness, that does not preclude the possibility that the weakness was a sickness. Severe persecution such as Paul encountered could certainly lead to sickness. This possibility is acknowledged by Longenecker who suggests that: Perhaps that illness was a result of one or more of the afflictions mentioned in 2 Corinthians 11:23-25; frequent imprisonments, severe floggings...[4]. But whatever the cause of Paul's weakness might have been, its effects were undeniably physical as the use of the word flesh in this context clearly indicates[5]. Clearly either interpretation would fit the context and it would be unwise to be dogmatic as to the precise nature of that weakness or sickness. In short, we cannot be sure that it was a sickness rather than a weakness (or vice versa). But does this matter? It does for those who teach that Jesus died for our sicknesses as well as our sins and claim by faith such ‘promises’ as Matthew 8:17 and 1 Peter 2:24[6]. I say this because the Greek word astheneia (weakness or illness) is used in both Matthew 8:17 and Galatians 4:13, so to claim that in Galatians astheneia refers to a weakness and not a sickness fails to resolve the difficulty, because in Matthew 8:17 Christ is said to have borne our astheneias! So if this verse is to be claimed as the advocates of the doctrine say that it should be claimed[7] we may well ask why Paul did not claim deliverance from his astheneia. We can only assume that he was ignorant of the doctrine! Paul’s thorn in the flesh (2 Corinthians 12:7) This verse is set in the context of Paul's defence of his apostleship against the claims of those he calls false apostles (11:13). He refers to his abundant labours and frequent persecutions (11:23-33) as evidence. In the opening verses of Chapter 12 Paul reluctantly (v.5) speaks of the visions and revelations (v.1) he has received and informs his readers that it is because of these that he has been given a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan, to keep him from being excessively exalted (v.7). But how is this thorn to be understood? Was it, or was it not, a sickness? Paul’s Thorn - Not a sickness The view that Paul’s thorn was not a sickness is backed up by four facts: The phrase messenger of Satan could well refer to a person since, as Martin has pointed out[8], it appears that Paul does not use the Greek word aggelos (messenger) except to refer to a person. The thorn may well be rightly understood to be personal on the grounds that Chapters 10-13 describe Paul's fight against his adversaries. The use of the Greek word kolaphizein (torment) may be taken to refer to beating about the head. In the Septuagint the Greek word skolops (thorn) is associated with opponents of Israel (Numbers 33:55, Ezekiel 23:24). Paul’s Thorn - Possibly a sickness Despite this evidence, however, the view that Paul's thorn was a sickness should not be entirely discounted, for the following reasons: Satan is associated with illness in biblical tradition (Job 2:5, Luke13:16) and it does not seem inappropriate for a sickness to be described as a messenger of Satan. Not all the difficulties Paul faces in chapters 10-13 need to have been inflicted by personal agency[9], and therefore the thorn need not be understood to be a person. Indeed, it is questionable whether Paul would have asked the Lord to take it away (12:8) if the thorn referred to human opposition[10]. But all this is extremely inconclusive and as Martin comments, “The exact meaning of the thorn remains elusive. No one has ever yet given an interpretation that is generally accepted”[11]. Yet this uncertainty does not mean that nothing may be learned from the passage. It could be that our uncertainty about the thorn is providential as it leaves open a wider field of application to our personal needs[12]. Paul's thorn clearly represents suffering in some shape or form and, whatever its precise nature, there are lessons to be learned that may well be of value to Christians in circumstances far different from Paul's and yet undergoing a form of suffering for which the lessons of Paul's thorn may seem entirely appropriate. Thus even if Paul's thorn was not a sickness – and in my view, on balance, it probably was not – the principles taught in the passage may certainly be applied in cases where a Christian’s sickness has not been healed in response to persistent and believing prayer. But such a position is unthinkable for those who hold that healing from sickness may always be immediately claimed because it is in the atonement. Here, as with the passage in Galatians 4:13, it is vital for those who hold that view that Paul be shown not to have been sick. Yet once again[13] the problem lies in Paul’s use of astheneia, for if Christ has really carried our astheneias (Matthew 8:17) how can Paul say that he glories in them (2 Corinthians 12:9)? Trophimus, Epaphroditus, and Timothy The evidence for the sickness of Trophimus, Epaphroditus and Timothy is very easily provided. 