With the help of Bach I will introduce and discuss aspects of music that are relatable to Architecture, particularly the visual experience of space, colour, and time. A Fugue is an example of how a composer uses the acoustic space and time to effectively broadcast an artistic message (in Bach's case, a religious one), tapping directly into our own imagination, inspiring contemplation. Here is the recording mentioned: J.S. Bach, Prelude and Fugue in Eb minor n. 8, BVW 853, from Well Tempered Klavier Book I, performed by Sviatoslav RichterWhere is the Music Podcast is the home of musical investigation. It is available on all major platforms:SPOTIFYAPPLEYOUTUBE TUNEIN Support Where is the Music Podcast through:PATREONAlberto L. Then in the third half of the show we spend too much time considering the BVW era and Jarrett successfully predicts the J.D. This morning’s service features a thoughtful message from Rev Mark on the topic of Welcome, and the anthem is In all His works by Gabriel Jackson The hymns this morning include Praise to the Lord, the Almighty and Who would true valour see. The service begins with the Prelude in G minor from the Eight Little Preludes and Fugues originally attributed to JS Bach. (BVW 558) which most scholars now believe were actually written by Johann Ludwig Krebs. We hope you will enjoy the service and will also listen to our afternoon podcast which will be available from 4:00.
So, we tried an experiment where we play some games and talk about the inner workings of a hero. In this episode, Royalite is trying out Muradin while Anne Elise coaches her. The game play recording doesn't work without music, so it was cut, and Anne Elise inserted some royalty free Bach (Cello Suite No.1 in G Major, BVW 1007). It sounded so classy, she just lets it play through the rest of the episode! Follow the show and the hosts on Twitter: @QueueForFun, @anne_elise, @Royalite. Before the Mets hired Luis Rojas, Brian and I talked the cheating scandal that captivated MLB and eventually made it's way to Queens as the Mets parted ways with Carlos Beltran last week. We discuss whether the Mets needed to part ways with him, who we thought should have been the next manager, how BVW comes off in all this, and whether this will affect the team in 2020. We also talk the Astros and how much of a black eye the sign stealing scandal has had on the game and how the team will be regarded going forward. We conclude by giving our biggest storylines of the offseason (Non sign-stealing related)
Today's word of the day is 'hippophile' and it's all about Madison Bumgarner (:06). The NFL should be absolutely furious with what transpired between the Jaguars and the NFLPA (3:21). So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Josh Gordon was suspended again so let's talk about the chances he got (11:07). A team actually claimed Janoris Jenkins (14:10). I can't believe it. Zack Wheeler is mad at the Mets, but I'm team BVW here (18:24). Nationals are looking to replace Anthony Rendon with Josh Donaldson (24:40). Review - Rocketman (28:15). I also talk my top 5 Elton John songs of all time. Urban Meyer is a master of negotiation and his first move was attending the Redskins game (32:33). Let's revisit NBA v. China and talk about money (37:40). Drew Brees set the passing TD record in Monday night's game against the Colts, but will he be able to hold off Tom Brady (41:43)? #waittosee
A Metsian Podcast returns and welcomes a favorite of ours, John Coppinger of Metstradamus! Well, any excitement from the honeymoon period of the Beltrán hire has been stripped away, as Carlos finds himself at the center of the Houston Astros sign-stealing scandal, with some reports saying he, along with AJ Hinch and Alex Cora, was a mastermind in the entire debacle. With the former two being coaches at the time, will much happen to the new Mets manager seeing he was only a player? BVW spoke at the GM meetings and the lawyer talk was in full swing. We'll "dissect" his chatter and attempt to look into the crystal ball of the hot stove...(luckily, we have our resident Metsian prophet joining us tonight...) With Pete Alonso and Jacob deGrom winning the Rookie of the Year and Cy Youn awards, respectively, we'll bask in the glow that are these two players. That plus MUCH MORE! We'll also look back at the players to wear number 38 in Mets history. So, join us at 8pm ET for the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!

Tracey Wilks of UKMetsOnline joins Ben and Darius to talk all things Mets, from their recent hot streak and playoff chances to Pete Alonso's Rookie of the Year candidacy, the masterful Jeff McNeil, and whether Brodie Van Wagenen is a genius or a lunatic (it's both).
