Goodison Park was a tense battle as Arsenal almost left with a win; instead ended in 1-1 draw against Everton in their final trip to the historic ground. Trossard's clinical finish gave Arsenal first-half lead, but Ndiaye's controversial penalty early in the second half ensured the points were shared. This match was a tale of sustaining dominance from Everton's pressure, marred by questionable officiating and missed opportunities.Arsenal started brightly and dictating play with a heavily rotated lineup. Raheem Sterling's pace and drive, set up Trossard's opener—showing composure and precision. However, Everton's physicality and defensive resilience kept Arsenal from extending their lead before halftime. The second half began with drama as Myles Lewis-Skelly was adjudged to have fouled Jack Harrison in the box—a decision that is ridiculously wrong. Ndiaye converted from the spot so that was a gift to Everton. Despite introducing Saka and Martinelli, Arsenal struggled to break down Everton's defensive block, with Jordan Pickford making crucial saves to deny Declan Rice and Martinelli.Given the heavy rotation, there's more to appreciate than worry. Sadly, as Premier League officiating…. We take the draw and now we turn our attention to Champions League clash with Real Madrid. Arsenal! Arsenal! We move!
Armando Broja has been pictured back in full training alongside his Everton team-mates in the latest batch of photographs to be released from Finch Farm. The on-loan Chelsea striker hasn't featured in the first team since going off with an ankle ligament injury in the FA Cup third round tie against Peterborough United on January 9. Initially, new manager David Moyes admitted he was looking into the possibility of sending the Albania international back to Stamford Bridge to free up a potential domestic loan space given that the Blues had filled their two-man quota having also brought in Jack Harrison from Leeds United, but given that the issue wasn't as serious as originally feared, there are now hopes that the 23-year-old could feature again this season. Join Ian Croll, Joe Thomas & Tony Scott for the Monday edition of the Royal Blue podcast as they discuss Everton's 1-1 with Wolves. Everton extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to eight matches under David Moyes tonight. They played out a hard-fought 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux. Despite the two sides only being separated by one place in the table going into the contest, the result maintained the 10-point gap between the pair. It also saw the Blues go above Manchester United and West Ham United on goal difference in 14th. Jack Harrison fired Everton ahead on 33 minutes with his first goal of the season as his shot was deflected in off Matt Doherty but Marshall Munetsi restored parity for 17th-placed Wolves seven minutes later after Jarrad Branthwaite was unable to clear a ball into the box. In this first episode of 2025, we go back in time ten years—Mikel Arteta is back on the menu! With the brand new Assistant Manager chip, FPL managers can earn points from having Mikel Arteta in their team again—though this time, it's in a managerial capacity. (Speaking of Premier League managers who used to be players themselves, did you know that Andoni Iraola once played in a midfield trio with Andrea Pirlo and Frank Lampard at NYCFC, feeding balls through to Jack Harrison?) We take our first careful look at the chip, breaking down the two preeminent strategies: pick a manager from a top team and rely on victories by large margins, or pick a manager from a lower-ranked team and bet on upsets. The former is the safer option, while the latter is high risk, high reward. What whets your appetite? The answer may be more complicated than you think. And then there's the question of when to play the chip—though playing it in a double gameweek gives you an extra fixture, it also precludes you from playing another chip. Much to consider…
Happy Merry & hope your holidays are going wonderfully cozy, easy, and not at all stressful. In this Christmas Eve solo holiday special, I'm reskinning Jack Harrison a.k.a. Mousehole Press' Bucket of Bolts from a futuristic spaceship POV experience to inhabiting the iconic sleigh of St. Nicholas himself, instead playing as the sleigh for the many Santas throughout the centuries. It's short, simple, and fun, but definitely made me think about how I would run this game if I was playing in a sci-fi game, especially because it opens up such interesting ideas for sentient ships, AI co-pilots, and just fleshing out the story of an oft-overlooked member of any spacefaring party - the ship itself. Welcome back to more Koriko: A Magical Year by Jack Harrison & Mousehole Press! Genie's Magical Year has come to an end, and the last few weeks of the year mean she faces the big decision - does she stay in Koriko? Return home to her mentor? Or move on and go somewhere new? I don't think anyone will be surprised by the answer, but there are some really nice moments in this episode to close out our time in Koriko. What an incredible experience and I hope that you all enjoyed it. Oh, and listen to Yvette Young's incredible song Always (and the Fireside Version, too!). "Am I a fool for laughing at the memories? Rainy days spent watching time slip through my fingertips. And I'll pull away. I'll tell myself it's better. His process allows him to create some of the most genuine VHS filters that exist, emulating nostalgic graphic designs you would find from the 80's. Hello and welcome to a new solo RPG series, switching up tone completely and exploring the wonderfully cozy journaling game Koriko: A Magical Year by Jack Harrison & Mousehole Press, creators of other incredible solo games like