2 Timothy 4:20 tells us that Paul left Trophimus ill at Miletus. Philippians 2:27 reveals that Epaphroditus had been extremely ill, indeed he had nearly died, but the Lord had mercy on him. 1 Timothy 5:23 refers to Timothy's frequent illnesses and recommends the taking of a little wine as a remedy. Epaphroditus The passage in Philippians 2:25-30 shows us, first of all, that Epaphroditus was a highly respected servant of the Lord. There is certainly no suggestion that there was sin in his life or that he was lacking in faith! Paul describes him as my brother, fellow worker and fellow soldier, who is also your messenger (v.25). He tells the Philippians to welcome him in the Lord with great joy and honour men like him (v.29). This was because he had risked his life for the work of Christ and had almost died (v. 30). Yet the passage makes it abundantly clear that this outstanding servant of the Lord became very sick – even to the point of death (Philippians 2:27). Of course, Epaphroditus was healed. But the words But God had mercy on him (v.27) are very significant. Far from implying that Epaphroditus claimed his healing, these words clearly indicate that the source of his healing was God’s gracious mercy. Nothing else is said about what caused the healing. There is no suggestion that Paul, whose miracle-working power is well known both from the Book of Acts and from passages like Romans 15:18-20, could command his friend’s recovery. There is no mention of faith, or prayer, or the laying on of hands, or the anointing with oil. Rather, Paul views Epaphroditus’s recovery as the direct merciful intervention of God. Furthermore, it is significant that Epaphroditus was not healed immediately. Yet, if getting healed were as simple as claiming it by faith, why didn’t Paul command his healing straightaway, or why didn’t Epaphroditus himself rise up in faith the moment he first got sick? Of course there is no easy answer to such questions, but what is clear from the case of Epaphroditus is that good Christians can get seriously ill and that they are not always healed immediately. Trophimus 2 Timothy 4:20 simply states that Paul left Trophimus at Miletus sick. But if healing is readily available and may be claimed by faith in the ‘promise’ that Christ has already carried our sicknesses, then why didn’t Trophimus claim it? Surely if Paul had believed such a doctrine, Timothy, as one of his companions, would have known about it too? Yet it appears that he did not, for Paul left him at Miletus sick. Some have suggested that perhaps Trophimus himself was to blame for his illness or simply lacked faith for healing[14]. But this is an entirely unwarranted assumption! As Donald Gee pointed out: Those who want, somehow or other, to fit in this verse about the illness of Trophimus with their own doctrines of divine healing are tempted to assert that he MUST have failed somewhere. But that is the worst possible way of interpreting the Scriptures. There is nothing whatever, in the statement, or in its context, to suggest anything spiritually or morally wrong about Trophimus[15]. And the alternative explanation, that Trophimus may have been healed later (with the corollary that not all healings are instantaneous)[16] really fares no better. First, there is no statement that Trophimus was healed later, and secondly, the defence that not all healings are instantaneous really will not do. If sickness has really already been carried by Christ and healing may, therefore, be claimed by faith immediately[17], there should be no need for any delayed healings! Thus the simple brief statement that Paul left Trophimus sick at Miletus implies that neither Trophimus nor Paul could demand his healing. Indeed, according to Paul, healing like other spiritual gifts is as the Spirit himself determines (1 Cor.12:8-11). Timothy Paul's inability to use his healing gifts whenever he chose is also made clear in his recommendation that Timothy take a little wine for the sake of his stomach and his frequent illnesses (1 Timothy 5:23). As with Trophimus, if the illness were Timothy’s fault we might have expected Paul to say so and to encourage him to rectify the matter accordingly. Instead he offers a medicinal solution. If Paul had believed that healing could always be claimed by faith, why did he not encourage Timothy to do so? But it is perfectly clear that Paul neither believed nor taught any such doctrine! In considering the cases of Paul, Trophimus, Epaphroditus, and Timothy, therefore, we have shown that: Highly respected servants of God may become sick – sometimes seriously Sickness is not always caused by lack of faith or sin Healing is not always immediate Although we firmly believe in God’s power and willingness to heal, it is not always possible to claim healing[18]. [1]See Thesis pp.14-18, 21, 24. Cf. pp.38-44, 81-84. [2] Suggestions include malaria, epilepsy, and poor eyesight. See Note 10 on p 271 of Thesis. [3] E.g. [17]See, for example, my quotation from Copeland on pp. 1-2 of Thesis. [18] As I have already suggested, we need, like Jesus, to know what the Father is doing. It is only when we are submitted to his authority and hearing from him, that we can speak with his authority and in his name claim or command healing.

