What if leadership wasn't a title, but a toolbelt? In this insightful and energizing episode, Denis sits down with Jack Cohen, founder of Dark Knight Ventures and former CEO of Cohen Financial, to unpack the deeper essence of leadership. Did you know that a survey of over 4,100 young men from Brazil, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and Uganda revealed that menstruation is still considered taboo around the world? In fact, many associate periods with words like ‘dirty,' ‘embarrassing,' and ‘disgusting.' This deep-seated stigma is something women and girls are taught to internalize, making us feel shame around a natural biological process. But today, we're changing that narrative.Welcome to Risky Conversations. I'm Jamie Lee, a certified integrative hypnotist and executive coach, and I work with women to help them achieve career growth, even when they're the only one—or one of the few—in the room.In today's episode, I'm speaking with Lizzy Palmer, Founder and CEO of Sync N, a fitness app designed specifically for women's menstrual cycles. We dive intoThe challenges of talking about periods, uteruses, and hormonal fluctuations without them becoming punchlines in male-dominated spaces. We also explore the risky conversations Lizzy has taken as an entrepreneurThe value of asserting your desires (even if it means being labeled unlikable as a woman leader) And the health benefits of adapting both your fitness and work schedules to your cycle.Learn more about Sync N: Website https://syncnapp.com/Instagram https://www.instagram.com/syncnapp/Text me your thoughts on this episode!Enjoy the show? When a band jumps from record label to record label, the typical stereotype is not the best for the band. But what about a band that graduates from small developmental label, to a larger developmental label, to a major label, in under 3 years? That is success that needs to be noticed.Couple that with a brand new album, an evolving sound around their core roots, and the will and tenacity to try and become the next breakout band following in the footsteps of Spiritbox, Bad Omens, and Sleep Token, and you have an emerging powerhouse on your hands.Patrick and Hayden from the metalcore band If Not For Me rejoin the Chord Progression Podcast for the 3rd time, right before the release of their second album, Everything You Wanted. What is IntoTheBlock? So the idea that the overarching idea about IntoTheBlock was to enable intelligence for cryptographic assets as a whole class. In traditional capital markets, you're seeing a lot of movements from traditional vehicles to more machine learning vehicles. So for instance, one fund have been having a horrible three years. So you're saying funds like Renaissance, everybody's having a hard time and it's still, you see a lot of capital fluctuating from discretionary to quant, we're seeing a proliferation of robo advisors, automated insurance, things like that. So in crypto being 100% of the asset class, you will think that's the only way this is going to go right all phones are going to require there is going to be 300 million robo advisors. The problem is that the intelligence layer and analytics layer that you need to build those products is still very nascent. So IntoTheBlock was created to solve that problem to enable analytics and intelligence and discover new indicators that could better inform institutional retail investors about the asset class. And now after getting some traction we started building what is called intelligence services on quant strategies and advisory strategies, on top of that analytics layer is already using all the signals and intelligence that the underlying platform provides.
