Whether it’s in the front of your mind or on the back burner, most people have been wondering if there’s an end to the pandemic in sight. We all want to know when we’ll be able to freely gather with family and friends once again, and when it will be safe for our children to return to school. With over 34 million cases of COVID worldwide up until this point, Agatha and Dr. Greene take a look at current data regarding COVID rates, hospitalization, and outlooks for a vaccine in order to determine when we might be able to go about our lives without the need of a mask. While it still may take a while for that to happen, the good news is that there are a lot of things we can do to keep ourselves safe, which not only keeps us healthy, but will also contribute to the overall decline of the pandemic at large. According to recent data, there are over 152 million Americans who are victims of narcissistic abuse. Narcissists can entangle themselves in your life and can cause a severe amount of trauma and betrayal. Narcissism and betrayal can lead to the perfect storm, and it is only by recognizing the red flags of a narcissist that you can set boundaries and heal yourself so that you don’t become a narcissist magnet. Tracy Malone is the founder of Narcissist Abuse Support, a global resource that helps victims in over 145 countries heal after a narcissistic relationship. Whether it is a romantic partner, family member, friend or co-worker, narcissists thrive on getting what they can out of people, which is why the pain from this type of betrayal can run so deep. Betrayal is just part of the package when dealing with a narcissist, and the sad truth is that they will never change. By putting language towards narcissistic tendencies, understanding the stages and tendencies of a narcissist, and not sharing your shame story unless someone deserves it, you can learn how to protect yourself from becoming vulnerable to a narcissists’ game. If you are in a relationship with a narcissist, wanting to heal and get to the stage of ‘no-contact’ or are looking to understand the mind of a narcissist, Tracy is here to shine a light on a topic so many struggle with. Are you ready to break the pattern of narcissistic abuse and learn your own internal lessons so that you stop attracting or falling prey to narcissistic tendencies? Share your experience with us in the comments on the episode page. In This Episode Red flags to look out for if you think you may be in a relationship with a narcissist Understanding the different types of narcissistic personality disorder and their traits The three stages of narcissistic abuse and how to get to the ‘no-contact’ stage How to heal from an abusive narcissistic relationship and move past your fear The importance of rebuilding trust in yourself to heal your trauma for good Quotes “They know they have got you. All they have to do is mold themselves to what you are telling them you are looking for, and they’ve hooked you! It’s a green flag to them.” (6:07) “Most people, sadly, get discarded, or leave a narcissist seven times before they are able to go no contact and never have to deal with them again.” (16:10) “[Narcissists] can’t really change themselves. They can go back into that love bombing stage, and they can act, but they are never ever going to be able to feel empathy.” (18:00) “Abandonment is not just ‘daddy left when I was six’. It's someone not being there for you emotionally who is in your life. So if you have been with a narcissistic partner, they have emotionally left you and you feel abandoned.” (21:51) “If you don’t do the work, you’re going to hook another narcissist, you have to learn this lesson before you go out there, so let yourself have time to heal.” (30:39) Links Narcissist Abuse Support Website Follow Tracy on YouTube | Facebook Group Find the full episode post here: https://pbtinstitute.com/81 Do you have Post Betrayal Syndrome? There’s a beauty in taking a failure, rejection, no, or quit and turning it into something good. It starts with reshaping our minds to see these as opportunities instead. Matthew del Negro has made his life out of accepting no’s with grace. Matthew is an actor and host of the 10,000 No’s podcast. Being an actor, he’s faced many rejections in his life from auditions and pilot episodes, rarely getting callbacks. It’s just the life of an actor! But he’s looking at the positive side of these no’s and has decided to celebrate them for what they are: opportunities in disguise. Now that we’ve established that facing rejection is a chance for the Universe to bring something else to your attention, it’s important to remember that those people you think of as an overnight success are really not. They’ve all gone through the rejection process and have come out on top. But just because you’ve succeeded once, doesn’t mean you will every time - the struggle doesn’t stop just because you’re at the top, it just changes. But Matthew says that just because you accept these no’s or the quits you decide to do, you might still feel a sense of loss and disappointment. It’s okay to feel these, but it’s not okay to wallow in those feelings. Overall, Matthew shares that you need to listen to what your