Returning Guest Bartender, Chelsea Berlingieri, made the perfect Thanksgiving cocktail. Melody and Bugbee would have somehow ruined this simple drink and honey would have been everywhere. Named after Bugbee's hometown with it's 7 Squirrel Bridges, the Sticky Squirrel has warm apple cider with Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. Happy Thanksgiving! We are grateful for our drinking buddies! Recipe: Sticky Squirrel ● 4 parts Hot Apple Cider ● 1 1/2 parts Skrewball Whiskey ● Ground Cinnamon ● Sugar ● Honey ● Whole Cinnamon Sticks Preparation: Pour sugar and ground cinnamon onto a small plate. Dip the rim of the mug in the honey then into a cinnamon/sugar mixture. Heat apple cider in a pot over medium heat. Once at desired temperature pour into the mug of your choice. Add in Skrewball Whiskey and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Enjoy! Connecting with other women in the alcoholic beverage space is so exciting for me, and I can't wait for you to hear today's conversation with Brittany Merrill Yeng, the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. We talk all about how she launched this brand with her husband, her approach to scaling, and what it's like to build business relationships. Brittany shares how she's learned to articulate her vision and point of view, even when people around her have doubts. She has a rock-solid mindset that has kept her focused on the path forward and grounded in her beliefs that everything happens for a reason. Listen in to hear more about how Brittany runs one of the fastest-growing spirit companies! IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT: How Brittany convinced people that Skrewball was more than just another flavored whiskey Getting over the initial hurdles of finding distributors and getting into the beverage industry What Brittany would tell herself if she could go back to when she was first launching the business The best advice that she's received from other successful CEOs How Brittany and her husband's personalities and skill sets complement each other RESOURCES Thanks to Indeed for supporting Earn Your Happy. Yeng was one to watch as she took her husband's wacky idea of combining peanut butter and whiskey and turned it into a shelf-stable product and Hollywood favorite that reached national distribution in just one short year. An industry disruptor and a woman making waves in a male dominated industry, she is a highly educated woman juggling parenting while running a leading spirits company, creating a brand that goes beyond just whiskey. Skrewball is a lifestyle that is welcoming to all manner of weirdo, maverick and misfit that brings people together in a world of uncertainty. When Yeng isn't taking over the spirits industry one bottle at a time, she enjoys spending time with her daughters and getting off the grid while traveling to far remote places with her family.
Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager chat with Idina Menzel about her new clothing line, taking her son and his basketball team to see “Wicked” on Broadway and much more. Plus, Donna Farizan shares the family story behind Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. And, Hoda and Jenna are playing “Downton Abbey” trivia with two super fans and the film's stars Michelle Dockery and Elizabeth McGovern.

Tracy talks about Johnny Frank Garrett who was presumably wrongfully convicted of the horrific rape and murder of Sister Tadea Benz in Amarillo, Texas. Johnny Frank Garrett was sentenced to be executed in 1992 but before his death, he cursed those who contributed to his conviction and execution. The curse seemed to be effective because many people surrounding the case were met with unfortunate deaths. Tino was on hold with the IRS for over two hours, Serina had a breakdown, Nicasio's dreading a family event with his girl, and Matt gets defensive after a few drinks. LOL!Brought to you by Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. The official cocktail of the holiday season.
For today's show I virtually met up with Brittany Merrill-Yeng. She's the co-founder, along with her husband Steven, of Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. That is “screw” with k instead of a c. I wanted to talk to Brittany, in part, because Skrewball Whiskey is a local success story winning awards and rolling out nationwide, but also because of their Skrew Covid-19 and Skrew it forward charitable campaigns, and how being a mission driven business isn't just about writing a check, but ingraining the mission into their business. Exuding the bohemian irreverence of its Ocean Beach roots, Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey comes with its own warning: “a night with Skrewball is bound to get a little nutty.” The same could be said for the legal battle being waged over ownership of the locally crafted spirit. Created by husband-and-wife team Steve and Brittany Yeng, Skrewball is based on a signature peanut butter-and-whiskey shot that Steve concocted after opening his first restaurant, OB Noodle House. The shot was so popular that the couple decided to bottle it. But three people — including former Major League Baseball All-Star pitcher David “Boomer” Wells and local television host Noah Tafolla — have filed lawsuits in San Diego Superior Court alleging they were all promised a stake in the venture. The Yengs, in turn, have filed a cross-complaint of their own against Tafolla, calling him a “parasitic individual” who exploited his relationship with the couple to enrich himself. We are back after a short break and this week we are trying Skrewball Peanut Butter Whiskey. This is a flavored whiskey that Misty and Maleek brought back from their trip to San Diego Comic Con. More information about Skrewball can be found at caskmatespodcast.com/skrewball-peanut-butter. Afterwards we chat all about the flavored whiskey trend currently going on. The rise of flavored spirits seems to be growing over the last several years. We go through some of the pros and cons, and our opinions on them. Above all, thanks for listening and we will see you again next week. Music by The Passion HiFi
