Welcome back to TableSetters, your go-to podcast for all things baseball! Steve and Devin are back, diving deep into the week's news, with Anthony Santander reaching the 40 HR mark for the first time in his career and the first to do it for the Birds since Mark Trumbo in 2016. We also discuss Jay Jaffe's article about the possibility that Francisco Lindor is already a Hall of Famer. Buckle up as we discuss the Yankees' finally calling up Jasson Domínguez & how we think this will work out. How did Aaron Boone handle the roulette of the lineup card that his presence creates? Paul Skenes is adding to his already memorable rookie campaign by breaking records in Pirates' franchise history since 1900. Is there anything he cannot do? But that's just the tip of the iceberg, folks. We say goodbye to Ed Kranepool and talk about his impact on the Mets, check in on the Ohtani 50-50 chase, volley whether either Kershaw or Verlander will be on their respective postseason rosters, and wonder if the Giants will end up regretting the Matt Chapman extension. Steve even wonders aloud about the history of birds infesting outfields! We get into so much more, so dive in and give us your feedback! And hey, remember to follow us on Instagram and Twitter @tablesetterspod for exclusive updates, behind-the-scenes content, and interactive fan polls. We want to hear from you! Rob Saleh said Sauce was trying to catch his breath. Sauce said he just had the wind knocked out of him. Christian McCaffrey didn't play so an undrafted rookie ran through the Jets defense. Boomer did like that Aaron Rodgers stayed in the pocket for the most part. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with Kevin Harlan on the call as the Niners had no problem with the Jets last night. Kayvon Thibodeaux was asked about the Giants defense and he wouldn't answer the question. Brian Daboll was asked about the QB and he's sticking with Daniel Jones. DeShaun Watson was hit with another lawsuit yesterday. The Yankees and Mets both won while the Jets were losing. And Ed Kranepool passed away. Hour 3 We talked more about the Tyreek Hill audio from the traffic stop. The Drew he was calling for was not his agent, but for the security guy from the Dolphins. We also took a few more calls on the whole situation. Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Jets losing in San Francisco. A Cleveland radio host has had it with callers comparing DeShaun Watson and Baker Mayfield. The Yankees beat the Royals. The Mets beat the Blue Jays and are now a game up on the Braves in the Wild Card standings. In the final segment of the hour, Boomer is doing a fast and Gio said it makes him pass gas in the studio. A psychologist said it's a ‘red flag' if you watch true crime to relax. Hour 4 The Jets lost in San Francisco last night but Gio thinks they are going to run off a bunch of wins starting Sunday. Boomer liked that Aaron Rodgers stayed in the pocket for the most part as that's where he's most effective. Boomer said the Jets defense has to get turnovers against the Titans. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about the MTV VMA's which are in Long Island tomorrow night. Gio went through the list of performers to see if we knew any of them. Jerry has audio of Kevin Harlan on the call as the Jets lost in San Francisco. Brian Daboll said Daniel Jones is the starter going forward and they are not bringing in another QB. The Moment of The Day: Boomer reads from his stat pack and Eddie's drop tells him where to put it. In the final segment of the show, Daniel Jones is starting against the Commanders this week and he's actually had consistent success against them. Gio wanted them to Drew Lock because he has more energy. Could it happen in the second half of this week's game? James Earl Jones passed away and Gio said he thinks of Field of Dreams first.

Pete Alonso and Brandon Nimmo each went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts last night in Georgia, another rough night in a rough season, and another little edit to the Mets' history books. The list of career three-strikeout games is an interesting one, because it's one of those things… like… you've got to be pretty good to be in the lineup to strike out three times regularly enough to be on the list. So, it's probably not a surprise that David Wright holds the record at 61, for as long as he was a power-hitting Met. It's a pretty wide gap, 10 of these games, to number two on the list, Michael Conforto at 51. Then it's Darryl Strawberry at 48, and now a tie for fourth at 44 between Dave Kingman and Alonso.Nimmo already was in the top 10, and now has broken his tie with Ron Swoboda for ninth place. Nimmo's 30th three-strikeout game puts him six behind the two men tied for sixth, Tommie Agee and Lucas Duda. Rounding out that top 10, with 28 times striking out three times in a game, is Jerry Koosman, who more than made up for it with the strikeouts he racked up on the mound — 1,799 of his 2,556 career K's came in orange and blue. The next 10 are pretty interesting as a mix: Curtis Granderson and Mookie Wilson at 24; Todd Hundley, Howard Johnson, and Cleon Jones at 22; Ike Davis at 21; Mike Piazza at 20; Carlos Beltrán and Tom Seaver at 19; and it's actually 11, not 10, because tied for 20th place on this list are Carlos Delgado and Francisco Lindor, with 18 three-strikeout games as Mets.Lindor was 1-for-2 last night, with a walk and a hit by pitch. That moved him up to sole possession of 48th place on the Mets' all-time list for reaching base three times in a game. He's done it 65 times now, snapping a tie with Ángel Pagán. Next time Lindor gets on base three times, he'll tie George Foster and Todd Zeile for 46th, with Gregg Jefferies (67), Hubie Brooks (69), and Ron Swoboda (70) on the radar. Wright has that team record at 336, with Nimmo the active leader at 142 (13th all-time, between Mookie and Lee Mazzilli), and Alonso even with Jeff McNeil at 109 (a 22nd-place tie between Conforto and Kevin McReyonlds). The top 11 Mets, ahead of Nimmo and Wilson, for reaching base three times in a game?* Wright, 336* José Reyes, 238* Edgardo Alfonzo, 196* Strawberry, 192* Jones & Piazza, 186* Keith Hernandez, 185* Beltrán, 171* HoJo, 170* Bud Harrelson, 168* Ed Kranepool, 154 This is a public episode. From 'DA's New York Accent' (Subscribe Here): Many Mets fans may be surprised to know Ed Kranepool has the third most hits in franchise history. The beloved member of the ‘69 Amazin' Mets was much more than just a good quote. He spent his entire career with the Mets, starting with the expansion team in ‘62, right through the dark years of the late ‘70s. He saw it all, from national punchline to World Champs, then back into the abyss. Through it all he kept a good sense of humor and has plenty of stories from the Mets ascent in the ‘60s. Listen to Kranepool discuss the steps in building a winner, getting along with veterans 20 years older than him as a rookie, and how he'd have at least 1 more championship if Gil Hodges hadn't passed away.