The Mets just won their first road series since April 3rd. Yes, it's mid July. The boys are somehow just 6 games back in the wild card race, and some fans are still holding out hope for a miracle run. Robinson Cano is heating up, a million people are planning to storm Area 51 in September and Darren is all in on it, Doc Gooden is unfortunately in the news, BVW broke his silence "they came and got us", more confusion between Mickey his players and the media, the Bagel Boss guy is trying to stretch out his 15 minutes of fame, Pete Alonso is becoming a household name, Sports Illustrated released their version of Mets Bingo, and more on this weeks show. Spring Training is in full swing, and Brodie Van Wagenen joined the show from Hop Life Brewing Company down in Port Saint Lucie. Darren and BVW chat about a variety of topics like his Yoenis Cespedes expectations, a potential Tom Seaver statue, his social media presence, trading Kelenic, the Mets bullpen cart, David Wright's new role with the organization, and a few questions from twitter. Darren also caught up with Darryl Strawberry at the QBC at Katch in Astoria back in January. Always great to chat with Straw. Check back each week for new episodes throughout the baseball season. The moment Mets fans have all been waiting for has arrived! If it's February, that means the countdown to pitchers and catchers has ended and images of the early incarnation of the 2019 Mets, and GM Brodie Van Wagenen's first spring at the helm, have begun to pour in. At 8pm ET, the guys at a Metsian Podcast revel in the figurative sunshine while the cold continues to linger in the tristate. What is BVW looking for during his first spring? What kind of motivation do the Mets have to get a deal with Jacob deGrom prior to Opening Day with two years still till free agency? What kind of attention does Tim Tebow really deserve? Jeff McNeil to the outfield? Did Yoenis Cespedes see his shadow? Any other players we would bring into camp? Well...I guess that last one was a set up for whoever wants to hashtag #SignBryceHarper with both he and Machado still out there. Baseball, and METS baseball at that, is upon us. Are you ready? Join us for the first a Metsian Podcast of the spring LIVE at 8pm ET!

Twin Brothers From Different Mothers hosts Aaron Phillips and Neal Portnoy welcome the Big Valley Wrestling Tag Team Champs, Ricky Tenacious and Alexander Bravens to the show. Frebruary 10th is BVW's event at the Sahara Event Center. Our very own Hall of Famer, Aaron Phillips, will be making his "ring announcer" debut.
The hot stove is glowing bright orange as Brodie Van Wagenen shifts his off-season plan into high gear. In his first major transaction as general manager of the Mets, BVW creates headlines by securing slugging second baseman Robinson Cano and relief pitcher Edwin Diaz from the Seattle Mariners. Meanwhile, trade rumors involving Noah Syndergaard abound. Although unpleasant, there are also players unfortunately being caught in the shuffle to whom we must bid adieu. In the meantime, the Mets have added a bench coach, and in a very underrated move, signed Allard Baird, who previously worked with the Red Sox, to be assistant GM and vice president of player personnel and development. Times are a 'changing, folks. Sam and Mike are on it. A Metsian Podcast returns this evening to discuss these issues, and more. Please join Sam and Mike at 9pm (EST). As always, you're welcome to phone in and join the conversation @ 646-787-1919.

Gather around, Mets fans. It's time to kindle the Hot Stove on a Sunday night edition of a Metsian Podcast. As the annual General Managers Meetings end, so begins Brodie Van Wagenen's first off-season as baseball executive of the New York Mets. For the moment, change appears to be order of the day. Before heading out to Carlsbad, California, BVW handed out a few pink slips among the coaching staff. Upon his return, J.P. Ricciardi and the organization mutually agree to part ways. Sam, Rich, and Mike reconvene to discuss what other changes the new Mets general manager might (and should) have in store. Join them this evening at 8;00pm (EST), sharp. Of course, you're welcome to join the conversation. The number to call is 646-787-1919. #LGM

In Episode of 134 of For All You Kids Out There, Jeffrey and Jarrett chat about BVW's second week on the job, which has brought Martin Maldonado and Asdrubal Cabrera rumors. Not as exciting as the Manny Machado ones, IMO. In the second half of the show we are koined by Michael Baumann of The Ringer to delve further into the Brodie Van Wagenen hire. We also try to figure out exactly who will be catching for the Mariners. In the third half of the show we answer your correspondence on gnomes, bobbleheads, and the divide between media and the modern players.
