Join host Baylor Barbee on Shark Theory as he delves into the evolving world of artificial intelligence, its potential to replace certain professions, and the irreplaceable nature of human virtues such as kindness and integrity. As society trends toward increased AI integration, Baylor challenges listeners to focus on personal growth and being good individuals, a quality technology can never replicate. In this episode, Baylor Barbee discusses how AI is transforming various aspects of life, from enhancing productivity tools to assisting on the golf course as a digital caddy. However, he emphasizes that while AI can replace many functions, it can never replace the essence of being a good person. Baylor passionately shares insights on how to become 'irreplaceable' by contributing genuine value to others and improving the environments we inhabit. Drawing inspiration from the New Zealand All Blacks' philosophy and personal experiences, Baylor teaches that true legacy is built by leaving things better than we found them. He encourages individuals to reflect on what they need and how they can offer that same understanding and assistance to others. Lastly, he underscores the importance of self-care and internal kindness as foundational elements for contributing positively to society. Key Takeaways: AI can replace many professional tasks, but it will never replace human kindness and integrity. To be irreplaceable, focus on bringing genuine value and leaving a positive impact in all interactions. Reflecting on and providing to others what you once needed is key to making a meaningful impact. The legacy you leave is determined by your effort to improve things beyond just fulfilling obligations. Self-care and kindness to oneself are essential to maintaining the energy needed to positively impact others. Notable Quotes: "If you want to make yourself absolutely irreplaceable in society, you have to focus on how to be a good person." "Are you a good person? Do you bring genuine value to others?" "The human spirit is something that AI will not replace." "You owe it to yourself to give yourself the best of your time, the best of your energy." "The answer to how to be irreplaceable is to bring the world more of what you need."

Alex Hill works with a range of sporting organisations. He sometimes stuns them into silence too.On one such occasion, Hill, the Co-Founder and Director of the Centre for High Performance, compelled senior leaders at the Premier League to confront its own demise.“I said: ‘at some point people will not want to work for you'. Now that feels impossible at the moment,” Hill tells the Leaders Performance Podcast. How did that observation go down?“It was quite a quiet room,” Hill says. “At the moment, they're lucky they've got the pick of the best talent, the best physios, the best scientists – but that might not be there forever.”Hill spent 13 years studying organisations that have out-performed their peers for over 100 years, including the All Blacks, Eton College and the Royal Shakespeare Company. The result is his book Centennials: The 12 Habits of Great, Enduring Organisations.“If you want society to support you long term, your impact has to be much broader than just creating role models,” he continues. “Why don't you take the learning from being at the cutting edge of mental and physical performance and share that?”Hill believes that the British national governing bodies competing at the Olympic and Paralympic Games could feed those lessons back into the community in the form of a “spin-offs division” similar to that of NASA (another centennial).“This spin-offs division [could be] designed to take that learning and feed it into all of society so that the whole of our country develops.”It is just one idea Hill shares during the course of a conversation full of advice for sporting organisations. He spoke of the New Zealand All Blacks and their readiness to embrace failure [40:20]; finding smarter ways to attract money and talent [10:45]; and why a diverse talent pool can make an organisation more relevant to a broader swathe of society [17:15].Henry Breckenridge X | LinkedInJohn Portch X | LinkedInListen above and subscribe today on iTunes, Spotify, Stitcher and Overcast, or your chosen podcast platform.
In this episode our host, Lieutenant Colonel Dean Canham OBE, speaks to bestselling author, speaker and leadership and high-performance consultant, James Kerr. James has worked with elite teams around the world, across numerous sports, businesses and military units, developing their cultures and leadership in the pursuit of success at the very highest level. He is the author of the renowned global bestseller ‘Legacy', which delivers a unique insight into the culture that drives the worlds most successful sporting team - The New Zealand All Blacks. His forthcoming book ‘Ethos: The Legacy Playbook' is a practical guide for putting vision into action, and purpose into practice. James is emphatic in his belief that servant, or coaching, leadership must be the norm for successful leaders, and that leaders should consider themselves a resource for the teams that they have the privilege of leading. He emphasises the significance of adaptability in leadership, that it is imperative that leaders have the ability to change depending on the context of a situation, and though leadership provides complexities, self-awareness - or ‘leading from within' - must be the start point of any leader's journey. He comments on the people-centric nature of leadership, recognising that the ‘soft skills' can actually prove to be some of the hardest to put into practice, but the rewards for doing so, are great. James suggests that leaders ‘make the weather' in a team, and where climates add up to cultures, great cultures are founded in respect, humility, accountability, and psychological safety. Like us, James believes that the development of leadership should be a continual, through-life journey, where the character of a leader is ‘mission critical'.