heart wants because it’s rarely going to steer you wrong. One way to help reframe your feelings of rejection is to look at life as one giant audition. Matthew explains how each audition that didn’t end in an acting gig was building who he was, helping his reputation, and taking him closer to the big break. The Universe has its own path for you, you just have to trust it. Have you faced a no in your life before? How do you deal with rejection? When is the last time you put your trust in the Universe? Let us know in the comments on the episode page! In This Episode: Why “overnight successes” are anything but Why you need to understand that the struggle doesn’t just stop when you have one success What emotions you can experience even when you’re sure you want to quit something Why you should listen to what your heart wants Why you should treat your entire life as an audition How you can trust that the Universe has its own path for you How you can reframe your idea of failure Quotes: “They have a very different idea of what my life is from what it really is. They see that little tip of the iceberg, they don’t see everything else that goes into it.” (7:01) “Your problems don’t go away, they just morph into something different. Your challenges.” (13:02) “Are you doing it because you told everybody and you’re doing it because you care about them and what they think of you and it’s a bad look? Or are you doing something that you’re really following your heart.” (19:04) “Sometimes quitting, or sometimes a “no,” doesn’t mean you’re never going to do a thing. It just means you’re not doing this thing right now.” (22:07) Links Find Matthew Del Negro Online Follow Matthew Del Negro on Instagram | Twitter | Facebook Get 10% off your order of Remarkable Wellness adaptogenic mushrooms with code QUIT10! In this episode Realizing that what you have is a video business even if it’s just you in it The incredible importance of setting clear expectations with all of your clients How to easily avoid getting stuck making unlimited revisions What to do about clients who don’t value filmmaking and storytelling Why you shouldn't try to sell a client something that they’re not asking for Quotes “They are out there but there are probably some practices and habits and things you need to do in your work so that you are attracting the right client.” [11:23] “All of our frustrating clients and situations that end up costing us extra money are investments in you as a business owner and entrepreneur. Those are learning opportunities. Those frustrating clients are your teachers.” [15:43] “Your job is not to convince somebody. Dancer and lap dance extraordinaire, Audrey Angstrom, is live and direct from Los Angeles this week with Bunnie to teach you how to do a real lap dance for your man. Audrey talks about how she got started as a dancer, how much money she makes, the tough part of hustling your body, and what her time in rehab taught her. She and Bunnie also talk about getting out of abusive relationships, and her poetry book Overwhelmed. Get those headphones on and be ready to blow your man’s mind with this one. Takeaways: Audrey has been dancing for 5 years, and found that she made more money doing it than any job she had before. On a good night, she makes $1,000 or more. It’s not all just dollar bills flying though. The dancers work super hard to promote, and have to sell bottle service or else eat that charge on their own. Maybe Bunnie will start a Strippers Union soon to represent justice for all!? Audrey self published her poetry book Overwhelmed, to help process her own trauma and recovery and help others out through whatever demons they are fighting on their end. Audrey was in rehab in a super intense in-patient treatment, and learned so much about her own strength and resilience throughout the process. She takes it one day at a time and does a lot of self care in between giving the best lap dances. You can break out of an abusive relationship. Audrey did so herself, and shares the pain of how brainwashed you become when you are in an abuse cycle. Audrey is pansexual, which means she doesn’t see people as gender. She loves who she loves, and her love has no boundaries. Okay here it is — the most basic lap dance rules: give steady eye contact, make your touch soft and sensual and not like a Neanderthal, move slow, and shake it all. Quotes: “They don’t call it a house fee, our manager calls it a ‘donation’.” “Made double my paycheck on the first night.” “I can sell used underwear back to someone.” “Square bitches are rude as f*ck.” “Going to rehab was a blessing.” Mentioned: Crazy Girls Overwhelmed @audreyangstrom Check out Bunnie: @xomgitsbunnie BunnieXo @officialdumbblonde
