POPULARITY
On this episode of Majority Rules, the gang starts off with everyone's favorite topic, Mizzou Baseball, which leads to a lengthy discussion between the group about whether Bieser should have gotten fired and how short KJ's leash is given the woeful season. Matthew and Sammy also have thoughts about the new turf announcement, Sam Horn's debut, and predictions on if they will win an SEC game this season. Rory is back and joins the group in real-time to talk all things Mizzou Tennis & Golf. Bianca Turati has done a really nice job with the tennis team this season, and the golf teams continue to shine under coaches Millican (men's) and Westrup Gaeta (women's). Since Karen has been focusing on gym, both Matthew and Dylan handle the softball updates, as they recap the pretty good (?) A&M series, which included yet another W over another no. 1 team. They discuss playing through injuries, postseason expectations (or not), and Madison Walker raking. Abigail then joins via video update with a quick recap of all you've missed in Mizzou Track & Field. There also were a lot of updates for out of season sports, as WBB continues to make news. Players with no eligibility are entering in the portal (insert Succession "You are not serious people" gif here), Harper lost the only incoming freshman recruit, but really, there's a lot of be excited for. The group chats briefly about who she's brought in, and how this is a sneaky good class that just needs a couple more pieces. Matthew shares volleyball and wrestling updates while Karen's wifi goes off the rails, before returning with all awesome news out of Gymnastics. There's so much to talk about from this incredible season, and it's all exciting (and somewhat infuriating regarding ESPN/ABC disappearing the team & some suspect scores) as they have left a mark on Mizzou history. Rory wraps up with a swim transfer update, and the team talks about Larissa Anderson's breaking social media post on the way out. Never a dull moment with this group and Majority Rules. It was an amazing weekend at In-N-Out Burger Pomona Drag Strip for the 2025 Lucas Oil Winternationals. The stories from every aspect of the race were amazing. On the Saturday December 21, 2024 edition of The Richard Crouse Show we'll meet Bette Reynolds. She's Everyone's Favourite Granny and if you've been on line in the last few months—and who hasn't?—you probably saw her performance on The Voice UK. Earlier this year she became the show's oldest contestant ever when she did her rendition of The Sugarhill Gang's, Rapper's Delight in an effort to get coaches Sir Tom Jones, Will.i.am, LeAnn Rimes and Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones to turn their chairs. She became a sensation, and she joins me today top talk about being on the show, doing a duet to Black Eyed Peas, I Gotta Feeling, with the song's writer Will.i.am and her new Christmas single “Grandma's Christmas Escape.” Then, we'll take a deep dive into Christmas horror stories with author Joshua Millican. Over the past decade-plus, Millican has proven himself to be a horror expert of the highest caliber. He is one of the genre's premiere journalists, and today we'll talk about the best Christmas horror movies and his two new books, “All Through the House: The Novelization” and “Chopping Mall: The Novelization.” Finally, I'll share my conversation with one of the world's most successful music stars, Robbie Williams. He found fame as a member of the pop group Take That from 1990 to 1995, launching his mega successful solo career in 1996. By 2008, he had sold more albums in the UK than any other British solo artist in history and right now his record sales stand at over 77 million worldwide, making him one of the best-selling artists of all time, and now his wide ride to fame has been captured in a new movie called Better Man, which comes to select theatres on Christmas Day before opening wide on January 10.

