This special archive episode takes us back to summer 2020, when Steve Mellor interviewed Alison Hadden for his Women Changing the World series. What he only learned afterward was that Alison had found out just one day earlier that her cancer had returned and was terminal. She never mentioned it during the conversation. Instead, she spoke with clarity, strength, and intention about leadership, resilience, and living like there is no time to waste.Alison passed away in January 2022, but her message continues to inspire anyone seeking to live with more purpose, courage, and gratitude.About the Guest: Alison Hadden was a sales and marketing leader, athlete, and founder of the No Time to Waste Project. She built her career at high-growth companies including Active, Glassdoor, and Mindbody, and became known for her energy, leadership, and purpose-driven approach to life. After facing cancer, she turned her experience into a mission to help others live with greater gratitude, joy, and urgency.About the EpisodeSteve revisits a conversation first released when the podcast was still called Career Competitor. Part of the Women Changing the World series, this interview stands out for Alison's remarkable presence and perspective in the face of devastating news.Rather than focusing on her diagnosis, Alison shared a message that still resonates: live with intention, lead with courage, and don't waste time on what doesn't matter.Key Takeaways:Leadership through adversityThe athlete mindset in business and lifeGrit, resilience, and perspectiveCancer, identity, and transformationGratitude, joy, and human connectionLiving with urgency and intentionLinks and ResourcesNo Time to Waste Projectnotimetowasteproject.comSend a textSupport the showConnect with Steve Mellor Stay connected and keep growing with Steve: LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/in/steve-mellor-cc/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/coachstevemellor Book Steve to speak at your next event → www.stevemellorspeaks.com Support the GrowthReady Podcast by leaving a 5-star rating → Apple Podcasts - https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/growthready-podcast/id1406082163 Connect with GrowthReady Join the community and keep your growth journey going: LinkedIn - https://www.linkedin.com/company/wearegrowthready/ Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/growthreadypodcast/ Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/growthreadywithcoachstevemellor Official Website - https://growthready.com/ ---- This podcast was produced on Riverside and released via ...

The trouble in this world is a reminder that our days on earth are short. We make the most of our time and are careful how we live, since eternity is waiting.

Granger Community Church Podcast

When the calendar turns and a new year stretches out before us, we're reminded that time is a gift—and how we use it matters.A new series began with Grit, launching with Week 1: No Time to Waste. Together, we leaned into the reality that we all have the same amount of time each day, yet how we choose to spend it reveals what we value most. Through Scripture, we were challenged to consider God's rhythm of work and rest and how living with intention shapes our faith. As we reflected on Jesus' teachings and shared in communion, we were reminded to stay ready, faithful and grounded in what truly lasts. At the start of a new year, we were invited to live with grit—using our time wisely, resting well and trusting God with every moment we've been given.

What does it really take to lead a world-class cello section while raising two young kids and navigating an orchestra's evolving culture? The Cello Sherpa Podcast Host, Joel Dallow, sits down with San Francisco Symphony principal cellist Rainer Eudeikis for a candid, witty, and deeply practical conversation about moving from Utah to Atlanta to the Bay Area, why some orchestras feel close-knit while others run purely professional, and how life stage changes your sense of community as much as geography does.Rainer opens the front-stand playbook: direct conversations with the conductor, shaping section sound in real time, and the hidden grind of bowings that can make or break a rehearsal. He explains why he once resisted pops and movie concerts, how he came to value their physical and mental reset between heavy rep, and how smart rotation preserves endurance across a demanding subscription season. His practice advice is refreshingly doable—an under-30-minute daily routine that maintains intonation, articulation, and vibrato, plus “simmering” solos weeks in advance so they peak on cue. He also shares how to turn stage time into training, using lighter programs to refine shifts, bow control, and contact. On auditions, Rainer pulls back the curtain on San Francisco's process: resume screening, when and why tapes help, the pros and cons of recorded prelims, and the committee discipline needed to keep standards high without wasting candidates' time or money. He describes hiring multiple young players—some initially asked to submit tapes—and what separates winners: musical identity, adaptability, and the ability to move a room in the first 30 seconds. For students and early-career musicians, his guidance is sharp and actionable: define your niche early, seek mentors who do the job you want, and build the psychology to perform under pressure without losing musical voice. If you care about orchestral life, cello leadership, audition strategy, or simply practicing smarter, this conversation is rich with takeaways you can use today. Subscribe, share with a friend who's prepping auditions, and leave a review to tell us your biggest question about principal leadership. For more information on Rainer Eudeikis: https://www.rainereudeikis.com/You can also find Rainer on YouTube: @EudeikisIf you are looking for in person/virtual cello lessons, or orchestral repertoire audition coachings, check out www.theCelloSherpa.comFollow us on Facebook, Instagram, Threads & YouTube: @theCelloSherpaFor more information on our sponsor: www.CLEAResources.com

