Please consider episode 236 to be our late Christmas present to you all! We are looking at two recent films from director Ryan Kruger, starting off with Fried Barry from 2020. This is such a trippy, insane and full-tilt experience that it might leave you scratching your head the first time you watch it. This isn't a bad thing since it only gets better each time you watch it! We follow that up with 2024's Street Trash, which is a sequel to the 1987 film of the same name. Though it has moments where it seems like it's trying to make a point about corporations and society, it's really just a really fun Troma-inspired movie with some great splattery effects, and some genuinely hilarious comedy. We highly recommend BOTH films! Please let us know what you thought of the show, and send us some suggestions for future episodes. You can email us at flickersfrom@yahoo.com or flickersfrom@gmail.com. Cough up a buck for your bottle of Tenafly Viper, because we're jumping into the dumpster for a deep dive into one of the wildest "melt-movie" cult horror flicks of all time, Street Trash (1987)! A full-tilt melting pot of chaos, gore, and dark humor that has shocked audiences for decades, we break down everything you need to know about this 80s splatter classic: the insane practical effects, its most shocking moments, and why it remains a staple of underground cinema.
We had the privilege of interviewing director Ryan Kruger about his latest film, Street Trash, which is currently available on digital platforms. This movie serves as a legacy sequel to the original film of the same name, released in 1987. During our conversation, we delved into the horror genre, the importance of originality, the concept of body horror, and our shared passion for filmmaking. It was an enlightening discussion that showcased our mutual enthusiasm for the art of filmmaking and the captivating experience of being on set. We highly recommend checking out this crazy wild film that masterfully excels in every aspect. It is a unique cinematic gem that will undoubtedly captivate audiences and fans of the genre.