From January 4th 2018. A blizzard was pounding NY so Mickey couldn't make it out to our warehouse as planned, but the show went on. We held the interview through Skype and Mickey chat with us remotely from Citi Field. Thankfully our internet didn't crap out, and we had a nice little chat. Mickey was excited to get the job, and had a pretty optimistic outlook towards the year ahead. After a hot 11-1 start, the Mets ended up with a 77-85 record (good for 4th in the NL East) and 13 games behind the Braves. It's interesting to listen back to hear his answers now almost a year later. Mickey chats about things that eventually came true, like sending Matt Harvey to the bullpen. With Brodie Van Wagenen's hiring the coaching staff is getting shaken up for the 2019, but Mickey will remain the skip as they try to right the ship. The GM meetings are about to start out west, and so far BVW is saying all the right things to get fans on his side. We'll see how that pans out come April.... So without furher ado, here's Mickey Callaway on the Season 2 Episode 2 edition of Orange and Blue Thing. Stay tuned for season 3 of OABT in 2019! In Episode 133 of For All You Kids Out There, there is actually some crumbs of offseason Mets news which we use to fill (checks watch) three hours of podcasting time. In the first half of the show we look at BVW's first week on the job, take a deep dive into what the Mets can do from an analytic standpoint, discuss the front office, coaching, and 40-man shake up, and wonder if there is a roster spot for Peter Alonso. In the second half of the show we target spots on the roster for the Mets offseason, but mostly just try to convince them to sign Manny Machado. In the third half of the show, we answer your correspondence and talk about UFC 230, PRIDE never die, and Crown Jewel.
A Metsian Podcast returns LIVE at 9pm ET to break down the hiring of former agent Brodie Van Wagenen as General Manager of the New York Mets! Some see it as a step in the right direction. BVW, as some are abbreviating, was very braggadocio during his presser, and appears confident in his potential as well as the teams. Still, there are some who see this as more of the same with Jeff Wilpon hiring someone he's close to and familiar with. We'll attempt to break it down from all angles and opinions involved. We'll also touch on the death of baseball icon Willie McCovey of the San Francisco Giants. So, join us at 9pm ET for the latest edition of A Metsian Podcast!

Topics we cover: • We introduce Jenny Boyd, a recent guest at Villa Cappelli • She wrote the book It’s Not Only Rock and Roll Click here to get a copy. • How Paul grew up with the music Jenny had a first-hand account of this music • How Jenny is a part of rock and roll nobility if you will • How music today doesn’t have the same social relevance as it did in the 60s and 70s • We wonder what has changed, why aren’t artist tapping into the zeitgeist like that used to • They really had no idea that it was going to be such an important time and that music would be such a big part of it. • The Beatles were like the first boy band • Jenny was married to Mick Fleetwood of Fleetwood Mac • How Jenny and Mick meet • Pattie Boyd is Jenny’s sister, who was married to George Harrison of the Beatles and later Eric Clapton • Jenny talks about how Pattie and George met • How Eric Clapton wooed Jenny away from George, writing Layla for her while Pattie and George were still together Here's the song on iTunes and below are the lyrics: [Verse 1] What will you do when you get lonely And nobody is waiting by your side? You have been running and hiding much too long You know it is just your foolish pride [Chorus] Layla, you’ve got me on my knees Layla, I am begging, darling, please Layla Darling, won't you ease my worried mind? [Verse 2] I tried to give you consolation When your old man had let you down Like a fool, I fell in love with you You turned my whole world upside down [Chorus] Layla, you’ve got me on my knees Layla, I am begging, darling, please Layla Darling, won't you ease my worried mind? [Verse 3] Let us make the best of the situation Before I finally go insane Please, don’t say we will never find a way And tell me all my love in vain [Chorus] Layla, you’ve got me on my knees Layla, I am begging, darling, please Layla Darling, won't you ease my worried mind? [Chorus] Layla, you’ve got me on my knees Layla, I am begging, darling, please Layla Darling, won't you ease my worried mind? [Chorus] Layla, you’ve got me on my knees Layla, I am begging, darling, please Layla Darling, won't you ease my worried mind? [Chorus] Layla, you’ve got me on my knees Layla, I am begging, darling, please Layla Darling, won't you ease my worried mind? • How Paul likes Bell Bottom Blues from the same album • The drive is very key for all the artists Jenny interviewed • They also had a sense of destiny. For example, Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash said he just knew they were going to be famous • Jenny went to San Fransisco in the 60s and had an “ah-ha” moment • When she moved to San Fransisco, they were all tapping into the zeitgeist • How the musicians hung out with royals and everyone was just equal • How Paul thinks pot had something to do with