Most of what we are doing comes from our subconscious programming that is largely influenced by our family patterns. Your lineage could be a great indicator of your susceptibility to being betrayed, or being a betrayer, and it is only by understanding it that you can correct your patterns and move forward. Johanna Lynn is the founder of the Family Imprint Institute and helps her clients resolve painful patterns that can live on in generations as if on repeat. Your unconscious loyalty to a parent, or your ancestral alarm clock, could be having a major impact on the way you make your decisions and your ability to find happiness. We tend to paint our partner with the same brush of what we didn't get enough of as a child, and the way you are triggered in a relationship can help you understand the greater forces at play. Invisible factors that you have inherited play a major role in how you make decisions about your life and relationships. Johanna is here to explain exactly how you can take control of those patterns so you can keep the good and get rid of the rest. Are you ready to be real about your lineage and put your pain to bed? Share what you learned in this episode in the comments on the episode page. In This Episode Recognizing the invisible factors that play into how you make decisions Why you shouldn't jump back into a relationship too soon after your betrayal The importance of giving your child equal access to each parent What to do if you are noticing narcissistic behavior in yourself or your partner Digging into the impact your family lineage could be having on your relationship Quotes “They say 70% of what goes on in a marriage has to do with each other's family of origin. But I can tell you, the more years I am in this work, the more I am convinced its a lot more like 99%.” (5:46) “Until we’ve really recognized, ‘aha, this was the part I brought into the relationship that kind of exploded in front of my face’, were less likely to recreate that in the next relationship.” (11:02) “We’re doing this not for the ex, were doing this for our children. Children do best with equal access to both parents, and the last thing we want is our children to be on our side against their own father. This is a huge determinant to kids and amplifies the likelihood that they will show up in a similar relationship.” (22:33) “Betrayal doesn't have to be the end of your story; perhaps it is the start of a brand new book, with all kinds of new experiences. So make it a learning experience that opens the door to something better.” (26:03) Links Johanna Lynn Website Find the full episode post here: https://pbtinstitute.com/71 Do you have Post Betrayal Syndrome? Are you worried that being a freelancer and a parent are incompatible? It’s not uncommon for freelancers to have concerns about taking care of their kids among all their freelancing commitments. Since questions about this are so common in the Motion Hatch community, I’ve brought in the experts to answer all your burning questions. With their own podcasts and communities for freelance parents, Steve Folland and Frankie Tortora have a heap of knowledge on this topic. They’ve built successful freelance careers while raising their children and now help others like them navigate the same hurdles that they encounter on a regular basis. Steve and Frankie start off this fascinating conversation by explaining some of the parallels between parenting and freelancing and how one can help prepare you for the responsibilities of the other. They go on to share some great ideas about how you can find enough time and energy to be fully present for both your business and your family, such as bringing in more people to work alongside of you and really understanding the value that you provide for your clients. It can be really tough to navigate these issues that can get in between work and family. After speaking with Frankie and Steve, this doesn’t seem nearly as daunting as before. The recurring theme here is that being self-employed actually means that you can be there more for your kids and since it provides significant benefits that traditional employment doesn’t. Even if you’re not a parent, you’ll still find tons of wisdom and great advice in today’s episode which includes some great productivity hacks that we can all take advantage of. In this episode: How the flexibility offered by freelancing can help you be more present and involved in your child’s life What to consider when raising your rates when you’re starting a family Useful tips for retaining your regular clients when you have to take family leave The pros and cons of starting your freelance business before and after having children Maintaining the stamina necessary to take care of both your business, your children, and yourself How having kids is actually a super-charged productivity hack How to make more time in your schedules while parenting full-time without getting burnt out Quotes: “They just suddenly give you this little human and nobody tells you what to do with it. It’s a bit like freelancing, really. Nobody tells you what to do with that either and you kind of muddle it out by hanging out with other freelancers and you muddle it out by hanging out with other parents.” [4:46] “The only predictable thing about having kids and being self-employed is that life is unpredictable. That is the one thing that you can count on.” [6:41] “I think there is a lot of pressure to try to do all the things, especially when you see people who don’t have kids doing all the things. But I think you just have to keep an eye on how you yourself are coping with that sort of stuff.” [24:11] “Certainly having children doesn’t make you less