Wednesday morning Alana Goodman of the Washington Free Beacon reported that a gentleman named Pin Ni, who is a US-based executive with luxury electric car maker KARMA Automotive gave $50,000 over two contributions to the gubernatorial campaign of former CIA officer Abigail Spanberger. Ni, more troubling, listed as a member of the Chinese Communist Party. US Election law prohibits campaign contributions from foreign nationals, and the Chinese government insists that you renounce your Citizenship in order to qualify for US dual citizenship. So, one or the other must be true. For Spanberger, a big contribution from an Electric Vehicle manufacturer that would certainly have an interest in making sure that the Virginia Clean Economy Act doesn't get change or go away is problematic. Doubly ironic given the amount of angst that was expressed by the Democratic party leadership in 2021 about Glenn Youngkin's extensive business ties having been CEO of the Carlyse Group before being elected Governor. However, that isn't nearly the crime that accepting a political donation from a foreign national would be. The Beacon story says that Ni sits on the board of directors for the Wanxiang Group, which he founded in 1994. The company's 2025 annual report says that Ni had "been recognized" as an "Outstanding Communist Party Member of the Group" 15 times. Spanberger needs to address this but without any debates scheduled, Earle-Sears may not get a direct chance so it's up to the Virginia press corps. Before the story came out the Daily Signal spoke with Republican Party of Virginia Chair, State Senator Mark Peake about President Trump's statements regarding endorsing Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears in her race against Spanberger and her unwillingness to debate and that is the podcast you are about to listen to. After seeing the story, he told us; “It doesn't surprise me that Chinese communists want Spanberger to win. I am sure they have reviewed her voting record in Congress and prefer her to a true, conservative patriot like Winsome Sears.” Keep Up With The Daily Signal Sign up for our email newsletters: https://www.dailysignal.com/email Subscribe to our other shows: The Tony Kinnett Cast: https://open.spotify.com/show/7AFk8xjiOOBEynVg3JiN6g The Signal Sitdown: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL2026390376 Problematic Women: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL7765680741 Victor Davis Hanson: https://megaphone.link/THEDAILYSIGNAL9809784327 Follow The Daily Signal: X: https://x.com/intent/user?screen_name=DailySignal Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thedailysignal/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheDailySignalNews/ Truth Social: https://truthsocial.com/@DailySignal YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/dailysignal?sub_confirmation=1 Subscribe on your favorite podcast platform and never miss an episode. This week on Breaking Battlegrounds, Sam is joined by guest host Michelle Ugenti-Rita, and they first welcome Henry Olsen of the Ethics and Public Policy Center, who explains what European leaders misunderstand about Trump's stance on Ukraine and what his transactional approach to foreign policy really means. Then, RealClearPolitics' Susan Crabtree breaks down Donald Trump's alleged Epstein birthday letter, raising serious questions about media credibility, source verification, and political motives. Finally, Dominic Pino of National Review explores Governor Glenn Youngkin's ambitious deregulatory successes in Virginia, the failure of massive K–12 education spending to improve student outcomes, and why FDR was right to oppose public sector unions. Plus, in Kiley's Corner, Kiley covers two shocking criminal cases: the arrest of 17-year-old Sarah Grace Patrick for allegedly murdering her mother and stepfather while they slept, and an attempted honor killing in Washington state, where two parents are charged with trying to strangle their daughter after she refused an arranged marriage and fled to avoid being sent to Iraq. Join Jim and Greg for 3 Martini Lunch as they break down the surprising friction between House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, a New Jersey Democrat's eyebrow-raising success in the stock market since arriving in Congress, and a disingenuous left-wing media attack on Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman.Jim and Greg begin with new details surrounding National Security Adviser Mike Waltz's departure before thoroughly enjoying the growing divide between Hakeem Jeffries and Nancy Pelosi. Jeffries is reportedly distancing himself and no longer seeking Pelosi's counsel. This story has many delicious layers, but it clearly highlights a Democratic party that's still not sure where it's going.Next, they dig into the Washington Free Beacon's investigation of New Jersey Democratic Rep. Mikie Sherrill's improbable financial gains since joining Congress. Jim emphasizes how these stories deepen public distrust in government, while Greg notes the media's pattern of downplaying financial controversies involving Democrats, from Whitewater to campaign fundraising scandals. Finally, they tackle New York magazine's hit piece on Sen. John Fetterman, which raises questions about his health and personal life. Jim points out that these same outlets once claimed Fetterman was fit to serve shortly after suffering a major stroke and argues that the real reason for the shift is Fetterman's willingness to buck his party on a tiny number of issues. Please visit our great sponsors:It's free, online, and easy to start—no strings attached. Early this month, Harvard Law School students participated in a “Wikipedia Edit-A-Thon” workshop. Students were asked to "gather data to edit the Wikipedia pages of Big Law firms to reflect cases they have recently argued," according to The Washington Free Beacon. What actually happened? Several students singled out and warped the Wikipedia pages of big law firms who previously that they would cut back recruitment from universities that did not curb the spread of anti-Semitism on-campus following the Oct. 7 Hama terror attacks. What are we getting at? For decades, America's elite law schools have degraded their standards in the pursuit of social justice and have become wholly dependent on foreign money. Now, it's finally catching up to them, argues Victor Davis Hanson on today's edition of “Victor Davis Hanson: In His Own Words.”

