Check out the full episode: https://greatness.lnk.to/1783DM Danny Morel says your suffering didn't start with a bad relationship or a career setback. It started the day you were born. The moment you left the womb, fear entered. Your parents' unresolved pain, the arguments, the stress, the silence, was already imprinting into your subconscious before you could walk or talk. By age seven, you had written the story: I'm not enough. I can't be me. I can't speak my truth. Danny's own mom lost her mother at 13 days old. His father was disowned and couldn't finish a sentence without stuttering. Both passed their wounds down without ever knowing it. Lewis admits his own voice was locked for over 30 years. Send us Fan MailHurt has a way of sneaking into every relationship, and if we don't deal with it, it doesn't just fade. It hardens. Ken and Tabitha Claytor get honest about how emotional wounds, unmet expectations, betrayal, and disappointment can quietly turn into bitterness that reshapes your personality, drains your joy, and poisons your marriage, friendships, and faith. We talk through what hurt really is, why “church hurt” is often just people hurt, and how maturity means learning to stay grounded instead of running from every painful moment. Along the way, we share real stories, name the difference between reacting and responding, and explain how replaying pain without healing creates resentment, cynicism, suspicion, and withdrawal. If you've felt guarded, negative, or constantly bracing for the worst, we help you spot the signs of a bitter root before it spreads. Then we get practical and spiritual. We walk through eight clear steps for healing, including prayer, forgiveness without an apology, choosing safe people to process with, refusing a victim mindset, and using gratitude to starve bitterness. We close with a powerful prayer and daily declarations you can speak to break the cycle and move forward free.Subscribe, share this with someone who's carrying heavy hurt, and leave a review if it helps. Some relationship patterns aren't about the present. They're about wounds your nervous system learned a long time ago. In this episode, John Kim breaks down some of the most common emotional wounds people carry into relationships, including abandonment, rejection, betrayal, control, emotional deprivation, and loss of self. He explains how these wounds become patterns, why we react instead of respond, and what healing actually looks like in real time. Key points covered: • Why wounds are about meaning, not just events • How childhood experiences shape adult relationship patterns • The difference between reacting from protection vs truth • Why people repeat the same emotional cycles in relationships • How abandonment and rejection wounds show up in everyday moments • What it means to create a corrective love experience John also shares personal reflections about rebuilding life after losing his home in the Altadena fires and moving into a new home in Costa Rica. He mentions his upcoming book, Love Hard on Purpose, and a private WhatsApp group for readers who pre-order the book. If this episode helped you, share it with someone who needs it and follow the podcast for more conversations on relationships, healing, and growth.
Have you ever looked at your emotional scars and felt like they were something you needed to hide instead of acknowledge? Many women carry visible (and invisible) scars and deeper life experiences that stay with them over time. These moments can leave an emotional wound that shapes how you see yourself and how you move through your life. In this episode, we are joined by Christa Welch, a licensed clinical social worker and founder of Betty Center. She shares the story behind a powerful photography project that invites women to be seen in a more honest and compassionate way. We talk about how the Women with Scars exhibition supports authentic living by helping women reconnect with their stories. Christa also shares how her mother shaped her vision for a healing space for women, along with the meaning behind capturing women in natural settings. She opens up about her divorce and her experience as a survivor of cancer, which strengthened her commitment to supporting others through overcoming trauma. We also explore overcoming shame through connection, honesty, and finding people who can hold space without judgment. You'll learn in this episode: Why your experiences can support growth and strengthen your sense of personal resilience How a supportive environment can help women build self compassion for women and feel more grounded The role of storytelling in supporting emotional repair and deeper understanding How connection and community, including single mother support , can help during difficult life transitions Simple ways to reconnect with your body and emotions through practices that support holistic wellness for women If you've been searching for guidance around substance abuse, healing, or understanding your own scars, this episode offers a grounded perspective that encourages care, reflection, mindful movement, and forward progress. Many people intuitively know their past is connected to their current struggles — but intellectualizing it or ruminating on it doesn't create real healing.

