In this episode, Tony chatted with director Eduardo Rodriguez to sink his teeth into Fright Night 2: New Blood, a stylish reimagining of the cult classic with a seductive twist. Filmed in the shadowy corners of Romania, this American indie horror follows high schooler Charley Brewster and his friends on a study abroad trip gone terrifyingly wrong. Their professor, the alluring Gerri Dandridge — played with icy charm by Defiance's Jaime Murray — isn't just grading papers… she's hunting prey.
It's that time of year again on The Film ‘89 Podcast as we bring you our 2025 Halloween Horror Special. Joining Skye are two returning co-hosts, Stephen Simpson and John Arminio, and the horror film they've picked as the focus of this episode is Tom Holland's 1985 cult classic, Fright Night, starring Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse and Roddy McDowell. Based on an original script by Holland, Fright Night blends elements of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window with Hammer horror and vampire lore as it tells the tale of teenager, Charley Brewster, who suspects that his new next door neighbour, Jerry Dandridge, may be a vampire. With outstanding practical makeup effects and assured direction from first time director Holland, Fright Night would go on to become a beloved cult classic and one of the very best horror films of the 1980s.

Hey, there, horror hounds and fright fans. Tom Holland here, ready to take you on a journey back to where it all began - Act I of Fright Night 40TH Year Cast Reunion TABLE READ You've seen this before, but trust me, you haven't experienced it like this. With Mark Hamill stepping into Roddy McDowall's shoes as Peter Vincent, and the electric Rosario Dawson joining Christopher Sarandon and our beloved original cast, we're breathing new life into this classic tale of suburban terror. And in this podcast - you're right there with me, in the room LIVE with Chris, Bill, Mark, Rosario and the whole Fright Night family. They delivered a performance so damn good, it was almost as frightening as the vampires themselves. In Act I, we set the stage. We introduce you to Charley Brewster, your average American teenager with an above-average problem - his next-door neighbor might just be a bloodsucking fiend. It's a delicate balance, between the mundane and the monstrous. We start with the ordinary - high school, homework, hormone-driven makeout sessions - and slowly, insidiously, let the extraordinary creep in. It plays on our deepest fears. Not just of vampires, but of not being believed, of being alone in the face of unspeakable evil. It's Stephen King's Loser's Club meets Rear Window, with a dash of hormonal teenage angst thrown in for good measure. As you listen, pay attention to the little details - the way the tension builds, the way disbelief slowly gives way to dawning horror. Listen for the chemistry between our cast, both old and new. It's like lightning in a bottle, folks, and we've managed to capture it again after all these years, just for your ears; electrifying your mind with a masterful soundtrack designed just for you, just for this story! We share laughter, stories, and outtakes - it's like your ear is pressed to the studio door, eavesdropping on icons reanimating an iconic story - my iconic story, at that. As Stephen King might say, we're not just telling a story, we're opening a vein and letting it bleed all over the microphone. So come on in, the bite's fine. Buckle up, turn out the lights, grab your earbuds because when that sun goes down and Jerry Dandrige bares his fangs, you're in for one hell of a ride. Welcome back to Fright Night, for real! Happy Halloween, everybody! On this spooky edition of Not A Bomb, the “Breaking Brad” crew discusses the sequel to one of the greatest horror films of all time, Fright Night Part 2. Picking up 3 years after the events of the first film, Fright Night Part 2 finds Charley Brewster and vampire hunter Peter Vincent battling a brand new cadre of sexy vampires. Fright Night Part 2 was given less of a budget than the original film and struggled to get theatrical distribution. The critics were also harsh on the sequel and the vampire flick didn't really find an audience until it was released on VHS. Oh…and a highly publicized murder of a studio executive might have played a part in this films rough distribution cycle. Yeah, this movie had some dark things happening behind the scenes. Does Fright Night Part 2 live up to the original or has this horror franchise lost its bite? Spoiler alert: someone called this thing a bomb! You won't be able to guess who!Fright Night: Part 2 is directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and stars Roddy McDowall, WIlliam Ragsdale, Traci Lind, and Julie Carmen. Tiene fuerza y velocidad sobrehumana Come frutas. For young Charley Brewster, nothing could be better than an old horror movie late at night. Two men move in next door, and for Charley with his horror movie experience, there can be no doubt that their strange behavior is explained by the fact that they are a vampire and his undead day guardian. The only one who can help him hunt them down is a washed-up actor, Peter Vincent, who hosts Charley's favorite TV show, Fright Night. Vincent doesn't really believe that vampires exist, but does it for the money.

Hello and welcome to part three of Love Sucks aka vampire movies. My look at Fright Night 2 1988 not the terrible "remake" from 2013. Several years after the events of Fright Night do we find Charley Brewster in therapy and now in college with a new girlfriend. However Jerry's sis is out for blood and wasn't Charley as her "bride". Once again Charley calls on the help of the fearless vampire hunter Peter Vincent. Can he be saved before his life really sucks. Enjoy Don't forget to share, like, comment and subscribe Twitter:@heresjohnnyspod
[School of Movies 2018] We were commissioned to cover the original 1985 version but decided to incorporate the 2011 remake as well. A teenage boy named Charley Brewster is perturbed to find that the gentleman who just moved in next door is a vampire... named Jerry. But of course nobody will believe him. Charley's mother, his awkward friend Ed and his girlfriend Amy are all placed in danger, and he seeks out guidance in how to dispatch this denizen of darkness from local celebrity Peter Vincent. How both films go about this varies quite a lot, with one being an affectionate, gory homage to the vampire flicks of yesteryear, fading from popularity, and the other being a nerve-shredding take on the evolving concept of protecting one's territory. Our hypothesis is that because both films take different approaches to the same story they end up complimenting rather than repeating one another, and thus form a rare instance of balanced old and new. Sean cozies up to the seductive vampire fantasy that is Fright Night Part 2 (1988), which finds Charley Brewster and the Fearless Vampire Killer, Peter Vincent, re-teaming when the sister of the original film's vampire descends on Los Angeles with revenge on her mind. Listen as we try to uncover how this sequel ended up in movie limbo; discuss the high fashion of vampire chic; and wistfully long for cheesy 80's rubber monster FX, all on this week's exciting episode!
