Even more than it is today. In this episode we return to the olden days and take a look at the world of 40k where space marines all behave like Night Lords, Primarch is just a title you can be promoted to, Emperor is some normal guy who was born to human parents and was afraid of dying so he put himself into the jar, Roboute Guilliman is a pile of dusty bones on a shelf in Macragge, Orks get laid, and Rogal Dorn poops on the floor. Left without much options we also touch on the scariest of topic all: Ian Watson.Support the show
Paula qualified as a homeopath in 2004 and began work immediately specialising in the support of autism and autistic spectrum conditions. She completed additional training as a CEASE Therapist in 2010 and then also later trained with Ton Jansen in his detox method. She now weaves classical homeopathy with this amazing system of detoxification in order to remove toxic blocks so that classical remedies can work to their maximum effect. During this time she has had the privilege of working with countless wonderful families, and her work expanded to treating children with complex issues. A large part of Paula's work includes supporting families with children and young adults with violent and challenging behaviour. Paula has personal experience of autism and complex health issues, and this has created a passion for and deep understanding of the difficult situation an increasing number of families find themselves in. In 2013 Paula stumbled across an understanding called the Three Principles of Innate Health. This proved to be a defining moment in her life. Paula then did a year long Three Principles facilitator training with Ian Watson. She is now committed to sharing her understanding with others in order to facilitate a less stressful and more joyful experience of life. She feels blessed to say that her work really is her passion, and her life purpose is to share what she has seen and to support people to live abundant, joyful, peaceful lives – however insurmountable their life circumstances may seem. Back from vacation with our summer blockbuster episode: author, Reverse Shot co-founder and editor, and Editorial Director at Museum of the Moving Image Michael Koresky joins us to proselytize Steven Spielberg's A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001). Michael takes us back to being an intern in 2001, watching A.I. six times in theaters, how both Spielberg and Stanley Kubrick do “sentimentality with a point,” Jude Law's dialogue, parables of loss, and how this “unexpected sledgehammer” of 00s' filmmaking sticks with him today. For more, read story writer Ian Watson's account of working with Kubrick and Michael's Reverse Shot co-founder Jeff Reichert on “the desperation underlying much of human love.” The Bright Wall/Dark Room Podcast is co-hosted by Veronica Fitzpatrick and Chad Perman and produced and edited by Eli Sands. Join us for an inspiring Story of Hope interview with Robyn! When I went to Robyns' website (feelyourgood.com ) she did such great job introducing herself that I'm copying that here: “Five years ago, I was deeply depressed and chronically anxious, my entire experience was consumed by self-criticism, and I thought this was normal. I also had cancer spreading through my body and a one-year-old daughter I was struggling to love. This seemed less normal. I knew something had to change - hopefully my trajectory - and in seeking help from my lifelong friend and alternative practitioner Ian Watson. Through working with Ian and his colleague Carol Boroughs I experienced a massive shift in perspective. And EVERYTHING changed. I fell in love with my daughter, left my husband and started living. I fell in love with life. Paradoxically, I felt less need to control everything and I breezed through cancer treatments with little attachment to the outcome. It is my belief that this was instrumental in my recovery. Loving ourselves deeply and allowing ourselves to BE fully is the best thing we can do for our health. I found I could give myself permission to live, to love, and to feel and not only would I survive my feelings, but I would thrive. Because of my experience I now really enjoy working with people facing disease and the psychological impact it has. I also enjoy working with those who find themselves struggling as parents. “ You do not want to miss this episode! *Please note we do talk about suicidal ideation (I think in a very positive, light-hearted, hopeful way) So many HUGE