productive. I think it makes you more time efficient. Then it’s what you choose to do with that time.” [38:46] “Your career might pivot and it might change, but it’s not the end -- it’s the beginning!” [1:00:59] Links: Find Frankie at Doing it for the Kids Follow Frankie on Linkedin | Instagram | Twitter | Facebook Find Steve at Being Freelance Follow Steve on Twitter | Instagram | Facebook | YouTube Find the full show notes here Keep up with everything Motion Hatch Follow Motion Hatch on Twitter | Instagram If you haven't already, would you mind leaving us a rating and review? IBS is the most common GI disorder worldwide and SIBO tops the charts as the #1 cause of it. But what about those people who have Crohn’s or other inflammatory bowel diseases? I’m continuing my discussion with Dr. Ilana Gurevich by getting deeper into the different diagnoses of SIBO, IBS, and IBD. Dr. Ilana Gurevich is a naturopathic doctor specializing in gut diseases. Through careful stool analysis, sometimes even sending your stools to a specialist, her bold approach to treatment will help you solve your IBD issues. Though she often prescribes antibiotic treatments for SIBO, Dr. Ilana also prioritizes herbs and herbal treatments for her patients, sometimes in multiple courses. She also uses her background in acupuncture to help give a complete picture of your body’s health to help solve your IBD problems. In this episode, you’ll learn about the bacteria and fungus growth present in nearly 100% of Crohn’s Disease patients. You’ll also find out the truth behind testing stool samples - it’s not always enough to poop in a cup and look at it. We also talk about acupuncture and how this ancient Chinese healing art can be used to treat your gut problems. Have you ever tried acupuncture? How much water do you drink everyday? What’s your relationship with caffeine? In This Episode: What the differences between SIBO, IBS, and IBD are What bacteria and fungus are present in nearly all people who have Crohn’s disease Why stool tests don’t always give the entire picture of your bowel health Where you can pick up parasites and how you can avoid them How acupuncture can help with motility How much water you should be drinking every single day What the best source of caffeine is Quotes: “They just came out with a study about 6 or 7 months ago where they did stool cultures on inflammatory bowel disease patients and their families and what they found is this triad of two bacterias and a fungus that are all present in almost 100% of Crohn's patients.” (5:26) “I see a lot of IBS patients, most of them don’t have IBD. I see a lot of IBD patients and most of them have some IBS within their IBD.” (14:03) “I cannot explain to you how much chronic disease stems from the mouth.” (27:16) Links Join Dr. Ilana Gurevich’s Masterclass Find out more Dr. Ilana Gurevich Online Check out the full episode post here Keep up with everything SIBO SOS™ here Follow Shivan on Facebook | Twitter | Vimeo Join the SIBO SOS™ Facebook Community Get access to the complete SIBO SOS™ course catalog

Today’s episode features trainer, educator and consultant, Dr. Pat Davidson, back for his second appearance on the show. I had the good fortune of meeting Pat at his “Rethinking the Big Patterns” seminar August in San Francisco, and had an awesome time taking in Pat’s training philosophy in person with lots of good discussion and hands on demonstrations. In the aftermath of the seminar, I wanted to record a show with Pat where we hone in on “doing no harm”, particularly in the sense of how we address weaknesses and tend to over-coach pretty much everything. One thing I love about Pat’s work is that, not only is he brilliant, but also continually brings things back to what is practical in real life situations. Pat isn’t afraid to defer to simple, bare bones training to give clients and athletes the best possible experience. For today’s show, we get into how to approach an athlete’s weaknesses without hurting their confidence and the overall training process, and how that filters into screens, warmups, and more. Today’s episode is brought to you by SimpliFaster, supplier of high-end athletic development tools, such as the Freelap timing system, kBox, Sprint 1080, and more. Key Points: How to approach bringing up an athlete’s weaknesses without hurting their natural athleticism in the process How much an athlete can improve in tri-planar function based on their rib cage dynamics Pat’s take on movement screens in general How some athletes can “fail movement screens” and have robust and resilient careers in pro sports Pat’s take on excessive warmups and traditional “muscle activation” Quotes: “They noticed the unpunished group had the same numerical improvement in performance as the punished group… it’s a tendency of individuals to come back to the mean” “It seems as there is no point in giving someone negative reinforcement” “If I really want to screw up a tennis player, I’ll ask them, “do you notice what you do with your elbow on a backhand”” “I am very hesitant to tell people about things they are not doing well” “(In regards of movement screens) The table doesn’t really lie, people can trick you when they stand up… the