It's a jammed packed weekend with fight cards all over the USA, the U.K. and even, a title unification in Japan on Sunday, too. We're ready to talk the bouts, the news and some great heavyweight title nostalgia from July 4th in the early 1900s, as well on the "Big Fight Weekend Preview Podcast!"Host T.J. Rives is back with insider Dan Rafael of BigFightWeekend.com to give us the insight on the weekend and all that's happening. We start with the Top Rank card in Newark, NJ as Shakur Stevenson defends his newly won WBC lightweight title against Artem Harutyunyan in a 12 rounder. We've well documented and hear from Shakur himself that this could be his last bout with Top Rank as their deal is expiring. How big a night must he have for leverage for his future? It's discussed. The guys go over the rest of the card including O'Shaquie Foster defending the WBC 130 lb. crown against Robson Conceicao in the co feature. Plus, Keyshawn Davis and Abdullah Mason both fight on the televised undercard too.The guys also talk the Anaheim, CA PPV for former UFC stars Nate Diaz vs. Jorge Masvidal boxing in a 10 round main event, but more prominently in the co-feature bout between veteran former two time champ Daniel Jacobs battling Shane Mosley Jr. in need of a signature in an intriguing super middleweight co-feature bout. Then, there's more, including the Golden Boy Boxing show in nearby Ontario, CA, as consensus #1 lightweight contender, unbeaten William Zepeda looks to soldify a world title shot fighting Giovanni Cabrera in the main event. One of our hosts believes that Zepeda should be Skakur Stevenson's next fight should they both win convincingly Saturday night. The guys also talk the Matchroom Boxing Saturday afternoon U.S. time, heavyweight clash between England's Johnny Fisher and Alan Babic in a scheduled 10 rounder, but will likely end with big punches and a KO from someone earlier than that. And, the fight previews wrap with the Sunday (early morning USA time) junior bantamweight WBA/IBF world title unifiication bout between Japn's Kaz Ioka and Argentina's Fernando Martinez in a 12 round showdown. The winner will potentially have big leverage to fight American Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez down the road for his WBC belt. There's fight news involving the WBA stripping two of it's champs a female and a male for testing positive for PEDs. Dan has the specifics. And, there are two interesting American names that Queensberry Promotions has signed that will be in the ring soon for them. Finally, some nostalgia on the Anniversary of Wladimir Klitschko defeating David "Ouch, my Toe" Haye in a heavyweight title defense in 2011. Plus, two more historically significant bouts took place in the early 1990s on July 4th 1910, as Jack Johnson, the most dominant heavyweight of the early part of the 20'th century, defeated Jim Jeffries in the first of several "Fight of the Century" bouts. And, Jack Dempsey "The Manassas Mauler" clobbering a much bigger Jess Willard to win the heavyweight crown in 1919.Hea it all on the newest "Big Fight Weekend Preview Podcast" and make suret to follow/subscribe on Apple/Spreaker/Spotify, etc.!