This week's show is with Ian Watson. Ian is an educator, author and facilitator who has worked in the field of well-being, holistic healing and inner transformation since 1988. He has travelled extensively giving seminars, courses and retreats around the world. Ian became widely known as a speaker and writer in homeopathy, which he taught and practised until 2003. He subsequently trained in a wide variety of psychological and emotional healing disciplines in the following decade. Ian has been a lifelong student of the work of Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung and the great spiritual traditions of the world, taoism and zen buddhism in particular. In 2011 he discovered the work of Sydney Banks which has been pivotal in aligning his psychological and spiritual understanding together with his holistic approach to health and healing. In this conversation, Ian and Lian journeyed into the topic of balancing the descent to soul with the ascent to spirit, or said differently, the transcendent path versus the path of knowing oneself. They explored the transcendent aspect of the mythological journey and the integration of the spiritual and earthly realms. Lian and Ian both share personal experiences of the transcendent and discuss the role of the Three Principles understanding in making sense of these experiences. They also explored the Western focus on individuality and the importance of heeding intuition and wisdom in order to follow the path of our own soul. The conversation highlights the need to balance the transcendent and earthly realms to live a spiritual life in the physical world. I'd love to know what YOU think about this week's show. Let's carry on the conversation… please leave a comment below. What you'll learn from this episode: The mythological journey can take us onto seemingly contrary paths that honor both the transcendent aspect and a descent into the human experience and our unique bodies and souls. Following intuition and wisdom can lead to a deeper understanding of one's path and the integration of the transcendent and earthly realms. Living a spiritual life involves recognising the sacredness of the earth and the body. Remembering and forgetting is a natural part of our experience. I'm Jamie Smart - welcome to the podcast. And in this session you're going to hear a conversation I had recently with my dear friend and colleague, Ian Watson. Ian and I have been in each other's lives for the past 20 years, and those years have included many twists and turns as we've encountered obstacles, followed our inner guidance and found our way forward (sometimes more easily than others). Some of the topics we explored included - Following your bliss - Trust in ‘the invisible' - Being willing to take ‘the road less travelled' - Doing what you love - And much more By the way, our next ClarityLive! event is next weekend (November 19-20) and the theme is in a similar domain: Purpose, Principles & Personal Expression: How to bring dream projects to life for yourself and others (even if you don't know what they are yet). We're being joined by guest speakers including my dear friend and colleague, Cathy Casey. Cathy pioneered taking the principles into the California prison system and is a master of stepping into the unknown and bringing unique expression to life. We're also being joined by another dear friend, Carl Harvey, founder of the Abundance Book Club and The Big Life show (he was also MindValley's head copywriter for a couple of years - Carl's a powerhouse). How can you help people who are stuck in chronic patterns of psychological and emotional suffering? In this episode, Ian will discuss the guiding ideas of the late Sydney Banks' program, known as The Three Principles. The program's guiding principles are based on the idea that everyone has an underlying capacity for resilience and well-being and that happiness and wellbeing are the natural states of all human beings. Ian will also share with us how to restore our natural state of wellbeing from harmful habits and behaviors that develop in response to internal distress. Ian Watson is a transformational educator and trainer, specializing in an understanding of the principles behind innate wellbeing and resilience known as the "three principles paradigm." Ian has almost thirty years experience as an educator and facilitator in the field of wellbeing and innate health. His work is designed to be transformational rather than informational, as it is only through a person's own insight and realization that deep and sustainable change can occur. He has worked in the field of wellbeing and personal transformation since 1988. He began his journey as a teenager, exploring the healing power of herbs, flower essences, and homeopathy. On the Secret Witch Show today our guest is Ian Watson. Ian is a writer, educator and trainer who has worked in the field of energy medicine, natural healing and personal transformation since 1988. He was the founder of a homeopathic training school in 1993 and is the author of four popular homeopathic textbooks. After a long exploration into various forms of psychological and emotional healing, Ian was introduced to the Three Principles understanding in 2011, and this has been the foundation of his work ever since as he now trains practitioners in the innate wellbeing paradigm. In this episode - which was so full of gems - Ian and Nicole explore what we mean by “energetic medicine” - and illuminate how Phosphoric Secret Witches often have a deep call within them towards magical, energetic work (which is often lying as a dormant susceptibility, and usually expressed as ‘shamed' sensitivity). We discuss magic versus science, and how to harness energetic medicine for our own, magical healing - and the importance of healing energetically