As a part of the event, CAMW! is partnering to host the Job and Community Resource Fair, a job fair that will feature employers from a variety of industries in our region and a showcase of resources available through local organizations. AJ Styles was the backbone of TNA Wrestling. Without him in the early days, Total Nonstop Action may not have been as popular as it was. AJ Styles was the one constant in the company, and you knew if he was on the card you would get a phenomenal match! When his contract expired at the end of 2013, it was time to renegotiate. All he wanted to stay in the company was the same amount of money he was getting paid. TNA Management couldn't afford that AJ Styles left the company. However, AJ Styles, working on a handshake deal, would work until the January 9th, 2014 episode of Impact Wrestling. At this time, AJ Styles was TNA World Champion, however, Magnus was also TNA World Champion by winning a tournament. On this episode, the 2 champions go head to head to crown one Undisputed TNA World Champion. AJ Styles and Dixie Carter agreed that that match would be a NO Disqualification Match. AJ knew that Dixie and her group “Dixieland” would try to cost AJ the belt and get him out of the company. Dixie Carter also knew that AJ had friends in the company, so she set up a bunch of backstage attacks and different matches to get rid of all of AJ'S friends before the main event. This would be AJ Styles final match in TNA Wrestling! Over the next few months, Dean's Chat will be providing bonus episodes interviewing students from the Schools and Colleges of Podiatric Medicine. This week we are joined by three students from Western University of Health Sciences – College of Podiatric Medicine (WUCPM), Denise Peraza-Martinez, Brian Wong, and Belinda Jimenez. Denise is representing the Class of 2024, and Brian and Belinda are both representing the Class of 2025. All represent the American Podiatric Medical Students Association (APMSA) within WUCPM. Join our discussions each week on the podiatric journey our students are embarking on at the various schools. Students share their path to discovering podiatric medicine, to applying to what is now eleven schools and colleges of podiatric medicine, to the first and second year of didactics, Boards Part 1 and 2, and clinical experiences and opportunities. We do some professor shout-outs and discuss student services, extracurricular activities, and student life at each school. Dr. Jeffrey Jensen interviews three students from the Western University of Health Sciences – College of Podiatric Medicine, and the students discuss their educational experiences and shed light on what podiatric medicine entails. The students also highlight the various specializations within podiatric medicine, such as sports medicine, surgery, biomechanics, and diabetic foot care. Tune in to gain insight into the educational pathway to becoming a podiatric physician. In this episode, the students stress the significance of seeking help and utilizing tutoring and support services. Round-table discussion featuring the Registry Report Radio hosts on Georgia's Supreme Court decision on lifetime GPS monitoring for SOs. Hosts: Michael McKay, Dwayne Daughtry, and Elizabeth Christensen The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday struck down a law requiring dangerous sexual predators who have completed their sentences to wear electronic monitors for the rest of their lives. The requirement is “patently unreasonable” and violates the Fourth Amendment’s protection against unreasonable searches and seizures, Chief Justice Harold Melton wrote for a unanimous court. The court ruled in favor of Joseph Park who was convicted in 2003 in Douglas County of child molestation and sexual exploitation of a minor. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison. Shortly before his release from incarceration, the Sex Offender Registration Review Board classified Park as a “sexually dangerous predator” and required him to wear an electronic monitor linked to a GPS system for the rest of his life. In his appeal, Park contended such a requirement authorized an unconstitutional, warrantless search because it allowed him to be monitored at all times. The high court agreed. Collecting information about an individual 24 hours a day and seven days a week “constitutes a significant intrusion upon the privacy of the individual being monitored,” Melton wrote. The monitoring also can be used to collect evidence of potential criminal wrongdoing that can later be used against that individual, the opinion said. For those reasons, “we must conclude that individuals who have completed their sentences do not have a diminished expectation of privacy that would render their search by a GPS monitoring device reasonable,” Melton wrote.
