Chained (2012), Honeymoon (2014), and Relic (2020) With over 60 episodes so far in our podcast history, we realized that in all that we covered, we had never covered anything by a woman director. We knew we needed to change that. Going through the history of women directors, we realized that not only wasn't something new, but have been working in the industry since the beginning of film. And in the last two decades, have really started to show their stuff. So to help celebrate Women's History Month, we figured it was well past due that we tackle three films that were directed by women, once again, picking three random titles, but amazed to find just how similar they were to each other, not to mention being very effective in their craft, and storytelling. Movies mentioned in this episode: American Mary (2012), Army of Darkness (1992), The Babadook (2014), Chained (2012), Cockney vs Zombies (2012), Coffy (1973), Dead Hooker in a Trunk (2009), Fear Street: Part One 1994 (2021), Fear Street: Part Two 1978 (2021), Fear Street: Part Three 1666 (2021), Ganja and Hess (1973), Ginger Snaps (2000), Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988), Honeymoon (2014), Humanoids from the Deep (1980), In My Skin (2002), Inside (2007), Invasion of the Body Snatcher (1956), Kids (1995), Look What Happened to Rosemary's Baby (1976), Maniac (1980), The Monster and the Girl (1914), Near Dark (1987), The Nightingale (2018), Pet Sematary (1989), The Pit and the Pendulum (1913), The Relic (1997), Relic (2020), A Serbian Film (2010), The Silence of the Lambs (1991), Starry Eyes (2014), Slumber Party Massacre (1982), Street Trash (1987), The Taking of Deborah Logan (2014), Vampire (1915)

Chris & Kelsey are back on that bullshit, this time with two movies about witchy women that put curses on entire bloodlines and where multiple people need a good eye stabbin'. The Classic Film: Black Sunday [La maschera del demonio] (1960) "A vengeful witch and her fiendish servant return from the grave and begin a bloody campaign to possess the body of the witch's beautiful look-alike descendant, with only the girl's brother and a handsome doctor standing in her way” (IMDb.com). Mario Bava's official directorial debut may be beautifully designed and shot, but the story itself is a jumbled mess and just incredibly boring. Sorry. In this week's episode, we are bidding farewell to the "Fear Street" trilogy with the third entry into the series, "1666." Special topics for your consideration include: ye olde horny teens, not faring well in a small town...or an old timey town...or anywhere really, the "Hell House LLC" effect on the third film in a three-part franchise, unforgiving pants, more 90s music, and we're finally taking a stand against our Puritan listenership.  I am actually really sad to wrap up this series! We start celebrating Halloween a little early this year on What's New to Netflix Instant!? when we talk about all three of the new Fear Street movies streaming now on Netflix, but not before running down all of the new films and shows hitting Netflix in August 2021. Next, evil things are happening in the town of Shadyside when a masked murderer starts going after some teens in the first film of the series, Fear Street: Part One 1994. Then we go back in time to Camp Nightwing where the only survivor of the Shadyside killings tells her story of what really happened in Fear Street: Part Two 1978. And in the conclusion of the series, it's up to the teens to figure out the root of all the evil in their hometown when they uncover a shocking secret in Fear Street: Part Three 1666. All of this plus glitchy Skype noise, disappearing wives and/or girlfriends, tournament-style anime shows, a real-life Breaking Bad Jr., fear of the internet, fear of social media, and a hockey team that had an offer they could not refuse. got a suggestion for the show?: whatsnewtonetflixinstant@gmail.com

It's time to end this. All trilogies must inevitably end with a part three that hopefully serves as both a satisfying conclusion to the overall story as well as being a good standalone entry in it's own right. Fear Street's final part takes us all the way back to 1666 with the true origin of Sarah Fier as well as finally tie up the story we are still waiting to see conclude in 1994. We give our verdict on this final chapter and the trilogy overall in what is certainly one of the most interesting horror releases of 2021. Elsewhere this week; Stranger Things sadly won't be making this year. Mike Flanagan returns with Midnight Mass next month. A whole bunch of horror classics are coming to 4K for the first time. And ending this week we give our thoughts on American Horror Stories so far ahead of AHS: Double Feature coming just around the corner.Fear Street Part Three: 1666 is available on Netflix worldwide nowFollow us on Twitter @SHBPodEmail us: SuperHorrorBrosPodcast@gmail.comLeave us a voicemail on Skype; just search ‘Super Horror Bros'**Please take the time to review & rate us on iTunes or your podcast service of choice. From a good ol' 17th century hanging to the super-soaked ending in 1994, we pour over all the details from this final installment and give our review of the film (and the series as a whole) with our return guest from Parts 1 & 2, "Scary" Larry Dwyer of Horror News Network. We start with a look at the production details from the last film and give our non-spoiler review (1:17); Then, we get into Larry's Bad Parenting Update, Spoiler Section, & where we think the franchise is going next after the stinger that left more questions to us all (28:05). Julia Rehwald talks the "Fear Street" trilogy, her college experience in NYC, and shares an embarrassing audition story for one of the most popular Broadway musicals!About Julia Rehwald:Star on the rise Julia Rehwald was born and raised in California. Having always known she wanted to be a performer, Julia participated in plays in high school. Post-graduation, Julia packed her bags and made the cross-country move to NYC to study acting at Tisch. Once in New York, Julia signed with a commercial agent who secured her first audition for an IKEA commercial, which she booked. Julia continued the rigorous program at the Tisch School of Arts, including a semester abroad studying at the Royal Academy in London. There, Julia learned useful acting techniques and focused on Shakespeare. Julia returned to New York and graduated a semester early and immediately began auditioning for film and TV. One of the first films Julia booked was “Fear Street,” the film adaptation of R.L. Stine's YA horror series. Netflix brings the trilogy to the streaming platform in July in which Julia can be seen in two of the films: parts one and three. Each “Fear Street” film has a different perspective and story. First, Julia stars as Kate in “Fear Street Part One: 1994,” a story about love and friendship, and is a homage to the horror/adventure genre like “The Goonies.” The film centers on teens living in Shadyside, a bad part of town that is cursed by a witch. Julia's character of Kate is a confident overachiever, who is head cheerleader and valedictorian. Her main goal is to be successful enough to get out of the town. Her character really cares about her friends and doesn't care for people outside of her inner circle. “Fear Street Part Three: 1666,” is a story about love between sisters. Julia plays the role of Lizzy - the spunky fun one who always wants to get everyone together to party and is always down to have a good time. Lizzy is the only one in the group who has gone to visit the town outcast, who everyone thinks is the witch. Filming was an incredible and unforgettable experience and Julia made lifelong friendships with the other cast members. She felt a huge female presence on set and behind the camera and going to work each day was a joy. Filming was an incredible and unforgettable experience and Julia made lifelong friendships with the other cast members. She felt a huge female presence on set and behind the camera and going to work each day was a joy. When not on set, Julia enjoys hanging with friends, playing video games, watching movies past and present. Half Filipino, her family and their culture are very important to her and she looks forward to going back to visit some of her mom's family in the Philippines soon. Her parents still live in California with the family dogs Toby and Angel. Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/julibee_maria/Follow the show on social media!                 Instagram: https://instagram.com/thanksforcominginpodcast/                 Twitter: https://twitter.com/tfci_podcast                  Facebook: http://facebook.com/thanksforcominginpodcast/                    Theme Music by Andrew Skrabutenas
