A space for a twenty-something-year-old girl to share her lessons and learnings as she navigates the rollercoaster of adulthood. There is no set theme here, we'll dabble on many topics such as business, spirituality, lifestyle, holistic health, fitness, travel, wealth creation and so much more.
Helloooooooo it's meeee! I'm back with another chat woohoo. It's been a hot minute and I have a lot to update you all on. Also how is it season 5? Isn't that insane!!! I've been doing this since 2020 and we've recorded over 111 episodes that's nuts and I am so proud of myself!Hosting a podcast is a lot of hard work, iykyk, and at this stage in my life, my podcast acts as a bit of a brain dump, oral journal, life documentation so I can go back and listen to it again in 20+ years and criiiiinge, hehe jk! So welcome back, those that have been around since the beginning, THANK YOU!! Literally means so much, hopefully you've learned a thing or two along the way. Much love xx
We are baaaack with another guest episode - I had the pleasure of chatting to Isabella Jansen who is a business advisor and coach. Her entrepreneurial journey started in her early twenties, opening two massage clinics, before eventually selling her client base and launching her coaching business! We chat about the challenges of entrepreneurship, what's involved with preparing a business for sale, leasing commercial property and the importance of having someone in your corner so that you don't go through business alone.
If you think back to yourself in 2019, and where you wanted to be in 5 years time, is that your current reality? All going well, if you have dedicated your life to one of growth and alignment, you should essentially be, where you once dreamed of.... I was recently reminded in a podcast about how much can change in 5 years - so I took it as an opportunity to reflect on where I was in 2019 at th young age of 22, to where I am now at 27. I also took it as a chance to envision where I want to be when I am 32, which will happen in the blink of an eye. So tell me, where you do you want to in 5 years? Or should I say, who do you want to be? Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
This episode was so fun to record! I asked ChatGPT to analyse my birth chart with specific questions around my life purpose and the ideal location of where I should settle down. Now I know ChatGPT answers based on a whole load of information and data but it's still so fun to use it as a tool in this way to help me to think about things differently. It's answers have helped me ponder a lot and they act as good journal prompts too. To follow what I did, head to Astroseek and input your birth information, download your chart and then upload it to ChatGPT with a prompt asking it to analyse your chart. It also helps to repeat your birth information again too!Happy predicting / creating your future! xx Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
It's weird calling it a challenge because it's just my life now - but let's recap on my 8-week challenge to lose some weight and heal my gut. I am so proud of myself for what I achieved, the discipline and new habits I created, and the information I educated myself on to ensure I continue to nourish my body in a happy and healthy way going forward. Food truly is medicine and I've never felt so mentally stable, and hormonally regulated in my life. Here's to forever of thriving!!! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
It's very common to let ourselves down first before anyone else, and that's because we often believe we don't deserve the best, we put everyone before ourselves and when something has to give, it usually is the commitments we make to oneself. In this episode, we dive deep into the science behind keeping your word, why we do it, and how it leads to a tarnished self-trust. Then we touch on, identifying when you need tough love and when you need to be kind to yourself because both are important! Enjoy the ep xo Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Are you someone who lacks boundaries? Says yes to everything but doesn't actually sit back and think about whether this is something you want or have the capacity to do? In this episode I chat to you about what having no boundaries has cost me, how I learned that I needed them, and what I started doing to implement them. Then I chat a bit about rejection therapy which is something I have seen doing the rounds on tiktok - basically it's the idea of putting yourself in situations where you are likely to be rejected, sounds scary right?! So yeah....it's been 6 weeks! Hey guysss!! August and September are notoriously hibernation months for me, it's the thick of Winter, no public holidays in sight, and I'm hanging on by a thread waiting for warmer days. Well we've almost dug ourselves out of this little trough and I'm ready to feel more alive and thrive as we head into Kiwi Summer! Time flies when you're having fun and I CANNOT BELIEVE we have three months left of 2024 - let's make them count. xx Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Hello, my friends - in this episode, I share my financial journey from saving as a child, putting