Hour 1 We had another brutally boring football game last night between the Vikings and Bears. Boomer said it's because there have been 50 different starting quarterbacks this year. Even though we have been complaining about how bad the product has been, we are still watching. There's also a lack of hitting in practice which leads to poor play in the games. Boomer also said the majority of players coming in from college are not prepared for the pro game, particularly at quarterback. Even Patrick Mahomes sat for a year before he played. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with sound from last night's boring Monday night game. Rex Ryan said Brandon Staley should go back to Division III football. Gio wonders what Bill Cowher does with his free time and imagines him out clubbing in NYC. Joe Schoen talked to the media and didn't say much. Bill Simmons had a strange way to describe the Eagles season thus far. It involves Milton Berle. In the final segment of the hour, the Mets hired Scott Havens as President of Business Operations. They are going to try and build a casino over by Citi Field. Hour 2 Giants GM Joe Schoen met the media and he was asked so many questions about the draft even though they are still ‘in the hunt' and the draft is so far away. He was also questioned about allowing Leonard Williams to decide if he wanted to go to Seattle. How involved should NFL owners be in the job of the GM? A caller doesn't like the way the media is portraying Italians when it comes to Tommy DeVito. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the Vikings announcers reacting to the loss to the Bears. Joe Schoen met the media and said Daniel Jones is the quarterback when he's healthy but they still need another QB. Maggie Gray talked about Bills fans throwing dildos on the field and Jets fans changing T-I-*-S. Gio does a Jon Heyman impression. In the final segment of the hour, Sports Illustrated is being accused of using A-I to create fake authors and using fake headshots for the authors. Eddie found an old memo from Mark Chernoff back in 1999 about putting ‘Eat Me' as the screen saver. Hour 3 Would the Jets move on from Rob Saleh after this season? Probably not, because Aaron Rodgers seems to like him. Frank Reich was fired by the Panthers yesterday, the second straight year the Panthers fired a coach before he finished his first year. Callers wonder how Saleh survives after how bad he has been in his two years. A caller is upset at how Italians are being portrayed by the media with Tommy DeVito's success. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the boring Vikings/Bears game from last night as Joe Buck and Troy Aikman were thankful when it ended. Russell Westbrook got into it with a fan last night and talked to the media about it after the game. Jerry ran into Tony Paige at the Rutgers basketball game last night. Sonny Gray signed with the Cardinals and Erik Kratz claimed Larry Rothschild was the reason he wasn't good with the Yankees. In the final segment of the hour, we got a handwritten note from Luke, a young kid who came to visit us on the show a few weeks back. A caller who claims to be best friends with the DeVito family said it's been a great ride for the family. Hour 4 Gio's wife can't believe Al Roker has to do weather both in the morning and at night. Gio looked it up and he makes $10 million a year. Boomer wants a job like Jimbo Fisher, where he gets let go and still makes $76 million. Gio asked Al who's running the NY Rangers and Al said, ‘Gunther'. A caller said Tommy DeVito saved the Giants season, at least making it watchable. Boomer was in the bathroom and heard somebody wipe three times and he thought it was a lot. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and Boomer reads what Chat GPT said about him. Jerry starts with the Bears beating the Vikings in a boring MNF game. Mike McDaniel met with reporters and had fun with someone about the offensive line. Gio is in a Twitter fight with someone named Zach Braziller of the NY Post. He has had enough of the schmucks attacking WFAN. He called them ‘soapbox media a-holes'. The Moment of The Day involves Maggie Gray getting ‘dumped out' of her own show because of her salty language. In the final segment of the show, Boomer has his stat pack out with Bill Belichick info. We talked about Belichick's future with the Patriots and where he might go.

