Happy Halloween, everybody! On this spooky edition of Not A Bomb, the “Breaking Brad” crew discusses the sequel to one of the greatest horror films of all time, Fright Night Part 2. Picking up 3 years after the events of the first film, Fright Night Part 2 finds Charley Brewster and vampire hunter Peter Vincent battling a brand new cadre of sexy vampires. Fright Night Part 2 was given less of a budget than the original film and struggled to get theatrical distribution. The critics were also harsh on the sequel and the vampire flick didn't really find an audience until it was released on VHS. Oh…and a highly publicized murder of a studio executive might have played a part in this films rough distribution cycle. Yeah, this movie had some dark things happening behind the scenes. Does Fright Night Part 2 live up to the original or has this horror franchise lost its bite? Spoiler alert: someone called this thing a bomb! You won't be able to guess who!Fright Night: Part 2 is directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and stars Roddy McDowall, WIlliam Ragsdale, Traci Lind, and Julie Carmen. It's giving Disturbia. It's giving Scream. It's giving Bram Stoker's Dracula and The Lost Boys and Mom's Got a Date with a Vampire. And it's most definitely giving Vincent Price. Make no mistake, though — Fright Night (1985) is absolutely iconic in its own right. A creature feature where each and every vampire gets their own special set of teeth, this classic ‘80s flick is home to some great hallmarks of the era. He then brings us to his childhood and his close-knit family's culinary habits, including his mother's simple but nutritious home-cooked meals. He also describes childhood outings to luscious southern church dinners, and his transition, at 9 years old, from an average kid to his early performance as a 'Munchkin.' This week, we discuss "Mannequin 2: On the Move", which is honestly one of the best sequels we've covered this year. This movie has the perfect 80s/90s feel to it and a great cast that has a young Kristy Swanson, William Ragsdale, Stuart Pankin, Meshach Taylor,, and Terry Kiser absolutely CRUSHING IT! As Halloween approaches, what better way to celebrate than to watch one of the more underrated horror films of the 1980s. This is the story of Charlie (William Ragsdale), a mild-mannered teenager living in suburbia who lives with his mother – one day, two strange new neighbors move in next door and one of them seems to have some VERY strange nocturnal behaviors. One of those neighbors happens to be the mysterious Jerry Dandridge played by Chris Sarandon and Jerry appears to be….a vampire...What follows is a scary, tense, and funny vampire tale featuring TOP-flight creature effects and a nice supporting performance by Roddy McDowall as the host of a late-night horror anthology show known as ”Fright Night.” Tom Holland (no not the one who plays Spider-Man) both wrote and directed this movie before making a splash just a couple of years later directing the first Child's Play. This week Val and Rachel discuss the pilot of Herman's Head, an American sitcom that aired on the Fox network from September 8, 1991 until April 21, 1994. The series was created by Andy Guerdat and Steve Kreinberg, and produced by Witt/Thomas Productions in association with Touchstone Television. William Ragsdale stars as the title character, Herman Brooks. Herman's thought processes are dramatized in a "Greek chorus"-style interpretation, with four characters representing different aspects of his personality (played by Molly Hagan, Ken Hudson Campbell, Rick Lawless and Peter MacKenzie). Hot topics include: 1.) We pop our cherry with our first FOX show, and discuss the differences between FOX and the other networks (ie: FOX is dirt-ay!!!!) 2.) What emotions might there be in Val and Rachel's heads? 3.) Rachel's Acting Retirement Plan Revealed 4.) These two horndogs drool over Evan Peters and Alan Rickman. 5.) Lotsa Whatcha Watchin Wikipedia entry: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herman%27s_Head

