The 8am hour of Tuesday's Mac & Cube saw Tim Stephens, from the Diehard Sports Network, tells McElroy & Cubelic why it's not really about the "haves" and "have nots", how accelerated is the conversation about a G6 playoff, and why the Cruz-Cantwell is going to fail; then, the guys point out the real reasons behind a potential split of Power 4 & Group of 6; later, Craig Haubert, national recruiting coordinator for ESPN, tells McElroy & Cubelic why 1st year coaches are having success in the SEC, how great Auburn's class is shaping up, and whether or not Alabama fans should be panicking over their recruiting class; and finally, is playing in the NFL off the street possible? Lots of good talk on Good Talk this week, starting with Chantal and Bruce on Mark Carney's trip to Paris today and his talks with Emmanuel Macron. France is hosting the G7 next week, but for many, it's really a G6 with Donald Trump's America, no friend of the group. That and CUSMA and social media bans top the discussion agenda today. The transfer portal has changed the dynamics of college football. Wide receiver positions are particularly challenging to evaluate this year. CFF viability is different from Debbie viability for players. Teams need to assess their rosters for potential trades before the supplemental draft. Quarterback depth is strong this year, but wide receiver depth is lacking. CFF teams can still compete even with weaker rosters if managed well. Identifying breakout players is crucial for success in CFF. Supplemental drafts can provide valuable assets for rebuilding teams. It's important to balance CFF and Debbie assets in roster management. Understanding league rules can impact roster strategies. Stay healthy to maximize player potential. Drew Mestamaker may be overrated this offseason. Darien Mensah is a more reliable asset than Mestamaker. Wide receiver depth is crucial for team success. Focus on rebuilding running back positions in drafts. Evaluate current rosters for potential trades. G6 running backs can provide value in supplemental drafts. Player hype can often be misleading. Assessing player performance against competition is key. Roster management is essential for long-term success. Felix Sharpie is new to the game, indicating a rebuilding phase. Rebuilding a team requires careful evaluation of key players. Supplemental drafts are crucial for acquiring talent. Wide receiver positions are challenging to fill effectively. Active trading can help teams stay competitive throughout the season. Marcellus Hawkins is a potential breakout player for Virginia Tech. Carter Vargas is a strong candidate for RB1 at Cal. Phil Steele's depth charts provide valuable insights for roster decisions. Understanding player potential is key to successful drafting. Teams must adapt to injuries and off-field issues affecting players. 00:00 "We're going to be reviewing some C2C teams" 04:48 "Is this feel like a down year for CFF purposes?" 06:03 "This is a little bit of a reset year" 09:10 "The hardest position to nail is wide receiver" 21:29 "This team is ready to go" 33:25 "There's some holes in question marks" 36:15 "The running backs really are the star of the show" 36:48 "You just got to stay healthy." 40:28 "I think the same for Messamaker." 44:28 "You need to go hit your supplemental hard." 61:03 "Give me some feedback, guys." 61:10 "You can tell he's new to the game." 62:37 "You're in what I would consider a full rebuild." 63:27 "There's some players to work with here." 65:13 "Carter Vargas could take over as RB1." 69:31 "Wide receivers are always tough to replace." 75:49 "Marcellus Hawkins is projected to be the RB one." ESPN's Bill Connelly joins Alex and Richard to talk about his returning production rankings for the 2026 college football season. The power leagues are retaining more of last year's snaps and yards, while the G6 is increasingly forced into annual rebuilds. Bill explains how the formula for returning talent has evolved, how the transfer portal has made it messy, and which 2026 teams look interesting based on who's coming back. In this episode:* 0:55: Exactly how dire is the returning production picture in the Group of 6?* 4:10: How the returning-production formula has changed in the portal era, from FCS/FBS translation to incoming-transfer weight.* 12:58: Why the weights look the way they do, including offensive line snaps, pass catchers, quarterbacks, and defensive stickiness.* 15:02: What we can learn from last year's big returning production flop, the No. 1-ranked (sort of) Clemson Tigers* 20:18: The new grind of roster evaluation, why G6 previews can become transfer lists, and 2026 FAU as a returning production test case.* 27:13: AI in roster work and recruiting operations, and why Bill still prefers doing his own spreadsheeting* 35:55: 2026 case studies near the top: Notre Dame, Maryland, South Carolina, and Texas.* 49:10: Rebuilds at Tulane, North Texas, and James Madison, a packed American race, and … a little curiosity at Ohio State?Producer: Anthony VitoThank you to our partners!