my scholarship money in term deposits, purchasing our first home, investing in shares, and now looking ahead to the future. We've all grown up believing that speaking about money and wanting to earn money is taboo! But we're slowly learning that this isn't the case - and having a plan in place to create wealth for you and your future family is the absolute bare minimum to get by. I hope this episode inspires you to take your finances seriously, and at the very least, you should gain an understanding on your income versus expenses. Click below to chat with us! I can't believe that it's been a whole ass year since I left on my escapade to Colombia!!! That just blows my mind. Life is flying by at rapid speed, but you all know there is nothing I love more than stopping to reflect. It is a valuable tool in identifying how far you've come - join me in this episode as we reminisce on some of my social media posts from my time in Colombia and I also give you an inside scoop into my journal whilst abroad. This exercise brought back a lot of mems, and empathy for my past self, she went through ALOT and I am SO PROUD of her (me) !!!! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
As requested, I have bought the sissy back for round 2! In this ep we discuss our experiences with solo travel, and how we both did it differently. We touch on where our wanderlust originates, challenges and lessons abroad, and advice for those wanting to solo travel, especially for the girlies out there. And just like that another quarter bites the duuuuust! I can't believe we are in Quarter 3. We have 6 months left to create 2024 into whatever our heart desires. Now that we're halfway through the year, I can confidently say I've been loving the 12 week year. It's an easy way to structure my goals, and it also forces me to reflect and pivot as necessary. In recent years, when I've looked at the 12 months ahead, it's all seemed so daunting, but having specific goals to achieve in a 3 month period has been such a fun way to boost my confidence and motivation!! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Earlier in the year I created my own little 6-week challenge that was achievable, sustainable and fun. After doing 75 hard last year, I realised I thrive and get shit done when I have structure, however, I wanted to spice things up a bit as 75 hard is not sustainable at all. Join me in this episode as I chat about my 6 week challenge, what I learned, what I achieved in that time, and whether it worked as a mechanism to building more discipline. We're back with another guest episode, which is with one of my besties this time! Johnelle has been on the poddy quite a few times, and we always love recording a podcast to check in on our lives, give you all an update, and honestly to get #realandraw with you. In this long chat (grab a cuppa) we talk about our career progression, shifting identities, managing one million priorities and burnout. A girly chat for the soul that we hope you'll love. It is sheeeeee, I'm back! It has certainly been a hot minute since I last sat down to record an episode. Today in this episode I bring you a one month recap on my new job, how is it already been a month?! Time flies when you're having fun baby, and I AM! I love my new job, my colleagues, the work I'm doing, and how healthy the workplace is. Could almost cry happy tears! She's back with another episodeeee! Today I wanted to chat to you about messy action and how it is the one thing in my life that has always helped me to GET SH*T DONE. As a recovering perfectionist, taking small and imperfect steps toward a goal has helped immensely in boosting my self-confidence and motivation to keep going. If you're starting a business, a project, a new job, or perhaps you want to go on a solo travel trip. Take this ep as your sign to take that first step and get it done! Click below to chat with us! Oh, it's a bit of a scandalous topic hitting your ears today! I felt really called to chat about this, especially in the midst of returning to the corporate world on a part-time basis after full-time self-employment. And I'm not the only one, there is a certain allure in the air at the moment to be in a secure 9-5 job rather than taking the risk of starting your own business. There are a few factors that come into play here, and it also massively depends on your business experience, your financial goals and what you want your lifestyle to be. This topic is important because entrepreneurship isn't for everyone. If it was easy, everyone would do it. And it is far from easy! It's hard work and it's worth it if you offer a good product or service that you're willing to dedicate at least the next 5 to 10 years towards. Join me on this authentic chat about business versus employment. Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
It's my first sissy chat and I am SO EXCITED to bring you none other than my amazing sister, Emily! She's a force to be reckoned with, and I am so incredibly proud of her journey. We chat all about her university career studying a Bachelor of Engineering with a major in Mechatronics and how she navigated being the only girl in her class.
