Cooperation is empowering and the concept of cooperative procurement is premised on cooperation.  By leveraging cooperative purchasing (where it makes sense) you can enjoy the benefits of economies of scale and greater efficiency in obtaining goods and services. The idea behind such a program is to combine the requirements of several entities to obtain conditions on pricing, volumes, terms, and conditions that you would not obtain otherwise. In this episode of the PGC podcast, procurement veteran Bob Perkins explains how it is helping enhance public agencies' bargaining power and buying efficiencies. Private and public sectors alike can avail of this purchasing method to their advantage but there are certain situations where your gain can be maximum. Catch up with these two procurement experts to get a deep understanding of the benefits of this approach, under what circumstances you should leverage it, and what challenges you may have to encounter on the way.

The handwriting's been on the wall for a while. We're all inside sales now. Probably 10% of account executives are going back to the office after this pandemic's over. Everyone else is selling virtually. The technology is there, and companies are eager to use it. That said, technology alone can't solve sales problems. Technology and sales enablement tools have to improve efficiency. The tools you use need to help and not hinder the experience for salespeople and customers. Let's guard our sellers against technology overload. Let's make sure our tools add value and efficiency and productivity. The best of the best selling happens when there is trust. Let's slow things down a bit. We don't have to race to turn every demo into a sale. Slow down. Dig deep. Find the real issues. Advise. Teach. Coach. Be there for your customers. That's the type of inside salespeople we all want to do business with. On this episode of Mental Selling, I spoke with Bob Perkins, Founder and Chairman of the American Association of Inside Sales Professionals (AA-ISP), about the impact and future of remote sales teams, creating the sales leaders of tomorrow, and much more. Join us as we discuss: - Remote work—will salespeople want to come back to the office? - How to more efficiently use sales enablement technologies - Hunters vs farmers—how do you measure responsibilities? - Retention & developing the next generation of sales leaders - Encouraging internal sales team development via prioritizing sales coaching 163363

We talk a lot about using marketing and sales tactics that re-humanize B2B and make it personal. This episode isn't just a one scoop of B2B sales and marketing tactics. It's the full ice cream sundae. Three phenomenal guest speakers gave a fast-fire panel from our #FlipMyFunnel Conference, and we have it all right here. They offered simple, down-to-Earth, best sales and marketing practices you can use today, at the office, right now. They each unpacked their version of re-humanizing B2B, talked about video, AI, and how to equip your entry-level employees. Don't miss this buffet of thought leadership. Katie Cantwell — Director of Sales at Showpad. Previously, Director of Sales at Oracle, and Owner of Loyalty at Audi. Tyler Lessard — Fearless 50 Marketer and VP of Marketing at Vidyard. Randy Frisch — Co-founder, CMO, and president of Uberflip. The moderator for this panel was the rockstar Bob Perkins, founder and chairman of the AA-ISP (American Association of Inside Sales Professionals).

Full Notes https://www.salestuners.com/bob-perkins/ Takeaways Be Selfish In a Good Way: Top sales reps are usually at the top for a reason. They’re driven, focused and selfish - in a good way. They’re also not that concerned with the welfare of those around them. They need that time and space to focus on their accounts, run their sales process the way they know works, are dedicated to improving themselves all along the way. Embrace the Digital Transformation: The role technology plays in sales isn’t going away. You can easily schedule meetings with apps like Calendly or completely automate it with services like X.ai. You can streamline the workflow for creating proposals with apps like our sponsor Octiv or simplify your outbound prospecting with tools like SalesLoft. There’s even a new product I recently demoed that brings better transparency and consistency to the discovery call process called Costello that you should check out. Keep Sales Personal: Time to contradict myself a bit. Even though I believe we have to embrace the digital transformation, understand we are at the risk of de-personalizing sales. All the tools, data, and analytics should be leveraged when appropriate, but at the end of the day, people buy from people they like. Differentiate yourself from the both the AI movement as well as average sales person by showing your personality. Flip on the switch for your webcam and ask your prospect to do the same. Write emails like a human being. Truly participate in the “social” part of social media. Book Recommendation South: The Endurance Expedition to Antarctica by Ernest Schackleton Sponsor Octiv – Transform the way your sales assets are created, distributed and tracked around the world.
