Send us a textRemember the Return of the Living Dead part 2? We saw it as kids and we saw it a lot. But once we got older the original dominated our viewing. Was it because part 2 was hard to find on TV or it didn't hold a candle to the original? They're back from the grave and ready to party… again. The cult classic ‘The Return of the Living Dead' has been highly revered by horror fans for almost four decades. Celebrating its 40th Anniversary next year, DRagon Studios now presents a new feature film from The Return of the Living Dead Universe titled, ‘Trash's Revenge'. Trash, an iconic character made famous by Linnea Quigley, the iconic 80's scream queen known for her roles in ‘Night of the Demons', ‘Creepozoids', and ‘Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers', is back. If that wasn't exciting enough, joining Linnea Quigley are original cast members Beverly Randolph, Thom Mathews, John Philbin, Drew Deighan, and Miguel Nunez. The project will also feature the talents of composer Francis Haines and makeup artist Tony Gardner. It's all very exciting and very much needed when you consider the mess the franchise ended up in with poor sequel after poor sequel. Alas, as of the time of this interview, those involved in trying to make Trash's Revenge a reality has discovered that, according to a statement put out, a company called Living Dead Media had illegitimately claimed copyright ownership and had been profiting from The Return of the Living Dead for the last 10 years without paying any royalties to the cast. This has resulted in the campaign being temporarily halted while this issue is sorted out. Trash's Revenge is not going away, we just need to be patient. This issue is something we discuss in this interview with Linnea, while also digging into the guts of Trash's Revenge, talking about the iconic original film, and even touching upon other areas of Linnea's incredible career to date. Once the campaign is live, fans and supporters can help make it a reality, here. The original cast and their drive to recoup what is rightfully theirs can be supported here. Thom recalls growing up in Hollywood and what led him to pursue an acting career. We learn of his friendship and loyalty to George Clooney and the lengths Thom went to creating the look and style of characters he played in his career. Along the way we hear about how the band Visage weren't too keen on the classic Zombie movie of 1985 and how it was for Thom to return to the Tommy Jarvis role decades later in the Never Hike Alone series of movies.Presented in association with Affinity Photo - The hottest photo editing software on iPad, Mac & PChttps://affinity.serif.com/photoIntro Music by Johnny Monacohttps://www.johnnymonaco.com/ Incidental Music by Night Fires Please visit The Straight To Video Patreon Page to find out how you can help grow this show. https://patreon.com/stvpod

In keeping with its fellow '70s and '80s horror movies, The Return of the Living Dead (1985) delivers a classic tale about an official governmental goof — which makes for some interesting timing considering that it's set right around the Fourth of July. This week on Spooky Tuesday, we decided to celebrate the holiday and the anniversary of the film's (totally true, just peep that title card) events in one fell swoop. On our latest episode, we're keeping the party time (zombie version) going as we enjoy this flick's killer soundtrack, discuss potential throuples, and get into a serious debate about who exactly is the dumbest of the dumb bitches. RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD came out of left field in the summer of 1985 - a horror movie featuring bloodthirsty zombies, genuine scares, side-splitting humor and a punk rock soundtrack. It's one of the most brilliant zombie films ever made. If there's anyone out there who doesn't love this film, they're wrong. It's not easy being a leading man in a genre that is primarily known for Scream Queens and masked maniacs. But Thom Mathews is truly one of the great leading men of horror. As Freddy in the beloved zombie classic Return of the Living Dead (Joey in its sequel) and Friday the 13th series hero Tommy Jarvis in franchise favorite Friday The 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, Thom has managed the difficult balance of being both heroic and vulnerable in films that are often thought to be populated by stock characters.Thom and I chat about his experience on Return of the Living Dead, learning comedic timing from heavyweights like James Karen and Clu Gulager; his days running around LA auditioning while rooming with pal George Clooney; making a huge rock designed to drag Jason Vorhees to the bottom of Crystal Lake NOT look like it was made of Styrofoam; and his love of being creative not just as an actor, but also building homes for the who's who of Hollywood. For Kevin Lane, one of the joys of hosting this show is getting to meet the icons of his childhood, and Thom is certainly one of them. He brings a ton of heart to his work and plenty of BRRRAAAIIINNNSSS. Yep, we went there. Get bonus content on Patreon Hosted on Acast. Thom Mathews joins me to discuss what I was like behind the scenes of the Return of the Living Dead, and he gives us some insights into how he got started as a actor. Enjoy
Vinny is a film worker. Filmmaker, Director, Producer, Writer and Actor. He created "Womp Stomp Films", an independent film company that has been consistently putting out quality movies and shorts for several years now. Being a huge fan of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, I needed to reach out to him in order to discuss his brilliant fan film series "Never Hike Alone". One of my favorite fan film I've seen so far. We, well... he goes heavily into the making "Never Hike Alone" and the prequel, "Never Hike In The Snow", the concept, the concept behind "Ghost Jason" and the return of "Friday the 13th" alumni, Thom Mathews who reprises his role as "Tommy Jarvis" from Part 6. From the "Never Hike Alone" films to a couple "Halloween" fan films, to his role in Deborah Voorhees' film, "13 Fanboy". This was a great conversation and hopefully when the new "Never Hike Alone" installment is done, he'll be back to talk about that as well. Enjoy!
One of the horror icons that I've always wanted on. My guest on Episode 241 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is the one and only Thom Mathews. Known mostly for his roles as "Tommy Jarvis" in "Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives" and "Freddy" in The Return of the Living Dead Movie. Not to mention, "Joey" in The Return of the Living Dead 2. We talk about those movies and a few others that people might not be aware of. We also go into him reprising his role as "Tommy Jarvis" in the "Never Hike Alone: A 6-Part Friday the 13th Fan Web Series"; which so far, the first two are brilliantly done. I'm grateful he took time out for me to do this. Merry Christmas everyone! Respect. Support and Subscribe to @Womp Stomp Films . They're doing a lot of very cool stuff from original films as well as fan films.