it • Paul’s memory of disc eaters • Paul’s story of when Rumors came out and smoking when his Mom was visiting • How the song Jennifer Juniper was written about Jenny by Donovan [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCtcXDCxh7w[/embed] "Jennifer Juniper" Jennifer Juniper, lives upon the hill Jennifer Juniper, sitting very still Is she sleeping? I don't think so Is she breathing? Yes, very low Whatcha doing, Jennifer, my love? Jennifer Juniper, rides a dappled mare Jennifer Juniper, lilacs in her hair Is she dreaming? Yes, I think so Is she pretty? Yes, ever so Whatcha doing, Jennifer, my love? I'm thinking of what it would be like if she loved me How just lately this happy song, it came along And I like to somehow try and tell you Jennifer Juniper, hair of golden flax Jennifer Juniper, longs for what she lacks Do you like her? Yes, I do, sir Would you love her? Yes, I would, sir Whatcha doing, Jennifer, my love? Jennifer Juniper Jennifer Juniper Jennifer Juniper • Jenny went to India with the Beatles • How the Beatles influenced people to start meditating • How they were met at the airport by Mia Farrow • How the Beatles would come up with songs on the roof of where they were staying and a lot of those songs ended up on The White Album • What the book is about, which is that we all have a creative potential • One common thread explored in the book is the “muse” • Abraham Maslow coined the term “peak experience” • How many of the artist had never talked about before where their creativity comes from • How some of the artists said if they didn’t write the inspiration down when they had it, say in bed, then they would later hear it and someone else had actually “picked it up” and written it down • How when the inspiration visits, it visits, and you have to answer the call at that moment • How Paul creates starting with a visual, and that is the middle of the story, then you create by writing going back to the start and then the end • How the artists see themselves as just the messengers • How Jenny interviewed 75 artists • How it sounds like a great Netflix series • How it would be hard to do a book like this now • How Jenny had a calling card when contacting the artists • How the bands would get so connected to each other that they would all start on the same wrong verse together • How runners can tap into the peak experience as well • Jenny was in love with Buddy Holly when she was young • Jenny talks about her experience when John Lennon died • We talk a little about Catcher in the Rye, a book Paul has never finished • How artistic expression can move us in so many ways • Jenny’s website is: http://www.thejennyboyd.com/ • Paul asks for some of Jenny’s favorite songs: “Things we said today” by the Beatles [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NItAlTsPuQg[/embed] "Things We Said Today" You say you will love me If I have to go You'll be thinking of me Somehow I will know Someday when I'm lonely Wishing you weren't so far away Then I will remember Things we said today You say you'll be mine, girl Till the end of time These days such a kind girl Seems so hard to find Someday when we're dreaming Deep in love, not a lot to say Then we will remember Things we said today Me, I'm just the lucky kind Love to hear you say that love is luck And though we may be blind Love is here to stay and that's enough To make you mine, girl Be the only one Love me all the time, girl We'll go on and on Someday when we're dreaming Deep in love, not a lot to say Then we will remember Things we said today Me, I'm just the lucky kind Love to hear you say that love is luck Though we may be blind Love is here to stay and that's enough To make you mine, girl Be the only one Love me all the time, girl We'll go on and on Someday when we're dreaming Deep in love, not a lot to say Then we will remember Things we said today “I put a spell on you” by Nina Simone [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ua2k52n_Bvw[/embed] "I Put A Spell On You" I put a spell on you 'Cause you're mine You better stop the things you do I ain't lyin' No I ain't lyin' You know I can't stand it You're runnin' around You know better daddy I can't stand it cause you put me down Yeah, Yeah I put a spell on you Because you're mine You're mine I love ya I love you I love you I love you anyhow And I don't care If you don't want me I'm yours right now You hear me I put a spell on you Because you're mine “Further on up the road” by Bobby Bland [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRZCdJ4n60Q[/embed] Further on up the road, someone gonna hurt you like you hurt me Further on up the road, someone gonna hurt you like you hurt me Further on up the road, baby you just wait and see You got to reap just what you sow, that old saying is true You got to reap just what you sow, that old saying is true Like you mistreat someone, someone's gonna mistreat you Now you're laughing pretty baby, someday you're gonna be crying Now you're laughing pretty baby, some, someday you're gonna be crying Further on up the road, you'll find out I wasn't lying Yeah, baby, further on up the road, baby, hmmm, you'll find out I wasn't lying Further on up the road, when you're all alone and blue Further on up the road, when