What do artisanal cheese and maple syrup have in common? In North America, and elsewhere too, they’re likely to bring to mind the state of Vermont, which produces more of both than anywhere else. They’re also the research focus of Amy Trubek at the University of Vermont, a trained chef and cultural anthropologist. Trubek gave one of the keynote speeches at the recent Perugia Food Conference, saying that terroir – which she translates as the taste of place – combines two elements. There is the taste itself, which when people talk about it with one another becomes a social experience that, she said, lends meaning to eating and drinking. And it is “a story we tell to assure that our food and drink emerges from natural environments and conditions.” Vermont cheese, at least the lovingly crafted artisanal kind, as much as maple syrup, reflects those concerns with natural environments and conditions. In our interview, we didn’t dwell too much on the scientific research underpinning Amy Trubek’s ideas. I found the idea that simply knowing the personal story of a cheese – who makes it, where, why – can influence how you respond to it fascinating. Taste, surely, is physiological. How would the story affect that? But it does. In one study of four different cheeses, people heard either a generic story about that cheese category, taken “from dairy science manuals,” or “socially and contextually relevant production information”. No matter how much they actually liked the cheese, or their “foodiness” on an established scale, people who had been told personal stories about the cheesemakers liked the cheese more than those told about the cheese alone. (See Note 3 below.) What’s more, according to Rachel DiStefano, who did a Master’s thesis with Amy Trubek, cheesemongers are vital allies in telling the stories and thus helping consumers to value artisanal cheeses. By contrast, terroir for maple syrup does seem to be less about personal stories and more about the soils the trees are in and the details of turning sap into syrup. Trubek has worked with a large, multidisciplinary team to create new standards and vocabulary that take discussions well beyond “sweet”. And yes, there is some evidence that soil does affect taste: [S]yrup produced from trees on limestone bedrock had the highest quantities of copper, magnesium, calcium and silica, which scientists hypothesized had a role in the taste. Shale syrups came in second in all of these substances, followed by schist. A final thought: Amy Trubek’s throwaway remark about fake maple flavour sent me down an internet rabbit hole that in the end proved surprisingly productive. Notes The 2nd Perugia Food Conference Of Places and Tastes: Terroir, Locality, and the Negotiation of Gastro-cultural Boundaries took place from 5–8 June 2014. It was organized by the Food Studies Program of the Umbra Institute. Sign photograph by Katherine Martinelli. Consumer sensory perception of cheese depends on context: A study using comment analysis and linear mixed models. Rachel DiStefano has written about her field work, behind the counter of a specialist cheese shop in Cambridge, Ma. Also, there are severities ranging from moderate to extreme … and some, life threatening. Many people suffer for years with a condition that could have been taken care of in a short time … and some, instantly. God is the Healer and the Creator – and by virtue of this fact – He knows exactly what you need. There is nothing wrong with going to physicians or seeking medical help or advice. But what we should do is seek the LORD first to see what He wants us to do. He may want to heal us by His sovereign power, over a period of time, or instantaneously. _____________________________________________________________ HEALING FROM BACKPAIN~ A MIRACLE PODCAST PRODUCTION ~ MUSIC / INTRO There are many types, as well as causes of, back pain. There is neck pain, upper back pain, mid and lower back pain, and then the sacrum related coditions at the base of the spine. You have probably heard someone complain of sciatica which is caused by irritation ot the nerve roots that lead to the sciatic nerve coming out of the spinal cord in the lower back. A bulging or ruptured disc is usually the primary culprit is such a condition. However, there can be other conditions involved. Arthritis can cause bone spurs which can cause or exacerbate sciatica. Also, an injury can cause compression of the nerve roots. There are several other causes for sciatica, and the source of the irritation will usually dictate the treatment prescribed: physical therapy, medicine and sometimes surgery. Be very careful of exercise