Esta semana en Escapa nos detenemos a analizar la victoria de Tadej Pogacar en la siempre espectacular Strade Bianche. Una victoria épica por su caída, que tampoco fue suficiente para doblegar al ciclista esloveno. Hablamos de la gran actuación de Pidcock o Roger Adrià en la carrera y hacemos previa de París Niza con Vingegaard como gran favorito y de Tirreno Adriático, donde Juan Ayuso llega a tope y es el gran favorito a la victoria. Les prochains championnats du monde sur route sont prévus fin septembre à Kigali, une grande première pour l'Afrique. Face aux meilleurs de la planète, quel rôle peuvent espérer jouer les coureurs et coureuses du continent ? De notre envoyé spécial à Kigali,Le classement final du 17ᵉ Tour du Rwanda laisse apparaître de belles promesses : 3 coureurs africains dans le top 10, un jeune Rwandais, Vainqueur Masengesho, est arrivé en 7ᵉ position. Mais aux Mondiaux, avec des Pogacar ou Vingegaard annoncés, la concurrence sera bien plus relevée. De plus, le parcours pourrait être un « mini Paris-Roubaix à l'africaine », selon David Louvet, l'entraîneur de l'équipe du Rwanda depuis 2023.Paris-Roubaix donc pour les pavés, la distance, 270 km, à cela s'ajoute l'altitude et de nombreuses ascensions. Un cocktail qui fait de ces Mondiaux les plus durs, peut-être, de l'Histoire. « Avoir un Africain à l'arrivée, c'est sûr que ça va être compliqué, juge David Louvet. Au niveau du classement, moi, je pense qu'on peut reprendre celui de l'année dernière et on aura les mêmes coureurs à l'arrivée. » C'est-à-dire Tadej Pogacar, loin devant et pas grand monde à l'arrivée.À Zurich, où s'est disputée la dernière édition, le parcours très vallonné avait eu raison des sprinteurs. Même Biniam Girmay, maillot vert du dernier Tour de France, avait jeté l'éponge en cours de route. Alors que fera l'Érythréen cette année ? Peut-il lui, le grand coureur que l'Afrique attendait, zapper les premiers Mondiaux sur le continent ? Tout est possible, disait-il à notre micro fin janvier. Aujourd'hui, l'hypothèse impasse semble la plus avancée. « On a discuté ensemble, la Fédération, le ministère des Sports et Biniam, explique Samson Solomon, sélectionneur de l'Érythrée. J'aimerais qu'il soit au départ de ces Mondiaux, le gouvernement, le peuple, tout le monde aimerait !  Mais c'est son choix. Cette course n'est pas adaptée à son profil, il n'a pas très envie de prendre le départ pour le principe, sans pouvoir terminer. Certaines courses seront plus ouvertes. « Au niveau Élite, ça va être difficile, analyse l'Ivoirien Yao Allah-Kouamé, nouveau président de la Confédération africaine de cyclisme (CAC). Maintenant, au niveau des jeunes, surtout au niveau des dames, il y a encore des possibilités. Donc le message que moi, je vais lancer à votre micro, c'est de faire en sorte que les fédérations africaines fassent en sorte qu'il y ait beaucoup de dames qui viennent à ces Mondiaux-là. Ce sont nos Mondiaux. Ce n'est pas une affaire du Rwanda, c'est une affaire de toute l'Afrique. Il faut que l'Afrique soit présente. »Le président de la CAC dit espérer au moins 40 Fédérations africaines en septembre pour des chances de médaille minimes. Reste le plus important peut-être, l'élan.L'héritage que ces Mondiaux doivent laisser : un programme de formation supervisé par l'Union cycliste internationale vient déjà d'être inauguré au Rwanda. Avant de les voir s'affronter d'homme à homme sur les mêmes routes il faudra prendre son mal en patience et compter les jours qui nous séparent du départ du Dauphiné le 8 juin prochain. En attendant les deux monstres du Tour de France, ceux qui se partagent depuis 5 saisons les bouquets sur la grande boucle ont entamé la semaine dernière leur duel à distance. L'un sur le Tour de l'UAE qu'il a évidemment remporté ce dimanche sans grande adversité, l'autre sur le Tour d'Algarve qu'il a mis plus de temps à dompter mais où il a fini par s'imposer lui aussi à l'issue du contre la montre. Bref pour leur rentrée Pogacar et Vingegaard n'ont pas déçu, ils restent bien les deux grands bonshommes des courses par étape. Aujourd'hui dans Grand Plateau on va s'amuser au petit jeu des comparatifs à distance. Qui vous semble le plus affuté en ce début de saison ? It's been far too long. GTCC members the world over have been writing in to ask: when will he be back? Well, he's back. Yes, Ambassador De Pluski is back on the pod - and he's back in action with G. The Volta ao Algarve kicks off this week and the duo will be tackling the climbs of southern Portugal against the likes of Roglic, Vingegaard and Wout van Aert. It should be a cracker. With De Pluski back on the pod, we thought we'd take the opportunity to pick his brain and hold our first GTCC preview of the season. Can Pog win San Remo? Will he ride Roubaix? Entrevistamos a Ian Barrufet y a su padre, David Barrufet, jugador y mánager de la selección española de balonmano, que arranca su andadura en el Mundial este jueves. Además, repasamos la última hora del Dakar, del Open de Australia y de los planes de Vingegaard para la Vuelta y el Tour. 

Comienzo con el post partido de Copa del Rey entre Valencia y Ourense, en el que hablaremos con uno de los protagonistas del encuentro, tras ello se analizará el problema que ha sufrido Kike Salas, por su supuesta implicación en apuestas ilegales. Después de eso comienza 'El Sanedrín' donde debaten sobre la actualidad que acontece al FC Barcelona, en cuanto al 'tema Olmo' y el posible traspaso de Ronald Araujo. Se sigue con una entrevista a Ian y David Barrufet, jugador y manager de la selección española de balonmano respectivamente, además de ser padre e hijo, antes de su andadura del Mundial. Finalmente se hace un repaso del Dakar, el Open de Australia y los planes de Vingegaard para La Vuelta y el Tour.

Efterfølgende var han indlagt i 12 dage med blandt andet en punkteret lunge og syv brækkede ribben. Derfor var det langt fra selvskrevet, at han få måneder senere skulle stille til start i verdens største cykelløb.