you're all alone and blue You're gonna ask me to take you back baby, but I'll have somebody new Hmmm, baby, further on up the road Hmmm, baby, further on up the road Hmmm, you'll get yours “Landslide” by Stevie Nix [embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1sQ7cuYgjzw[/embed] "Landslide" I took my love, I took it down I climbed a mountain and I turned around And I saw my reflection in the snow-covered hills 'Till the landslide brought me down Oh, mirror in the sky, what is love? Federal regulators counted 99 cases of advanced black lung over a five-year period in the U.S. So why is it that hundreds of miners with the most serious stage of the disease are walking into clinics across Appalachia? That’s the question NPR’s Howard Berkes set out to answer last year. Howard ultimately found that the number of advanced black lung cases was at least 10 times the number generated by federal regulators. On this episode, Howard takes us through his reporting and explains how he found and counted cases the regulators missed. EPISODE NOTES: bit.ly/2uIxT04

This episode should have been about the merge and the face off between two of the season's most strategic players. Unfortunately, it was tainted by the most persistent and undesirable story line of the season. The quitter is finally gone. As several of you suggested back in the pre-season JABBIC shows, the downside to the BvW theme is you can end up with castaways that are only here to support their loved one and quickly lose interest in the game when their chances diminish or the game gets challenging. Kudos to Keith. Who would have predicted he would be a standout at this stage of the game? What did you think about Julie's choice to conceal food and her reasons for quitting? What did you think about how Jeff managed the quit? Who will Jon and Jaclyn side with now? Who will emerge in the majority alliance? What did you think of Missy's advice to Baylor? Who do you think is the most unlikely winner at this point in the game? Who do you think will be the next to go? For those playing in JSFL, will you choose a new USB? Responses on this season remain positive, and most are thrilled that it has been so consistent and surprising. Very few of us predicted this week's blindside. Support for Hayden and LauraM grew. The shine on Tyson dulled a bit, and most thought Ciera over played her hand. We are just two weeks from the finale and it is still possibly anyone's game. It looks like we can expect a strong finish, and for that we are all thankful! For each episode, we provide 3 podcasts: an episode recap, an interview with the castoff, and a chance for Survivor fans like yourself to sound off on what you saw and how you think the castaways are fairing in the game. Fifteen fans shared their thoughts on episode 11 and predictions for what we'll see next. We want to thank and acknowledge everyone who contributed to another great Listener Feedback show. (Between the Gospel reading and the address in today's service, we had a rendition with orchestra, choir and soloists of J.S. Bach's cantata BVW 105, "Lord, do not pass judgement on Your servant".) There are some things money can't buy - health, relationships, and eternal life. For these things there's God. Jesus pays the price of his life to secure our future. [ Organ/Choir - Pentecost 18 - Bach Cantata BWV 105 ]
Paul continues to explore the correct relationship between the Mosaic law and Gentile Christians in Galatians 3:10. By stating that "in Christ Jesus the blessing of Abraham [came] upon the Gentiles," he overturns the argument of the Judaizers (cf. 3:14). One must not let the Mosaic Law replace God's covenant with Abraham, for "Anything that comes afterward does not annul a covenant previously ratified by God, so as to make the promise void" (3:17). With this logic Paul advocates Covenantial Theology: God makes multiple covenants with His people over time to unfold His plan in stages, building block upon block; later covenants do not nullify prior covenants. Biblical Christians ought to contrast Paul's orthodoxy with the heterodox Dispensational Theology that arose in 19th Century Protestant circles and appears in the Scofield Reference Bible (1st ed. 1909). He continues, "Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the offspring should come to whom the promise was made" (3:19). The law can do the work of God by stirring up those who have faith to realize that they must rely on the promise of God. One should follow God's laws without acquiring a delusional attitude of self-righteousness. The law does not work against God's promises but serves as a custodian for the people of God until they come of age (cf. 3:24-29). God designed His people to mature and become "sons of God, through faith" in Christ Jesus (3:26). Christians who follow God's will from the heart are likely to produce works of faith from the heart. Baptism fundamentally changes one's soul so that "there is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave, nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus," though one's body and state in life are likely to remain the same (3:28). Further nourished by the gift of the Eucharist, God prepares his people to go into all the world and spread the gospel.
