A special treat for you fine folks! Recorded live in Saskatoon, Canada, circa 2001. This was an outdoor rave I put on for Canada Day. 9pm to 9am, although, the police shut it down around 7am due to noise complaints, it was one hell of a fun time! For those that don't know, Ollie started his production career by submitting a little known track called "Eden" to Jon the Dentist's BOSCA BEATS label. Jon snapped it up and the rest is history. They eventually collaborated on some of the biggest HARD TRANCE records at the time, including "The 4th Kingdom", "Feel So Good" and "Imagination". The latter 2 were snapped up by TIDY TRAX and given a proper release and remix cycle. Ollie and I first met in Vancouver while playing alongside Jon the Dentist for the Twisted Productions crew. We ended up DJing the same raves a few different times in Vancouver and eventually I flew him out to headline alongside Chris Liberator in Saskatoon. It contains a hefty dose of HARD TRANCE and HARD HOUSE with minimal chemical assistance. A few of the track ID's neither Ollie nor I could remember, as you'll see. Tracklisting: 01. Lexos - The Key 02. Coldplay - Trouble (Unknown Remix) 03. Marc Et Claude - Lovin' You (Marco V Remix) 04. Jon the Dentist & Ollie Jaye - Feel So Good 05. Cosmic Gate - Firewire 06. Byli to: Chris Liebing, Gayle San, Redhead, Tom Hades, Dj Preach, Chris Liberator, Dave the Drummer i Brian Sanghaji. Crank Zapppa; the moniker of Dustin Fugere, is a purveyor of breaks, techno, and all things funky. Playing parties, dance floors, and headphones for about 3 years now with no sign of stopping. Originally and still, a bass guitar player specializing in heavy metal, and rock and roll, with a background in Jazz, upright, and musical theatre. Getting into the scene nearly a decade ago and falling in love with the people and atmosphere, eventually deciding to bring his own eclectic tastes for a simply a fun and new creative outlet. A Few Words From the Man Himself. This mix would best be described as break/tech with a healthy dose of acid techno. Featuring classic sounds from Jenson Interceptor, under appreciated Bandcamp artists, and the Acid sound of Steve Mills and Chris Liberator. I hope you enjoy it, and play it loud whenever possible. -Crank Zapppa- To Experience More of His Mixes Check Out https://soundcloud.com/user-376731160

00:00 01. Having shared his bills with Jerome Hill, Dave the Drummer, Controlled Weirdness, Chris Liberator and many more, Christo also regularly plays B2B with Rory Kelly aka Rory Moronik. Down to play in the depths of the Basement with the Container crew Warlock, Altar and Rory Moronik, Christo has recorded a fiery mix to give us a taste of what to expect on the night.

We have booked many international DJ's such as Dave Clarke, Perc, Dax J, Chris Liberator and many many many more and it's rare that a set absolutely lifts the roof off and it's even rarer that a local DJ does that and then some. The atmosphere on the Dafties rave Terrace was absolutely off the chain throughout Chocs set at the Easter Milk the Cow and in addition it was a style of music that we're not know for at all which we put on for the crack! One of the best reactions technically and for tune selection we've had in over 20 years of promoting events in any genre so we've decided to release it here as a free download for your ears to relive the memories. For episode 21 of the ...rude not too podcast, we welcome a guest we've been trying to get hold of for some time. He's been kind enough to supply a 1hr 30min mix of his finest work, utilising 4 decks, drum computers and fx units to gel together his forward thinking style. Be prepared to be taken on an epic journey of Tech-House and Techno courtesy of JOHNNY ALLEN! Johnny Allen discovered his first set of decks at the tender the age of 14. Picking up two hi fi turntable tops and a mixer(see my Facebook for my first mixer lol) from his local electronic store - he hasn’t looked back since. His first live appearances playing to a crowd were in 2000 where he played at local parties in his home town before moving abroad to play at clubs in both Spain and Crete. In 2004, he was invited to play at a popular local techno night called 'Refresh' where he gained a regular slot playing harder edged techno. During this time he was also invited to play at various other nights including The Vault, Soundhaus Glasgow, The Club(Club 69) Paisley and the Honeycomb in Edinburgh where he played alongside the likes of GREEN VELVET, CHRIS LIBERATOR, DAVE THE DRUMMER and hardcore legend LENNY D. A turning point in Johnny's career came in 2005 when he visited the Sonar festival and after listening to the likes of Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos, he was blown away by a whole new style of techno music and sound effects. Greatly influenced by these techno pioneers, Johnny then slowly changed his djing style to a more groove driven tech house and minimal techno which was warmly received at his gigs. In 2009, Johnny got together with fellow DJs CLUTCH SLIP and started a club night, "Hectors Discotheque", at The Club (Club69). The "Hectors" booked and played alongside the likes of ALAN FITZPATRICK, HANS BOUFFMYHRE, KYLE GEIGER and local hero ALAN BELSHAW. Venues for Hectors Discotheque changed frequently from boats, to fields, to barns, to various other Glasgow club venues, a move which kept the night innovative and fresh which seemed to appeal to the clubbers. Teaming up with fellow DJ Mark Stuart as techno duo FREEEKNIT, Johnny has also been able to showcase his turntable trickery in a fresh innovative way by using a mixture of software and hardware effects and drum machines to give the crowd something a a little less conventional than the traditional two decks and a mixer style of djing. These days Johnny can be found in the studio producing music or working on future events. He has also secured gigs at a list of radio shows and clubs in Scotland with some of the biggest names on the DJ circuit.....last year alone he played after MINUS superstar HEARTTHROB, JOSEPH CAPRIATI and SCI-TEC/MINUS JOOP JUNIOR and this year warmed up for HOBO and MATADOR(IE) in Glasgow, also from Richie Hawtins Minus Label.

Technocracy began as the first electronic music show on college radio station CFBU 103.7 FM (Brock Radio) in St. Catharines, ON, Canada in 1995. The (then) new radio station lacked any electronic music being hosted on its airwaves and Jay Kaufman was the man to carve out what went on to become *the* premier electronic music and culture radio show for the Niagara Region. It ran on Friday nights and later on, Saturdays as a way to kick start the weekend. Other shows soon followed, as well as a club night using the same name as the show. Technocracy the FM radio show ran for a total of five years - 3 of which Jay was the main host. Featured guests included people like BT, Timo Maas, Mark E.G., Chris Liberator, Commander Tom, Nils Landstrumm and many more. The club night ran for three years and hosted some of the same names. Fast forward to now. Technocracy is back in the form of a podcast doing what Jay does best - bring you the best DJ sets from himself and the world over.
