The RFL President's Cup returns to the RL calendar for the first time in two years. It's a competition that pits four representative sides against each other including GB Police, England Universities, UK Armed Forces, and GB Teachers, and is always eagerly awaited. This year's fixtures take place over three Wednesdays in March, April, and May and Dave Parkinson was on hand to talk with each team to find out more.

Tracy's husband, Dave Parkinson, had a radio show when they were in their mid-'20s, in which she started participating as an anti-racist activist. Both Tracy and Dave had strong convictions against racism, poverty, and all kind of injustices, and one day, destiny dropped Jimmy Dennis' case on their laps. Mr. Dennis was convicted for robbing and murdering a 17 years old girl in Philadelphia and sentenced to death at 21. Tracy decided to write him a letter, asking for information about his case, and what she got back would change her life. Dennis sent a 28 pages-long letter with information and legal documents proving his innocence; Tracy and Dave believed him. From that day, they started advocating for Dennis' innocence and liberation. More than 20 years later, Jimmy Dennis proved his innocence and walked free, but that was a tiny piece of Tracy's fantastic story. Today’s guest is Tracy Lamourie and our conversation topic is Activism and International PR.  Tracy always wanted to be a writer or a journalist, so began with the school newspaper. By nature Tracy has always been an activist. With striking red hair and a wicked sense of humor I can see why she is now an undeniable force in the world. Today she is an award-winning international publicist, but that wasn’t her original plan.   She met her husband, Dave Parkinson through a chance meeting when she was in her early 20s. Together they explored their mutual interest in advocacy work, racism, sexism and activism.  They co-hosted a radio show called Uppercut on CIUT Toronto where they explored these topics.    Building A Reputation In Activism & PR   Tracy and Dave became advocates for Jimmy Dennis while exploring the arena of wrongful convictions and the death penalty state side. Their campaign secured Jimmy’s release in 2015, by which time he had been on death row for 20 years. Tracy’s drive and passion to get Jimmy’s story heard is what contributed to his freedom today. Since his release Jimmy has become a recording artist.   Tracy has always been passionate about human rights and giving a voice to the unrepresented. Working on the campaign for Jimmy and others enabled her to develop her skills in PR and Media relations. She has learned how to harness this power to the best advantage.   “Over the years our pro bono work got our advocacy featured in media worldwide from Der Speigal in Germany to CNN to the front pages of newspapers in Florida and Texas”     Tracy’s Media & PR Business   Recognising this was her niche, Tracy began developing it as her business in 2015. This time our guest is a wonderful British musician, DJ and producer Simon Huxtable, known to all lovers of progressive and atmospheric sound in drum & bass music under the alias Aural Imbalance! His musical career began in 1997. He was fond of music, equipment, and collected some hardware for his studio, being thrilled by these things, along with his friend and producer Dave Parkinson, with which they began to play and experiment with the sounds of early drum and bass and jungle. His work is a beautiful soundscapes, fantastic worlds, distant planets and genuine emotion. And more respect from the fans deserve musicians who do not stop at one style, and try their hand at creating different music. So Simon creates not only drum and bass, but also a wonderful deep progressive house and downtempo music. And especially for us, he recorded his own mix of copyright works and remixes in the style of deep and progressive house music and spoke a few words about the mix and gave Happy New Year to his fans: "The music within the mix are various deep space house creations that I have been involved with either in the form of original tunes or remixes, I wanted to span various ages of the tracks so there are some older and newer pieces in the arrangement of the set, I really hope that you connect with the mix and feel that you want to listen to it over and over, when I plan my mixes I have the intention that if you were to listen to the mix in a loop it would work in a cyclic fashion so the end would work with the beginning, I hope that this makes sense.