https://propertyplanning.com.au/propertyplannerbuyerprofessor/In this week's episode, Dave, Cate and Pete take you through:Market update1. Thank you for your feedbackWe've received a number of listener reviews that are insightful and also gave us honest feedback, which we really appreciate. One was in relation to past performance bias, specifically whether past performance reliably predicts future performance and also the impact of our own personal biases. The Property Buyer acknowledges this feedback and hints at a future episode that will address human biases.2. The state of retail propertyIn the most recent JLL quarterly retail market report, the CBD retail vacancy rate in Adelaide is the highest it's ever been since 1993 at 16.8%. Regional retail has only a 3% vacancy rate. However, ‘regional' in the retail sense has a different meaning to residential property. The Property Professor explains all in his market update.3. Inflation is the talk of the town, but is it here to stay?Increasing inflation should lead to increasing wages, but most people assume that it equates to increased interest rates, making many nervous. Underlying inflation in Australia jumped to a six-year high of 2.1% in the September quarter, which is still well below the 4.6% experienced in the US. This level of inflation is only at the lower end of what the RBA targets, (being between 2% to 3%). The Property Planner talks through the factors that create upwards pressure on inflation, the RBA's response and whether inflation at this level is sustainable.Considerations for upgraders1. How does upgrading fit into your property plan? The earlier you can start planning for your long-term home, the better. However this does come down to stage of life, and often people are not able to picture their future home until they've reached a certain level of stability or decided on the location that they want to live in. Understanding how your investment decisions and other lifestyle purchases fit in with your decision to upgrade is also key to making successful long-term purchases. For some, the long-term home may be out of reach due to stage of life or circumstances. For some who aren't ready to upgrade, rent-vesting or a stepping stone home may be the right choice for you.2. Mapping out your future homeMany buyers get hamstrung when it comes to the critical decision making because their search criteria is unreasonable. Having a clear plan on which suburbs to target, property types, architectural styles, land size, bedrooms and living spaces, (to name a few) is key to narrow in your search. Then, to ensure that you don't get bogged down and spin your wheels while the market continues to run away from you, have a plan of what you will be willing to compromise on if your dream home is out of reach.3. Purchasing a property that you can grow intoThe holy grail of property ownership is only ever owning the one home, because each purchase and sale of a property eats into your wealth. Due to changing commitments and affordability, not many are able to achieve their dream home on the first go. However, you may consider buying a home with a larger block size with a smaller dwelling, where you could extend the home as your family grows, to avoid needing to sell.4. Why are money goals so important?Finding a property that you want to live in for the rest of your life can be like finding a needle in a haystack and many are willing to pay an emotional premium to get into their dream home. In this situation, we're more likely to be stretching ourselves to the largest level of debt that we'll ever take on. This is why understanding your cash flow and available funds after purchase is critical, so that you remain within your financial comfort zone and risk profile.5. The age old question - should you buy first or sell first? The trio discuss whether you should sell your existing home first or purchase your upgraded home and then sell. The scarcity of the property you are looking for, the market conditions and the settlement period are critical considerations. The trio share their tips on how to navigate the transactions simultaneously.6. How to keep your current home when you upgradeThe Property Planner explains how mortgage strategy can be utilised so that you are in the best financial position to be able to keep your current home as an investment property when you upgrade. However, you need to get your mortgage strategy right today, or it could be costing you the ability to hold on to that property.7. When is the best time to upgrade? The trio discuss when you should look to upgrade and the dangers of trying to time the market.8. Arranging license agreementsThe Property Buyer shares a hot tip on how you can arrange a licence agreement to occupy the property you've purchased prior to settlement, which can make the moving process smoother and less stressful. Similarly, if you're selling and you've already vacated, you can arrange a licence agreement with the vendor and charge either nominal or market rent during this period.Visit the show notes - https://propertyplanning.com.au/upgrading-and-planning-for-the-long-term-home-how-to-keep-a-home-as-an-investment-buying-or-selling-first-and-more-market-updates-inflation-101-and-the-state-of-commercial-property-ep-128/

Rewinding many, many years, back to my fledgling years as a gigging musician, I found myself at a little invite only showcase concert for an artist named KO during Rifflandia Music Festival in Victoria, in 2010. I can't remember if my drummer and I had won tickets, or if we just showed up in hopes of getting let in - but in any case, we did get in - and, as fate would have it, were sat down next to this episodes guest: Oscar Furtado, owner of Tandemtracks, one of Canadas premier Radio Promotion agencies. We covered a huge variety of topics, ranging from: How your current relationships will affect your career later in lifeWhy Oscar is still trying to build new networking connections, even after all his successThe importance of having passion for what you put your energy intoThe stakes of playing Foosball in Spain. What a radio promoter actually does!and much more! This was one of our favourite conversations to date and Oscar has been a guest that I have been wanting to get onto the Your Band Sucks (At Business) podcast since we started up - and it was a complete blast finally connecting for this. This week I welcome back previous guest Suzanne Waldron – straight-talking behavioural facilitator, TedX Perth Curator and artist. This is a far-ranging conversation offering a number of perspectives of the world we now live in. Among the many things we go into are: Looking into the illusions of life that we’ve all being buying intoThe need to slow the world the fuck down from the previous rush, need to know, constant doing and sellingThe invitation to become more ‘human’ and sit with that – shadow and allDeep diving into Karpman’s drama triangle and how that plays out in life – particularly the role of victim and well-meaning helper in the capitalist contextFeeling into the collective experience that is going on as oppose to individual experiencesHow we’re at the apex of worshipping ourselves as individuals Suzanne also talks about her recent book Sleeping Giants, which provokes further discussion about resilience and an accessing your own sleeping inner giant. This is a playful yet searching conversation and often it’s difficult to work out just exactly who is interviewing who in this conversation. I personally found this a wonderfully nourishing conversation and hope you the listener will too.