* Shop at Homefield* Learn more about Nokian Tyres This is a public episode. The idea of "AD Film Study" is to watch a handful of athletic director press conferences and break them down in a way that I think can help future ADs in preparing for their introductory press conference, whether that be in their words or understanding the settings of the press conferences. At the end I offer a list of final thoughts and tips based on what I observed.I watched Bryan Blair (Syracuse), Roger Denny (Oklahoma), Kevin White (Charlotte) and Ryan Berryman (New Mexico) press conferences. Each situation was different when you think about it. Blair was the G6 sitting AD that is now joining the P4. Most Syracuse fans expected it to be someone with ties to the university and Blair had to introduce himself to the fan base. Denny was a surprise hire at Oklahoma coming from Illinois when everyone thought Oklahoma would go industry outsider or at least hire a sitting AD. Kevin White was the P4 deputy from Clemson, likely seen as an aspirational peer school to Charlotte from an athletic department perspective, and had more of a traditional pathway to the AD chair. Ryan Berryman was the interim that everyone seemed to know would be the permanent AD despite his young age.And if you want to support the HEA Road Trip I'm planning, please consider donating 5, 10 or 20 bucks via my HEA Stripe accountIf you prefer reading, I wrote a very long article of my notes for each of these press conferences on the HEA website0:00 Introduction3:38 Bryan Blair - Syracuse10:45 Explaining the HEA Road Trip11:45 Roger Denny - Oklahoma25:00 Custom HEA Briefings + Career Mapping Conversations27:30 Kevin White - Charlotte41:20 Ryan Berryman - New Mexico52:25 Final Thoughts & TipsHEA is presented by PILYTIX, an AI tech company for higher education institutions and sports organizations. The Afeela 1, priced from $89,900 with deliveries planned for late 2026, has been cancelled alongside a second model targeting 2028, with California reservation holders receiving full refunds.MG TEASES SOLIDCORE BATTERYMG Motor has opened a third European engineering centre in Frankfurt and unveiled SolidCore, a semi-solid-state battery cell using a manganese-based cathode, semi-solid electrolyte shield, and graphite anode — claiming improvements in safety, range, durability and cold-weather performance without providing specific figures. MG claims to be the first automaker to mass-produce a semi-solid-state battery, though the distinction from a similar cell already in China-market MG4s since December 2025 remains unclear; SolidCore is expected in European EVs by end of 2026.EV CAR/VAN CONVERSIONS FROM RENAULT AND VOLVORenault has revealed an electric Twingo van conversion developed for EDF, doubling load capacity from 360 to 797 litres via a removable rear seat, mesh bulkhead, and cargo cage — though the concept remains unlikely to reach UK sale. Volvo UK is already in market with the EX30 Cargo, a fleet-only compact van offering 1,000 litres of capacity, 390kg payload, and a top dual-motor variant producing 423bhp with a 0–62mph time of 3.6 seconds.AUSTRALIAN FUEL SHORTAGES SPREAD WITHOUT SUPPLY LOSSPanic buying — not supply disruption — has left over 500 petrol stations across Australia short of at least one fuel grade, with New South Wales worst affected at 289 sites, including 164 diesel-dry locations pushing diesel prices above $3 per litre. Authorities have not declared a national fuel emergency or introduced rationing, with Victoria's Energy Minister confirming the strain is entirely driven by consumer behaviour rather than any import disruption.VAUXHALL ASTRA FACELIFT STARTS AT £29,995The facelifted Vauxhall Astra starts at £29,995 across mild hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and full EV variants in both hatchback and Sports Tourer estate, with the PHEV's battery growing from 12.4kWh to 17.2kWh for 52 miles of official electric range and a BiK rate of 10% — undercutting the Golf eHybrid by £6,490. The Astra Electric uses a 154bhp motor with 55.4kWh usable battery, 281 miles of quoted range, and 100kW DC charging covering 20–80% in around 30 minutes.UK PLEDGES £1 BILLION FOR FLEET ELECTRIFICATIONThe UK government has committed £1 billion to commercial fleet electrification, with the Zero Emissions Truck and Van scheme covering up to 40% of purchase costs — reaching £81,000 for the heaviest electric trucks and £5,000 for vans, though reduced from a previous maximum of £120,000 for trucks over 26 tonnes. A separate £170 million uplift to the Depot Charging Scheme allows businesses to reclaim up to 70% of depot charging installation costs, capped at £1 million per application.SK SIGNET STARTS TEXAS BUILD OF 400-KW CHARGERSK Signet has begun production of a 400-kW all-in-one DC fast charger at its Texas facility, using silicon carbide electronics to achieve 96.5% conversion efficiency while reducing its physical footprint by up to 54% versus its predecessor. A modular design offers 320–400kW output tiers, supports one to four CCS1/NACS ports delivering a stable 150–250kW per vehicle simultaneously, and features a 32-inch outdoor touchscreen with Plug & Charge, credit card, and RFID