regimen with any type of back condtion, especially spinal related, as you could be aggravating the situation. Always check with your medical professional concerning any type of workouts, exercise and even stretching. CAUTION: There is a condition known as Cauda Equina Syndrome which you might think is sciatica; however, it is very dangerous and without a MIRACLE from God may require urgent surgical treatment. It's symptoms can be similar to sciatica, and causes can be: A severe ruptured disk in the lumbar area (the most common cause). Narrowing of the spinal canal (stenosis). A spinal lesion or tumor. A spinal infection, inflammation, hemorrhage, or fracture. A complication from a severe lumbar spine injury such as a car crash, fall, gunshot, or stabbing. A birth defect such as an abnormal connection between blood vessels. There are types of bone pain attributed to bone fusion or where the vertebrae grow over. One such conditon is known as Ankylosing Spondylitis (AS). It affects the spine with pain and stiffness from the neck down to the lower back and does not necessarily confine itself to older people; it happens most often to teenagers and men in their twenties, and is characterized by stiffness from the neck down to the lower back, and can result in a rigid spine. Back pain can be caused from injury, work, poor posture (sitting or standing), sports and recreation. But … the Good News is that YOU can be healed of back pain! You may be thinking … or saying … “I've had this condition for years!” Well, let me tell you, my friend, that Jesus, the Healer, has been healing for years! There are some practical things you can do to help your situation: 1. Exercise (check with a medical professional before starting an exercise or stretching regimen); 2. Take proper nutrition and supplements; 3. Get the required amount of sunshine (for Vitamin D); 4. Rest your body and your mind. 5. Take advantage of physical helps like the “Teeter HangUps” inversion table. This helps reverse the effects of gravity and disc compression. (Check with your medical professional before using.) The scope of this teaching is NOT to discuss specific types of therapy or treatments, but rather to present an alternative solution to problems that you or a loved one may be experiencing with back related issues. You can be healed today...NOW...by calling on the name of the LORD: Who forgives all your sins, and Who heals all your diseases [Psalm 103:3] The LORD's healing nature never changes. It is God's will to heal you! Remember the lady in the Bible who was bent over for 18 years? “And, behold, there was a woman which had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bowed together (bent over), and could not in anyway lift herself up. And when Jesus saw her, he called her to him, and said unto her, Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity. And he laid his hands on her: and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.” (Matthew 13:11-13) _____________ MY TESTIMONIES I am completely back pain FREE at this time in my life … and I have been on Planet Earth for quite a while! My advice to you – especially if you know the Great Physician, Yeshua HaMashiach (Jesus, the Messiah) – is: NEVER GIVE UP! I went for 13 years with terrible back pain. I don't know what caused it. I was a varsity wrestler in school, but I don't remember any happenings that would have caused (the devil's) pain. (I say “the devil's pain” because it was NOT my pain; it was pain the devil wanted me to have!) Also, I had been in NO serious accidents, not even small ones. By God's grace I have never had a broken bone in my lifetime. I have claimed the scripture for years (a prophetic one about Messiah Jesus' death on the cross) that says, “He keeps all his bones; not one of them is broken.” (Psalm 34:20) Here is how I was healed. My pain was so bad and so aggravating. I had been to a chiropractor years before and had learned or remembered how he had “fixed” my back to alleviate pain. So, I would lie on the floor and try to “fix” my back the way the chiropractor did. I was miserable, and it got worse and worse! I was addicted to”cracking” my back. I probably was compounding the situation. It was such a miserable condition … and, to make matters worse, at that time in my life I did NOT know about the healing power of Christ! Finally, I began to wonder if the situation was NOT a physical problem, but possibly a “spirit” problem; in other words, a “spirit of affliction” sent by the devil to plague me while I was trying to do God's work! To give you an idea of how bad the situation was, if I were in a business environment where I had never been before, I would look to see if the receptionist stepped out of the office so I could lie on the floor and “crack” my back. I was miserable! One day as I was on the floor ready to “crack” my back, the Holy Spirit spoke to me. He said, “Why don't you let me take care of that for you?!” Wow! I knew exactly