Many of us spend much time focued on gaining our power that we forget that there is a reason for it. To fight and pull down the old rotten structures. We aren't menat to fight
Aron Snyder is the President of Kifaru International, a household name and brand in the world of backcountry hunting. When I first heard of Aron, I was commuting to and from work an hour each way and spent a lot of that time learning as much as I could from his experiences via podcasting because at the time, I was beginning to get nice and cozy with the idea of backpack hunting. I needed as much information as possible and that's what I got along with a lot of entertainment.Aron has spent a lot of time in the field learning things that you can only learn IN THE FIELD. He's succeeded, failed, and succeeded again and, as you'll hear in this episode, it's the getting the reps in that count. Nothing is a substitute for miles and time in the backcountry because that's what ACTUALLY teaches you what you need to learn. Once that experience is gained, you'll look back and see that those spreadsheets you made detailing every single nut and bolt you carried with you are actually not so useful after all. You'll no longer care about how much an item weighs because you'll already know that information and you'll know HOW that item fits into your kit and WHY it's there in the first place.Backpacking will become second nature at some point and that's when the doors begin to open for you. This episode with Aron Snyder is littered with incredible insight from a guy who designs packs for a living, runs a backcountry hunting company, and has put a countless amount of hours in the field doing the hard work. When he speaks, listen closely and take he says and apply it to your own backcountry efforts. From getting to know where Aron came from and how he came to work for Kifaru to what ACTUALLY matters out there, it's all in this episode and you'll no doubt come away with some great nuggets of wisdom.By Land,Emory R. When it comes to the disruptions of business many leaders seem to fluctuate between "I Can't Go For That" I'm Wrestling with a "Man Eater" through to "You make my dreams come true"Business as we’ve known it is in a constant state of disruption, which means, we, as leaders have to be constantly shifting changing and innovating. However, many old school leaders want to keep things the way they were, and, all too often, that’s a recipe for disaster. So how do you and I work out what we need to hold onto and what to let go of? On top of that what about those who are in business partnerships? How can we maintain long term partnerships that not only work as creative collaborations, but also grow the partners in the process? Can long term partnerships work in the age of disruption.Well, stay tuned because our guest today has been involved in one of the most disrupted industries for 40+ years. That industry, the music business. He’s also an author whose memoir, Change of Seasons, was published in 2017.John Oates, is one half of, if not, the most famous music duos of their time; Hall & Oates. John Oates was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2004,[2] and in 2014. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, as a member of Hall & Oates.[3] He’s the creator and executive producer for the “7908 the Aspen Songwriters Festival”.On this episode, we go inside not only the music industry but also what's made Hall and Oates last, while other duo/partnership have fallen apart, and what we can learn from this, as leaders. We dive intoThe disruptions in the fickle music business and the impact on them (Hall & Oates) and as a duo. The most important lessons he's been able to impart to his son. We even talk about the famous moustache of his and the cartoon series based on it. The importance of mentors in business, in music and in life. What happens when the fame goes away. We talk about his guilty pleasures, what brings him joy.The most difficult decision he had to make that transformed his life. Why they (Hall & Oates) are on a massive US, Europe, and South American tour right now, and so much more...For more info on John and his projects https://johnoates.comFor more on the Hall and Oates tour dates: hallandoates.comTo find out more about hiring Dov Baron as a speaker or strategist for your organization: http://fullmontyleadership.com/consulting or http://fullmontyleadership.com/speakingRemember you can now also find us on iTunes, Spotify, iHeart Radio, or wherever you tune into podcastsAnd on traditional radio stations across the US every Monday and Thursday on: 99.5 FM & 1520 AM Las Vegas102.1 FM & 1640 AM Lancaster, Philadelphia87.9 FM & 810 AM Macon, Gorgia 92.1 FM & 1630 AM Tampa, Florida97.7 The Villages, Florida96.3 FM Boulder ,Colorado90.3 FM Milwaukee, Wisconsin 94.7 FM Pittsburg, Philadelphia87.9 FM Colorado Springs, ColoradoAlso look for us on ROKU TV where there’s 100K subscribers. In this