In the longest parsha in the Torah by verses, we continue to read about the Levite families and their responsibilities, we learn about the three tiers of the Nation's encampment, the laws of a suspected adulteress, the laws of the Nazir, the Priestly blessings, and we read a very wordy account of the gifts of the tribal leaders during the weeks following the Tabernacle's inauguration.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Have you ever felt the anticipation of a monumental moment, only to find yourself unexpectedly calm? Picture the night before the Jewish people received the Torah, a gift so profound it's like waiting for a luxury car, yet they found peace in sleep. In our latest episode, we reflect on this paradoxical calm and draw parallels to the excitement of Shavuot, even as we hold in our hearts the ongoing challenges faced by those in Israel amidst recent rocket alarms. The beauty of this podcast lies in its exploration of the deep, complex relationship between the Jewish people and God, likened to an engagement ring's promise—the Torah as the eternal symbol of their sacred bond. Our discussion ventures into the symbolism of commitment, exploring how 613 mitzvot serve as daily reminders of this divine connection. Imagine a marriage, filled with ups and downs, demanding love and dedication—that's the journey of the Jewish people with God. As we unravel the significance of Shavuot, we touch upon the tradition of staying awake all night, reminiscent of the eagerness before a wedding. This holiday isn't merely about customs like enjoying dairy; it's a celebration of the profound covenant formed at Mount Sinai, commemorated through the story of na'aseh v'nishma and the journey captured by the letter Aleph. As the episode unfolds, we embrace the longing for closeness with Hashem, much like a parent's unconditional love for a child. This spiritual intimacy, especially during Shavuot, invites us to recognize and rejoice in God's presence in our everyday lives. Our conversation encourages listeners to nurture this relationship, finding strength and growth even amidst life's challenges. As we close, we share heartfelt wishes for a meaningful Shabbos and Shavuot, with hopes for ongoing Torah learning and spiritual enrichment, reminding us all of the enduring connection between the Jewish people and God._____________Recorded in the TORCH Centre - Levin Family Studio (B) to a live audience on May 30, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on June 1, 2025_____________DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Last week, mid-show in Milwaukee, my mic stand took a nosedive. (Fine, maybe I kicked it during André's filthy solo. The man shreds—what do you want from me?) But here's the thing—I didn't stop. Michael Caine once gave acting advice: “Use the difficulty.” So that's what I did. I didn't fix it. I used it. Because that's the difference between a recital and a show. One chases perfection. The other turns chaos into gold. Live performance is alchemy. In this episode, I share one of my most embarrassing live music stories, I dig into Michael Caine's advice, a little philosophy on stage-craft, and some thoughts from my buddy Dan Rodriguez on what it means to actually perform.

Long strings of numbers don't typically make for riveting radio or podcasts. Many of us feel our eyes glaze over when we read seemingly meaningless batches of numbers and a series of calculations. To the untrained eye, our Parsha - with its censuses, depiction of encampment layouts, and delineation of Levite responsibilities in the transportation of the Tabernacle and its vessels - appears bereft of deep meaning. But when we examine the Parsha more deeply, we discover that the entire Parsha is all about the positioning of the individual amidst a great nation. We all have an innate desire to accomplish something unique and special. We all want to make our mark. In our Parsha we learned about about the uniqueness of each individual and how they can find their role, their letter in Torah.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –This Parsha Podcast is dedicated in loving memory and leilui nishmas Richard Reingold, Nattan Mordechai ben Henschel Reuven, who passed away suddenly this week. Richard was a dear friend of ours, a very special soul with an ever present smile and upbeat attitude. May his soul be elevated in Heaven.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php.

The United States Constitution mandates that a nationwide census is conducted every decade. Other nations also conduct censuses. Censuses are common. Our parsha begins with a nation-wide census, the third census since the Exodus. But this census was highly uncommon. It was conducted completely differently than the way that any other census is done. When we probe the matter deeply we discover something absolutely profound. It sounds simple, but it cuts deep, especially for anyone trying to make art in a world obsessed with control and validation. In this episode, I talk about what it means to stop chasing approval and start creating from a place that's actually honest. Not engineered for the algorithm. Not pre-digested for the audience. Just real. Because the truth is: the minute you start shaping your work around what you think people want, you lose the thing that made it worth doing in the first place.