Yip, you read that right....ya girl is going back to work! But why? Don't worry I'll still be running The Sweet Spot and Something New Socials. However, I felt the call to return to a job for a variety of reasons, here's a few: - belonging to a team!! - having an office set-up - work fraaaands (I miss Xmas Do's hahah) - having somewhere to go & dressing up - secure pay cheque is also nice (especially in this economy) - big financial goals this year, so my job will pay for the bills & business is cherry on top! It's going to be a huge adjustment considering I haven't stepped foot in an office for two whole years, but I am here for this next season and I will be offering my self grace as I adapt. Join me in a powerful chat as I discuss my learnings and takeaways from an event hosted by Ben Warren (Founder of BePure). A lot of the teachings he mentioned were from Eckhart Tolle and his book The Power of Now of which I have read half of. Grab a cuppa and sit down for this one, today I'm taking you on a rollercoaster of a deep & meaningful chat with my friend Tessa from Align & Be Free. I'm so excited for you to listen to this ep as it's been the most authentic one I've recorded in a while - speaking completely from the heart space. Tessa is a 33-year-old mother of one boy, working full-time as a Life & Health Adviser for an insurance company. It's time I let you all in on the new branch of my business! As most of you know I'm a marketing girly, and have been specialising in content creation for the past four years. A few years ago I saw the offering of wedding content creation over in the States and I kept my eye on it, and now fast forward to 2023/24, it's becoming a fast-growing trend within Australia and New Zealand! So I thought I'd shoot my shot because all I would be doing is transferring the skills and experience I already have to another industry! I've had 10 bookings in my first two months and I can't wait to see where I can scale this business to. Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
It's been a hot minute since I've set myself some kind of challenge or journey to stick to - and I'm no stranger in admitting that the best way for me to get sh*t done is to have some kind of structured routine. I'm currently in a season where I've come off the back of one of the most exciting times of my life (getting married) and with that came a lot of celebrations and going with the flow. Last week we returned from a week in Fiji for our honeymoon - it was such a great time but now I'm looking forward to putting my head down and smashing out some goals.... And so I introduce to you the Do Not Disturb Diaries - you've seen me do 75 Hard and 100 Day Challenges, so listen to the episode to see what's next! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Let's review my first 12 week year together, or more commonly known as the first quarter of the year. Listen to S3:E4 to get more of an explanation behind the 12 week year and how it can enhance focus and productivity. Join me as I chat about what I achieved, what I flunked on and why. And then we round off the episode by setting some fresh goals for Quarter Two! If you're also following the same framework, I'd love to chat about how Quarter One went for you. :) Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Welcome to the first guest ep of Season 4! And this one is for the marketing gals & guys! If you want to know how to get more out of your content marketing, then this ep is for you. Join us, as Callum and I chat about what evergreen content is, why it's important for business and how you can create your own. We then dive further into current trends, Callum provides us with some quick-fire tips and tricks, and then we randomly end the episode with a bit of a summary on my current offerings as a business (incl my very new AND COOL wedding content creation). So if this sounds a little like your jam, be sure to give it a listen. Over the last 6+ years, he has developed a content marketing agency, coached clients, and started, built and exited a handful of companies. In his current role, he helps B2B service businesses to go from ‘not knowing when the next client will show up' to ‘owning a 24/7 customer-getting machine that works in your sleep'. He also runs The Reforestation Fund, a charity that uses content to share the stories of people helping the environment." Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Have you been wondering how people with smaller followings are receiving free product from brands? Well that's me. I'm a UGC content creator and have been taking it seriously since the end of Nov 2023. In this episode, I chat about what exactly is UGC (user generated content) and then I get into answering some questions that I came through Instagram. In 3 months, I've worked with over 20 brands, and secured my first paid deal within 6 weeks of pitching. Being a UGC creator is one of those things that people say "that looks easy, I want to do it." But there's a lot more to it, and thankfully my background in marketing has made the transition a breeze. If you think it might be for you, give this ep a listen and then feel free to DM me if you have any further questions. X Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Get ready for a spicy ep that will blow your mind - most of us are all on our own personal healing journeys, that for the most part don't look pretty. Personal growth requires discipline and a willingness to let go of everything you've ever known. I watched a Tiktok a while ago that shifted my whole perspective around my growth and development and that no matter how hard it gets, I need to keep going. In this ep you will hear the audio file of the analogy and then we will unpack it together! ENJOY X Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
