The Chicago Marathon is a couple of weeks early as the gang powers through the longest episode in pod history. We start by following Jay Monahan's Citation X escapades from Montana to St. Lucia. Then OTP gives us a preview of what to expect at LIV Chicago, including the musical stylings of St. Lucia. desertduffer introduces a new LLG game show -- The Ratings Game (44:40). Eventually, OTP gets a second wind and delivers a very loud love letter to the PGA Tour's Jimmy Walker, leaving JScore and our listeners thoroughly confused about the meaning of Haters and Losers of the week (1:17). There's also a litigation update and a giveaway reminder in there somewhere, too.

Show Notes: edmprod.com/132 Download & Stream 'Bruk It Down': http://bit.ly/BrukItDown-DL-Stream Sign up for Dharma Studio: https://www.dharmaworldwide.com/ This week, KSHMR sat down to chat on the EDMProdcast. If you've been producing dance music for more than 30 seconds, you're surely familiar with him, whether it's from his classic dance tracks like Secrets or My Best Life, his chart topping sample packs, his production tutorials, and most recently his very own plugin KSHMR Essentials. We start off with KSHMR's background, looking at how he built his production and songwriting skills by himself early on. We dive into how he fell into producing for rappers and singers, and how this led to him creating The Cataracts project, widely known for their hit single ‘Like A G6'. We spend a while discussing KSHMR's transition into EDM, and how he took everything he learned in the pop world and put it into his ideal artist project. KSHMR explains the keys to his early success with this project, and what separated him from other producers that were making the switch to EDM. On the production side, we discuss how to balance the technical and emotional aspects of production. KSHMR mentions how producing EDM has hurt his ability to write music on an emotional level, because he, like so many producers, is overly concerned with the technical aspects of production. We talk about how to deal with this issue, focusing on how he crafts emotive and expressive tracks within the dance music sphere. Later on, we talk about his new education platform Dharma Studio, as well as his brand new plugin KSHMR Essentials. We discuss why he loves teaching music production, and the lesson he's learned helping out thousands of producers. KSHMR also lists off his favorite uncommon 3rd party plugins, a few of which you've likely never heard of but will blow you away. This week, we're talking about the nerve-wracking and devastating 1993 film, Alive, with friend and cannibalism expert, Jorge Varon Chisi (@grilled_chisi)! With the help of our wonderful expert, we compare the real facts of the crash and survival of the Uruguayan rugby team to the portrayal in the film. And, as always, Harper gets off topic several times and Jonathan shares a hawk fact or two. We are also visited by special executive producer, Lauren Bresnahan, in the studio who reminds us of the time Jesse McCartney sang "Like A G6."
The G7 summit is underway in Quebec. Christopher Sands, senior research professor and director of Canadian studies at Johns Hopkins University joins Rob to share some thoughts.

This week on the SyrupCast, Igor Bonifacic, Patrick O'Rourke, Rose Behar, and Ian Hardy talk about the LG G6 and Toronto City Council's plea to the CRTC for unlimited data. This week marks the Canadian launch of LG's newest flagship phone, the G6. Following the recent release of Samsung's Galaxy S8, the SyrupCast crew is asking if this is a swing and a miss for LG? Does a $100 price difference make any difference to someone in the market for a new high-end smart phone? It is no secret that Canadian's pay exorbitant amounts for cell phone plans in comparison to other countries, and MobileSyrup has gone into great detail covering this issue many times in the past. This week, Toronto's City Council has jumped on the bandwagon by introducing a motion asking the CRTC to pursue getting all major Canadian carriers to offer reasonably priced unlimited data plans. The motion passed, but the SyrupCast team is skeptical of the true intent behind the discussion and whether it will actually lead to any change. Tune in to hear the SyrupCast team's thoughts and jump in the comments to let us know what you think of this week's episode. These songs, characterized by their irresistible beats and unique collaborations, became anthems for dance floors worldwide. Shakira, known for her distinctive blend of Latin and pop music, teamed up with British rapper Dizzee Rascal to deliver "Loca" (Freemasons Mixshow). The Freemasons, a production duo renowned for their dance remixes, added their signature touch to the track, contributing to its position among the top dance songs of 2010. Far East Movement's "Like A G6" (Cahill Mixshow) was another standout. The Los Angeles-based group, combined with the features from Cataracs & Dev and the remix skills of Cahill, resulted in a catchy electro-pop tune that dominated both the airwaves and the club scene. The top dance songs of 2010 also included hits from established pop icons such as Usher and Katy Perry. Usher's "DJ Got Us Fallin ' In Love" (Jump Smokers Extended Mix) and "OMG" (Riva Starr Remix) were undeniable club anthems. Katy Perry's collaboration with Snoop Dogg on "California Gurls" (Liam Keegan Remix) offered a summery vibe that was a perfect fit for dance floors. P!nk's "Raise Your Glass" (Funk3d Remix) brought a rock-infused edge to the dance scene, while Taio Cruz's "Dynamite" (Stonebridge Club Remix) offered a blend of synth-pop and dance that resonated with listeners. Rihanna's "Hard" (Jody den Broeder Club Mix) demonstrated her versatility as an artist, and the remix by Jody den Broeder transformed it into an electrifying dance track. Other notable entries among the top dance songs of 2010 included Enrique Iglesias and Pitbull's Latin-infused "I Like It" (Cahill Club Mix), and Flo Rida's collaboration with David Guetta on "Club Can't Handle Me" (Fuck Me I'm Famous Remix). These tracks blended elements of pop, hip-hop, and dance to create engaging, high-energy tunes. The top dance songs of 2010 also showcased several unexpected dance hits. Bruno Mars, better known for his soulful pop melodies, had his track "Just The Way You Are" (Funk3d Remix) transformed into a dance anthem by Funk3d. Similarly, Cee Lo Green's "Fuck You" (Stonemasons Remix) saw the soulful original reworked into a dance-friendly version that resonated with club-goers. Finally, the top dance songs of 2010 were also marked by an impressive range of international influences. Edward Maya's "Stereo Love" (Molella Remix), with its iconic accordion riff and Vika Jigulina's haunting vocals, introduced a unique blend of Romanian folk music and modern dance...