We also talked about Jim Gray and The Decision and how Gray is always in the mix with sports controversies. Kevin Durant is talking to the Nets to see what the future holds. 2022 brought serious flooding to parts of the country and major clean-up jobs. In March, Tairawhiti Civil Defence declared a state of emergency when torrential rain caused flooding across the East Cape and Hawke's Bay. The deluge caused serious damage to Gisborne's roads, bridges, properties, and farmland. Less than two weeks later, ex-tropical cyclone Fili brought more heavy rain and high winds, battering a region that hadn't yet recovered. Further south, major flooding in August put the Nelson-Marlborough region into a state of emergency, prompting a clean-up described as likely the "biggest recovery ever faced" in the region. Heavy rain caused widespread slips, rivers to burst their banks, and major damage to critical infrastructure, including State Highway 6, which is still being repaired. Hundreds of homes had to be evacuated, with more than 150 eventually being red-stickered. Kathryn speaks to Gisborne's mayor Rehette Stoltz and checks in with Nelson resident Maggie Gray, who Nine to Noon spoke with during the floods.
In the 3 PM hour, Ian goes off on sports analyst Maggie Gray who said some questionable things about the offensive line position. Then it was "Our Three Picks," "Captain Mike's Fishing Report," "Half-Time Heat", Lisa Ann called in, and then "Feel Good Friday." Then the show did "On This Day in Sports History," the Rays line-up, and a game with the listeners.
Check it out as Ian Beckles goes off on Maggie Gray over her comments about offensive lineman.

Some evacuated Nelson residents are being allowed back to their homes to survey the destruction caused by last week's floods. At least 570 properties have been damaged, and there are warnings that number could climb as the remaining homes are inspected. Maggie Gray lives on Nile Street near the Maitai River. Her property's been yellow-stickered, meaning she's allowed to check her house, but she can't move back in yet. She spoke to Corin Dann.
Some Nelson residents evacuated from their homes yesterday due to flooding are returning to look at the damage. 223 homes near the city centre were evacuated yesterday when the Maitai River broke its banks as relentless rain hammered the region. Another ten homes had to be evacuated in the Tahunanui Hills overnight due to a slip. Maggie Gray was one of those evacuated from her Nile Street home yesterday afternoon - she joins Kathryn as she returns to her property to find out how it has fared.
For weeks now, we've been hearing a lot about the supposedly scandalous 'Yankee Letter' -- sent by MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred to the New York Yankees back in 2017, and related to possible sign stealing violations. But now that the contents of that letter have come to light (as of Tuesday), it's clear that the story behind the letter is more interesting than the letter itself. Today, we dive into that story, which involves an unlikely lawsuit filed by a fantasy baseball player -- a case that unintentionally set off a media firestorm directed at the Yankees. Then, Maggie Gray of CBS Sports Radio joins us to discuss the contents of the letter and what all of this means for the Bronx Bombers. Gio went on to Stugotz's podcast recently and they played a little game of 'Al, Eddie or Jerry', so Gregg wanted to play with Boomer, (4:46) Dan in Carteret felt like calling the show and he did, (13:37) Jerry Recco's update included some audio of John Sterling hosting a call-in radio show 49 years ago and things got heated, (27:06) Tuesday's highly anticipated 'Moment of the Day' was a humbling one for Gio and (30:27) Maggie Gray, cohost of WFAN's midday show, called in to tell Gio to keep his head-up and wondered why he didn't call her prior to trying to eat 22 boneless wings in 90 seconds. This week, we welcomed WFAN midday host Maggie Gray to the show! The three of us dove into a wide variety of topics, including Maggie recounting her live on-air reaction to the Lindor trade, breaking down the daily preparation that she puts into her show, and discussing her various co-hosts through the years. We also touched on a few other New York teams that Maggie covers, such as the New York Knicks, the Brooklyn Nets, and (yes, they count as a New York team) the Buffalo Bills. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