Wounds Without Toxic PositivityIn this episode of The More Live Podcast, I sit down with my dear friend to talk about my book Scar Tissue: How to Find Relief from the Pain of Your Emotional Wounds Without Toxic Positivity and the deeper truths about grief, healing, and personal power. We explore grief beyond death, why toxic positivity can actually delay healing, and how language, responsibility, and choice shape our emotional freedom. I share the story behind why this book exists, how losing my daughter Leyden reshaped every part of my life, and why grief is not something to get over but something to integrate. This conversation is for anyone navigating loss, identity shifts, heartbreak, or the quiet griefs we don't always name. If you've ever felt stuck between honoring your pain and wanting to move forward without betraying your love, this episode will meet you exactly where you are.Show Notes: In this deeply honest conversation, I share the journey behind Scar Tissue and the lessons grief has taught me about power, responsibility, and freedom. We talk about redefining grief beyond death, dismantling entitlement disguised as worthiness, and why eliminating the word “should” changed my entire life.We also explore how grief can become a source of connection rather than something that isolates us, how to work with emotional energy instead of numbing or bypassing it, and why healing is not about moving on but moving forward with love. This episode is an invitation to stop outsourcing your worth, reclaim your agency, and become a conscious co-creator with your pain instead of a victim to it.In this episode, we explore:• Why grief is more than death and how it shows up in everyday life• The difference between toxic positivity and empowered healing• How language like “should” creates guilt, shame, and disempowerment• The concept of grief as energy and how to transmute it• Why you are worthy but not entitled and how that distinction creates freedom• How to integrate loss without losing connection• The role of radical responsibility in healing emotional wounds• Why grief is not a blank check to be an asshole• How nervous system regulation plays a key role in long-term healing• What it really means to move forward without betraying love Catch up with me on socials!Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/melissadlugolecki/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/melissa.dlugoleckiLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/melissa-dlugolecki-b24988141/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@melissadlugoleckiYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@MelissaDlugolecki
Unhealed wounds do not disappear with time. They embed themselves into the heart, the body, and the way we interpret life. In this episode, Dr. Delisa Rodgers unpacks the spiritual, emotional, and biblical reality of unresolved pain and why untreated emotional injuries often surface as destructive patterns, distorted thinking, and internal battles we cannot explain. Drawing from Scripture and Hebrew word studies, this teaching reveals how the heart, the lev, shapes the outflow of our lives, and how God's healing nature, Jehovah Rapha, was revealed not in perfection but in moments of bitterness and pain. You will hear why forgiveness does not require forgetting, how suppressed pain affects the body and mind, and why healing is less about reliving trauma and more about stewarding the soul wisely. This episode bridges biblical truth, trauma awareness, and spiritual authority to offer clarity, compassion, and a pathway toward restoration. If you have ever wondered why certain reactions feel bigger than the moment, why old wounds resurface under pressure, or how God heals what time cannot, this teaching will bring understanding and hope. Healing is possible. Wholeness is biblical. And what is faced in the light no longer has power in the dark.

In this "how-to" and "identity" episode, we will look at the biblical principle of guarding your heart. What does it mean? How do you do it? What happens when you do? What happens when you don't? Proverbs 4:23-27 will be broken down to look at how what you see, say, and do affect your level of God's protection. What open doors can have you walk outside of God's loving protection? What can you do to break free from that bondage and avoid that trap in the future? Jesus shares insight about when it may be His will for you to remove yourself from people or situations in order to guard your heart. We all carry wounds with us some we know about, some we've buried. And when we don't heal them, they show up in our lives in ways we don't expect. They pull in the wrong people, lower our self-worth, and make us settle because we assume we can't have what we really want. These wounds often start in childhood, but they can also form later through heartbreak, hard seasons, or major life changes. In this episode, we talk about how these wounds shape you, how they keep you stuck, and what it really takes to heal so they stop running your life.