New Zealand looked good when they got the only chance of the game 14 minutes into the second half, Beaudon Barrett throwing himself over the line in the corner with the oval ball under his belt. Bhí cuma na maitheasa ar an Nua Shéalainn nuair a fuair siad an t-aon úd den chluiche 14 nóiméad isteach sa dara leath, Beaudon Barrett á chaitheamh féin thar an líne sa choirnéal agus an liathróid ubhchruthach faoina ascail aige. jQuery(document).ready(function(){ cab.clickify(); }); Original Podcast with clickable words https://tinyurl.com/ysbegapj Contact: irishlingos@gmail.com Another big game before the rugby players of this country. Cluiche mór eile roimh imreoirí rugbaí na tíre seo. This evening Ireland will face Tonga in the Rugby World Cup which is taking place in France. Tráthnóna inniu a thabharfaidh Éirinn aghaidh ar Tonga i gCorn Rugbaí an Domhain atá ar siúl sa Fhrainc. Andy Farrell's team is in pool B, this is Ireland's second game in this competition after they comprehensively dispatched Romania (82-8) last week. I bpúl B atá foireann Andy Farrell, seo é an dara cluiche ag Éirinn sa chomórtas seo i ndiaidh dóibh an Rómáin a chur de dhroim seoil go cuimsitheach (82-8) an tseachtain seo caite. However, it is understood that this game will be more difficult for them, some players at Tonga who played for New Zealand (All Blacks) in the past. Tuigtear áfach go mbeidh an cluiche seo níos déine orthu, roinnt imreoirí ag Tonga a d'imir don Nua Shéalainn (All Blacks) sa bhfad a caitheadh. But Ireland had a good and strong start last Saturday and there was little to notice, although many would say that Romania was not of the same standard or risk. Ach bhí tús maith láidir ag Éirinn Dé Sathairn seo caite agus is beag lúb ar lár a bhí le tabhairt faoi deara cé go ndéarfadh cuid mhaith nach raibh an Rómáin ar an gcaighdeán céanna ná baol air. There are no injuries worth talking about in the Irish team and they deserve a lot too. Níl aon ghortuithe gur fiú caint orthu ar fhoireann na hÉireann agus is mór is fiú dóibh sin freisin. This is the 3rd time Ireland has played against this country, an island located in the Pacific Ocean. Seo an 3ú huair ag Éirinn ag imirt in aghaidh na tíre seo, oileán atá suite san Aigéan Ciúin. The Irish have beaten them twice already. Bhuail na hÉireannaigh iad faoi dhó cheana. Andy Farrell's boys will be hoping for another win tonight. Beidh súil ag buachaillí Andy Farrell bua eile a bheith acu anocht. They will need it all as they still have Australia and Scotland to play in this group and hope to progress to the quarter finals. Teastóidh sé uilig uathu mar go bhfuil An Astráil agus Albain fós le n-imirt acu sa ghrúpa seo agus súil ansin acu dul chun cinn chuig na cluichí ceathrú ceannais. Then they will look to make their own history there and make their way as far as the semi-final for the first time in a competition that started in 1987. Ansin féachfaidh siad lena stair féin a dhéanamh ansin agus a mbealach a dhéanamh chomh fada leis an gcluiche leathcheannais den chéad uair riamh i gcomórtas ar cuireadh tús leis i 1987. At 8 o'clock Irish time that game will start in the city of Nantes. Ag a 8 a'chlog am na hÉireann a thosóidh an cluiche sin i gcathair Nantes. That ALL Might Be Edified: Discussions on Servant Leadership
I had the wonderful privilege to have Rock Ete as the guest for this episode. Rock is the Business Development Manager for Entergy Louisiana, the largest electric utility in Louisiana. Rock starts off the episode by giving us some great background on growing up in Samoa and describes some of the pros and cons of the council system they use on his native island. He talks about how he learned humility, listening carefully, and how to discern what is meant. Rock teaches a powerful lesson by talking about his dad's oratory skill in contrast to some of his life's struggles. We discuss some of the ways to be more inclusive with more diverse faith groups and also take on some of the pitfalls of servant leadership. Rock emphasizes the importance of every voice being heard, making sure that people know their purpose, and working hard to build a consensus. Rock closes out the episode going back to his Samoan roots and sharing a great Samoan proverb with us that helps us reconsider going too long in meetings and prepares us to step up when it is time to make a decision because as he reminds us: every leader must be prepared to make a decision. At the age of 13 (8th grade), Rock sat and passed a government high school entrance exam program designed to help Samoan school children to continue their education at a high school of their choice in New Zealand. His high school of choice was based on living arrangements with distant cousins/relatives willing to become Rock's guardian during his high school years in New Zealand. He graduated from Avondale College (High School) in 1989. Rock played rugby during and after high school with my aspiration to play professional rugby for the New Zealand All Blacks. At 22 years old, Rock chose to serve a two-year LDS Mission in the Hawaiian Islands, Nov. 1993 – Nov. 1995 and put aside his dream to play for the All Blacks. After his