Howdy everyone, how's your Summer been? We're breaking heat records up here in Montreal, but the winds have been kind, sweeping storms across the region to cool the air every few days. Life has been hectic, and perhaps it's the effect of the Dog Days, or something else altogether, but I have been busy as a woodchuck! I'm currently perched high on the corner of a church tower, counting the Swallows' nests below. Join me for a discussion on saint magics, oil formulations, necromancy, dissatisfaction with one's practice, and working historical magics. In today's episode: How to prepare Saint Expedite oil? What are your favorite things about your local ecosystem spiritually? Do you feel that it differs significantly from other popularly written about ecosystems in occult literature, like the PNW, New England, or the American South? How did you find footing in your practice? How should I begin saint work? Advice on beginning necromantic work? How do you find the right way to go when you constantly feel unsatisfied with your practice? Do you work with any PGM spells and can you share a favorite? Would love to hear about drawing from historical sources to build a spell! Thanks! In magical practice how important is it to "raise power" and how may that look differently? When posting active magical work publicly should there be anything to be wary about?

When the veil between our world and the magical realm thins, intriguing tales and wisdom await. This is exactly what unfurls as I invite the enigmatic Mahigan St Pierre from Kitchen Toad into our circle. A folk witch with a tapestry of Catholic and indigenous spiritual roots, Mahigan weaves a narrative that harmonizes land veneration, ancestor worship, and the holistic art of herbalism. Their insights are a lantern in the dark, illuminating the corners of witchcraft and spirituality that many yearn to explore. Together, we uncover the otherness that those on the witch's path not only embrace but embody in their daily lives.Strap on your metaphysical boots as we trek through the evolution of our practices, guided by the stars of community and personal spirits. There's something profoundly comforting about the spirits Mahigan works with—they're family, offering guidance and joy on this enchanting journey. We chat about the shift away from traditional rituals like casting circles and how such changes reflect the organic growth of our craft. It's a candid look at the foundations that both anchor our practices and allow us to soar into new magical territories.Venture with us as we blend the bristles of art with the palette of magic, creating a masterpiece of witchery that honors heritage and personal discovery. Artistic expression and cultural traditions are not just brush strokes in our practices; they're the very colors that define us. By sharing a tale that chills the spine—a spectral figure from Mahigan's childhood—we acknowledge the mysterious and profound encounters that often mark the lives of those touched by the supernatural. So, pour yourself a cup of enchanted brew and settle in for a magical odyssey where the everyday becomes extraordinary.Be sure to check out Mahigan's new podcast, Sat Upon a Toadstool, tomorrow on Spotify, Apple podcasts, or on Mahigan's website.kitchentoad.com/sat-upon-a-toadstoolDon't forget to check out this week's sponsor, Beyond the Sage! Support the showSupport the show and get tons of bonus content, videos, monthly spell boxes, and more at CrepuscularConjuration.com!Or become a paying subscriber on Buzzsprout: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1777532/supportWant to see if you're a good fit for the show? Or is it the film equivalent of hitting a banana peel on Rainbow Road? What does it say about the state of entertainment and society? And what does it […]

Step into the Boardroom this week as we begin our journey to rank the top 15 Nintendo games of all time. This week, it's our selection show, and Logan, Justin, and Chris create a preliminary list of the 15 best Nintendo games ever before they tear it all to shreds in next week's Part 2. From modern classics like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to old school favorites like Super Mario Bros., anything is fair game on this list. Will your favorite make the cut? What do you think of our list? What's your favorite Nintendo game of all time? Let us know at toadstoolboardroom@gmail.com or on Twitter at @ToadstoolBR. Note: This episode was recorded in early April. Next week is Part 2 of our ranking game, and we'll be back in three weeks time to discuss The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and any other Nintendo news that's happened in the last few weeks.

I think Mario sports, and frankly, couch multiplayer, peaked on the Nintendo GameCube. So any chance I have to blow smoke up one of those game's asses, I'm gonna start blowing. And what better way to praise a game, than to dedicate an entire episode of a crappy podcast to it?? We're talking the phenomenal Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour this week. The gameplay can be as deep, or as simple, as you want it to be. And the graphics, courses, modes, and gameplay still hold up twenty years later.    RTG's resident artist, Joe Gillespie, makes his podcast debut this week, and we talked about how awesome Toadstool Tour is, despite having some bullshit holes (looking at YOU, King Bobomb). If you never played this one, you missed out. Don't let Mario Golf: Super Rush fool you, Mario Golf used to be the shit.   And before we talk birdies and pipes, I slap together another edition of the 'Remember The Game? Infamous Intro'!   This week, we get into the Nintendo Switch's quest to dethrone the PlayStation 2 as the best-selling console ever, and whether or not Switch and Switch Lite sales should be combined. Where should someone that's new to the GameCube start? And y'all know I love The Simpsons, but what are my top 3 animated series of all-time?   Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features the remaining 3 GameCube Mario sports heavyweights: Mario Superstar Baseball, Super Mario Strikers, and Mario Power Tennis.

During a rainstorm, a fairy invites some new friends inside her tiny toadstool home...but will it be big enough to fit them all? This is another one based on a folk tale that has versions all over the world, with many variations on the item everyone fits into, from a hat to a mitten to a mushroom! *Disclaimer, there is a fox in this story that sounds a little scary at first as it snuffles around the toadstool but it isn't hungry, just lost! Thank you to everyone who has been adventuring with me, I'm so happy you are here! Each story is told from the top of my head and the bottom of my heart, so I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoy telling them. During this, the longest summer in the history of the world, we await the denouement of this great American experiment in Democracy. Also, on this episode, we answer the VERY impordant question, who the eff shot JR, anyway? JR Ewing, by-the-by, suffered from “Narcissistic Personality Disorder,” an incurable disease articulated in the fourth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Our host has it on good authority that the DSM IV was secretly authored by Kelly Ann Conway's soon to be former x- husband, George Conway. George also diagnosed Trumpie with the same disease, years ago! Can you believe it?  Also covered in this episode, Trumpie's abnormal chode and “yeti pubes,” per the author of that incredible piece of American literature, “Full Disclosure,” Stormy Daniels. And, FUPA's and gunts. (we blame @JoJoFromJerz for the FUPA reference!) On this episode, Midge celebrates (and we poke) her fellow deplorables: Jim Jordan, Madison Cawthorn, Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell,  Donald J. Trump, Marjorie Taylor Greene, MAGA's (in general), GOP, Kevin McCarthy,  THORN IN THE USA is brought to you by a group of bleeding-heart liberal scoundrels who can see that the former king is totally naked, but cannot understand why people like Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and house minority leader Kevin McCarthy continue to INSIST he's is fully clothed and decent.
