Justin shares what he heard from Freeze on Jackson Arnold, Deuce Knight, Eric Singleton and the Auburn offense. Dan is interested in the state of the offensive line. They also break down a new-look spring practice schedule and how it makes sense for the Tigers to shake things up.The episode concludes with a preview of Auburn basketball's trip to Ole Miss for a major road game in Oxford. Recruiting reporting pioneer Tom Lemming joins Irish Illustrated for our annual Signing Day edition of our Tracking the Trail podcast. Deuce Knight is headed to Auburn. Derek Meadows is slated to play under Brian Kelly in Baton Rouge. Our sources strongly suggest that USC is on pace to cross the finish line in the Irish - Trojans race to win the Madden Faraimo sweepstakes. And after flirting with the idea of going to school in the Midwest, Jalen Wiggins will stick with his original Florida Gators pledge. On the other hand, although there lacks new news, Notre Dame earned important developments today. Perhaps the nation's most promising left tackle headlines a trio of tackle signees standing no less than 6-foot-7. A former lesser-known three-star receiver commitment is now trending toward a shot at developing into one of the best pass-catchers signed with Freeman at the top of the program. And most notably, on paper and per the rankings, Notre Dame may have signed its best group of defensive backs of the modern recruiting era today, headlined by in-state phenom and two-sport superstar Mark Zackery. Discussing all of the above and more with Irish Illustrated today on Tracking the Trail is Tom Lemming. Be sure to tune in.
Jay G. Tate goes back to his roots to do a SOLO SHOW discussing the most pressing news, which today centers on the football team's huge victory over the Texas A&M Aggies. Topics: • Auburn finally made it happen! • Dre's catch in the fourth overtime was an "oh shit" moment of there ever was one. • Jarquez did what Jarquez does. • Cam Coleman sure has come a long way in a short period of time. • Defense had problems against A&M, but the fight and the fervor never abated. • Why I think Durkin is a better version of Muschamp. • Is this Iron Bowl fertile soil for the Auburn Tigers? • "Twas a hugh weekend from a recruiting perspective. • Updates on Deuce Knight, Ousmane Kromah, Darrion Smith, Malik Autry and Justus Terry. • Basketball is preparing for the Iowa State game tonight! • The case for playing Kai and Turtle ASAP. • The secret to Auburn's defensive excellence. The show ends with a very tight supply of salutations, shoutouts and a couple shoutdowns for the most outstanding members (this week) from The Bunker community. Great folks and a great community! Ben Garrett and Zach Berry of the Ole Miss Spirit (OMSpirit.com) come together for this Monday (November 11, 2024) edition of Talk of Champions to perform a temperature check on a number of Ole Miss football recruiting targets. The Rebels (8-2, 4-2 SEC) hosted a number of top-ranked prospects for their 28-10 beatdown of Georgia (7-2, 5-2) on Saturday. Among them was Caleb Cunningham — a five-star wide receiver ranked as the No. 1 player in Mississippi for the 2025 class. Could Ole Miss be on the verge of flipping Cunningham from Alabama? Deuce Knight, the five-star in-state quarterback, was in town, too. Where do the Rebels stand with the long-time target and current Auburn commitment?Even more, Ole Miss defensive coordinator Pete Golding sent out a shark emoji on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, not long after the final horn of the historic win. Ben and Zach have some ideas of who Golding was possibly referencing. Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin said Sunday he expects the next 48 hours to be quite fruitful for the Rebels on the trail. The guys tell you why. Talk of Champions is always powered by RiverLand Roofing. No one is doing more for Ole Miss football in the NIL space than RiverLand Roofing. Bryan Matthews, Caleb Jones, Brian Stultz and Jay G. Tate reconvene in the Old Football Complex to discuss the most pressing news, which today centers on the Tigers' loss at Georgia. That is the team's fourth in six games this season. The discussion includes: • Payton Thorne played reasonably well. • Auburn didn't turn the ball over. • What in the world happened on that 4th-and-1 at the top of the 4th quarter? • Auburn's run game is working. Why isn't Hugh Freeze using it more? • Does Freeze understand just how bad this situation has become? • With Vanderbilt getting the win over Alabama, where can Auburn get wins on this remaining schedule? • Deuce Knight finally flipped! What does this mean for the rest of this (relatively full) class? • Kail Ellis is now a Class of 2025 recruit. The show ends with a considerable supply of salutations, shoutouts and a couple shoutdowns for the most outstanding members (this week) from The Bunker community. Great folks and a great community! This wasn't a huge surprise, but it produces some interesting discussions. Does Hugh Freeze have to get a QB out of the portal now that he has the No. 7 QB recruit in the country in the class? Would 2024 freshman Walker White or Knight be able to be QB1 next year? Does this mean the C.J. Carr era begins at Notre Dame in 2025? Or will the Fighting Irish get a starting QB out of the portal for the third consecutive season? Now it's time for your questions… Will the Big Ten and SEC be shut out of the Heisman Trophy ceremony? Consensus four-star prospect Deuce Knight is the only quarterback Ole Miss is currently recruiting for its 2025 class. However, with each passing day, it's looking more and more like landing him will be a long shot, at best, for the Rebels. Knight is one of Mississippi's top recruits. He's been committed to Notre Dame for nearly a year. Ole Miss and Alabama have been the only constant, non-Notre Dame contenders. But Alabama fell out earlier this summer. Ole Miss, then, was all alone.Or so it seemed. On3 national recruiting reporter Steve Wilfong is THE authority on such predictions. Wilfong believes Auburn currently has all momentum.
