Football rarely stops in Turkey, but when two earthquakes causes tens of thousands to die in the south-east region of the country early in 2023, even the passionately followed Super Lig top division is suspended. Hatayspor - a team from the league - loses its star player Christian Atsu to the rubble of a collapsed building. Its home city of Antakya is all but wiped from the map. A year later, football writer James Montague travels to his home nation of Turkey to tell the story of the indomitable club's improbable, and symbolic fight to survive in the aftermath of the disaster.

Mr. James Montague is the quintessential entrepreneur. A native of Southeast Raleigh, he came from humble beginnings, starting his career as a barber. After he was abruptly forced to vacate rental space at no fault of his own, he quickly realized that the secret sauce for sustainability and wealth creation was not in being a tenant, but in being an owner. This lesson planted a seed of curiosity and a strong desire that nudged him toward real estate development and ownership. Fast forward a few decades, Montague's climb to developer and landlord has placed him at the helm of F7 International Development and a flourishing real estate business. Never forgetting his roots and the communities that shaped him, he has an unwavering commitment to utilizing his resources and influence to create opportunities for underserved, marginalized groups. His real estate development projects include the following: Statue Side Business Plaza – Montague's very first shopping center that he developed and still owns Elders Peak – an affordable housing complex for seniors in RaleighFalcon's Point – a partnership with Saint Augustine's University's Community Development Cooperation Montague Plaza – a 15,000-square-foot entrepreneurial hub and shopping center in the heart of southeast Raleigh Durham Development Partners – a $470 million redevelopment initiative to reimagine downtown Durham 909 Rock Quarry Road – the future site of a major mixed-use development With a tireless work ethic, Montague is just getting started. He currently has plans to bring a Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) Center to Montague Plaza, among other endeavors. As he continues to touch people and places in more impactful ways, his commitment to set the bar high when it comes to doing well and doing good remains unchanged. Yet another English Premier League club has now been purchased by a group of Middle Eastern investors with deep ties to their country's government. In this case, the team is Newcastle United -- a club with a rich history, but plenty of recent frustration -- and a group of investors backed by the Saudi Arabian royal family. The deal was officially confirmed on Thursday. Today, James Montague, a contributing writer for The Athletic, discusses the polarizing purchase, its connection to the high-profile murder of a Saudi journalist, and his fiancee's quest to stop the sale from happening. In which the Mister and the Monsters join me in reviewing THE VAST OF NIGHT (2019), currently streaming on Amazon Prime. Directed by Andrew Patterson, with a script by James Montague and Craig W. Sanger, the film tells the story of Everett (Jake Horowitz) and Fay (Sierra McCormick), two young people in a very small New Mexico town in the 1950s. Fay, who works as a switchboard operator, stumbles on a strange audio frequency while attending to calls that repeats itself during Everett's radio show. She loops him in and together they try to piece what exactly the weird sound is. Along the way Billy and Mabel (Bruce Davis and Gail Cronauer) share their thoughts and experiences on what they believe to be behind the peculiar harmonies. The film's runtime is 1 hour and 31 minutes and is rated PG-13. Please note there are SPOILERS in this review. Who is moving into new offices amidst the uncertainty? And how are they thinking about their future office needs? Hear from a trio of JLL experts: James Montague, director, office leasing - Queensland; Kate Pilgrim, senior director, tenant representation - Victoria; and Anthony Walsh, design director - Australia.
