There is plenty on the line for both sides, as Spurs chase a first trophy for 17 years, whilst Manchester United need the prize of Champions League football after their worst ever Premier League campaign. But Tottenham's domestic form has seen questions arise over the future of gaffer Ange Postecoglou, despite the result in Spain, whilst Manchester United's short term future could hinge on winning or losing in the Basque Country. Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso, presented by our friends at Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. Wednesday's Europa League Final between Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur is possibly the most important game in the financial history of Manchester United. It's obviously important in that sense for Spurs as well, it will give them a place at the Champions League table next season, but it's more of a necessity for United. For a club that had the 4th highest amount of revenue in the world last season but still lost £113m, they simply cannot afford to lose out on the over £100m that qualifying for the Champions League guarantees. Because of that and the placement of the two teams in the Premier League table, this match has the feel of a relegation playoff more than a European final. I think it will have that feeling of desperation as well. Kickoff is tomorrow at 3pm, watch on Paramount+. Atlanta United 2 drew 2-2 last night at Crown Legacy after goals from Cayman Togashi and Javier Armas. The 2's are on a 4-match unbeaten run and host Orlando on Friday night at Fifth Third Stadium in Kennesaw. In the NWSL, the Chicago Stars have moved a September match to Northwestern's lakefront Martin Stadium. According to Jeff Kassouf of The Equalizer and ESPN, the Stars' lease is up at SeatGeek Stadium at the end of the year and Northwestern could be in play as a new home for the club. Wednesday night will see the Concacaf W Champions Cup semifinals take place as Club América host Gotham FC, while Tigres take on Portland Thorns at 10:30 p.m. later that night. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the newly formed FIFA Women's Club World Cup. Speaking of Club World Cup, Flamengo is planning to add Arsenal's Jorginho to their squad for the tournament according to Fabrizio Romano. Inter are still negotiating with Marseille for Luiz Henrique and Real Madrid are closing in on Benfica LB Alvaro Carrera in a 40-50 million Euro deal. It was also announced yesterday that Manchester City will prepare for the tournament at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL. Expect more announcements like that around the country as teams get ready for the tournament. The first match in Atlanta is set for June 16 as Chelsea will face the winner of the play-in match between Club América & LAFC. New ticket options are available at FIFA.com/tickets. I'll be live on 92.9 The Game tonight with Atlanta Soccer Tonight at 10pm, you can also listen on the Audacy app or on-demand at the Off The Woodwork podcast. More Morning Espresso will be served up on Thursday morning here on the SDH Network.

The win also means the Gunners are likely to finish runners-up again in the Premier League, and Merse says Arsenal must be serious contenders for the title by Christmas, otherwise he thinks the club will replace Mikel Arteta. The trio also discuss the earlier game on Super Sunday, which saw Nottingham Forest keep their hopes of playing Champions League football next campaign after their 2-1 win at West Ham. They then give their views on who they believe will finish in the top five, with Merse saying that he is worried about Manchester City's chances of making the cut. Daye is a Tottenham Hotspur and Bayern Munich fan who recently just moved to Munich for his Masters. And now has seen his favourite team, one of his favourite teams in Tottenham Hotspur reach the final of the Europa League and have a chance to win their first trophy since 2008. Daye and Magnus analyse Tottenham's season. A really bad position in the league, sitting 17th in the Premier League table, is why Daye understands why some fans will feel like they should have seen their current manager, Ange Postecoglou, leave White Hart Lane at the end of the season. Daye broke down where he thinks Manchester United can fall to Tottenham Hotspur but still believes it will be a dicey affair as Manchester United can be annoying on that day. Bayern frontman Harry Kane scored a goal In what was Muller's last game of the season while we were having a conversation. Iconic, right? Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. It could be one of the most lucrative matches in the history of the game in the Europa League final as Manchester United will face Tottenham Hotspur with a Champions League spot on the line. The winner could earn over $130 million by being in next season's Champions League. For Spurs, it could mean Ange Postecoglu stays in his job as manager. For Ruben Amorim and Manchester United, it could mean they can go out in the transfer market and spend a bit while hopefully not having to lay anyone else off. In Spain on Sunday, the Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid could either essentially decide the title for Barca or open the door wide open against for Madrid to come back in the final three weeks of the season. The remaining schedule definitely favors Madrid, and a win would put them only one point behind Barcelona. In Portugal, if there is a winner between the eternal rivals Benfica and Sporting, that team will have the head-to-head tiebreaker in the league standings with one round of matches to go. Both teams are currently tied on points. A draw would make the final weekend very interesting with lots of scoreboard watching. In MLS this weekend, the big game is in Chester as 2nd-place Philadelphia hosts Eastern Conference leaders Columbus. Charlotte goes to Nashville, Austin goes to Cincinnati, and Miami travels to Minnesota. Sunday Night Soccer is a great one with Supporters' Shield leaders Vancouver hosting LAFC.We'll get the weekend started at Soldier Field as Atlanta United faces the Chicago Fire. Pregame coverage starts at 1:30 on 92.9 The Game with Abe Gordon and Madison Crews, Mike Conti and I will take over ahead of a 2:40pm kickoff. In girls high school soccer semifinals last night, we had both 3A semifinals on the SDH Network as Jefferson and Oconee County booked their spots in next week's final. Buford and Roswell have a chance to finish unbeaten as they advanced to their respective finals next week. Boys' high school semifinals tonight all over the state of Georgia before next week's championship game at three different sites.