It seems everywhere you go, both inside and outside of the power industry, people are talking about hydrogen. Last October, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced an investment of $7 billion to launch seven Regional Clean Hydrogen Hubs (H2Hubs) across the nation and accelerate the commercial-scale deployment of “low-cost, clean hydrogen.” Hydrogen is undoubtedly a valuable energy product that can be produced with zero or near-zero carbon emissions using renewable energy and electrolyzers. The Biden administration says it “is crucial to meeting the President's climate and energy security goals.” “Hydrogen is one of the hottest topics in the energy transition conversation right now, and that's because it really is a super versatile energy carrier. A lot of folks refer to it as ‘the Swiss Army knife of decarbonization,' including our founder, Mr. Gates,” Robin Millican, senior director of U.S. Policy and Advocacy at Breakthrough Energy, said as a guest on The POWER Podcast. Breakthrough Energy is a network of entities and initiatives founded by Bill Gates, which include investment funds, philanthropic programs, and policy efforts linked by a common commitment to scale the technologies needed to achieve a path to net-zero emissions by 2050. “If you think about the ways that you can use hydrogen, you can use it as a feedstock for industrial materials, you can combine it with CO2 to make electrofuels [also known as e-fuels], you can use it for grid balancing if you're storing it and then deploying that hydrogen when it's needed, so it can be used a lot of different ways, which is great,” Millican said. “But actually, to us, the more salient question that we should be asking ourselves is: you can use hydrogen in a lot of these different ways, but should you be using hydrogen in all of those different applications?” Millican said there's a simple framework that she uses to answer that question. “If there's a way that you can electrify a process, in almost all cases, that's going to be cheaper and more efficient from an energy conversion standpoint than using hydrogen,” she said. Millican suggested electrification is a better option than hydrogen for most building and light-duty transportation applications. While noting that hydrogen could be a suitable option for aviation e-fuels, she said biofuels might be an even better fit. However, when it comes to fertilizers and ammonia, clean hydrogen is very likely the best pathway to reducing emissions in that particular sector, she said. Breakthrough Energy isn't the first group to think about hydrogen in this way. Millican noted that Michael Liebreich's “Hydrogen Ladder” has been focusing on the best possible uses for hydrogen for years. According to Liebreich, hydrogen shouldn't routinely be used in power systems to generate power because the cycle losses—going from power to green hydrogen, storing it, moving it around, and then using it to generate electricity—are too large. However, he says, “The standout use for clean hydrogen here is for long-term storage.” Yet, Millican said there is a scenario where hydrogen could be extremely affordable at scale. She said “geologic hydrogen” is something Breakthrough Energy is very interested in. “There are companies out there that are working on identifying where hydrogen exists naturally in the subsurface, and then trying to extract that hydrogen, which could be super affordable, because again, it's abundant in some areas,” she explained. “If we're thinking about hydrogen in that scenario, we might want to use it a lot more ubiquitously.”

NHRA Midwest Nationals winners Clay Millican and Greg Anderson join host Brian Lohnes on this episode of the NHRA Insider podcast. The race changed the face of the points in all professional categories and Lohnes opens up the show talking about just that. For Greg Anderson, back-to-back wins in this late-season stretch have juiced his chances of winning a title. Now sitting number two in the points, he is in a place that many had thought impossible for him to find earlier in the season. After middling performances, he has broken out from the pack and stands a very scant number behind current leader Erica Enders. Clay Millican is having a season unlike any other in his more than two decades of experience in driving top-fuel dragsters. Recording his third win on the year in St Louis, Millican now sits eighth in the points, thick in the battle for an even better position with three races to go. Millican talks about some of the inside stuff regarding his Rick Ware-owned, Jim Oberhofer-tuned dragster. Between the great insight about running the car, his team's approach, and his outlook for Dallas and beyond, there's loads of fun stuff to listen to, here. It's the post St. Louis show and it's full of the info that you'll only hear on the NHRA Insider.

Lisa Ann Millican was a 13 year girl living in the foster system of Georgia. She mysteriously goes missing in September of 1982, and was later found murdered in a canyon in Alabama. Her killers then went on to abduct and murder a 22 year old woman named Janice Chatman. Unknown to Lisa, her death helped law enforcement in 3 southern states to apprehend a serial killer couple that had no intention of ever stopping. Join us in the closet this week as we discuss this tragic case of multiple victims, and some very depraved murderers. *Crimes and Closets is a true crime podcast production of Skoldon, LLC Sources: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alvin_and_Judith_Neelley https://www.gadsdentimes.com/story/lifestyle/2007/09/30/legacy-of-a-murder/32245071007/ https://www.crimeonline.com/2023/05/04/notorious-drano-killer-who-injected-13-year-old-girl-in-neck-with-liquid-drainer-scheduled-for-parole-hearing/ Investigation Discovery's Wicked Attraction: Hearts of Darkness, Season 1, Episode 10 Investigation Discovery's Deadly Women: Twisted Thrills, Season 5, Episode 1 Investigation Discovery's Most Evil: Women, Season 2, Episode 15 https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/31502912/lisa-ann-millican https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedartown,_Georgia --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/crimesandclosets/message

