My friend Sid Bassett (married father of four, retired business executive, licensed clinical mental health councilor) and his wife Stephanie recently returned for being mission leaders of the Hawaii Laie Mission (2022-2025). Sid joins us to talk about his new podcast called “Return Missionary Next Chapters” which shares inspiring, honest stories of life after the mission. Through candid, vulnerable, and deeply human conversations with returned missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the show explores how mission service and cumulative life experiences shape faith, identity, and the direction of both the chapters already lived and those still being written. These are stories for anyone navigating the questions, growth, and hope that come after the name tag comes off. Sid also shares some of his unique life experiences including retiring as a business executive and then—completely out of left field—going back to school and became a clinical health counselor and how that experience helped him as a Mission President with over 650 missionaries. Please check out Sid's new podcast and share it with others—really powerful episodes covering topics that help all of us. The work Sid is doing is so needed in our community. Thank you my lifelong friend Sid for being on the podcast and all you are doing to help others. In today's episode, Elizabeth sits down with Ella Rose McFadden, content creator and founder of clean beauty brand Skin by Ella Rose. They talk about the tender, transitional season they are both navigating: newly married and trying to conceive. Ella opens up about her PCOS diagnosis in her early twenties, the dismissive early doctor experiences that followed, and how finding the right fertility specialist changed her relationship with her own body. They get into the mental shift of switching from preventing pregnancy to actively trying for it, the overwhelm of tracking data from the Oura Ring and Mira monitor, and why sometimes less information is more. Ella also shares what dry January taught her about sleep, energy, and nervous system regulation. This conversation is not about having it all figured out. It is about slowing down and trusting your body through a big life transition. If you want to go DEEPER with me, my Substack is where I share even more behind-the-scenes, personal reflections, and wellness experiments, with new posts dropping every Thursday: https://substack.com/@thewellnessprocessFollow Ella Rose McFadden:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/ellarosemcfadin/Skin by Ella Rose: https://www.instagram.com/skinbyellaroseFollow us:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/thewellnessprocesspodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thewellnessprocessYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@TheWellnessProcessSponsors:Join CrowdHealth to get started today for $99 a month for your first three months using code WELLNESS at joincrowdhealth.comSecure 10% off for life and begin your intentional wind-down journey today at piquelife.com/wellnessUse coupon code TWP to save 15% at boncharge.comProduced by Dear MediaSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
Dr. Portia Rawles has returned for another segment of the Next Chapters series. If you've been listening, you know that Dr. Rawles was the CEO of Rawles & Associates, a mental health provider in Virginia and North Carolina. Buongiorno… or perhaps Buonasera—depending on where you are in the world. Today's episode is a heart-opening love letter to Florence, Italy. And if you've ever stepped foot in a foreign city and felt inexplicably at home—like your soul had been there before—this story will speak to you. I'm joined by the beautiful and wise Melinda Gallo, writer, intuitive expat, website developer, and author of the exquisite new book Messages from Florence—a collection of soulful reflections, photography, and poetic messages received through her 21-year journey of living in Florence. Melinda didn't plan to live in Italy. But after arriving for what was meant to be a three-month break to learn Italian and find inspiration, the city had other plans. Within weeks, she had an apartment, a job, and a whole new life—and she's been guided by Florence ever since. Inside this romantic, soulful episode, we talk about: How Melinda followed her intuition (and left a successful tech career in Paris) to start over in Italy Why Florence became her muse, her teacher, and her greatest guide The story behind her book Messages from Florence and how it was divinely downloaded over years of quiet communion with the city The creative rituals and intuitive practices that shaped her path What it truly means to lead a heart-centered life A beautiful $10-off gift for Messages from Florence—link below! Melinda's story reminds us that reinvention doesn't always begin with a plan. Often it begins with a feeling… and the courage to follow it.