table to me is your potential” “A cable pull-through is the hardest (deadlift based movement) to screw up” “All models are wrong, but some models are useful… how useful can your model actually be” “It’s not like a straight leg raise test are going to yield some magic answers for you that make a difference in the way you coach things” “The FMS is reproducible inside of itself… but that information is not transferrable to tasks outside itself” “The FMS and SFMA have zero frontal plane assessments” “Just by putting you on one leg doesn’t mean its more tri-planar than anything else” “Let’s get this pelvis over the foot, and now this person’s adductor lit up like a Christmas tree” “A warmup does not need to take 20 minutes…. if you are still doing (the same warmup drills) you haven’t learned the thing” “If you are trying to mobilize your big toe in warmups, you have probably missed the big picture” “Learn how to prune your tree to a much smaller level so you lose much less time in the training process” About Pat Davidson Director of Training Methodology and Continuing Education at Peak Performance, NYC. Most people work their entire lives, except Bruce Wayne. He was in control, had nice cars, and a house on the beach. His phone was not ringing because he had his stuff together. I'm coming to you from Kauai, which is my favorite island. About 17 years ago, I came to the “Bruce Wayne” house that I’m sitting in right now. He's not Batman, but he was loaded and living what I consider the perfect life because he had time and money. He owned apartments, and that's how my story began. Bruce was not a great mentor, but he gave me the perfect vision - I am going to own this house some day. And I may need to work with a broker to get it! Topics on Today’s Episode: Have a vision, cultivate it, pursue it, and actively start living out the destiny Dealing with brokers: Their job is to get the seller a buyer; sometimes they come off as very pushy, aggressive, and intimidating Don’t let a broker steer you in their direction; have extreme confidence to start changing the dialogue and challenge the broker’s crazy statements Brokers often give you information that means nothing; you should just care about how a property underwrites and its potential Create a structured process for fact-finding missions/site visits Ask questions and interview those who understand a property - people running it Splinters happen; a side conversation that they weren’t telling you gets spilled Everybody's watching you and making their own judgments on can you buy or not, you have operational excellence, and do you know what you’re doing Don’t do most of the talking, ask the questions and then be quiet Unit Refresh Process: Always look at the worst units and floor plans; get a good sense of what the units look and feel like, and how much work is needed Know the cost on stuff and have an idea of what the market is already bringing Become friends with the brokers to build trust Negotiating is rough and feelings can get hurt, unless you are with professionals Throw in a low-ball offer; you still have to play the game Respect the brokers, but they should also respect you; demonstrate your ability to call things out and know your process Links and Resources Mentioned: Corey Peterson on YouTube Kahuna Cashflow Calculator Kahuna Boardroom Quotes: “They have a job...get the seller a buyer, and sometimes they come off very pushy, sometimes they come off very aggressive, and they can be quite intimidating.” Corey Peterson “Brokers are really good at giving you a lot of information that means nothing.” Corey Peterson “The best people that truly understand this property are the ones that are running it.” Corey Peterson “They weren’t questions that we sit there to demonize anybody or to put in a bad light of anything, but we did need to know the information.” Corey Peterson Don’t forget to download my Free Workshop Quickstart Video Series, and if you like what you have heard please leave a review on iTunes. Dr. Susie Gronski is a doctor of physiotherapy, a board certified pelvic rehab practitioner, and simply put, she's a physiotherapist for your private parts. She is the author of Pelvic Pain: The Ultimate Cockblock. She loves the outdoors and snuggling with her boys, her Hubby and fur babies. She's passionate about empowering others to take control of their sexual health, resolving their pelvic pain and fears around pain in general, meditation and spiritual development, education people about their bodies (especially their private parts) and being real... whatever that means! Dr. Susie kicks off by telling Alexa how she got into the medical field and what inspired her to follow a path into physiotherapy. Pursuing her hunger for knowledge and her thirst for adventure, as well as a shocking moment in which say may (or may not) have peed on herself, she found the field of pelvic health. That covers the hoo hah's, but as for the dangly bits, when guys started coming to her with issues, she decided out of compassion to narrow in and niche down in order to help people with one specific issue: their private parts. Alexa asks her about the most common issues she faces with Men, and Dr. Susie