mission, Rock moved to Salt Lake City Utah, started school at Ensign College (formerly LDS Business College) January 1996. Here, Rock met his future wife Jennifer Ferrell. Rock graduated with an Associates June of 1998 and continued undergraduate and graduate programs at the University of Phoenix, and completing a MBA, December 2009. Rock's professional background has been in B2B Sales and eventually to high level and complex business development roles. Rock has been married to Jennifer for almost 27 years and they have four children: Hana (24), Connor (22), Nick (21), Ian (20). They live in Denham Springs, Louisiana. and are active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Learning from the All Blacks Podcast: Find out more about Blueberry Markets – Click Here Find out more about my Online Video Forex Course #477: Learning from the All Blacks In this video: 00:29 – I've been watching the New Zealand All Blacks train 01:14 – Trader getting burnt out 02:19 – Watch last week's video where I shared by trading day 03:03 – Do something that is proven 04:20 – The system makes life easier for the players 05:04 – Where you can find high quality training 05:25 – Looking for a good broker? 06:06 – Do you also like quality? I'm going to talk about how you can train like the mighty New Zealand All Blacks and how you can be successful as a trader just like they are in world rugby. Let's talk about that a more right now. Hey there traders, it's Andrew Mitchem here at the Forex Trading Coach with video and podcast number 477. I've been watching the New Zealand All Blacks train I've just been with my youngest daughter, Amber, to watch the mighty New Zealand all Black team train here in Nelson. They did an open training session this morning where everybody could go along and watch their final training before next week. They head off to Japan for the start of their Northern Hemisphere winter tour over there and then over to Britain. And I think they're playing Scotland and Ireland and France and Wales. Great to see them, but from what I got out of it is to see how well oiled they are. A fantastic working machine that has proven success and also a machine that looks after the player welfare. So I'll come back to All Blacks shortly. Trader getting burnt out I received an email this week from a trader who's not a client over in the UK, and he was talking about burnout. And he was saying, Look, Andrew, why is it that you are still trading? What is it that you do differently to me, because I'm just getting exhausted. I'm burnt out. I'm that FOMO. He's getting FOMO, the fear of missing out. He's scared to leave charts, he's fearful that he's going to miss trades, all that type of stuff going on in his head. And I said to him, Look, well, before I can really help you, tell me how you are trading right now. And he came back and he said he's trading a mixture of five minute charts and news trading. So he is trading European mornings, he's trading the US time, he's looking for high impact news events. He's stressed about being there. When do you put a trade on? When do you take it off? Looking at five minute charts all the time. And so it's just constantly, it's like a hamster going round on a wheel, it's just never ending. Watch last week's video where I shared by trading day And I said to him, Well, first of all, go and have a look at my video from last week. If you haven't seen the video on podcast or listened to a video on podcast number 476. Last week, I shared with you a trading day when I traded just twice a day. And by the way, those trades did really well and I took you for a flight in my helicopter. So which would you rather be? Would you rather be just looking at your charts twice a day, taking trades and doing really well with low risk and low stress and doing things that you enjoy, or would you rather just sit there just, not quite 24 hours a day, but getting close. Like this guy in the UK. He's just sitting, just lethargic, just not getting out and doing stuff, and the trading's just taking over his life and it's becoming a nightmare. Watch last week's video where I shared by trading day So very easily, I was then able to suggest to him, he gets onto longer timeframe charts and gets a strategy that works, et cetera. That's proven and it continues to work, and it looks after you as a trader. So, I bring that them back to what I saw this morning with the All Blacks, you go in there, everything's set up, it's perfect. There's all the training guys, the gear, the cameras, the drones, the players turn up, they do their warmups,