Approximately 16 million people in the United States are diagnosed with COPD, and many more remain undiagnosed. The disease is the fourth leading cause of death in the United States. COPD should be considered in patients who have dyspnea, chronic cough or sputum production, and/or a history of exposure to risk factors for the disease. The renewable energy industry ranks 7th among 17 industries and institutions included in the 2020 Garrity Perception Survey. This episode of the Perception Podcast features an interview with Mr.  Fernando Martinez, the executive director of the New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority.New Mexico residents have a favorable opinion of the wind and solar industry according to the 2020 Garrity Perception Survey (GPS). Among the 17 industries surveyed, the renewable energy industry is the seventh most favorable industry in the state. The scientific survey among New Mexico residents was conducted in late January 2020. “The renewable energy industry is favorably positioning New Mexico to be a significant player in the generation and transmission of clean energy due in large part to New Mexico's great assets in plentiful and quality wind and sunshine.” said Tom Garrity, President and CEO of The Garrity Group Public Relations. “The move to renewables is also driven by the 2019 Energy Transition Act that establishes a pathway for a low-carbon energy transition away from coal.”According to the State of New Mexico, the Energy Transition Act sets a statewide renewable energy standard of 50 percent by 2030 for New Mexico investor-owned utilities and rural electric cooperatives and a goal of 80 percent by 2040, in addition to setting zero-carbon resources standards for investor-owned utilities by 2045 and rural electric cooperatives by 2050.New Mexico Renewable Energy Transmission Authority's Executive Director Fernando Martinez shared some insights about the increased favorability of the industry during a recent interview with Tom Garrity. “There are economic and environmental reasons for increased favorability of the industry.  Western energy policies have changed rapidly in the last few years. There are energy policies, meant to meet environmental benefits that are going to realized in NM and the surrounding states, but it is also great economics that are driving the wind and solar industry right now. Because wind and solar are now cheaper than new gas and new coal and that is even without the incentives of investment tax credits and production tax credits. We can say that wind and solar are now a large part of the new energy markets based solely on low cost.  And we expect by early 2030s that n w s will be cheaper than existing gas.”New Mexican's favorability of the renewable energy industry has been consistently favorable, hovering right around 60 percent since the GPS started in 2011. Residents who are likely to have a favorable impression of the renewable energy industry includes voters who are registered as a democrat, have a graduate degree, household income of $40,000-$79,99 each year and between 50-64 years of age. Geographically, residents in the North Central region are the most favorable of wind and solar industry.  New Mexicans living in Albuquerque and the Las Cruces area are also favorable of the industry.About the Garrity Perception Survey and P.A.C.E. The 2020 Garrity Perception Survey is a scientific survey of New Mexico residents conducted by Research & Polling Inc. The survey has a 95% level of confidence.  The Garrity Group first commissioned the survey in 2011 and makes its cross-tab data available to help its clients identify and understand their target audience. The PACE solution leverages the demographic and geographic insights as a way for our clients to be relevant before their New Mexico audience. Identifying how our clients are Perceived by their Audiences, we Create a way for them to Engage relevant advocates.  For more information visit GarrityPR.com.

Welcome to From Complex to Queens, the podcast from Amazin’ Avenue focusing on the Mets’ minor league system. John S. Pemburton first synthesized his recipe for Coca-Cola on this date back in 1886, so the team discusses their most and least favorite Coke variations in Promote, Extend, Trade. After, they discuss their favorite minor league prospects that they followed never made it to the major leagues or never had their career trajectories pan out as expected. Steve reminisces on Juan Urbina, Lukas recalls Fernando Martinez, Ken remembers the recently-retired Cameron Planck, and Thomas discusses Colby Woodmansee. Finally, they talk about Brian Cole, who tragically died in a car accident on March 31st, 2001. Cole rocketed up through the Mets’ minor league system from 1998-2000 and seemed poised to crack the major league roster before losing his life. His brief minor league career almost a mirage, many of the best players of the era still call Brian “the best player you never saw.” As always, you can listen or subscribe to the podcast through Apple Podcasts, where we encourage you to leave a review if you enjoy the show. Another lifetime ago, Brian and Evan Drellich spent summers together at NYSEG Stadium in Binghamton. Brian was the Binghamton Mets beat reporter for the Press & Sun-Bulletin, and Evan (an intern at the paper) was covering the team for Scout.com. This week, Brian and Evan — who now covers the Red Sox for NBC Sports Boston and who's been a big-league baseball beat reporter for 10 years — reminisce about those days watching Jose Coronado and Fernando Martinez. They remember their late editor, Charlie Jaworski, and how they still hear Jaws' voice in their heads. Evan, a graduate of Binghamton University, discusses how keeping covering a high-school football game is the hardest thing to do in sports journalism. He talks about his career path from New York to Boston to Houston and back to Boston and what it's like to cover the Red Sox. Evan and Brian talk about why the sports media world is so fascinated with Boston sports media, which leads into a bigger discussion about the role of analysis in beat writing and how all news judgment is editorializing.