is more than happy to share the list! She gives quite a few examples of issues that men face, and the role that not only physical health, but also mental health plays in the healing of pelvic issues. She also shares some information about the pain that women experience, and why men aren't looked at with the same eyes women are when it comes to pelvic pain. She and Alexa talk about the person, place or thing that you keep facing on a daily basis that causes stress, can create and manifest a protective response in the body. It's important to identify the triggers that cause you stress, and work to rectify that issue, as triggers can often lead to bigger health problems if left unchecked. Dr. Susie also mentions that environment plays a role in the healing process. She gets into the subject of pain, and the fact that it's necessary for survival. She describes that both physically and emotionally, pain is a way to identify something that is wrong for us, or that we shouldn't be doing. She explains that it's a good idea to pay attention to our pain, but also to accept it as well as push beyond it to find a solution. She also talks about pain being a gift because it makes you take action. Alexa talks about branding, and asks Dr. Susie about her choice of branding and the journey it took to get there. She happily describes the experience of pushing her limits, and taking the plunge to speak her mind within her business and her message. Alexa also talks about authenticity and how important it is to be honest and up front with yourself and your audience. She also accepts and invitation to In Your Pants, Susie's podcast. Quotes “They don't have help, they don't know where to go, and no one will listen to them” “Without awareness of recognition, how can you change anything?” “If we didn't have pain, we wouldn't have the ability to survive as a species” “What we feel in our body is because our brain is telling us to feel it” “It is a conscious experience, but it's constructed in our brain” Links www.drsusieg.com In Your Pants – Podcast
In this episode of Smart Leaders Sell, Jess brings back Podcast Producer Scott Doucet to talk about a membership sales blunder he's made! Actually, in the spirit of full transparency, Jess scheduled 4 other guests to record this week and all of them got the same sickness and had to reschedule, so Scott has arrived as an afterthought, but luckily: he always has a sales problem in need of a solution! Scott recently launched a membership community for podcasters and aspiring podcasters to get better at their craft, promotion, and monetizing. He has offered his membership out for $1 for the first month, and one person has signed up. His sales question: Why is no one signing up, and where do I go from here? Jess starts off by congratulating the one person who has signed up, and explains that it's difficult to get people to sign up to membership sites because they have an aversion to signing up to anything low cost. She explains the psychology behind why that is, and mentions that Scott has no problem selling higher ticket services. Jess asks Scott where he feels he went wrong, and he explains that he didn't really believe in the price, and felt it should have been a higher dollar value right from the start. She asks about a few different strategies that Scott normally uses, and asks if he's done them for this offer, and the answer is a strong No. Jess shares her strategy for the benefit of not only Scott, but those of us who are listening in with plans to launch our own membership sites. She shares that when she initially launched, her site was not complete. She describes her process and the cost she launched at, as well as offering the reason why. She also talks about why paying customers approached her and told her to charge more. She tells Scott what happens when he devalues himself, and the ripple effect that has throughout his audience. He comes to the abrupt and painful realization that he's training people into a behavior that doesn't match the attitude that he actually wants them to have. Jess also explains the difference between Scott's community versus the one's he used as an example for this offer. Jess goes on to share that the best salespeople don't necessarily have dominant personalities, but they do need to be told to buy. She goes on to tell Scott why confidence is necessary, and why his offer actually showed the exact opposite of confidence. Quotes “They assume that they'll get what they pay for” “I made the coupon code ROBBERY because that's what it feels like” “I wanted people to buy when it was incomplete so I could test it and tweak it” “We have this mentality, especially in the online business space, where we think 'Build it and they will come' and that doesn't actually work” “I have a goal to make my community the richest podcast community in the world” “I made it happen because I wanted it to happen that badly” Links www.Podcastbay.net More Jess: https://www.facebook.com/groups/FabulousFemaleEntrepreneurs/ https://jessicalorimer.com/supersize-your-sales https://jessicalorimer.com/list-building-legend Content Disclaimer The information contained above is provided for information purposes only.
