In a proud moment for Indian cinema, Boong, a Manipuri-language film, has won the British Academy Film and Television Award (BAFTA) for Best Children's & Family Film. The film was directed by Lakshmipriya Devi, who has now become one of the first filmmakers from India's Northeast to win a BAFTA award.
