Reverend Goff preached from Acts 2:39-40, centering on the declaration "You cannot save yourself." He explained that salvation is granted by God, not earned by human effort, yet it requires surrender and action: repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and receiving the Holy Ghost. He warned against passive religion, such as merely signing cards or confessing to a man, insisting that true transformation comes from submitting to God's plan. Reverend Goff preached from Romans 12:1-2, urging believers to present their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is their reasonable service. He emphasized that this sacrifice requires not being conformed to the world but being transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that one may prove the good, acceptable, and perfect will of God. The sermon argued that salvation is not a matter of merely calling on the Lord or reciting a sinner's prayer; it is the full apostolic message of repentance, baptism in Jesus' name, and receiving the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues. Reverend Goff illustrated that believers are grafted into the true vine through Christ's mercy, not by human achievement or tradition. He contrasted the temporary nature of earthly possessions with the enduring promise of God, who never revokes His gifts. Using David's prayer of repentance from Psalm 51, he encouraged the congregation to seek a clean heart and a renewed spirit, not for personal benefit only but so that they might teach transgressors God's ways and see sinners converted. The ultimate call was to press on toward the perfect will of God, laying aside personal ambition and tradition to obey the commands of Jesus as recorded in Acts 2:38.

Reverend Savala preaches from Psalm 139 on the inescapable presence of God. He contrasts being merely aware of God's presence with truly possessing it through a transformed life. Using David's example of a flawed man who pursued God, and the story of Jacob finding God in Bethel despite his deceit, Savala argues that many people today want a casual touch of God's presence without the commitment it demands. This week we are joined by David Allen, author of the international bestseller Getting Things Done: The Art of Stress-Free Productivity. Do you ever feel like you have so many things to get done that you just don't know where to start? Or maybe every night you wake up a dozen times with things that pop into your head and you just can't get a good night of sleep. These are the things that David set out to fix in his own life over 30 years ago, and since then he has helped tens of thousands of other people get things done using the methodology he came up with. We can all use help being more productive and focused in life and at work. Especially now when a lot of us are still working from home with our kids and life has become more complicated and chaotic. The framework you can use for stress-free productivity David's Getting Things Done Methodology framework is made up of five key action items. They are: Capture--identify what has your attention and write it down, record it, or gather everything into a collection tool Clarify--Once you have identified what has your attention, process what it means. Are there any action items that they require? If yes, then write down all the actions you need to take. If not, figure out if it's trash, something to just remember, or something to put on hold Organize--Now that you know what has your attention and what you need to do about it, put reminders up where you will see them and organize the details in a place you will look at Review--Frequently look back on all of your reminders and lists and make sure to keep it updated Engage--Go and get things done By using these steps you get all of the unnecessary things out of your head so you can focus on what needs to get done today, right now. As David shares, there are going to be times when life gets chaotic, there are going to be fires you have to put out occasionally. Having these steps in place in order to get everything else under control will help you to better address those issues when they come up, because you can focus on the fire and know that when it is out you know exactly where to pick up and carry on. What is ambient anxiety and how can we overcome it? When you don't have a process in place to deal with all of your tasks, commitments, ideas, etc..that's when you get stressed out and things feel out of control. These things wake you up at night and cause you a great deal of worry during the day. Ambient anxiety is the stress of infinite opportunity. This anxiety not only can affect your health and well-being, but it stops you from being present in the moment while you are trying to work on any one thing, because your mind is always racing and thinking of other things. Using David's five part framework can really get these things under control. Write things down, get them organized in one place, set reminders--just get these things out of your mind and in a reliable place that you will see when you need to. Most people have not yet identified that this is their problem, and that this is what is keeping them from being productive. Why saying no is so important to productivity A big part of the Getting Things Done process is your ability to say ‘no' to commitments. Every time you commit to something you are saying no to other things you could be doing instead. So you have to make sure that what you say yes to lines up with your goals and priorities. But before you can start to say no to things, first you have to know what it is you are trying to accomplish. If you are not sure what it is you should be working on, how can you explain why you are saying no to something else? This is another reason why writing things down is so crucial. And saying no doesn't have to sound mean or rude. If your boss comes to you and gives you more work you could go to them and say “You know, these are great projects that you just gave to me. Can I show you what I currently have on my plate and can we talk about the priority of them, because I can't do them all. If these are more critical, I will need to let something else go.” You could also say something like, “If you can take a maybe on that, I'll take a look at what I have and I'll get back to you. If you have to have an answer now, it's gotta be a no” or “Can you check in with me in a month”. So really think about the commitments you have already before committing to new things. Being overcommitted is a sure way to be less productive and stressed out. David's advice for people who want to start being more productive TODAY For anyone reading this or listening to the show who would like to start being more focused and productive today, here is what David recommends: Have a pen and paper around you at all times, and anytime something important pops into your head that requires action, write it down. Once you write those things down figure out what next step is required to address each item After you have action items figure out if you can complete any of those in that moment, and if not make sure you put a reminder where you or the appropriate person will see it so that you don't have to keep that information in your head Review these on a regular basis What to do if you don't know where to start After reading this or listening to the podcast you may be thinking to yourself, I'm just so overwhelmed, this all makes sense but I have no idea where to start. For those of you who feel this way, David says just take an hour to sit down and unload everything from your mind. Make a list of everything and get it out of your head. Having it out of your head can help you be more objective about the list of things. It will make you feel more comfortable. Any one thing floating around in your head can stress you out, but by getting it out and on to paper can help that anxiety. As David shares, “Otherwise, it's spinning around subliminally in there. That's the source of the ambient anxiety is all that internal spinning about all the potential things you might, could, should you be doing. But you can't see what they all are. So you think it could be anything. And psychologically that's a great way to feel stressed.”