Eliya Cohen, Omer Shem Tov, Omer Wenkert, and Tal Shoham were abducted on October 7, 2023. Avera Mengistu, an Ethiopian-Israeli, and Hisham al-Sayed, an Israeli Arab, had crossed into Gaza in 2014 and 2015, and were then taken hostage by Hamas.Hamas's decision to release more living hostages than originally planned today is believed – according to our Israeli sources – to be a response to a sustained American pressure campaign. Part of that pressure includes President Trump's proposal for the U.S. to take control of Gaza and relocate its entire population. Two weeks since its unveiling, Trump's Gaza proposal has continued to drive headlines and debate around the world. Though that proposal is already impacting the policy decisions of various stakeholders in Gaza, it is still largely perceived as a shocking, unprecedented idea. For this episode of Call Me Back, we sat down with a historian who argues that Trump's plan is in fact aligned with the outcome of many modern wars. Andrew Roberts is a British historian, member of the House of Lords, and the author of 24 books, including the New York Times bestseller, Churchill: Walking with Destiny. In a recent article for the Washington Free Beacon, Roberts writes, “peoples who unleash unprovoked aggressive wars against their neighbors and are then defeated…lose either their government or their sovereignty, or both.”To read more by Andrew Roberts on this topic, go to the Washington Free Beacon: https://freebeacon.com/israel/the-historical-case-for-trumps-riviera/
Elon Musk's DOGE crew continues to shine a light on how our federal government operates, and it is exposing more climate grift than even the most cynical among us could have imagined. The latest involves the EPA giving failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams $2 billion to expand "clean energy by prioritizing housing, equity, and resilience." Her organization, Power Forward Communities, says it will install heat pumps, solar panels, EV chargers, and other "green" technology. Does Abrams have any expertise in this field? No. In fact, her organization incorporated itself with $100 in the bank just months before receiving $2 billion of our tax money. The Washington Free Beacon also reported this week that the man Biden put in charge of the EPA's "Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund" funneled $5 billion to his former employer, something called the Coalition for Green Capital. The climate grifters are being exposed, and the EPA is trying to claw these billions of dollars back. But how deep does the corruption go? We're bringing in Steve Milloy of the Energy and Environmental Legal Institute, an EPA transition team member in Trump's first term, to get a handle on it. The Heartland Institute's Anthony Watts, H. Sterling Burnett, Linnea Lueken, and Jim Lakely will also cover some of the Crazy Climate News of the Week, including a look at NOAA data showing the second-biggest month-to-month temperature drop since 2009.
Andrew Walworth, Tom Bevan and Carl Cannon discuss today's announcement by Senator Mitch McConell that he would not run again for his Senate Seat and a new article from the Washington Free Beacon that reports a 2 billion dollar earmark – found by DOGE – for a brand new organization with links to Democratic activist Stacy Abrams. They also talk about the new HHS guidelines that align the agency with a January executive order signed by President Donald Trump on defining the sexes, and CBS Anchor Gayle King, Congressman Eric Swalwell, and others blaming the Trump administration for the recent airline crashes. Plus, Trump's use of monarchical images, including portraying himself wearing a crown, on social media. Also, Hamas releasing the remains of four Israeli hostages, including two children and their mother, who died while being held captive by the terrorist group. Then finally, Carl Cannon talks with investigative reporter Judith Miller about the prospects for Mideast peace in the wake of today's hostage release.