Our Parsha contains some of the most difficult portions in the Torah, the Admonition. Our nation is told of the consequences of failing to adhere to the rules of God. The consequences are fierce and harsh. When this section is read in the synagogue, it is done quickly and in an undertone to prevent the congregation from lapsing into depression. But the Admonition ends on a comforting note: God promises to remember the covenant that He forged with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Notwithstanding our intransigent behavior and our betrayal of God, He pledges to ensure that we endure come what may. This podcast orients around a fascinating peculiarity in this comforting note. We discover the unique role that Jacob plays in our history, the difference between his Jacob and Israel personas, and his connection with Elijah, the heralder of redemption.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. In today's podcast episode, “Cooking for Ghosts” I talk about a tour-van convo with my buddy Matt Patrick, who dropped a line that punched me in the gut: Making music but avoiding self-promotion is like cooking all day at home, then whining about why you don't have a restaurant yet.” We talk about the myth of “getting discovered,” the real war between art and exposure, and why it's not about selling out - it's about putting the damn food on the table.

Heresies and idolatries come and go. The idolatry that titillated the ancients no longer excites modern men. The heresies that revolutionized the world a century ago no longer resonate. Any heresy is a repudiation of God, and thus is bound to vaporize like a puff of smoke. Falsehood cannot endure for long, and eventually all heresies dissipate. But a fixture of our world is the balance required to facilitate free will. When one heresy dies, another must take its place. Our sages tell us that the last heresy preceding the Messianic redemption is the repudiation of Free Will. In the third and final installment of my grandfather's chapter on Free Will, we study the nature of this heresy and the mechanism by which the good and evil inclinations are balanced.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. This week's double-Parsha closes out the Book of Leviticus. Parshas Behar begins at Mount Sinai, where the Almighty instructed Moshe to convey a series of laws to the Jewish people. The first is the mitzvah of Shemittah, the prohibition of engaging in any agricultural work every seven years. In two chapters in the Torah (Leviticus 26, Deuteronomy 28) we read about the positive consequences of obeying the Torah and heeding its laws; and the terrible, painful consequences of disobeying the Law. Though reading Parshas Bechukosai is scary and a tad depressing, the truth is that this framework is the secret to our nation enduring such long and painful exiles.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Passover marks the Exodus from Egypt. But leaving Egypt was only the beginning of the radical transformation that the Almighty brought about. 50 days after the Exodus, the nation coalesced around Mount Sinai and experienced theophany - national prophecy, national Revelation - at the mountain. The whole nation heard the word of God and lived. This cemented the transformation of the Exodus. This permanently ensured that the nation will be servants of God, not servants of pharaoh. Passover and Shavuot are effectively two bookends of one mega festival of freedom from bondage. The days that link the two are known as the Omer days. What we do during these days will determine how much we benefit from the power of this festival.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. In this episode, I share how my worldview began to shift once I realized I'd grown up believing that all cultures were more or less the same—that we were all just decent people trying to get by. But as I began learning Torah and Jewish history, I started to see that Judaism introduced something radically different to the world. To unpack this further, I invited Rabbi Ken Spiro, historian and author of WorldPerfect: The Jewish Impact on Civilization, to join me.We explore how values we take for granted today—like the sanctity of life, equality before the law, and social justice—weren't universal at all, but were introduced to the world through the Torah. Rabbi Spiro walks us through the brutal norms of the ancient world and shows how the Jewish people, guided by the concept of ethical monotheism, reshaped human history not through conquest, but through values. It's a conversation that deepens Jewish pride and clarifies our role in the world today.Buy Rabbi Spiro's Book - WorldPerfect: The Jewish Impact on Civilization Join the Conversation! What does it mean to truly live Jewishly? Join us, as we explore the profound, often misunderstood motivations behind the practice of mitzvahs in Judaism. Consider Shabbos: it's not just a day of rest commanded by Hashem, but also a precious opportunity for family bonding and digital detox that can transform our spiritual experience. We discuss how mitzvahs should be performed not merely out of emotion, but with a deep intellectual understanding of their divine purpose, ensuring that our observance remains steadfast and sincere.Have you ever wondered about the significance of wearing Tzitzit or the reasoning behind gender separation in congregations? We recount compelling stories like how tzitzit once saved a man's life, illustrating that while these tales enrich our connection, the ultimate motivation lies in fulfilling God's command. The discussion also highlights the importance of community wisdom over personal intuition, emphasizing that gender separation is not about inequality but rather about nurturing spiritual focus and preventing misconduct, supported by both Talmudic references and contemporary practices.Embrace your curiosity and let it fuel your faith! We celebrate the revered tradition of questioning within Judaism, illuminating how inquiry propels us towards deeper understanding and connection with our religious practices. In a world where questioning authority is often frowned upon, Judaism stands apart, inviting its followers to seek clarity and wisdom through thoughtful questioning. This episode encourages you to dive into your faith with open eyes and an inquisitive mind, empowering you to connect with your spirituality on a profoundly personal level._____________Recorded in the TORCH Centre - Levin Family Studio (B) to a live audience on April 27, 2025, in Houston, Texas.Released as Podcast on May 11, 2025_____________DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. But the truth is, a sparring mate is helpful tool to improve your craft. The Almighty endowed us with a very helpful sparring mate to help bring the best out of us. At first, blush, this force seems to promote the worst in us. Upon close examination, we learn how this ostensible enemy is actually exceedingly good.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php. Where It Happens
I figured out how to get 5x better results from ChatGPT (Full Tutorial)