Reverend Merriman opens by declaring that God wants to restore the years the locust have eaten and to recover all that the enemy has stolen. He reads 1 Samuel 30:1-2, where David and his men return to Ziklag to find it burned and their families taken captive. The preacher emphasizes that the enemy, the thief, comes to steal, kill, and destroy, but God's word has the power to stir the heart and bring conviction. He warns against a seared conscience that cannot feel the word's impact and calls for a passion for Scripture and worship. Using David's example, he shows that when the people turned against David, David encouraged himself in the Lord and inquired of God. God's answer was clear: "Pursue, for thou shalt surely overtake them and without fail recover all." Reverend Merriman applies this to the congregation: the enemy has stolen their joy, passion, worship, and prayer life, but if they will pursue God and His truth, they will recover all. He expands the meaning of "recover" to include being pulled out of a rut of dead habit, and he invokes Joel 2:23-25, where God promises to restore the years lost to locusts. The sermon's purpose is to stir the people to pursue revival, recover what has been stolen, and let God restore everything the enemy has taken.

Reverend Merriman preaches from Ezekiel 34:11-14 on God's promise to gather His scattered sheep and cause them to lie down in a good fold. Using David's testimony in Psalm 23, he explains that a sheep can only rest when it is free from fear of predators, friction within the flock, irritating pests, and hunger. He identifies these four conditions with spiritual realities: the believer must be freed from fear of the enemy through the shepherd's presence, from internal strife by focusing on Christ, from sin and carnality through the anointing and correction, and from spiritual hunger by feeding on God's Word. Reverend Merriman warns that an unsettled, anxious church cannot attract the world and emphasizes that the shepherd's nearness resolves these issues. He concludes by describing the 'cast down' sheep — a sheep that falls on its back and cannot right itself — and assures that even longtime believers can struggle and need help to be restored, but they remain valuable to the flock. The sermon's purpose is to call believers to submit to the Good Shepherd so they can experience true rest, peace, and safety in His fold.

Reverend Herring preaches from Psalm 69:9, 'For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up,' to call the congregation to a consuming passion for revival. He argues that revival is not merely a hoped-for event but a present promise that demands personal possession. Drawing on Isaac's re-digging of his father Abraham's wells (Genesis 26), he illustrates that believers must clear away spiritual debris—apathy, routine, and complacency—to restore the apostolic power and authority that belongs to them by covenant. The preacher contrasts the five wise and five foolish virgins (Matthew 25) to emphasize that having enough oil—fresh Holy Ghost experience—is not optional; the church must have more than enough to supply a needy world. He rejects religious formalism, declaring that excitement cannot be artificially generated and that apathy is a form of slavery. Passion, not pedigree or ability, separates victim from victor. Using David's challenge against Goliath and the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace, he shows that passion fuels supernatural courage and endurance. He warns that the greatest tragedy is losing the wonder of redemption. The sermon calls for personal, consuming zeal that will make the church unstoppable, spark new ministries, songs, and books, and draw the lost. He closes with an altar invitation, urging each person to ask God for a fresh passion for revival.