President Theordore Roosevelt once said, "Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far". I can't help but think of that statement when I think about Allen Anders. He doesn't speak much, he's not flashy, but when he goes fishing, he's a big stick. He and his dad Richard fish the local bass tournaments in North Louisiana and do quite well. They even beat Ben Millican at Caney in January. Millican just won the Bassmasters Open on Toledo Bend, so to me, that's a big deal. Allen came on this week to talk about his year and share some insight on how you can do better yourself. Hope you guys enjoy!
Shortly after graduating from college, Jim Millican went to work for a small IT service provider in a sales and marketing position. In that job, he found that working on the technology was way more fun than selling it. And he struck out on his own. People start businesses because they don't know any better. Jim was no different. In 1994 he founded Ashton Technology Solutions. He has grown the business that started as one guy billing time into a professional team of engineers who work with clients to implement technology solutions to help them grow their businesses. Ashton Technology Solutions is a 25-year testament to Jim's commitment to building a company culture that puts the customer first. He'll be the first to tell you, it's not about the technology, it's about the people. Ashton makes technology work for people. One of the core values of the company is ”humble” which means that it is not about me, it is always about we. That value applies to the team environment at the office and how Ashton serves clients. By nature, Jim is a problem solver and derives a great deal of pleasure from developing elegant solutions to complex problems. Because the business offers him not only the chance to solve technological problems, but business problems, Jim is always eager to jump in to help. Supply chain issues are still causing problems for Athletic Trainers. Thankfully Paul Calloway has the inside scoop to help us stay ahead of it. AEDs - there has been a shortage for a little while. Shortage in components and an uptick with purchasing after Damar Hamlin incident Hospital suppliers have more access than sports medicine suppliers Aerosols Tough to get - QDA, Tuff Skin, Adhesive, Cold Spray All are unavailable for the foreseeable future possibly until 2024. Magic spray and stick em' May not be available in as many varieties Shortages cause price increases M-tack from Mueller is a pump spray Gatorade chews Still in short supply They have basically taken those out of the options Cliff bar energy chew is an alternative Foam There has been a bit of pressure in the foam market. Pre-wrap and under wrap continue to be problems for sourcing Price increases should be expected Looking at about $1 per roll OTC meds More so with Medique brand products They have been struggling for about 2 years to get things leveled out. You may need to buy in the bulk bottle Athletic Tape Coach tape from J&J was bought by BSN Medical The price has gone up but it is back and available again. Elasticon has been brought back as well Zonas 1-inch box tape is back in production as well. Other concerns There tends to be consolidation of SKUs…like there may be fewer options for ankle braces Mueller has discontinued some of the medkit lines. Not a whole lot of new products out this year Prices will continue to generally increase Freight We are paying more in freight now than last year. Even if it says free shipping, it still has to come out of the costs. Tips If there are a few sacred items put no substitutions but be willing to consider alternatives on most other products. Andover was bought by Millican…they are the same, but just now switching branding They did discontinue some of the niche items Paul Calloway - Twitter or Facebook

Ron Capps and Clay Millican join host Brian Lohnes on this episode of the NHRA Insider Podcast. Both racers are in a strong position with regard to their seasons. Capps sits just 10 points behind leader Robert Hight and Millican, with fresh ownership and parts is in the fastest race car he has had in years. While Millican may be a bit too far out to be considered a favorite, Capps has been slugging with Hight and Hagan on a weekly basis to maintain his championship position. Clay Millican brings great insights into the operation of his top fuel team under the ownership of Rick Ware Racing and what it means for the future of the entire outfit. It is an exciting time for he and the entire team as they now have an inventory of parts that will allow them to run the car as hard and fast as the front runners under crew chief Jim Oberhofer. Ron Capps is loving life at the moment. He comes off a big win in Dallas and is in the dream position of being less than one full round out of first place in his NAPA Toyota GR Supra. A multi-time champion, he reflects on the hardened experience of those first two championships and how that struggle can help him here. Capps talks about his crew, Dean Antonelli and co-crew chief John Medlen, and what the future holds for his operation. This is a fun listen with two of drag racing's great personalities!

Back in October at the Newcastle Stand, Mickey was tasked with herding the following brilliant comedy cats: Sarah Millican, Louise Young and Sally-Anne Hayward. As ever during In Conversations, the gamut of topics is vast, but with a healthy focus on cats, chocolate and periods. However, the real issue is clearly how the hell Sally-Anne Hayward still walks among us given her unsanitary sanitary product behaviour. You'll never look at a sock the same way again.