Artefact, Orbital, and Bucket of Bolts (Jack also did layout for Notorious & Outsiders, so clearly he knows what he's doing)! Koriko is a game about a teenage witch leaving their home village to spend one year in a new city where they will work their craft, expand their horizons, and learn to be the witch they are destined to become. Very obviously paying homage to its inspirations, Koriko is a beautiful book in both art and writing, and I'm very excited to break away from my usual method of solo journaling strictly through audio to actually write in a journal to create the incredible artifact that sticking to this ritual will become. Volume 1: Departure introduces Eugenia "Genie" Finch, our young witch with excellent style, wild ginger hair, and a three-eyed mink familiar named Mog who is leaving her northern forests village of Bonetto to find somewhere new. It has been a frenetic start to the transfer window for Everton as the club are currently weighing up two bids for Ben Godfrey. Atalanta and Lyon have both submitted offers for the England international defender, whose sale before Sunday's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) 'transfer deadline' could, following Lewis Dobbin's departure to Aston Villa, help the Blues avoid another charge. But it's not all about outgoings. Having sealed a deal for Villa midfielder Tim Iroegbunam and the return of winger Jack Harrison from Leeds United, Everton are closing in on the signing of Marseille attacker Iliman Ndiaye. According to reports, Everton are ready to sell Beto with the Portuguese striker potentially heading to Fenerbahçe in a deal worth over £16million. The latest reports on this however have shut down the front man moving on, however, does Beto have a long-term future with the Blues? In this episode, we dive deep into Everton's squad performance this season, highlighting standout moments, unexpected breakthroughs, and areas that urgently need attention. We scrutinize the formidable defensive partnership of James Tarkovsky and Jarrad Branthwaite, alongside the persistent struggles at the right-back position. Our discussion also dissects the potential of Amadou Onana and whether his underwhelming performances can be blamed on his own limitations or Sean Dyche's tactical system. We'll explore the ups and downs of individual players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin and James Garner, as well as the noteworthy improvement of Mykolenko under Dyche's guidance. Nathan Patterson's limited playtime and the utilization of Onana raise some eyebrows, but the team's overall effort, especially in light of behind-the-scenes challenges, receives well-deserved praise. On the transfer front, we evaluate potential reinforcements such as Dwight McNeil, Jack Harrison, and Ashley Young, and discuss strategies to strengthen the squad without breaking the bank. What financial sacrifices might Everton need to make to move forward? We tackle the complex issue of potentially selling key players like Pickford, Branthwaite, Onana, and Calvert-Lewin to reinvest in the squad. With a focus on strategic decision-making and financial implications, we debate the merits of keeping or selling these assets. Finally, we assess the potential return of Jack Harrison and the critical need for squad depth, wrapping up with cautious optimism about unexpected signings that could boost Everton's prospects. James is not longer in Liverpool, therefore Everton win. In the sunshine at Goodison Park, the Toffees matched their highest goal output of season and kept a clean sheet for the first time this campaign. Alex and James are here for a bit of a throwback to the OG pod (though they both miss Ryan dearly), going through the customary instant reactions, lineups, tactics, and main moments of an enjoyable victory. They then discuss the changes to the midfield forced upon Dyche, the emergence of Jack Harrison, Onana's quality, and a strong performance from our #9. Wrapping the show with a number of insightful listener comments, it's clear the fanbase are reveling in the victory. We hope you enjoy the recap! The Leeds owner was reportedly in tears and Jack Harrison was despondently sat all on his own after a very disorganised Leeds United lost 4-1 to Gary O'Neil's AFC Bournemouth at Dean Court on Sunday. Cherries fans were singing Gary's name once more on the terraces as the head coach masterminded a near-perfect performance against Javi Gracia's men, all but securing Premier League football for Boscombe for the seventh season! With Cherries fans ecstatic with the realisation that Premier League football will be gracing Dean Court again next season, but after all the persistent conjecture and concern of Gary O'Neil's appointment, is it now time to put certain conversations to bed? We discuss: Mark McAdam's controversial post-match tweet Eating humble pie Blake, Hughes & Foley's calculated risk When criticism goes TOO FAR? O'Neil's perennial Howe comparison Will see ALL sing Gary's name against Chelsea? Opinions on the Rally flags Will Jefferson Lerma put pen to paper? Taty Castellanos gets his move to Europe, but is this the right move? Taty Castellanos gets a move to CFG and loaned to Girona, the newly promoted La Liga club, but is this the right move for the prolific NYCFC forward? The Italian international Bernardeschi transfers from Juvenuts in to Toronto FC in MLS. Bernardeschi, at 28, joins Lorenzo Insigne, at 31. Does this prove once and for all that MLS is not a retirement league? Also with Taty Castellanos getting the Jack Harrison move out of NYCFC through the CFG ladder, do you think it'll work out the same? Can we expect to see Taty move into a bigger role in Europe or is he destined for South America? Is Girona the right move for him?
