This week, we are pulling an episode from the Patreon vault. Evan Hopper of the Quell and I do these types of episodes from time to time called Hollywood Babylon where to get into “interesting films”. Taxi Driver is an iconic film, a masterpiece by legendary filmmakers Martin Scorcese and Paul Schrader . Its influence can be seen all over the last several decades of film. Lurking in the shadows you will find God's Lonely Man, pretty much a sleazy rip off, a movie that most may dismiss as pure exploitation, but for some reason, we can't seem to stop thinking about this mid-90's study in loneliness and depravity. Intro: “Hollywood Babylon” – Evan Hopper Outro: “Faust” – Verberis

Subscribe to the PPM Patreon to access the entirety of Dossiers #4.A, #4.B, & #5. I would not be able to sustain this project without your support. Thank you so very much. patreon.com/ParaPowerMapping This installment especially revolves around Chuck D's recent appointment as Global Music Ambassador, the headlining act in a Jazz Ambassadors rebrand that has been jointly organized by Anthony Blinken's (a genocidaire directly connected to Ghislaine Maxwell via his stepdad Samuel Pisar who repped Robert Maxwell) State Department & Zion·ist Lyor Cohen's Youtube... The second major aspect of this "Dossier" would be our cracking open of the Diddler's leaked party album, which takes us down some dark alleys indeed. Providing further Zion·ist links via his attendance at Guy Oseary's Jews Who Rock party, we also happen upon two incredibly cursed images—the Diddler, Epstein affiliates Naomi Campbell & Kevin Spacey, & Heath Ledger all draped over each other at Paris Fashion Week 2001... An image that conjures a line of inquiry into the symptomatic similarities between Ledger & Kim Porter's respective unexpected deaths... And another, slightly earlier, revealing pic of Diddy's White Parties in the Hamptons, which Michael Rubin has since taken over (possibly to Diddler's chagrin) and which shows a younger version of #1 philanderer Leo DiCaprio hanging out w/ P Diddy, which maybe says something about Hollywood Babylon & Leo's propensity for dating very young models. And the third major component is a recurrent theme on the show in recent months, namely streaming's place within the pantheon of weaponized media forms... And there is perhaps no more of an illustrative case study for examining streaming's emergence and for examining its appeal to the powers that be & the capitalist elite who've enabled its youth-conquering rise than: Jason Itzler, aka Mr. Based. We dig into an anecdote that Mr. Based shared on one of his streams, describing how he was "sexually assaulted in the eyes" once by Diddy in the '90s at the Reebok Club in NY. The Diddler & Itzler occupying a particular social milieu in NY in the '90s and running into each other, leading to this uncomfortable encounter in Itzler's retelling, opens the door for us to examine Mr. Based's incredibly sus career prior to his streaming renaissance as a 50-something pervert who assaults women on camera... Namely the fact that, at one time, he operated one of the most successful cam girl companies and one of the biggest & most luxurious escort services in all of the Big Apple. We learn how Itzler may have even played a Diddy-esque informing role that led to former NY Gov. Spitzer's sex worker scandal downfall (a lady that Itzler had recruited)... And wouldn't you know it, we unpack how Jason just so happens to come from two incredibly powerful, mobbed-up Zion·ist families in both Philly & NYC, both of which connect him directly to Meyer Lansky & Golda Meir (who used to stay at his family home when he was a youngster). I layout how Itzler's Grandfather on his Sylk side in Philly was a pharmacy tycoon who served as Truman's point person on the "Israel question" and even purchased the "Exodus" steam packet ship that would play a crucial role in the colonizing of the Holy Land, as this American Zion·ist backed effort to illegally ferry Holocaust survivors to the British Mandate turned into a rallying cry for the Israeli ethnonationalist project as the men, women, & children became stranded in a near-interminable limbo of foreign ports & sea, refused entry. This and more we cover in the full version of today's ep. Check out SLANK on Twitter (@DabSquad_Slank) & his music at ffm.to/nationtime2 Props as always to Robert Voyvodic (@rvoy__) for the banging design. Welcome to another episode of the Bowie Book Club, where wild speculation and grasping for straws about Bowie's favorite books has reigned supreme since 2016. This time we read Hollywood Babylon a cruel and carnal compilation of old Hollywood tragedies written by Kenneth Anger, who apparantly shares our disdain for thorough research!