episode, Teri shares a recording of the talk he did at the Alexa Conference 2019.Teri was recently at the 2019 Alexa Conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and was privileged to give a couple of talks, one of which he was able to broadcast live titled, “No Appointment Necessary; Your Healthcare Team Now Lives in your Home” The talk was about how voice technology is completely changing the way that we are experiencing healthcare, and how this is going to occur over the next number of years. He took the recording of that talk and produced it as a podcast for those of us who didn’t get the opportunity to attend the conference or tune into the live episode. Enjoy the Talk!Scenario: Imagine waking up and feeling like something is off. You have been rolling over in bed, you have a scratched throat, a headache and it’s like you’ve sweating all night. You start thinking you’ll have to call in to work, you don’t know how you’ll get your kids to school, and maybe you need to see the doctor. You drag yourself into the car, drive to the doctor’s (assuming you’ve been able to make an appointment), you wait in the waiting shivering, the doctor says you have to go to the pharmacy to pick up your prescription, so you do it. You go back home and climb into bed. What an ordeal!Healthcare SystemsThere are a lot of great things going on in different healthcare systems but there are also a lot problems.Teri has always struggled to figure out how we can make a change in healthcare systems. Attempts have been made, but things are very much the same. With voice technology, we will be able to radically transform the way that we all experience the whole healthcare journey.Reference: The movie “Elysium”In the movie, people have sick bays (little mini-clinics) in their homes. It gives us an idea of where we could be going in the future. There is no doctor in the picture; it’s all based on what’s going on in the home.We are now in the primitive stages of such a scenario with voice technology, where we can now start to interact with these devices through our voices in a frictionless way such that pressure is taken off the healthcare system and that has a profound impact on patients. The technology has caught up to the fact that we no longer have to adapt to technology, the technology is adapting to us in our most natural form of technology.Changing the way we experience healthcareWe have yet to see a major change in healthcare. The ideal solution comes down to three factors; the right care, the right time, and the right place. The right care: To know the right care for us whenever we feel sickly, we would need some type of resource to explain it to us. British Columbia, Canada has the HealthLink BC line where anyone can call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and get in touch with a health service navigator that gets them in touch with live health care professionals who can advise them accordingly. This type of service can be put intoThe right time: This is a big problem in healthcare. People don’t get the healthcare they need at the exact time they need it. Voice assistants can become the triage nurses in homes, and they can play an important role in determining the right time for someone to get proper healthcare. The right place: It’s always hard to determine where to go when one is feeling sick, for example, the hospital, the doctor’s office, the community clinic, a travel clinic, a therapist’s office, etc.Vocal biomarkersThese are the metadata for voice. The metadata is different in someone’s voice when they say the same thing in different situations.Using algorithms and AI, we can pick out the different patterns in that metadata to make diagnosis, monitor cognitive decline and many other possibilities that haven’t been thought of.Currently, vocal biomarkers can be used to aid in diagnosis. They can be used in real time emotional insights and can detect cognitive diseases.Patient-centered healthcareThe concept is based on the patient being at the centre of the healthcare team and everybody is doing their best to look for the patient, and make sure that the patient is at the forefront of everybody’s mind. The problem with the concept is the maze of bureaucracy in healthcare systems which is very difficult for patients to navigate.Patient-first healthcareSince we are going into “voice first”, we need to think about “patient-first healthcare” where a patient will be the leader of their healthcare. This can be achieved if the patient can tap into the technology in their home, get the guidance they need, and access the healthcare they need, as needed, at the right time and at the right place. The Alexa devices we have in our homes can become little med-bays (little medical clinics). That would relieve so much pressure on the healthcare system and the overworked healthcare workers. It would also greatly improve the patient experience and the overall quality of care.