Pastor Hilton preaches from Joel 2:25, declaring that God wants to restore the years the locust has eaten. Using David's life as a narrative, he traces the king's journey from anointing to exile to his lowest point at Ziklag, where the Amalekites burned the city and carried off every family member. Facing a mob that wanted to stone him, David ‘encouraged himself in the Lord' and inquired of God, who answered, ‘Pursue, for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.' After two days of fierce battle, David recovered every person and every possession. The preacher insists that the altar—a place of prayer, fasting, and brokenness—is the only path back to what has been lost. He applies the text to the congregation: God wants to restore old-fashioned revival, red-hot prayer meetings, and the spiritual ground that has been given away by neglect, compromise, or backsliding. The message is a call to pursue God with urgency and humility, because restoration is promised but requires a wholehearted response.

Pastor Hilton preaches from Philippians 3:13-14 on faithfully pressing toward the mark despite past failures, present trials, and spiritual opposition. He emphasizes that Paul, writing from prison, forgot his murderous past and pressed forward, setting an example for believers. The Christian life is a battle requiring determined pressing, not an easy path. Using David and Goliath as an illustration, Pastor Hilton highlights how David pressed past criticism and fear, reminding the congregation that others may try to tear them down, but they must keep pressing. He also cites Josiah, who turned neither left nor right and brought revival to Israel. The preacher stresses the need to take up the shield of faith daily, quoting Ephesians 6:16, to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. Without faith, it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). He reminds the church that the Holy Spirit helps their infirmities (Romans 8:26) and that all things work together for good to those who love God (Romans 8:28). Reverend Mills preaches on the believer's responsibility to rescue souls from Satan, who is described as a roaring lion roaming the earth seeking whom he may devour. Drawing from 1 Peter 5:8, Jude 23, and 1 Samuel 17, he contrasts Satan's predatory nature with the believer's call to pull people out of the fire. Using David's confrontation with Goliath as a model, he emphasizes that David spoke in faith, declaring his past victories over the lion and bear and his future victory over the Philistine. The message culminates in a passionate appeal for a burden for souls, warning that time is short and the door is closing, urging the church to actively win souls and teach Bible studies.

Pastor Hilton preaches on God preparing a table for His people in the presence of their enemies, drawing from Psalm 23:5. He emphasizes that despite the devil's attacks, God is greater and His provision is assured. Using David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17) and Elisha's servant (2 Kings 6), he illustrates that the battle belongs to the Lord and that one stone is enough when God acts. He encourages believers not to grow weary, to stir up the gift of God within them (2 Timothy 1:6), and to look to the Lord even when friends fail (Micah 7:7). The sermon concludes with a call to praise and to stand assured that God's protection and victory are sure. The sermon's spiritual purpose is to call hearers to repentance, humility, and a desperate dependence on God's manifest presence, so that they may march to victory with him. He closes by urging the congregation to make sure God is marching with them in lockstep, not trusting in their own abilities but in God alone.

Reverend Lynch preaches from 1 Samuel 30 on how believers can overcome devastating circumstances by learning to encourage themselves in the Lord. Using David's crisis at Ziklag—where his family was taken, his city burned, and his own men threatened to stone him—he shows that the turning point came when David stopped waiting for human encouragement and instead strengthened himself in God. The preacher argues that too many Christians are ruled by circumstances instead of ruling over them. He illustrates with the image of Jesus walking on the storm that was about to sink the disciples, and uses the story of a distracted naval pilot who crashed because he lost focus. He draws parallels to Jacob wrestling alone with God until he was changed from a deceiver to a prince, and the prodigal son who came to himself when he had no one left to help him. Once David did that, God told him to pursue, overtake, and recover all. The message calls for a decisive shift from self-pity to self-encouragement, from defense to offense, and from being affected by trials to affecting them—ultimately taking back everything the enemy has stolen.