The next couple of episode are going to be "from the Patreon Vault" while I'm out on the road with Tombs. When I return, we will be ripping brand new material so hopefully you guys enjoy these. This week is an episode of Hollywood Babylon a series that I do with Evan Hopper of Quell. We deep dive into Event Horizon, one my all-time favorite science fiction / horror films.
Damien Chazelle's Babylon has been called a love letter to movies and a suicide note to Hollywood. For this wide-ranging discussion, I'm joined by filmmaker and programmer Sébastien Simon to discuss the film, the evolution of Chazelle's filmmaking, the wild history of the silent film days, Kenneth Anger, Hollywood's working class roots, the rise of institutionalized filmmaking with the emergence of sound, and much, more more.
Flashback Episode of The Dadlands Podcast with Jamie KalerThis Week's Guest: Ralph GarmanAs parents, we can't help but feel a bit out of our depth when it comes to discussing topics such as body parts, sexuality, and the reality of swinging with our children. This week, we're joined by our dear friend Ralph Garmin from The Ralph Report and Hollywood Babylon with Kevin Smith to help us tackle these tricky topics. Together, we shed light on the complexities of raising daughters in this new age, the potential gender biases they may inherit from us, and the seemingly innocent traditions, like Elf on the Shelf, that may perpetuate them.Remember that feeling of utter bewilderment when you had to explain anatomy to your child? We've all been there. In our conversation with Ralph, we dive into the necessity of these conversations and how, as parents, we can break the cycle of shame that has been passed down through generations. Shifting gears, we also discuss the contrast between the media's portrayal of swingers and the actual reality, and how married couples with kids might navigate this lifestyle. Finally, we raise urgent questions about modern-day parenting. How do we shield our kids from the dangers of online bullying and social media competitiveness? How can we help our children explore their sexuality in a safe and comfortable manner? And as technology advances at a breakneck pace, how do we prevent them from falling prey to sinister mind manipulation techniques? We don't have all the answers, but we hope our honest discussion will provide some valuable insights. So, whether you're a parent, a parent-to-be, or just curious about the subject, join us for an enlightening chat about the intricacies of fatherhood and parenting in the modern world.Grab yourself a drink, and join us!You can catch more of Ralph Garman on Instagram at:https://www.instagram.com/ralphgarman/You can catch The Parent's Lounge live every Tuesday Night at 10pm EST/7pm PST at:https://www.facebook.com/theparentsloungeJamie Kaler's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jamiekaler/Jason Gowin's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jasongowin/Kate Mulligan's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/katestmomever/Justin Rupple's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/therupple/The Parent's Lounge TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@theparentsloungeshow

The film is aptly titled Babylon, recalling Hollywood Babylon from occultist Kenneth Anger as well as themes I cover in my Esoteric Hollywood series. We will also discuss some similar films in this genre. As director Damien Chazelle's sprawling period epic Babylon hits UK cinemas, Ellen E Jones and Mark Kermode travel back to the Wild West of Hollywood's early years. Mark tries to sort fact from fiction with author Shawn Levy and critic Christina Newland, as they discuss Kenneth Anger's notorious gossip bible Hollywood Babylon, and explore some of the most progressive and scandalous movies being made in the 1920s and 30s. And Ellen talks to critic Pamela Hutchinson and historian Shirley Jennifer Lim about the trailblazing career of Chinese-American actress Anna May Wong. Also, director Todd Field tells us about the Hollywood history TV series he's been rewatching, in Viewing Notes. Producer: Jane Long A Prospect Street production for BBC Radio 4