Send us a textIn this powerful continuation of last week's conversation, we go deeper into the truth many couples avoid: unhealed childhood wounds don't stay in childhood— they grow up with us, and they show up in our marriages as patterns, reactions, and emotional habits that quietly damage connection. In Part II, we walk listeners through the real-life behaviors that come from unresolved pain: overreacting, shutting down, controlling tendencies, people-pleasing, hyper-independence, defensiveness, and emotional avoidance. These patterns aren't random. They are learned survival responses from childhood that become destructive communication styles in adulthood.Through vulnerable insight, biblical grounding, and practical tools, we explore how to recognize these patterns, interrupt them, and begin creating a safe emotional environment in your marriage. Healing doesn't happen by accident— it happens by intentional reflection, accountability, and allowing God to deal with the roots, not just the symptoms. If you're ready to stop repeating cycles, stop reacting from old wounds, and build a marriage that reflects healing instead of survival mode, this episode is for you. Your marriage can't transform until you do.Tune in, grow, and begin the work that leads to real restoration.Support the show
Some children grow up in war zones, sleeping in shelters, surrounded by danger. Others grow up in mansions with trust funds. Yet the research is clear: The first group often becomes more grounded, courageous, and emotionally stable… while the second group can grow into anxious, brittle adults who look successful but feel empty inside. The difference isn't money. It's presence. A loving, attuned caregiver gives a child the kind of presence their brain depends on — warm eyes, soothing tone, patient listening, and consistent comfort. And when that emotional presence is missing, the impact can mirror physical neglect or abuse. Not because anyone intended harm — but because a child's nervous system only registers one question: "Did someone make me feel secure, seen, and held… or not?" In this episode, I show why emotional presence builds the brain, the self, and the capacity for resilience… why achievement-addicted parents unintentionally raise insecure high-performers who chase validation their whole lives… and how adults who never received this warmth can reparent themselves and break the cycle. If you grew up performing for love… or if you're a parent who wants to give your child what actually matters… this episode will change the way you think about success, achievement, and legacy. Listen now. Show Highlights Include: The most important form of "nutrition" every child needs — and why money can't replace it (1:31) How achievement-driven parenting creates adults who perform, please, and self-abandon (2:47) The science of how affection shapes the brain — and what happens when it's missing (4:08) Why secure attachment is the real foundation of courage and confidence (6:12) The "Monkey Experiment" which proves we're hardwired for connection more than food (6:39) How even minor neglect of a child wires insecurity directly into a child's nervous system (8:25) The insidious way emotional absence creates almost as many wounds as physical abuse and starvation in the developing brain (8:50) Here is exactly what happens to a child's development when every need is met besides the most important one (they have lower IQs, lower weights, are emotionally unstable, and more) (10:18) How absence of love breaks a child even if they have everything else - and how presence of love raises a child into greatness even if they have nothing else (20:43) The five words every child needs to hear and believe (25:01) For more about David Tian, go here: https://www.davidtianphd.com/about/ Feeling like success in one area of life has come at the expense of another? Some stories crack you open — this one rebuilds you from the inside out. In this episode, I sit down with Melissa, author of Scar Tissue: How to Find Relief from the Pain of Your Emotional Wounds Without Toxic Positivity — and what unfolds is part soul confession, part masterclass in alchemy. Want to go deeper? Check out The Met Woman - Get Your Feminine Spark Back for more tools to embody the queen energy that has your desires chasing you. After losing her daughter, Melissa learned what it really means to live awake inside your grief. She doesn't sugarcoat it — she shows us how to name it, move with it, and let it transform you into someone more powerful, more present, more alive. This one will shake something loose in you (and then teach you how to hold it). Here's what we explore: The difference between “feeling it” and healing it — and how to tell which one you're doing The spiritual truth behind grief that no amount of positivity can touch What happens when you stop performing healing and start living it How radical responsibility becomes the ultimate freedom practice Why “the spine of the queen” starts with sacred rage and real surrender How love — even in loss — becomes the bridge to your next purpose ✨ Try this: Next time your heart aches, resist the urge to fix it. Sit with it. Name