"With discipline, people don't need rules"One of the best books I have read during the four years I have been recording this podcast is Legacy by James Kerr: about the strategies, attitudes and lessons that have enabled the New Zealand All Blacks to the most successful team in sporting history. In this episode James is talking about the power of giving people responsibility, and the example he starts off with is about a community in London ravaged by gang crime that managed to create a sense of purpose, belonging, teamwork and personal responsibility. He goes on to explain how taking personal responsibility in our own life - by doing the right thing on a difficult day and acknowledging that the habits we have is the life we live - can have a profound effect in all areas of life.**Follow/message me:Instagram https://www.instagram.com/simonmundie/Twitter https://twitter.com/simonmundieAnd for the 'Mundie on Monday' newsletter - featuring three of the best Life Lessons from three years and 200 of these conversations - head to simonmundie.com (where you can also drop me an email)Please do share this episode with anyone who may benefit, and rate and review wherever you get your podcasts. The story of the Donegal Man to first captain the New Zealand All Blacks
Today, we're heading to a mountainous island nation in the Pacific Ocean, with two main islands, the North and the South. A land of mammoth national parks, epic biodiversity, dynamic Māori culture and world-class adventure sports. One of the most popular destinations to be picked by my guests as top of their travel bucket list. It is of course, New Zealand.Today's episode is a bumper celeb guest double bill, representing both the North and the South Island, kicking off with the comedian, writer and actor Rose Matafeo, who grew up in Auckland on the North Island. Rose's critically acclaimed show Horndog won the award for Best Show at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, setting her on a trajectory to international stardom. Her sitcom, Starstruck, which she writes and stars in was commissioned by the BBC and HBO Max. Season One became the BBC's best performing new comedy of last year. Rose is particularly passionate about NZ's food and cultural scenes, and she shares her must dos, her must eats, and all her insider North Island knowledge, from its magnificent coasts and beaches, to geothermal wonders, sprawling farmlands and Māori rich culture. And then we head to the South Island, where we are joined by arguably the greatest rugby player of all time, Richie McCaw. Richie captained the New Zealand All Blacks for 15 years in the 00s and 10s to two world cup wins. He achieved an astonishing 148 caps, a record only just beaten and was named World player of the year 3 times. From wildlife to wineries, glacial valleys to star-filled skies, its no wonder the other-worldly mountainous South Island was the destination where the Lord of the Rings films were set. It's been Richie's home all of his life, and he shares his expert knowledge on the island he knows so well.Destination Recap:Rose MatafeoAuckland, North IslandAuckland Live, North IslandCivic Theatre, Auckland, North IslandThe Basement Theatre, Auckland, North IslandThe Classic Comedy Club, Auckland, North IslandPiha Beach, North IslandHerne Bay, North IslandPonsonby Food Court, Auckland, North Island K Road, Auckland, North IslandPeach Pit, K Road, Auckland, North Island Bestie Cafe, K Road, Auckland, North Island Mount Maunganui, North Island Rotoroa Island, North Island Waitomo Caves, North IslandTaranakiNew PlymouthWellington Te Papa gallery, Wellington Tanuki's Cave, AucklandRichie McCawKura, South Island Wānaka , South IslandCentral Otago, South Island Southern Alps, South IslandBay of Islands, North Island Terminal Lake, South Island Taranaki, New Plymouth, North Island Poor Knights Islands, North Island Stewart Island, South Island If you're ready to find out more about planning your trip to NZ, head to newzealand.com and check out your favourite travel magazines and newspaper travel sections, which have plenty of handy guides. And to hear future episodes as soon as they're released don't forget to hit subscribe or “follow” on your podcast app of choice. To find out who's joining me on next week's episode, come and follow me on Instagram, I'm @hollyrubenstein - I'd love to hear from you. The misconception about “maintaining” and how the All Blacks get Stronger in Season. The New Zealand All Blacks have unparalleled international success and have long been the dominant force in the sport of Rugby. Dr. Nic Gill is the longtime Head Strength and Conditioning Coach who has helped keep the All Blacks at peak performance for well over a decade. When not keeping up with the team's ludicrous international travel schedule, Coach Gill competes annually in triathlons (5x qualifier for Kona), works as the Associate Professor in Human Performance at the University of Waikato, and farms Avocados in his native New Zealand. In today's show Coach Gill explains the challenges of the team's uniquely demanding travel schedule. His approach to battling jet lag, assessing player needs, the importance of recovery and the mindset that has helped the All Blacks persevere during difficult stretches across time zones. He talks in season training and how his athletes not just maintain, but continue to improve over the course of the season. Coach Gill explains the importance of frequency and why the Squat has remained a staple of his programming. The need for unilateral work and thes role it plays in injury prevention and performance. Lastly he discusses the importance of positivity in recovery and his best piece of advice for an athlete who is attempting their first endurance race.