payment support.ROLLS-ROYCE OPENS ELECTRIC COACHBUILD PROGRAMMERolls-Royce has launched the Coachbuild Collection, a new electric coachbuilding programme for ultra-high-net-worth clients, with every vehicle fully road-legal and homologated — unlike predecessors Sweptail, Boatail, and Droptail. The first model will be fully electric, with powertrain, design, and interior details expected later in 2026, supported by a Private Office Network across Dubai, Seoul, Shanghai, New York, and Goodwood.FERRARI TUNES LUCE FOR FEEL, NOT FIGURESFerrari says its first fully electric car, the Luce, will prioritise driver feel over headline performance figures, with CEO Benedetto Vigna consulting NASA and medical centres to identify the point at which EV acceleration becomes neurologically disturbing. Ferrari identified five distinct generators of driving thrills and is focusing on issues such as battery placement to address the mismatch between visual and vestibular cues in cornering caused by heavy EV battery packs.XPENG AUSTRALIA DISTRIBUTOR ENTERS ADMINISTRATIONXPeng's sole Australian distributor, Sydney-based TrueEV, has entered external administration after a lender stepped in over unmet financing arrangements, with insolvency specialists now managing and selling close to 200 G6 vehicles across Melbourne, Brisbane, Wollongong, and Fremantle. A simultaneous legal dispute between TrueEV and XPeng has escalated to court action, leaving the brand's planned 2026 Australian expansion — including the X9 and G9 models — in serious doubt with no clarity offered to existing customers.

United Methodist People Podcast Show NotesOn this illuminating episode of The United Methodist People Podcast, Dr. Brad Miller welcomes longtime friend, author, pastor, and leadership coach Roger Ross to discuss the biggest challenges and opportunities facing today's United Methodist churches. Centered around Ross's latest book, “Kinda Christian: From Curious to Serious About Jesus,” the conversation explores how churches and individuals can move beyond complacency to cultivate authentic discipleship, transformational community, and purpose-driven faith.Episode SummaryThe episode kicks off with Dr. Brad Miller introducing Roger Ross, whose decades of ministry and church leadership have inspired innovative approaches to spiritual growth and coaching. They revisit their joint history as church planters, emphasizing the importance of humility in leadership—an ethos behind Ross's new venture, The Humility Group, created to support pastors and faith-based leaders.Ross shares the origin story of “Kinda Christian,” highlighting his realization that many church newcomers crave clarity about what being a disciple truly entails. After wrestling with his leadership team, Ross's church developed the G6 process, outlining six essential marks of discipleship: glory, grace, group, growth, giftedness, and generosity. Stories like Chantel's—whose life was profoundly changed by this process—illustrate the transformative power of intentional discipling. The conversation delves into the broader issues facing churches, such as lack of clarity and processes for making disciples. Ross argues that the mission to “make disciples” often falters when churches cannot define what a disciple actually is or lack a roadmap to help people become one. He introduces three core callings to help believers and churches get “unstuck”: love God, launch community, and unleash compassion.Ross and Miller discuss practical metaphors—lake churches (static, attractional) versus river churches (dynamic, sending)—encouraging leaders to build churches that nurture, equip, and send disciples into the world. Authentic community, Ross asserts, is the antidote to today's epidemic of loneliness and meaninglessness; it requires relationships that are loving, truthful, and deep, not merely surface-level fellowship. The episode also touches on practical spiritual disciplines, like engaging with scripture regularly, and the statistical evidence of its impact. Ross explains that just four times of meaningful Bible engagement a week can significantly reduce loneliness and increase purpose. Finally, Ross shares how “Kinda Christian” is being adopted by United Methodist bishops and conferences as a resource to help local churches define discipleship and create processes for cultivating it. On a personal note, Ross urges listeners to start small—pick one spiritual discipline, such as solitude or focused prayer, and commit to it daily—as the first step toward becoming a fully devoted follower of Jesus.Three Takeaway Points:Clarity on Discipleship Is Critical for Church Health: Without a clear, actionable definition of what it means to be a disciple and how to cultivate one, churches will struggle to fulfill their mission and fail to engage seekers meaningfully.Churches Must Move from Lake to River Models: The future of vibrant ministry lies in churches that not only attract but equip and send disciples to impact their communities, flowing outward rather than hoarding resources.Deep Community and Small Steps Lead to Transformation: Combating loneliness and...

