C'est l'une des sagas les plus emblématiques du jeu vidéo, celle qui a créée un genre à elle toute seule et qui a permis entre autres à la Super Nintendo de se vendre comme des petits pains. Street Fighter, dont l'histoire n'a pas toujours été facile, c'est une saga quasi trentenaire qui a su traverser les âges en trouvant à chaque époque son public. Nous revenons ici sur le genèse du méconnu premier épisode, et plus longuement encore sur sa mythique suite et ses variantes, Street Fighter 2. Comment transforme-t-on un simple jeu de baston en une icône qui fait toujours régner sa loi sur un genre qu'elle a pour ainsi dire créé? Nous tenterons d'y répondre en décortiquant les épisodes Street Figher 1, les variantes de Street Fighter 2, d' Alpha et d'EX... Qu'est ce que ces opus ont apporté, et comment Capcom a résisté à la concurrence en s'adaptant à chaque fois aux coups portés à son bébé.