This episode is a bit of an anomaly as it's more of a life update than a episode that teaches you all something - but I hope you all still enjoy it nonetheless. Our wedding day was the 2nd of March 2024 and it was literally one of the best days of our lives! So much fun, love and good vibes. Join me in this ep as I take you through the festivities leading up to the big day, the thoughts and feelings I had as we motioned through the day and the aftermath. We will be back next week with a juicy ep. Much Love, Mrs Mackenzie-Aull Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Mid Jan 2024 marked one whole year of being self employed and without the guarantee of a secure income! To say I was naive when I left my job was an understatement but when you're responsible for your income, you make it work. And that I did. The focus on 2023 was slowing down, and having fun whilst making enough money to sustain my bills. Now in 2024, I'm feeling the urge to build, scale and create even more abundance so that's what I touch on in this episode. The launch of a new business, failed offerings, the challenges I've overcome and so much more... Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
It's Feb but don't fret! If you're still sussing out your life for 2024 let this episode be the catalyst to set your goals for this year. 2023 was the year of feminine energy, rest and flow for me. I feel incredibly grateful that I was able to have that time to reset my nervous system after 3 years of burnout (LOL). 2024 feels spicy and I'm ready to take action! Which is why I'm trialing the 12 week year, a productivity framework that is based on the notion of structuring your goals by quarter. I've set my goals for Quarter One and I go through them with you in this week's episode. If the 12 week year intrigues you and you wanna give it a go, flick me a DM and we can be accountability buddies! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
So yeah...if you haven't been following my personal IG you wouldn't know that I went into the mountains of Colombia and drunk ayahuasca whaaaaat! If you don't know what aya is, it's a plant medicine that has healing properties for mental illnesses. It also has psychedelic aspects to it which is why it has gained popularity as a "drug" in the new age spirituality world. But first and foremost it's a medicine and I went to Colombia with a curiosity to try it but not an expectation that I HAD to. I managed to find a retreat in my last week in Colombia....and well you'll have to listen to the episode to find out more! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Happy New Year Special Humans!! That's right it's a new year and she's making a comeback as she does every January! I have sooooo much to catch you guys up on from Bali, to Colombia, to doing Ayahuasca in Colombia, coming home, struggling in my biz, planning the wedding. LIFE IS FULL right now! But it's such a blessing! 2023 was the most transformative year of my life in a long time due to my two overseas travel experiences and I just know that 2024 is going to be next level. I can't wait to navigate this year with you all - now tell me, how have you guys been? Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Hola mi amors! She's back with a special bonus episode to update you all on my once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to Colombia.
Hello poddy fam! I'm sad to announce that this is the finale of Season 3. I've appreciated all of your ears this season, but it's gotten to a point where I need to focus on my overseas travels and I'll be back in your ears later in the year with Colombia content.
In this ep, I am joined by Gemma Tough - mindset and business coach. We grace your ears with the sacrifices required to build a business. We get really vulnerable on the behind-the-scenes struggles of our businesses
A topical question in my life as I consciously step more into more of a human being rather than a human doing. When things feel hard, you have to ask yourself whether this is an opportunity to learn and grow or if this is the Universe telling you that this job, relationship, or situation is not for you? Because there are two parts to it, do you need to be called out on your shit or is this situation truly not in alignment with your values and who you want to be??
It's done! She did it! I have successfully completed 75 Hard and in this episode, I share with you my biggest learnings. As I type this it is literally Day 1 of completing it so I'm still processing what I have just achieved and thinking about ways to celebrate.
She's a short and snappy ep this week but that doesn't mean she's any less jam-packed with golden nuggies! May 2023 marks one year of working from home and I'm confident that I've found my groove and what works for me to produce great output while also having a good quality of life. You all know that mental and physical health are at the forefront of every decision I make and that philosophy underpins the five things I've learned this year. I also catch you up to speed on what's been happening in my world, where I'm at with 75 Hard, and how my business has been going! Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
Ok this chat was so fun! Having Emily on from the Hot No Matter What Podcast honestly felt like a catch-up with a friend. As part of 75 HARD, I can't drink alcohol, I'm roughly two months in and it's the longest I've not had a bevvy in my adult life. And Emily has not had a sip of alcohol since the end of last year. So we're both in the midst of our "not drinking era" so we thought it was only appropriate to dive into the chat of "sober curiosity" which has become quite a trendy buzzword in recent months. In this episode, we discuss:
I don't think I've ever had someone on the show so enthusiastic about their craft!! It's an absolute pleasure to grace you with the high-vibe energy of Isabelle Prestia, a Marketing Coach, Podcast Host, Content Creator, Meditation Teacher. In this episode, we had a potent chat about looking for the positives in shitty situations, how to manifest your dream life and the number one thing that is stopping you from taking the next step in your evolution. A jam-packed chat that will leave you feeling energised and inspired. I can't wait for you to listen. Isabelle's Links Website & Instagram Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
This is one juicy ep ~ I had the pleasure of speaking with Ethan for the second time and he never ceases to amaze me with his wisdom and truth bombs.