what He meant. Instead of ME trying to fix the problem and compounding it each time I “cracked” my back, the Holy Spirit wanted to FIX it. It was such a temptation because when – and immediately after – I would “crack” my back, I would feel so much better … until it started hurting again! I really had to resist “cracking” my back … but realized at the same time, I didn't want to go through that all of my life. So … I said, “OK, Holy Spirit, I give this problem – this back condition – to You!” That was it, it was over. PRAISE GOD! That was many years ago. Another time, I experienced extreme pain in my upper back below my shoulder. It was not a spinal problem, but it would hurt so badly that I would cry. I asked God different times to either heal me or take me home to Heaven! I went to medical doctors, I went to specialists, I went to physical therapy … nothing worked. I even told two of the doctors I had that I asked the LORD, “Either heal me or take me to Heaven,” so they would know how bad the situation was. Nothing worked! Finally, one night while travelling in another area of the country, before I went to bed, I prayed to God and said, “Father, you can just send an Angel to touch me and I will be healed.” That night, while I was sleeping, I was awakened with a loud “POP” in my back where the problem had been. It was so loud it awakened me. And I was perfectly healed. I have never had that problem since, and never will, thank God … and thank the Holy Angel that God sent to touch me. Yes, “Touched by an Angel” has a special meaning to me! _____________ PRAISE is also an important remedy for back pain. 1. It lifts up and straightens the spinal column and relaxes it from a “stooped” condition. Learn to practice praise to God several times a day for at least 30 seconds. 2. God lives in the praise of His people. “But You are holy, O You that inhabits the praises of Israel.” (Psalm 22:3)3. The anointing breaks the yoke. Since God lives in the praise of His people, there is an anointing present with true praise, which can break an “assigned” attack on the body, mind or spirit. “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” (Isaiah 10:27)4. Praise brings victory. King Jehoshaphat and the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem won a large battle utilising praise. (Read 2 Chronicles Chapter 20, verses 1-30 in the Tanakh.) _____________ CHECK THIS OUT: An Egyptian friend of mine, Magdy Girgis, was a member of our Board of Directors. He worked for Hughes Aircraft as did several Christians who had been Baptized in the Holy Spirit, all of which spoke in tongues. They had Bible studies together every morning before work and also at luch time. One day a man named Warren Meisenbach, who worked in the Engineering Department, came to their Bible study at lunch. Warren was NOT a believer and he asked them, “What's this born again stuff you keep talking about?” Warren had been a “hunch back” for 15 years (like the lady in the Bible I discussed earlier who had been bent over 18 years). Warren received Christ as his Lord that day, and asked the men to lay hands on him for healing. Instantly … they could hear his back "cracking' like: POP, POP, POP. He was perfectly straightend in a normal position. (See Note #3 at bottom to listen to a podcast of this MIRACLE.) When he went home his wife was dumbfounded because he was not only “straightened” but smiling for the first time in years! Jesus is the Healer … the Great Physician. Will you let Him heal YOU? If you want to meet the Healer, Yeshua HaMashiach – Jesus the Anointed One – NOW is the time! Invite God’s Son, Yeshua, to come into your life by praying the following prayer: "Messiah Jesus, I know that you are The Great Physician. You loved me enough to shed your sinless blood and die for me on the cross stake that I might be healed. I know you are alive. Please forgive my sins, come into my life, and be my Master. Help me to live for you, and take me to Heaven when I die." _____________ I have selected three (2) books which will help you to know how to deal with back pain, and any type of pain – so you can live PAIN FREE and serve God – and enjoy life the way God wants you to. Here they are … just click on the image. _____________ ADDENDUM I have seen many people healed by the LORD of back pain, back conditions and paralysis. I have witnessed many people walking out of their wheel chairs. I was holding a three day seminar and I had asked the people present to join me in prayer and fasting for the last day as I was going to teach on healing. A man was present who had been in a wheel chair for nine years due to two conditions: 1. A large 18 wheel semi-tractor truck had run into his automobile and he had five breaks in his spine; 2. He had muscular dystrophy. During Holy Communion he walked out of his wheel chair and never went back! Two years later, he gave his testimony in a large Presbyterian church and hundreds of people fell out of