La music story du jour c'est celle de la relève française… Déjà là depuis quelques temps mais en réalité tout nouveau, le duo Tonique & Man a fait cette année son apparition, emmené notamment par Jean Tonique artiste électro qui a pourtant quelques heures de vol. Son nouveau projet avec Man donc a des saveurs d'Italie – c'est du moins en mixant dans une pizzeria qu'il s'est fait connaitre. Pour le reste et musicalement, c'est frais et nonchalant, à l'image de leur single « Never Get Old »

Tonique & Man vous ont préparé un mix avec des musiques qu'ils chérissent. Ils ont aussi sorti leur premier single “Running After Time”, dont le clip est un hommage à… la pizza.Mi Man et Jean Tonique, amis qui travaillaient déjà dans la musique, ont décidé de s'allier et de former le duo Tonique & Man. Un duo qui se concentre sur la fusion du funk et du disco avec des paroles comiques et une dose de nostalgie des années 1970-1980 dans leur esthétique.À suivre, leur premier album “Opening Soon” prévu cette année sur Tonique Records / Idole.Jean Tonique est producteur et multi-instrumentiste, il fait de la musique teintée de disco et de funk, qui tire parfois vers la house. Il a déjà plusieurs albums à son actif et joue dans le monde entier. Mi Man est un compositeur de musique de film formé entre New-York, Londres et Paris. So here is number 2 in my monthly selftitled mix series!After setting it off with Neo Soul in my previous mix I felt it was only right to continue with a Funk (and some Disco ish?) type mix. Ofcourse I had to put in some Zapp and Kleeer to rep the originators of my favorite Funk sound. Also an overlooked oldie by Daft Punk in there I still like and a track by Will I Am you might recognize from another track. Also a very early Midas Hutch original that I luckily downloaded years and years ago! Mixed on my XDJ RX-1 again!S/O to Zoë Love Smith helping me design for the cover again ♥️

Il y a un mois, le Tropical, pardon le Tropicana Club (choisissez le nom que vous préférez), s'illustrait avec une innovation radiophonique : mélanger le bingo pour les vieux avec une émission musicale. Pour cela, prenez un George, un Andy et un Xavier. Chacun des participants vient avec des titres qui sont numérotés et mélangés dans un grand sac. Bien sûr, il vous faut ensuite un dé 20 faces évidemment et pour la suite... laissez le hasard faire. L'émission était en direct et sans aucun trucage puisque seules des mains innocentes ont pu tirer le dé, le tout sans contrôle d'huissier. En résulte une émission cocasse avec un coup du destin pour les Electric Boys. Néanmoins, vous pourrez constater que le hasard fait souvent bien les choses.