Tuesday morning we had a case of Jerry Recco & Sal Licata, as the boys took some time to themselves. We heard some reflection on what's taken place in the world of sports over the last year or so, as we all adjust to a new way of living out day-to-day lives, (14:17) Sal and Al Dukes reach some common ground with a little game of 'whatcha watchin', (18:13) Chris Lopresti was on-hand and he brought with him, plenty of update goodness, (26:42) WFAN's own, Maggie Gray gets in the mix, after the question she had for Sandy Alderson about losing out on George Springer, provided an answer that had people talking, (35:12) Al then had his athleticism called into question, before a discussion on how much JJ Watt has left in the tank, after he inked a two-year deal to be a Cardinal. After Al Dukes locked horns on Twitter with his colleague, Maggie Gray, over the Mickey Callaway sexual misconduct allegations and Sandy Alderson's fault in the matter of hiring him as the Mets manager, Maggie called in to kick off the 9 o'clock hour and the two of them aired the beefs, with Boomer & Gio serving as moderators. (24:48) Then it was up to Jerry Recco to get us all updated, which he did, (30:23) Tuesday's highly anticipated 'Moment of the Day' then followed, (33:17) before we finished things up with a call from Maria in the Bronx, who wondered if Phil Simms wore a hair piece. And there you have it. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
The snow isn't stopping anytime soon, (4:26) things escalate between Al Dukes and Maggie Gray following a few tweet exchanges, (18:34) Jerry Recco did all he could in the time he had, and (28:03) when the phone calls started coming in, support for Al came along with them. Best way to discuss the groundbreaking hiring of Kim Ng as the new General Manager of the Miami Marlins? WFAN's Danielle McCartan, Maggie Gray, and Lori Rubinson breaking it down. Also, the three ladies talk about the current state of women in sports, their own career paths, and what the future could hold for other ladies who are 'dogged in their pursuit of their goals.' Amazin' But True: A NY Mets Baseball Podcast from New York Post Sports
Jake Brown and Nelson Figueroa open the show talking about the series loss to the Rays, meaning the Mets will have a sub-.500 record and likely miss the playoffs. They discuss how disappointing it is that a team with this much talent on offense will miss the playoffs, Jacob deGrom not going to win the Cy Young, the starting pitching struggles, Sandy Alderson returning to the organization and the future with Steve Cohen. WFAN radio host Maggie Gray then joins the show. Gray talks about the frustrating season, Steven Matz's struggles, Seth Lugo as a starter, going after Trevor Bauer and J.T. Realmuto, the rotation moving forward, the future for Luis Rojas and Brodie Van Wagenen, Alderson as president of baseball operations and a dream come true being on WFAN.
Maggie Gray came to NZ on an OE, worked with Mastercard during the Rugby World Cup and then fell in love with the place. Somewhat unusually, she started a food truck just after she became a Mum.She wanted flexibility on the job and the ability to work around her kids' needs, something her corporate career was unable to give her. Maggie was on a run in her local park while training for the half marathon when she spotted a Mr. Whippy truck pull up and people start gravitating towards it. As a busy mum she was an avid smoothie drinker and seeing the truck made her realise how amazing it would be if there was a similar truck but one that sold smoothies instead of ice-cream.This was in 2015 and despite what the movies showed, running a food truck selling quality food was extremely difficult and still a relatively new concept in Auckland. People associated food trucks with low quality hot chips and hot dog vendors. During winter there was a lack of events and so she partnered with a fellow food truck owner Timothy van der Werff of Double Dutch fries to organise their own street food event. Amazingly, hundreds of people were lining out the door to support their favourite food trucks and that is how the idea for the Food Truck Collective was born. An organisation that is dedicated to showcasing the brilliant people behind the food trucks we all love to eat at. Five years on, Maggie and Timothy use their knowledge of food trucks and what makes an outstanding event to organise events all over Auckland. Auckland Fried Chicken Festival, Auckland Vegan Food Festival and Food Truck Fridays at Britomart are just some of their popular events. On our episode we talk about:Realities of running a food truck while also being a MumWhy appearances are key, both for the food you serve as well as your food truckWhat it takes to organise a successful street food eventWorking in partnership with food truck owners – why that's key to a successful eventSocial Links:Food Truck Collective on Instagram @foodtruckcollectivenz .