ourselves, before learning to become our medicine for others. What You'll Learn from this Episode: Magical ones do not always grow up having had magical initiations - it is a conscious choice to initiate ourselves into our magical, medicinal powers. It's also likely inevitable that we eventually follow the call to invoking energetic medicine - if we grant ourselves permission to, despite our many distractions. If we don't, largely soul finds a way to make it happen. Not everyone is here to be a Magical One - it's a unique gift - and yet one that most Witches deny themselves because of fear. Magical women are often born as Phosphoric constitutions - which is the personality everyone longs to be born as for their magical, open, bubbly, light, effervescent energy - but often, in the mundane world and through fear, Phosphorus burns out from seeking approval and shaming her deep sensitivity - and not knowing how to harness her open, magical energy, which can leave her not trusting. The Remedies of the Wild and their homeopathic lineage are forms of energetic medicine - and yet, these paths can often be doubted by those looking for logical, linear ways to heal (which we are taught are the “right way” by the modern world). Science - whilst wonderful - often looks at the homeopathy in a reductionist way which doesn't support the way it works to return people to their Unique Expression of Whole-Souledness. Science created its own way of measuring everything - and homeopathy doesn't necessarily fit into that way, but it doesn't mean it's wrong; it's just mysterious and yet unknown because it is magic. We are all susceptible to specific remedy relationship patterns, and within those, we can heal our wounds, in order to discover our gifts - and this can become our unique medicine for the world. The Witch Wound - as a homeopathic miasm - makes sense from the perspective of epigenetics: AND, it doesn't mean we can't heal from it and expand past being stuck with it. The deep invitation is to learn to heal ourselves, and reclaim our power to heal (rather than giving that power away, innocently). Although energetic medicine is aimed to be “rapid, gentle and permanent”, we can sometimes experience healing responses - also called “Material for Liberation” or activation or trigger - when working with energetic medicine, but these are not to be feared as they are good signs that healing is working. Anything can be a healing remedy - even a piece of music - and it's about listening into our hearts as to what is medicine for us. It is the resonance that matters, as like-cures-like, so a resonance will be healing. We can also dose Remedies of the Wild energetically - working in an honouring and sacred way with each remedy as an archetypal personality.

Prepare for betrayal, mutiny and jetpacks!?” (thanks Marky See!)“The red carpet gets roled out for the crew, but the food could be better and someone doesn't want to eat at the kiddy table. A BIGGER BOAT: BROKEN ROBOTS Co-host Ken is joined this episode by saucy songstress Andi to talk her favorite and least favorite Spielberg.JAWS (1974) is about a broken robot shark hungry for love. You all know the story. Spielberg was in full-on genius mode as a twelve-year-old (sourcing needed) directing JAWS and is famous for a broken mechanical shark necessitating making it unseen for most of the movie. A.I. (2001) is about a broken robot boy hungry for love. Spielberg mopped up after the greatest filmmaker of all time, Stanley Kubrick, developed A.I. for decades. Spielberg got full screenwriting credit despite much of certain sections being verbatim from Kubrick's and Ian Watson's written work prior to Kubrick's untimely, tragic, something-cinema-may-never-recover-from, death in 1999. Hey, Spielberg cut out all the robot sex scenes - because OF COURSE he did. Kubrick's films are often better 20 years later than upon their initial release. They age extremely well. How does Spielberg's version of Kubrick handle a two-decade reappraisal? Spoiler: Not well.Side note: Andi performed all three Clint Eastwood theme songs for seasons 1-3 and married Ken to get out of having to do any more! While the Covid-19 pandemic hit most retailers hard, it created uniquely intense challenges for Hotter Shoes. The vast majority of the footwear retailer's sales were to older customers who patronized the company's brick-and-mortar stores. These customers, who are not digital natives, were among the least likely to shift to buying online. Hotter needed to build up its e-commerce presence and appeal to a new group of shoppers at the same time. While the company implemented First Insight's “Voice of the Customer” predictive analytics to make more accurate design, buying and pricing decisions back in December 2019, the comfort footwear manufacturer and retailer has since gained a longer-term benefit of its deep digital transformation: attracting newer, younger shoppers. In this chat, Ian Watson, CEO of Hotter Shoes, and Greg Petro, CEO of First Insight, talk with Sourcing Journal founder and president Edward Hertzman about how Hotter Shoes has expanded into a younger customer base.