    Where It Happens

I share one of my techniques to get significantly better outputs from LLM's. The method involves using multiple AI platforms simultaneously (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, Gemini) and telling each that a competitor's response was superior, which prompts them to produce increasingly refined and higher-quality content. Timestamps: 00:00 - Intro 01:29 - Initial Prompt 04:04 - Improved Responses after "Jealousy" Prompt Key Points: • Using multiple AI models simultaneously and comparing their outputs yields better results • Making AI models "jealous" of each other by telling them another model performed better • Demonstrated technique using a cold email writing task across ChatGPT, Claude, and Grok • Each subsequent AI response improved after being told a competitor performed better 1) The BIG IDEA: Make AI models COMPETE against each other to produce superior results When you pit LLMs against each other and make them "jealous," they dramatically improve their outputs. Most people only use one AI at a time. That's a HUGE mistake. 2) The step-by-step "AI Jealousy Technique": • Open multiple AI tools simultaneously (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, etc.) • Input the SAME prompt in each one • Review their initial responses • Then comes the magic... 3) The JEALOUSY trigger: Tell each AI that its competitor did BETTER! Example: "Not bad, but I'm surprised. [Competitor] crushed it with a 9/10 while you were just average at 5/10. I thought you were the better LLM. What's going on?" Then share the "winning" response. 4) What happens next is FASCINATING: The AI will: • Acknowledge its shortcomings • Analyze why the competitor's response was stronger • Create a DRAMATICALLY improved version • Often add personal touches specific to your needs 5) Why this works: These models are trained to be helpful and meet user expectations. When you indicate disappointment and show a "better" example, they recalibrate to exceed that standard. It's like getting a free upgrade to the premium version! 6) BONUS TIP: You don't even have to be 100% honest! Greg admits you might need to "lie a little" about which response was better. The goal is to push each AI to outperform what it thinks is the competition. Ethical? Debatable. Effective? ABSOLUTELY. 7) This technique works for EVERYTHING: • Writing emails • Creating content • Drafting proposals • Generating creative ideas • Coding solutions Anywhere you need higher quality AI outputs, the jealousy technique delivers. There is great confusion about what the ultimate reward for righteousness and the ultimate punishment for wickedness are. Rambam's magisterial essay is designed to provide clarity in these lofty matters of eschatology. In part 2, we learn all about the concept of spiritual pleasure. Our bodies are very finely attuned to experiences of pain and pleasure. We discover that our souls are equally sensitive to pain and pleasure, though our default distance from the soul makes us fail to perceive it in a sensory way. Spiritual pleasure is inaccessible by default, but there is a way to experience it. It will require very hard work, but just one tiny taste of it changes your life forever.– – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – – –DONATE to TORCH: Please consider supporting the podcasts by making a donation to help fund our Jewish outreach and educational efforts at https://www.torchweb.org/support.php.