SEC and Big Ten lock horns over playoff expansion, as college football's powerhouses argue: Should it be 16 or a game-changing 24 teams? Brian Smith breaks down the high-stakes debate fueling the headlines, exploring the Big Ten's pitch for 23 at-large bids plus a G6 spot, and the SEC's push for a tighter 16-team format. Will eliminating conference championship games and adding more home playoff matchups create a better postseason, or threaten the regular season's meaning?Key topics include the impact of expanded playoffs on marquee out-of-conference clashes like Georgia vs. Clemson and Notre Dame vs. Michigan, whether three- and four-loss teams should be contenders, and how playoff expansion may affect scheduling, TV deals, and fan expectations. With powerhouse programs like Alabama, Texas, Ohio State, and Oregon in the mix, Brian Smith asks: Will more spots level the playing field, or just cement the dominance of college football's elite?Everydayer ClubIf you never miss an episode, it's time to make it official. Reppin: James Roh on The Rose Documentary, Far East Movement's Historic Breakthrough & The Rose's Rise What does it take to break barriers, top the charts, and still stay rooted in community? In this episode of Reppin, I sit down with James Roh — artist, manager, and founder — to unpack the making of the The Rose Documentary and the remarkable rise of The Rose, a band that has built a fiercely loyal global fanbase through raw honesty, independence, and a commitment to authenticity. We trace the spark that led to the film — from a studio moment inspired by Michelle Yeoh to a key connection with Janet Yang — and why their story resonated so strongly when I saw it premiere at Tribeca Festival. The documentary captures a band navigating military service, label transitions, and creative rebirth while holding tight to friendship and mental health. James also dives deep into Far East Movement's groundbreaking legacy as the first Asian American group to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with Like a G6. We talk about their decade-long grind, global touring, major collaborations, and the cultural impact of breaking into a space where Asian American artists were rarely seen — along with the backlash and pressure that came with that visibility. Their later album Identity marked a creative turning point, reconnecting the group to culture and community across Asia. You'll hear how James channels those hard-earned lessons into active community building — using his experience to help boost The Rose and create sustainable paths for other artists. Through Transparent Arts, and collaborations with Wong Fu Productions and Gold House, he's focused on building an ecosystem where Asian and Asian American creatives can thrive long term — and why that mission fuels everything he does. This episode is about chart-topping milestones, creative resilience, and the power of lifting others as you rise. If you care about music, identity, and building something bigger than yourself, this conversation is for you. In This Episode: The story behind The Rose documentary and the band's global rise Far East Movement's historic No. 1 hit and cultural impact The realities of visibility, backlash, and redefining success How James uses his journey to strengthen community and boost The Rose Building a lasting Asian American creative ecosystem LEARN MORE ABOUT THE DOCUMENTARY: The Rose: Come Back To Me https://www.therosedoc.com/

We thought Week 6 would be quiet. We were wrong. Dead wrong. Three top 15 teams fell to unranked opponents in what might be the most chaotic Saturday of the season. We dive deep into Penn State's shocking 42-37 loss to UCLA—a team that fired its coach just days earlier. The loss raises serious questions about James Franklin's future despite his $50+ million buyout. Can this relationship be salvaged? We also break down Florida's inspired 29-21 upset of Texas in The Swamp, where the Gators' defense sacked Arch Manning six times and exposed flaws in the Longhorns' offensive line. Plus, Miami continues to look like a legitimate contender with a dominant road win over Florida State, powered by freshman sensation Malachi Toney and an elite defensive front. Beyond the headline upsets, we analyze Alabama's methodical win over Vanderbilt, Cincinnati's offensive explosion against Iowa State, Bryce Underwood's career day against Wisconsin, and what all this chaos means for the playoff picture. To close things out, Ty reveals his updated top 12 rankings, we answer live Verballer questions about Ohio State inevitability, the best G6 teams, and the champions of NIL, and finally, hand out Dude Alerts to standouts like Bear Bachmeier, Dallas Wilson, and Ty Simpson.