Significant levels of food loss and waste continue to have negative impacts on food security and the environment, and Sustainable Development Goal 12.3, which aims to halve food loss and waste worldwide by 2030, remains out of reach. Join us on “12.3 Day” 2025 to take stock of efforts and opportunities to make progress toward this important goal. Organized by the Embassy of Denmark in Washington, DC, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), and the World Resources Institute (WRI), this event will examine commitments and best practices implemented around the world; and most importantly, explore how to go from big promises to real, tangible actions to reduce food loss and waste. We will discuss: National Commitments in Global Forums. 2025 is a significant year for multilateral global efforts to tackle climate change and bolster food systems. Countries are submitting new Nationally Determined Contributions prior to COP30 and Food Systems Transformation Action Plans prior to the UN Food Systems Summit +4, presenting a unique opportunity to embed food loss and waste in national plans while also laying the groundwork for implementation. Corporate Commitments. 13 large food retailers and their suppliers have committed to the 10x20x30 Food Loss and Waste Initiative, which aims to slash food waste across supply chains. Many are demonstrating real results, giving a look at how businesses can effectively team up to scale action. Evidence-Based Solutions One Third, established in 2015 by the Danish government as the first think tank solely dedicated to reducing food loss and waste, has gathered evidence on effective solutions and how to scale them. This virtual event is free and open to the public to attend. Please share this event with interested colleagues and networks. We have No Time to Waste! Kamala proposes freezing retail prices like Communist / Marxists. It will lead in food shortages. When government steps in to control retail prices, they are destroying free trade. Russia tried it and it destroyed a nation. She opposes economic fundamentals that have survived nearly 250 years. She is a chameleon. She spins on a dime and is now following Trump-developed economic policies. Meanwhile, Kama-Kama-Kama-Chameleon has abandoned her post under Biden to protect the border and has through her negligence killed 100's of thousands of Americans exposed to illegal fentanyl coming in through these ‘illegal' immigrants. The tampering with our oil reserves has now created a national security risk, and more economic instability. 15-20 ‘Blue' cities that are welcoming illegals to their ‘sanctuary cities' now have deep regret. The states of the nation are painted red, yet 20 blue cities are trying to control your future, and are opening the doors to make these illegals voters. Kamala supports this Marxist plan!WMXI Episode 150: Return Our Nation To What It Was ~ No Time To WasteOriginally Aired on WMXI Radio on Friday, August 16, 2024Special thanks to the following source(s) for the image(s) used in this content: The Fallible Man LLC➡️ Join the Conversation: https://GeneValentino.com➡️ WMXI Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/NewsRadio981➡️ More WMXI Interviews: https://genevalentino.com/wmxi-interviews/➡️ More GrassRoots TruthCast Episodes: https://genevalentino.com/grassroots-truthcast-with-gene-valentino/➡️ More Broadcasts with Gene as the Guest: https://genevalentino.com/america-beyond-the-noise/ ➡️ More About Gene Valentino: https://genevalentino.com/about-gene-valentino/

Audit how you spend your time and energy. Why do you spend your time how you spend it? Why is that on your calendar? What do you get out of these things? You should get something from it. It doesn't have to be money. You should get a return on your time investment in some way. Don't give your time if you don't get something in return.Bright Ideas For Business by MusicLFilesLink: https://filmmusic.io/song/9146-bright-ideas-for-businessLicense: https://filmmusic.io/standard-licenseMentioned in this episode:New Book: The View From The Deck: Thoughts on Values, Vision, and GratitudeGet your copy of Michael Whitehouse's new book The View From The Deck: Thoughts on Values, Vision, and Gratitude now. https://amzn.to/4a6w0tu