This week the kids discuss Ken Russell's exceptional folk horror film, Lair of the White Worm. From wiki: "The Lair of the White Worm is a 1988 supernatural horror comedy film written and directed by Ken Russell, and starring Amanda Donohoe, Hugh Grant, Catherine Oxenberg, and Peter Capaldi. Loosely based on the 1911 Bram Stoker novel of the same name, it follows the residents in and around a rural English manor that are tormented by an ancient priestess after the skull of a serpent she worships is unearthed by an archaeologist." Mentions: The Last of Sheila, Murder on the Orient Express, Clue, Indianapolis and the KanKan theater, Babylon, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Kenneth Anger's Hollywood Babylon. Robert Winfree and Mark Radulich present their Babylon 2022 Movie Review! Babylon is a 2022 American epic period comedy-drama film written and directed by Damien Chazelle. The film features an ensemble cast that includes Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Diego Calva, Jean Smart, Jovan Adepo, and Li Jun Li. Its plot chronicles the rise and fall of multiple characters during Hollywood's transition from silent to sound films in the late 1920s. The film polarized critics, who praised its cinematography, score, and cast performances (particularly Robbie's), but criticized its screenplay, graphic content, and runtime. Despite the film's box office disappointment, it received five nominations for the 80th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and nine nominations at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards, including Best Picture. Welcome to the pilot episode of Hollywood Babylon, our “movie classics” sub-series that I am cohosting with my friend Evan Hopper of Quell. HB will live on our Patreon channel but this pilot is available to everyone to check out. This week, we dig deep into Francis Ford Coppola's Apocalypse Now from 1979. We go deep into the themes and give out interpretations of some of the possible subtexts that are lurking between the lines of the narrative. Enjoy! Nancy and Sarah launch by talking about a slavering press desperate for sensational stories — but we're not discussing today's climate, we're talking about the 1920s, when Roscoe “Fatty” Arbuckle became the doomed villain in a crime he never committed. We contemplate boobs (again), the greatness of Mariska Hargitay, the cruel online backlash against Amber Heard, and why we don't like gender tribalism (or tribalism of any kind). We heap admiration on Joan Didion, along with the journalist who recently wrote about her, Caitlyn Flanagan. One of the best-loved journalists of her generation, Flanagan also became a feminist bugaboo thanks to provocative stories on abortion, working moms, Woody Allen, topics she tackles with humor, moral precision, and tremendous style. Nancy and Sarah find themselves divided on the virtues of sentimentality, but they're both big on the drug that is falling in love. You asked (Ed: did they?), we deliver: First true-crime book under discussion will be The Snakehead: An Epic Tale of the Chinatown Underworld and the American Dream, by Patrick Radden Keefe. Welcome Back To The Hunt - lights, camera, recap podcast! In this week's episode (S2, Ep 19 - Hollywood Babylon), a vacation turns into a case for the brothers Winchester in arguably the most meta episode to date - including even nods to Jared Padelecki's time on the popular CW show Gilmore Girls. From PA Dean to fake-outs, this episode offers a lot of fun moments - and provides an interesting glimpse into Dean's psyche at this point in Season 2. Want to share your rewatch experience with us? I didn't even realize until i was entering the metadata for the mp3 file last night that this was EPISODE 40 of spngeorg! First off, I can't believe I've stuck with this project for 40 whole entire weeks, or that we're still in s2 of 15 of Supernatural. :'D Thanks to everyone who's been on this ride with me! On to the actual episode! I LOVE THIS ONE. Seriously, if I haven't made myself clear, it's episodes like this one that make Supernatural what it is. There's so many meta seeds planted here: the Author and the Story, and how the story of Supernatural is being told. The writers plucked fruits off episodes like this through the entire rest of the series, and it's one of the reasons I wanted to do this project in the first place. I only wish I hadn't been as under the weather as I was this week, or this episode would be three times as long. So I guess that's a good thing! (and yeah, at least I don't have the plague, and I'm starting to feel better now, which is a huge relief) Things referenced in this podcast (with apologies that there's actual homework this week because I couldn't brain very well for myself): The Superwiki Page for this episode (just go enjoy all the trivia and minutiae they crammed into this episode) My tag for this episode Casting sides for McG Casting sides for Tara that one post on my blog I mentioned in the podcast one more post that tidily sums up the wtf of using That Clip in all the 15.20 promos, because I think I failed to adequately convey the wtf in this podcast :'D --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/spngeorg/support