it. Ask what it's here to teach you. That's where your power hides. Grab Melissa's book Scar Tissue wherever you read — and if this episode cracked you open, share it with someone who needs to remember that healing doesn't mean happy… it means holy. Some stories are just hard to tell without breaking down. For many women, divorce isn't just an event. It's a reckoning, a forced pause, a mirror held up to every belief we've ever had about love, safety, our bodies, and our worth. And when we don't process that pain? It stays. It festers. It shows up in our hormones, our skin, our weight, and our autoimmune flares. It gets louder until we finally listen. That's why I brought on Maura Eliza—traditional naturopath and founder of The Vibrant Way—to talk about the overlooked connection between emotional trauma, divorce, and the physical symptoms that follow. Maura's work is rooted in German New Medicine and bioenergetics, and she's developed a method to help women release subconscious trauma (the stuff that never surfaces in talk therapy) and actually rewire how the body processes heartbreak and loss. In this episode, we unpack how the body stores trauma from unexpected experiences (like betrayal or custody battles), why women often feel physical symptoms years after leaving toxic or unaligned relationships, and how to break the cycles that keep you attracting the same kinds of partners. We also talk about nervous system healing, reclaiming your feminine energy, and how to find peace and even joy while being single. “Everything the body does is functional. There's a biological purpose to all of it. Our bodies are so much smarter than we are.” ~ Maura Eliza In This Episode: - Maura's background - How divorce impacts women's health - Patterns, partners & personal accountability - Past trauma affects partner selection - Parasitic energy and learning to flip the script on shame - Why women are initiating 70% of divorces - Masculine/feminine dynamics - Tools to shift your frequency and start healing quickly - Why being happy single is necessary before dating again - Common physical symptoms linked to relationship trauma - German New Medicine foundations - Healing ancestral trauma and breaking patterns - Rebuilding after relationship breakdown For more information, visit https://www.myersdetox.com Heavy Metals Quiz: Find out your toxicity score and receive a free video series on detoxification. So many of us long for transformation, but we feel discouraged and defeated by the issues that keep coming up... over and over again. We pray, read our Bibles, go to church, worship, and yet still feel stuck. Why is this? Often the tools we're given within the church leave us wondering if we're missing something or if something is wrong with us. Is it us? Is it them? Is it God? Why is lasting change so elusive? This is what author, speaker, and founder of Healing Care Ministries Terry Wardle and I talk about today. Beautifully blending stories from his own life with modern discoveries in neuroscience, Terry gently dismantles the common saying, “the past is in the past.” Demonstrating how past experiences impact the wiring of our brains in profound ways, Terry shows us why we need healing experiences with God's presence in our unresolved emotional wounds. The greatest obstacle to productivity isn't a lack of time, skill, or effort—it's the invisible weight of doubt, stress, and worry. We grind ourselves down, convinced that success comes from doing more, when in reality, true effectiveness begins with thinking better. In this episode of the Productivity Smarts Podcast, Gerald J. Leonard sits down with retired pediatrician Dr. Ron Schneebaum to uncover a truth that could transform the way you approach work, relationships, and life. Together, they explore the powerful connection between emotional health, happiness, and productivity. Dr. Schneebaum shares his transformative journey in medicine, where he adopted a holistic approach to patient care—treating the whole person, not just their symptoms. He reveals how compassion, love, and empathy are essential for not only healing but managing stress and thriving in all aspects of life. The conversation delves deeper into childhood trauma's lasting effects and the importance of addressing emotional wounds for personal growth. One of the episode's most impactful moments is Ron's morning reflection routine, a practice that grounds him and helps him face challenges with calm and purpose. They talk about the loved ones they spent time with, the people they helped, the memories they created, the things that they did that made a difference in other people's lives." — Gerald J. Leonard [21:18] "When you care more about the person than just about getting the job done, the job will get done, but the person will be engaged." — Ron [23:10] "One of the ways that I find is a great stress reliever, and this is available for everyone, is to set your alarm clock for about 10 or 15 minutes earlier than you need to get up and visualize your day ahead." — Ron [29:05] "Think of somebody in jazz, like the greats doing their solos, or Ella Fitzgerald doing her scat stuff where she ends up back where she started.
