On the final episode of 2020, Caught Listening continues it's "In Memoriam" series by remembering a larger than life figure that put an entire franchise on the map early in his career. Tom "The Franchise" Seaver is the New York Mets to a lot of fans and members of the organization and his legacy on the field is one that extends decades after his final pitch.Honoring "Tom Terrific" by discussing his impact on baseball and the Metropolitans is Neil Best, sports columnist for Newsday. He recounts watching Tom as a child and talks about how much he really helped legitimize a young franchise in a market dominated by the Yankees. Maybe most impressive about Seaver's legacy is how impactful he has been more than 30 years after retiring. Best explains why that is the case and just how important the California kid was to so many fans in New York.Heading in to 2021, be sure to search "Caught Listening by Public House Media" on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to be a part of our next episode. From January 4th 2018. A blizzard was pounding NY so Mickey couldn't make it out to our warehouse as planned, but the show went on. We held the interview through Skype and Mickey chat with us remotely from Citi Field. Thankfully our internet didn't crap out, and we had a nice little chat. Mickey was excited to get the job, and had a pretty optimistic outlook towards the year ahead. After a hot 11-1 start, the Mets ended up with a 77-85 record (good for 4th in the NL East) and 13 games behind the Braves. It's interesting to listen back to hear his answers now almost a year later. Mickey chats about things that eventually came true, like sending Matt Harvey to the bullpen. With Brodie Van Wagenen's hiring the coaching staff is getting shaken up for the 2019, but Mickey will remain the skip as they try to right the ship. The GM meetings are about to start out west, and so far BVW is saying all the right things to get fans on his side. We'll see how that pans out come April.... So without furher ado, here's Mickey Callaway on the Season 2 Episode 2 edition of Orange and Blue Thing. Stay tuned for season 3 of OABT in 2019! From an internship at WFAN to the full-time morning show position, Gregg Giannotti is an example of hustle, and deterimation. There was a mix up in the Mets HOF at Citi Field. Get to a voice mail question from "Rally Man" and more of the usual Mets talk. Grab an adult beverage and give us a listen. Co-hosted by Darren Meenan and Brian Erni, our episodes are taped live on Facebook each Thursday night at 6pm. We're a pretty visual show, so if you can, try to catch the live episode next week on Facebook.com/The7Line. For now give a listen and if you're in to it, share with your friends, subscribe and leave a review. LGM!

In this weeks edition our host Harper is joined by Darren Meenan, proprietor of The 7 Line brand and leader of the 'Army' of the same name. Darren takes us through his early years on his BMX, talks about where The 7 Line brand came from and has some bad news for smokers. As usual our Q&A has a backdrop of our castaways favourite tunes* that this week range from the Beatles to Slayer. Darren's business motto is "for the fans, by the fans" a bit like this podcast :) Please check out Darren's site here http://www.the7line.com/ *Please note that some of the song choices contain explicit lyrics. When I first started the podcast over a year ago, I knew that Darren Meenan of The 7 Line would have to one day be a guest on my show. I am thrilled that we made it happen. Darren talks his start as a Mets fan, the origins of The 7 Line brand, RA Dickey, Johan’s No Hitter and a whole lot of Blue & Orange in between. Learn more about The 7 Line at The7Line.com!