their seats under the Power of the Holy Spirit. "Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that you may LIVE, and go in and POSSESS the land which the LORD God of your fathers gives you." [Deuteronomy 4:1] The Hebrew word for "live" in the above passage is "chayah" meaning "to keep alive, nourish, recover, repair, restore, and be whole." The Hebrew word for "possess" used above is "yarash" which means "to occupy by driving out previous tenants and possessing in their place, to seize, to inherit, to take possession." In the parable of the nobleman [Luke 19:13] Jesus alluded to the fact that we need to "occupy, or do business" until He returns again. We need to be good stewards of our resources: 1. What He has put into our hands (all that He has given us by birth, adoption, or assignment); 2. And, of our life and strength. The Greek word for "occupy" is "pragmateuomai" which means "to busy oneself, to trade." In other words, strive to be productive and successful while you are carrying out the Lord's business. Don't become inactive. Live a long life and succeed . . . take possession of the enemy's territory and rule it! (See “Note” at the end of these shownotes.) MUSIC This is one aspect of the ABUNDANT LIFE which the Messiah of Israel promised us: not only LIFE but FLOURISHING LIFE. Moses instructed the people of Israel, "Set your hearts unto all the words which I testify among you this day, which you shall command your children to observe and do, all the words of this law. For it is not a VAIN thing for you; because it [the Word of God] is your LIFE; and through this thing you shall PROLONG your days in the land, where you go over Jordan to POSSESS it." [Deuteronomy 32:46-47] The Hebrew word for "vain" above is "req" which means "futile." It is saying in the original Hebrew that the Word of God is "not empty or worthless" but it will . . . if you observe and do it . . . give you LONG LIFE and SUCCESS in driving out the enemy and POSSESSING his territory. Here's what you can count on: 1. Length of days; 2. Wholeness and nourishment; 3. Success; 4. Possession of the inheritance. Length of days, wholeness and nourishment, success, and possession of the inheritance are yours! In one of King David's Psalms he writes, "By this I know that You are well pleased with me, because my enemy does not triumph over me." [Psalm 41:11] MUSIC Scripture also tells us, "When a man's ways please the LORD, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him." [Proverbs 16:7] As God gives you success, and as you drive out the enemy and possess his land, people will many times be jealous of you. Sometimes these may be brethren in the faith who are jealous of you. The enemy of your soul will try many ways to oppress you and to destroy your HEALTH. If your health (mental, physical, or spiritual) is weakened you will not be able to fight strongly and you will not live a long life to keep administering the areas God has given you to possess. You must have BOTH success and a long life of wholeness in order to administer effectively the areas He gives you to possess. Unless God has chosen you to be a martyr, you must have health, length of days, and a long life to maximize the occupation of your victory! This is why you must not only LISTEN and OBSERVE the Word of the Lord, but you must DO His Word. Then you will LIVE and POSSESS the land . . . and you will PROLONG YOUR DAYS in the land you go to POSSESS. [Deuteronomy 4:1 and 32:46-47] Proverb 28:9 tells us, "One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer is abomination." MUSIC The great passage that sparked the Reformation in the time of Martin Luther was Habakkuk 2:4: "Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him; but the just shall LIVE by his FAITH." It is literally saying that the person whose soul is "swelled" or "presumptuous" is not "straight or right" . . . not "pleasant or prosperous." The root word for "LIVE" in this passage is the same Hebrew word "chayah" used in Deuteronomy 4:1 that we discussed above, and means "to keep alive, nourish, recover, repair, restore, and be whole." In other words, the person who does WHAT IS RIGHT will be continue to be nourished, restored, and whole by means of the FIRMNESS and CONSISTENCY of his faith: his fidelity and conscientiousness! Because of his solid belief he does the right thing! "A FAITHFUL man will abound with blessings, but he who hastens to be rich will not go unpunished." [Proverbs 28:20] The word for "faithful" here used is from the same root as the word for "faith" in Habakkuk 2:4. A man of firmness and stability through faith will have abundant blessings. Moses said, "I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing . . . choose LIFE so that you and your children may LIVE so that you may LOVE the LORD your God, that you may OBEY His voice, and that you may CLING to Him, for He is your LIFE and the LENGTH of your DAYS, and that you may dwell in the land . . ."