Day 37! I'm at the halfway point for 75 Hard and I didn't even realise it. I know when we last chatted about the challenge I was umming and ahhing about doing 30 days or the whole thing - and it's safe to say I would've been sad if I stopped at 30 days because I'm loving the journey and process and I don't want it to end. I bet you thought you'd never hear me say that haha - in this ep I touch on the rollercoaster of emotions, what it feels like mentally and physically to have no rest days, and then I get a wee bit vulnerable and share some of my journal entries from the past month or so to give you an insight into what it's really been like. I hope this inspires some of you to give it a go - my DMs are always open if you want to chat. Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
This ep is a long one but she's a goodie! Grab a cuppa and sit down to hear Steph and I chat about all things self-employment and digital nomad life. Steph was on the podcast in March 2021 (S1:E28). In her first ep we chatted about gender pay, achieving work-life balance and making bold decisions. So if that sounds like a bitta you, I highly recommend that you listen to that episode first. In true Steph fashion, a lot has changed for her so I wanted to get her back on to update us all on how her life has shifted in the past two years. She is now full-time self-employed and we chatted about the obstacles that come with that journey such as cashflow issues, and tying your self-worth to your work. Then we deep dive into navigating full-time travel in Southeast Asia as someone who doesn't have the security of a guaranteed income. It was such an insightful conversation and it has made me realise that it's a lot more doable than most people think. Steph's Instagram & Website Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
If I've learned one thing from recording this episode it's that the mum and parenting scene can be judgy as heck. If you prioritise your physical and mental health you're selfish, and if you don't you're not looking after yourself to be the best version of yourself for your child. Like with anything, no matter what you do, people will have something to say, so you might as well do what makes you happy right? In this episode, I'm joined by Tiree, a new Mum, and women's online trainer and coach. She teaches from experience, having realised the importance of structured and intentional training in her own journey of pre and post-partum. Tiree's Instagram & Website Click below to chat with us! Meditation - it's such a buzzword, we've all heard it's good to practice meditation to give our minds a break - but what is the true power of it? In today's ep I speak with meditation expert Caroline about her teaching practices, how she got into meditation, and how it has changed her life. Now I know meditation isn't for everyone, it wasn't for me for almost 5 years until I seriously committed to meditating for 100 days straight and now rarely a day goes by where I don't sit down and meditate. I can wholeheartedly say it has been one of those tools and practices that has been integral to my personal and mental growth. If you're on the fence about meditating, or think it's too 'woo woo' for yah, give this poddy a listen! Caroline's Instagram & Caroline's Website Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
I've bought my girl Storm from Functional Naturopathy back for round two! If you haven't listened to our first ep, and want to learn all about healthy hormones, check out Season 2, Ep 11. In today's ep we dive deep into the idea of investing in one's self - we cover why it's important, the ways in which Storm and myself have invested in ourselves, and what the signs of burnout are. Finally, we also touch on how fantastic Storm's facilitated retreats are (I'm speaking from experience). I attended Storm's cacao ceremony in May 2022 and still to this day it was one of the most transformational weekends of my life. Excitingly she has another retreat coming up soon at the end of April, the Nourish Wellness Retreat. To hear more about all the juiciness of natural healing, tune in to the ep. Learning a new language is hand-downs one of the hardest things I've ever had to do - it'll test you in ways you could've never imagined, and make you question everything you've ever known. Now I know I'm not exactly selling it to you haha, but it will be one of the most rewarding things you ever do because it requires a high level of commitment and consistency, especially if your goal is to reach fluency. I've been learning Spanish since March 2022 (almost a year) and I have just under 6 months until I go to Colombia, and I still have a lot to learn - in this episode I touch on the tips and tricks I've learned so far. I hope you enjoy :) Click below to chat with us! Instagram & Facebook