Host Richard Cracknell is joined by Spurs Stadium Singer Tim Winstone, George Achillea and Marlon Via Spurs Kings TV as West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur traded first-half goals and settled for a stodgy 1-1 draw on Sunday that will leave neither particularly thrilled or disappointed — at least it wasn't another loss. Spurs went ahead in the 15th minute after Max Kilman got himself into all kinds of trouble and lost the ball to Mathys Tel deep in his own half. Tel quickly played it across the penalty area and found Wilson Odobert, who settled and fired past Alphonse Areola for his first Premier League goal with the club. It was 1-0 until the 28th minute, as Jarrod Bowen raced in behind Spurs' defense and shot between Guglielmo Vicario's legs from near the end line to reach double-digit PL goals for the third time in four seasons. With the draw, Spurs (38 points) remain 16th in the PL table, still a point and a place above West Ham (37 points). Suffice to say, the (league) season can't end soon enough for either side. Spurs, of course, still cling to the hope of winning the Europa League. They lead Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt 3-1 after their semifinal home leg on Thursday. It's time for The Truth!Today, Sam and Dougie are looking at the Premier League, and the argument that's been raging on social media as to whether this is a Premier League cast that's strong or weak? On one side, you have the earliest that three teams have been confirmed as relegated in Premier League history, as well as Champions in Liverpool who were crowned in April - but realistically haven't lost control since November. Plus, two traditional powerhouses in Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have languished at the bottom, whilst City's title defence never really got going. A lack of jeopardy, perhaps - but what does that say about the strength of the rest?On the other hand, there's a stronger than ever middle class in the Premier League, able to take points off the big boys on a regular basis. Brighton, Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham are still scrapping for the final European spot, and each of them have had big name scalps, and possess certain players that their mid-table counterparts in some of the European leagues could only dream of. Surely that suggests this is a stronger class than ever before, especially with 12th-placed Crystal Palace making their way to Wembley for an FA Cup final? Well, The Truth is somewhere in the middle... Welcome in for another edition of the Morning Espresso from the SDH Network, brought to you by Oglethorpe University, Atlanta's premier undergraduate learning experience and soccer powerhouse. The Vancouver Whitecaps continued one of the best starts to a MLS season in history by eliminating Inter Miami in the semifinals of the Concacaf Champions Cup last night in Ft. Lauderdale. Jordi Alba cut the aggregate lead to 2-1 early in the first half, but Vancouver broke the match open early in the second half with goals from Brian White and Pedro Vite. Sebastian Berhalter scored the last one to win the night 3-1 and the series 5-1. While lots of focus will be on the failure by Miami to get the job done, everyone needs to be praising this Vancouver team and giving them credit.Berhalter will miss the final due to yellow card accumulation in a rule that Concacaf absolutely must change. It's outdated to have players miss finals due to yellow card accumulation and most competitions have changed when the cards reset to avoid this. Players shouldn't miss finals due to accumulation and it has to change going forward for Concacaf.Inter, who hadn't scored in 3 straight matches while getting knocked out of the Coppa Italia and losing the top spot in Serie A, led twice at Barcelona yesterday in an absolute classic of a semifinal first leg. A goal in 30 seconds was followed up by an acrobatic flying volley by Denzel Dumfries. Barcelona showed all of their quality to come back to level the match before Inter regained the lead at 3-2. Barca came back one more time and it finished 3-3, setting up a must-watch second leg next week in Milan. Lamine Yamal, who isn't even 18 years old yet, showed why he has to be in contention for the Balon d'Or right now with his outrageous goal and overall impact on the match. Simone Inzaghi, Inter's manager, described him as a player who comes along every 50 years. On a day when both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's sides were eliminated in Champions League competitions, Yamal showed that he might be the next entrant in the GOAT sweepstakes with a legend-making sort of performance. Europa League semifinals start today with tiny Bodo/Glimt traveling to London to face Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United going to Bilbao to face Athletic Club. If the entire town that Bodo/Glimt calls home traveled to the match in London, they couldn't fill Spurs' stadium. But they've become one of the big stories over the past few years as they're dominant in Norway and have beaten Ange Postecolglu before when he was at Celtic. As for Manchester United, the pressure is on to win the Europa League in order to play in next year's Champions League and perhaps have the financial wherewithal to revitalize their roster and the club's future. The Carlo Ancelotti telenovela carries on with most everyone now saying that when the La Liga title is out of reach, then we'll get a resolution. The Clasico date on May 11 with Barcelona is like the next big circle on the calendar. Some outlets say that Brazil will wait on Ancelotti. Anything is possible at this point, with some even saying that Ancelotti might end up in Saudi Arabia at Al Hilal if their manager Jorge Jesus ends up becoming the Brazilian manager instead of him. Who knows?More Espresso on Friday on the SDH Network, presented by Oglethorpe University.