Welcome to Chris & Chris Talk Movies. In this podcast, life-long friends Chris Ferry and Chris Huddleston discuss Sci Fi movies (sometimes the best Sci Fi movies, sometimes not), horror movies (occasionally some of the all time best horror movies…often…not), a few of the very best action movies (I think you see where we're going with this), and genre films from their childhood and beyond in this laid-back, rambling, but inviting series!Rated PG for occasional mature language and alcohol consumption. This week's show features classic '80s horror in the form of 1985's Fright Night. It was a first-time watch for one us, and a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the other. The Fright Night cast is made up of Roddy McDowall, Chris Sarandon, William Ragsdale, Amanda Bearse, and Stephen Geoffreys. Have you seen this one? If so, what did you think? We talk about the 1980s classic: Fright Night. Directed by Tom Holland, starring Roddy McDowall, Amanda Bearse, William Ragsdale and Chris Sarandon. It is a fun but still scary, horror movie that revels in campy vampire lore at a time when movies about 'demented madmen in ski-masks, hacking up young virgins' were all the rage. But has it stood the test of time. We revisit Fright Night to find out. Music provided by Zombie Johann Sebastian Bach.
We watched Fright Night (1985) with our friends Kevin Michael Jones & Chris Moore but you may know them as the Homos on Haunted Hill. Apparently the filmmakers didn’t include the glaring queerness on purpose but the cast alone betrays its homo tendencies. Roddy McDowall, Amanda Bearse and future adult film star Stephen Geoffreys turn up the camp in this tale of a sexy vampire moving to the suburbs. William Ragsdale is cute but harmless as our hero Charley who is so enthralled by the sexy Jerry Dandrige (Chris Sarandon) he’s constantly fighting off his perfectly willing (and horny) girlfriend (Bearse). Geoffreys’ over the top performance as Evil Ed may have been intended as comic relief but his Bobcat Goldthwait on Four Loko delivery comes across somehow as charming. If you have a bootleg of the 1988 sequel, slide into our DMs. Thanks for listening and don't forget to subscribe, rate and review us on iTunes! www.patreon.com/moviesthatmadeusgay Facebook/Instagram: @moviesthatmadeusgay Twitter: @MTMUGPod Scott Youngbauer: Twitter @oscarscott / Instagram @scottyoungballer Peter Lozano: Twitter/Instagram @peterlasagna

Rounding out the day, I spoke with a convention goer cosplaying as Vlad the Impaler from the 1992 "Bram Stoker's Dracula."

Dracula, Lestat, Angel, Nosferatu, Spike...Jerry??? While Hollywood continues to mine all vampire properties to build on the current fang mania, the 1985 cult film Fright Night was not one with the name recognition that made it an obvious choice for a remake, but with Buffy the Vampire Slayer's Marti Noxon writing, and an impressive cast including Colin Farrell and David Tennant, this unlikely remake seemed like it may make vampires scary again. But can it live up to the 1985 original in the eyes of fans, and will it appeal to new audiences? Listen to Arnie, Stuart, and Brock to find out!

Jerry and Billy would be great neighbors, were it not for all the apple cores they leave in the yard, and the bodies of dead prostitutes they take out in garbage bags. But while the rest of the neighborhood seems not to notice, Charlie Brewster realizes the truth--Jerry is a vampire. In 1985 Fright Night brought back the Vampire genre from the dead with its mix of horror and comedy. With Chris Sarandon as the evil, yet fashionable, Jerry, and Roddy McDowell as Peter Vincent, the fearless vampire killer, is this film's allure eternal, or should it have been buried in the 80's? Listen to Stuart, Arnie, and Brock to find out! Then come back to NowPlayingPodcast.com as we review all the Fright Night films, culminating with a review of the remake starring Colin Farrell!

William Ragsdale, Gary Hawkins on FX's new series, "Justified," will be making an appearance on BuzzWorthy Radio! After attending Hendrix College where he appeared in plays with Sling Blade actress and fellow Arkansan Natalie Canerday, he gained attention as the young hero of Fright Night and Fright Night II, a series of humorous vampire films co-starring Roddy McDowall. He also performed in theatre productions of Neil Simon plays Biloxi Blues[3] and Brighton Beach Memoirs. Ragsdale has had a sporadic career on prime-time television. He starred for three years in the Fox Network sitcom Herman's Head. He had a brief recurring role in Judging Amy as the obnoxious son of Richard Crenna's character. He played a TV producer on Grosse Pointe, which lasted one season. He was cast in the pilot for Charmed, but turned down the series to star in the short-lived sitcom Brother's Keeper. He appeared on Ellen as a boyfriend of the character Ellen Morgan (Ellen DeGeneres), before Morgan (and DeGeneres herself) came out of "the closet" as a lesbian. He played bit roles in numerous movies and television series, including a four-episode stint on Less Than Perfect. Oddly enough, he lost movie roles in both Glory and Biloxi Blues to Matthew Broderick, but did work with Broderick in the 2009 film Wonderful World.
