You won't want to miss out on the practical and powerful message. Thank you to all those who have served and we pray for peace and rest on Memorial Day. Welcome Home! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Sermon Notes: On May 5, 1868, General John A. Logan, leader of an organization for Northern Civil War veterans, called for a nationwide day of remembrance later that month. “The 30th of May, 1868, is designated for the purpose of strewing with flowers, or otherwise decorating the graves of comrades who died in defense of their country during the late rebellion, and whose bodies now lie in almost every city, village, and hamlet churchyard in the land,” he proclaimed. To Honor 75 Years of B'n'M' history we had Kent Driscoll and Tony Hughes come on the show to give you guys some beginner tips for crappie fishing!
Originally hailing from Manchester, England - Aaron worked as a financial analyst at Barclays Capital, London, before moving to New York in 2010. Working as an agency account manager for clients that included Ferrari North America, Diageo and Pepsico, Aaron invested a large portion of his time learning about brand strategy, data driven marketing campaigns and digital technology. Transitioning from finance to creative came naturally to Aaron, due in part to his desire to provide data driven design insights and business strategy to the creative and digital industry. "As kid I was always trying to figure out how to beat the AI in video games. I grew up playing donkey kong on my Atari and I'm still an avid gamer. I have always challenged myself to beat gaming algorithms and I guess that's why I love digital so much because there is no set formula for success, it's trial and error, it's iterative and it's unforgiving." Partnering with his sister, Aaron wanted to create more than an agency, he wanted to create a brand and a work environment that never felt like work. This ethos lead to the creation of The Charles (a business name carried by all men in their family and rooted in a founding mission - ‘To Honor. To Inspire'. To Honor - their clients and do business with integrity. To Inspire - with the work created. Aaron's deep understanding of the relationship between creativity and commerce and attuned business strategy skill set has helped to solidify The Charles as one of the go-to boutique creative digital agencies in New York. Aaron is also an angel investor in a new start up named Pedul (a recruitment platform creating equitable representation for large multinational companies).

She was a star in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Her first role was in Max Reinhardt's A Midsummer Nights Dream in 1935. She signed a deal with Warner Brothers and appeared in some of their most important films of the thirties including Captain Blood and, of course, The Adventures of Robin Hood. Her role has Melanie in Gone with the Wind brought her her first Oscar nomination. She lost that year to Hattie McDaniel but that didn't stop her form winning two Oscars later in her career. Her name was Olivia de Haviland and with her death at the age of 104 we've lost our last living connection to the Golden Age of Hollywood. To Honor her, John and Steve have recorded a new introduction to one of their favorite episodes, The Adventures of Robin Hood with special guest, Joe Mantegna. On todays podcast I talk to Tim Yandlow who has been studying and using nutrition and natural medicine since 1990 both to support his clients and to keep himself well and thriving. He is a biologist and a scientist who studied a huge range of topics from energy medicine with Barbara Ann Brennan to European biological medicine, nutrition in homeopathy with Dr. Thomas Rau and so many gifted practitioners for over 25 years, so Tim is a wealth of knowledge. In 2009 he had to tap into that knowledge because he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. We dive into Tim's diagnosis and how he had to utilize all of that knowledge that he had gathered to heal himself. The story is beautiful because we are not against conventional medical technologies, drugs, surgeries and radiation or chemo. In fact there's a time and place for everything, but if we can implement the nutrition first and all of these other healing modalities, everything that's included in lifestyle medicine, we can further help heal people and we can also prevent diseases. Almost 90% of diseases could be prevent if people were to live by the lifestyle medicine principles that Tim had studied in. So jump into this podcast learn as much as you can from Tim because he's really truly a gift to be sharing his experience with us. From there we are going to dive in to what it was like after he healed himself and touch on the story about his daughter which is also a remarkable. Connect or follow Tim on his website Tim's joke book "A Lawyer Named Sue" is due to be released at the end of the year. To keep updated sign up with your email on his website. In an effort to generate support and raise awareness and funds for the building of a Veteran’s Memorial, Thomas Gregory collaborated with Time Warner Cable to showcase a student-produced documentary featuring local veterans and current servicemen and women on Time Warner’s Local On-Demand channel. The documentary is part of Gregory’s To Serve and To Honor unit, which began shortly after a Gahanna Lincoln High alum lost his life in Iraq. Motivated by the loss of a friend and community member, students helped create the unit, resulting in an award-winning documentary and more than $130,000 raised to design and build a Veteran’s Memorial outside of the school.Listen and learn (MP3, 20.5 MB) how Gregory has impacted not only his students, but his entire community.Technorati tags: Thomas Gregory, veteran’s memorial, on-demand, student documentary, Time Warner Cable, Cable's Leaders in Learning Awards, cable, CIC, Cable in the Classroom, cableintheclassroom, tv, school, education, NCTA
