The Bill Kelly Show Podcast: The Liberal cabinet began three days of meetings in Vancouver today to hash out the government's fall playbook, with the rising cost of living and the state of the economy topping the agenda as Parliament prepares for the return of MPs. GUEST: Daniel Béland, Director of the McGill Institute for the Study of Canada - On the Labour Day weekend, a devastating series of attacks resulting in deaths and others injured instantly made the James Smith Cree Nation internationally famous. In the coming days, as journalists delve into the backgrounds of the suspects and the dynamics surrounding the incomprehensible events, any characterization of this atrocity as a meme for Indigenous dysfunction would be, frankly, inaccurate. As we have tragically seen in recent years – in towns from Portapique, N.S. to Uvalde, Tex. – the disease of mass killings has nothing to do with a community's ethnicity. The traumatized Indigenous community in Saskatchewan deserves better than this.  GUEST: Dr. Ken Coates, Canada Research Chair with the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy at the University of Saskatchewan, and a Senior Fellow of Aboriginal and Northern Canadian Issues with the Macdonald Laurier Institute - Top 10 threats to childhood are putting the lives of 8 million kids at risk. New report from child advocates calls for urgent action as kids go back to school.  GUEST: Stephanie Mitton, Government Relations Advisor for Children First Canada

This year has been a struggle for teachers and their traditional ways of teaching. I am a 5th-grade teacher in middle school. My district is using a blended learning model. We have 2 cohorts Tuesdays and Thursdays and Wednesdays and Fridays. I see 2 groups of students per day. I really miss putting the kids into groups to share their learning. I love group work and I am really struggling with how to make it work this year. If you or your listeners have any ideas on how to do group work, I would love to try it. Can't wait to hear some new ideas! Simple answer: collaborate on the assignment within a doc.  Set up sections with steps that you want students to progress through. (Kind of like Hyperdocs) Discuss in the comments.  They can work on an assignment in a different app (Slides, Drawings, even outside G Suite) Use voice comments with a tool like Mote (justmote.me) for comments for a personal touch of voice Other tools that integrate nicely with Classroom that can foster discussion: Flipgrid (flipgrid.com): Video replies. Most entrepreneurs are afraid of investing or owning a business abroad but have no fear because, in today’s episode, international speaker, best selling author and business strategist Lauren Cohen joins the show. Listen in as Lauren shares her tips on investment strategy, international business ownership and how you too, can build your own portfolio of properties across multiple countries. KEY TAKEAWAYS Investing while you are young is very important because you get to leverage the aspect of time, in that, when you fail in the first attempt, you still got time to try again the second time and the third time. Property investing is one of the best investments you could ever make because it's a lasting investment and can generate multiple streams of income. There are different types of visas in the immigration sector, and as an entrepreneur, you should have a better understanding of all these visas and understand the pros and cons of having a particular visa when investing in certain countries. Partner with different people with different skills and knowledge when investing globally and aim to have a local partner that can manage the project on the ground. As an entrepreneur in the United States, you should know the legal rules that are in each state and figure out which would state rules and regulations best fit your business sector and give you the opportunity for growth. BEST MOMENTS “Green cards are the coveted option, although not always.” “Investing in yourself means believing in yourself enough to take risks.” “If you don't invest in yourself now, you're going to miss the boat and not have the opportunity.” “When you're investing in a new country, no matter what country it is, you can't just get guidance from that country's professionals.” “Don’t cut corners and don't find your answers on the internet.” VALUABLE RESOURCES Finding Your Silver Lining Book by Lauren Cohen https://www.creativerealestateinvestorsacademy.com/ ABOUT THE GUEST Lauren A. Have you ever wanted to hunt the giant whitetails of Canada? On episode #8 of the Bear Hunting Magazine podcast we sit with Tom Ainsworth of Grandview Outfitters to discuss an array of topics, but our focus is big Canadian whitetails. Tom has been hunting the same large tract of agricultural land for over 40 years and has guided hunters to countless massive whitetails. He himself killed a 208” buck in the early 1980s and hasn’t hunted the property himself since. The largest client-killed buck was 193”. Clay Newcomb has now hunted with Tom for two years and had some tremendous hunts, including a 152” massive bowkill buck in 2017. At the time of this recording Clay had yet to take a deer in 2018, but that would change on the final day of the hunt (podcast #10). Tom just two years ago got out of the bear outfitting business, but he briefly talks about the big bears of Manitoba. Tom gives some history on the Ukrainians that settled this region, the agriculture, the diversity of wildlife and the way they hunt big whitetails. Tom hasn’t been educated by the trends of the modern whitetail media, but rather by four decades of experience watching whitetails on a daily basis. Some of his philosophies might surprise you. You’ll truly enjoy this podcast and it will keep you entertained and informed?
