She will be the one to tell you to step away from the cookies but also celebrate the milestones and small wins with you. Stephanie started Sweet Disaster in September 2020, in the middle of the pandemic. In this episode of Open Record, FOX6 Investigator Bryan Polcyn shares how this plan is something community leaders have wanted for some time. Polcyn also details his latest investigation that profiles one driver who is emblematic of not only the problem, but how ineffective enforcement of this problem has been up to this point.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
I connect with my guest, Stephanie Polcyn, today in all things. Fitness and health and nutrition and mindset and just the way that we as women have to show up in the world. If we don't look at the lens of health and wellness as a piece of our identity, we are missing out on so many critical pieces of wealth and fruit that I know God has promised for us because he calls us to steward our bodies and steward them well. And the overflow of that obedience, what it does to our households, what it does to our marriages or other relationships, and just our own sense of self-worth - God knows that you are beautifully and wonderfully made and you should stand in the mirror feeling the exact same way. Stephanie's heart towards your worth is beautiful and amazing, and she has so many programs that you could integrate into. Check her out in all the places! My Harvest Mastermind has a few open spots! Of the more than 36,000 teenagers of driving age in Milwaukee County, only half actually have a driver's license. While no one knows just how many, it is clear a significant number are driving anyway. They're behind the wheel with no education, training, or legal right to be on the road. In today's episode of Open Record, FOX6 Investigators Bryan Polcyn and Amanda St. Hilaire explain why community leaders say drivers education is critical to reducing reckless driving in Milwaukee and how funding cuts and COVID-19 are standing in the way. Polcyn, who has been digging into the reckless driving problem in Milwaukee, reminds people about the city's Reckless Driving Task Force and its recommendations. Is there money set aside for combatting reckless driving in the 2021 budget? Polcyn walks us through the MPS Drive program and breaks down its success rate and limitations. Is reckless driving among teens and adults something the city can solve?
There's a growing economic pressure in Wisconsin for parents to find affordable child care options. But does hiring an unlicensed provider put your child's care at risk? A Waukesha child care provider is facing a criminal charge for lying to police about her identity and some of her clients say she lied to them, too. In this episode of Open Record, FOX6 Investigators Bryan Polcyn and Amanda St. Hilaire dig into that case, a recent investigation by Polcyn that came to us from a FOX6 viewer. You'll learn what it means for a child care provider to be operating illegally and how you, as a parent, can find out which providers across the state have been ordered by the Wisconsin Department of Children and Families to stop their care. You'll also learn why licensing matters when it comes to child care and what parents can do if they're facing an urgent need for care, but affordability is a barrier.

Less than 24 hours after a FOX6 investigation exposed growing concerns about a COVID-19 outbreak in Cudahy, the Patrick Cudahy plant announces it's closing for two weeks. The Cudahy Health Department confirmed 28 positive cases at the plant, which is up from nine last week. During that closure, the company says "a rigorous deep cleaning and sanitation" will happen in an effort to protect workers. In this special edition of Open Record, FOX6 Investigators Bryan Polcyn and Amanda St. Hilaire explain why FOX6 filed an open records request with the Cudahy Health Department in the first place. Polcyn goes into what he found out, roadblocks he ran into, and what Patrick Cudahy's parent company, Smithfield Foods, had to say about the outbreak. The master chef will bring his knowledge to Eastern Market this weekend.
The arts of making French charcuterie and its Italian cousin, salumi, are two of the highest forms of the craft of cooking. So when I heard that chef and cooking teacher Brian Polcyn and journalist Michael Ruhlman, the authors of the two definitive books on those subjects, had come out with an app for lovers of charcuterie and salumi everywhere - and there are a lot of them; their book Charcuterie has sold more than 200,000 copies - I knew they had to join me on Special Sauce.
The Embassy Scarf and the 1st of 3 Kitschy Tea Cup Pot Holders are done! There's been lot's of spinning going on and something new on the needles. It's also back to school season. AJ laments that she can;t ever get the back to school shopping done in any minute but the last minute and almost had to kill an intern.
The podcast is late and AJ has a sore jaw. What should of been a really productive fiber week got derailed by adventures in truffles and marshmallows only to be totally Kiboshed by Oral surgery and pain meds. The Embassy Scarf by Amy Polcyn is still on the needles. For some reason AJ hasn't given up on those scrap yarn socks yet and she learned that she can't lazy daisy worth a bean! (What excactly is a bean worth, anyway?)
Aj, Joe, & B brave the heat at the Peninsula Fiber Fling. There's Storehouse Black and Red Tea in the tea pot. Aj get's lost in a tchotchke shop looking for tea. Joe dodges a bullet when Aj doesn't buy a new pet and a knitting project was actrually completed! HUZZAH!
AJ has been knitting, and crocheting, and spinning like crazy all week. There's all sorts of things mid stream and nothign is done! The family has finally escaped the house and gotten that Mexican dinner, Joe is corrupting B, and of all people B is the back seat driver! Even with all the Hijinks and knitting AJ read Soulless by Gail Carriger and reviews it After 5.
Tour De Fleece is over! Aussie Aussie oi oi oi! AJ talks about what's on the needles, pulls out her crochet hooks, recaps Tour De Fleece 2011, and reviews "A fine Fleece: Knitting with handspun yarns" by Lisa Lloyd. B helpd diego save the Pepper cheese Monkey. While AJ renews he faith in Joe's masculinity. (Not really...)
It's week two of Tour De Flecce and things on AJ's bobbins have gone south.... way south. There's has been some knitting this week. The Swatch from H#!! hs redeemed itself and the hibernating purple scarf has been finished. B has decided he's jsut a jet pack away from life as the caped crusader and the whole house is and itchy mess! Don't bats eat mosquitoes?
Week one of Tour De Fleece is over! Aj isn't comitting to anything knitting wise and is workign on some UFO's and the swatch from Hades. It's also been one honey of a week and AJ tells about her " Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very BadWeek".
