Award-winning musician, actor, model and artist Lou Doillon is a true chameleon of the arts. When he was just 12 years old, Daniel Arsham had a near-death experience. Living in Florida with his parents, Hurricane Andrew struck in 1992, careening across the coastal state and taking with it Arsham's family house—ripping the roof off, tearing the walls apart at the seams, and sending pink fluffy insulation flying. The house was rebuilt soon after, but the traumatic experience and ensuing weeks of living in a "pre-civilization" state left an indelible imprint on Arsham. The idea of collapsing the past and present, and the formative role architecture played in his understanding of the world, has helped shape Arsham's creative practice, which he describes as fictional archaeology. In his most celebrated series, "Future Relics," Arsham casts objects of commercialism and contemporary society as fragments of an already obsolete time. Along with Alex Mustonen, Arsham founded the irreverently titled group Snarkitechture, and began collaborating with fashion brands like Dior (working with both Hedi Slimane and Kim Jones), KITH, and Adidas, as well as Merce Cunningham and illustrator Hajime Sorayama. Having successfully skated across the boundaries that define genres of art, Arsham's newest gig as creative director of his hometown basketball team, the Cleveland Cavaliers, signaled his supremacy in pop culture. On this week's episode of the Art Angle, Arsham called in from his New York studio to discuss his unlikely story, and what comes next.

Regina Wamba's love for art started when she was just 5 years old. Despite a lack of arts education in Idaho, Regina was determined to go to art school and apply her natural talent in visual communications and graphic design. After a stint in the “real world,” Regina's natural entrepreneur tendencies took over. She founded her brand and built her reputation as an expert in creating designs, imaging, and projects with emotion and story. Today, Regina has several complimentary ventures including the Stock Alchemist, a ‘Bookstagram' stock image business specializing in diversity, and the Image Apothecary. No matter which project she takes on, Regina desires to inspire authors and readers with diverse representation and total inclusivity.

As entrepreneurs, our businesses are like our children. We want to fuel them, help them grow and most importantly PROTECT them. We would do anything to keep them safe and close to us. So why are we so scared to get legal involved and get a contract in place? Christina Scalera is here to share with us just that. She is the founder and CEO of Contract Shop and co-host of The Creative Empire, where she helps entrepreneurs in all spaces with templates of contracts to use for their businesses. Christina is giving us the scope on why we need to have contracts in place not only for our business, but for our customers, too. (5:54) “I want people to start thinking about their contracts not only as a normal part of their business but actually as a tool to book more often with less price-sensitive clients.” --Christina Scalera (15:30) “I think it’s just a lack of experience and practice and with that you will get better and better at sending the contract and highlighting the elephant in the room.” --Christina Scalera (17:34) “There is such thing as a non-disclosure agreement. These are really, really helpful for getting into place prior to working with these sub-contractors.” -- Christina Scalera Head over here to www.rocksolidcontract.com for that checklist Christina mentioned in the episode! Season 3 of the podcast is HERE! I'm so excited to bring you yet another series of mind-blowing interviews with some of the most inspiring and savvy minds the internet has to offer. With me today I have Reina Pomeroy, a life and biz success coach who emphasizes heart based business. She helps people pinpoint what's most important to them so they can become the go-to expert in their industry.Reina has become a great internet friend of mine ever since I was interviewed on her podcast, Creative Empire, which she runs with Christina Scalera who you heard from back in Season 1.Reina has a big heart, she's really fun to talk to, she's incredibly relatable and I really think you're going to enjoy this COURAGE story where she tells us all about her winding path to what she does today. We're talking about: How Reina felt her identity as an outgoing creative was ripped from her when she was a new mama trying to juggle work how to discover your values -- the things you must have to make you happy -- and find work that honors them instead of compromising How to step back from your current reality enough to see your situation clearly The value of a "bridge job" and some criteria for finding the right one for youWhy jumping straight to results and answers right away might not be the best strategy when it comes to finding your path SHOW NOTES:Reina's website Fizzle - get 5 weeks freePowersheets by Lara Casey

From coding a website to upholstering a chair - not two things I care to learn how to do, but really, there's a lot I could learn that I just haven't tried to (yet)! In this episode, I sat down with Janet Gwen, the founder and creative director of Janet Gwen Designs, to hear about how she went from dropping out of college to working 3 different retail jobs to building her empire - and teaching herself everything along the way (thanks Google). Janet is this bright bubbly ray of energy and I loved this conversation so much.