Welcome back to another enlightening discussion on the Jewish Inspiration Podcast. This time around, listen in as we explore the profound notion that the pursuit of pleasure, specifically spiritual pleasure, is at the very heart of human existence. Drawing from the paradox presented in Parashat Vayechi, we uncover the essence of what it means to be truly alive, emphasizing that we are souls wrapped in physical form, yearning for a deeper connection with the Divine. Our journey through the Torah provides us with the ultimate manual for nourishing our soul, as every mitzvah observed and every spiritual act becomes sustenance for our true selves. The conversation then shifts to the hurdles we encounter in life, where we discuss the indispensable role of the Yetzer Hara, or evil inclination, and how it can distract us from our spiritual objectives. Reflecting on the wisdom of the Ramchal, we come to understand that the struggles we face are not mere inconveniences but rather the necessary challenges that refine us, earning our place in Olam Haba, the World to Come. Acknowledge that the desire for a life devoid of problems is but a fallacy; instead, embrace the universal nature of these trials as opportunities for growth and the actualization of our divine mission. In the final stretch of our dialogue, we draw inspiration from the remarkable accomplishments of sports legends like Larry Bird and scholars such as Reb Naftali Amsterdam, who demonstrate that overcoming adversity can lead to extraordinary achievements. We are each endowed with a unique set of tools and strengths, which, when harnessed correctly, can propel us to fulfill our individual purpose. As we wrap up, the message is clear: relish the journey, celebrate the hurdles, and find joy in the pursuit of our spiritual goals, for as long as we draw breath, our work is not done. Join us for this uplifting and soul-stirring episode, and may you be blessed with success and spiritual contentment. This weekly series is led by Rabbi Aryeh Wolbe, a journey through personal growth and character development guided by the teachings of Ramchal (Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato) in the Mussar Masterpiece, Mesillas Yesharim (Ways of the Upright). In a recently shared article in the Daily Dispatch shines a spotlight on ambulance shortages and the measures first responders are taking to provide adequate care to their community. In a notable incident, Portland Fire and Rescue utilized one of its fire engines to transport a stroke victim to the hospital. This decision was made after Intterra mapping app, utilized by first responders in the area, indicated there was not an ambulance available for immediate patient transport. Fire Headlines host Samantha Didion is joined by the panel, Chief Jeff Buchanan and Chief Bob Horton to delve into the liability issues and staffing shortages associated with this topic.   Fire Headlines listeners have also submitted a question concerning how small departments with limited budgets can maximize their resources.

Pipe Fittings: Is there a way to avoid having to solder the pipes when relocating some faucets? Doug can use a convenient product that's the perfect solution for challenging spaces. Plumbing: We're not sure why Selena had all her drainpipes replaced and now she's been told to replace the main supply line. She should get a second opinion. Roof Leak: Kent thinks his bathroom ceiling stain is from the vent fan, but we advise him it's probably caused by a gap in the rubber boot around the plumbing vent through the roof.   Do you have a home improvement or decor question? Call the show 24/7 at 888-MONEY-PIT (888-666-3974) or post your question here. On this episode Brian is joined by Charlie Tsiolis from Progressive Thrash Metal Band AFTERMATH.Aftermath are currently putting the finishing touches on No Time To Waste, their forthcoming third album in a trilogy, on which the title track described above is included. The new album is a departure from the previous dark, concept album installment in the trilogy. It also includes the band's re-imagining of the John Lennon classic, "Give Peace a Chance".Chicago based Aftermath, fronted by Kyriakos "Charlie" Tsiolis, formed in October 1985 when Charlie and his schoolmate Steve Sacco got together. This early incarnation released their first demo in 1986 featuring “Sentenced to Death”, “Revenge”, “Shotgun” and “The Aftermath”.Twenty-five years after its formation, Aftermath's music made its return in 2011 with the release of the Box Set 25 YEARS OF CHAOS on Area Death Productions and the vinyl When Will You Die on F.O.A.D. The reemergence of one of the most original thrash bands ever continued in 2014 with their decision to reunite for several concerts in 2015. Coming off their first show in 20 years at Ragnarokkr Metal Apocalypse in their hometown of Chicago, the band ripped the stage apart at Headbanger's Open Air in Hamburg, Germany that summer.
