GOSH Podcast survey:https://ubc.ca1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9vJ2Jt3Mr6OPJBk Welcome to the first episode marking the 4th season of the GOSH podcast! We are excited to share with you more fascinating discussions with researchers and physicians, and inspiring patient stories. Today we have the founders of Down there aware(or DTA in short) podcast which was launched in 2020 to propagate a real and relevant discussion about women's health. Meet Alex Massey who with her mother Mary co-founded and host Down there aware podcast. Alex was born and raised in Florida and currently resides in the capitol city, Tallahassee, with her perfect pooch, Sadie Mae. At the age of 32, she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Her journey with gynecologic cancer motivated her to become an Women's Health advocate and encourage women to be aware of their bodies and become their own best health advocate. Meet Alex's mom, Mary Massey is the co-founder of DTA and a retired, career teacher. She began her career as a music teacher and, after earning masters and doctoral degrees, she wrapped up her teaching career as a college professor, training future teachers. Having experienced several serious, and some unusual, medical issues, personally, and through her family members, Mary has developed a keen interest in all things medical, researching and delving deeply into causes, treatments, and outcomes of various health issues. Her incentive to become involved in DTA was to support Alex after her cancer diagnosis and to help inform, educate, and advocate for other young women. Brandie has a family that is full of animal lovers. She has always wanted land, and the farm setting with a variety of animals. Several years ago she came across a mini-pig breeder she had bought her pet Muscovy Ducks from. From that day on she began researching and learning about mini-pigs and the care and lifestyle involved in being a pig owner. Brandie has had Sadie for 2.5 years and she is by far the best pet she has ever owned. She says she could not imagine her family life the same without her. The first thing she did was research. She tried to find as much information as she possibly could about pet pigs before she even got Sadie Mae. She tells us about what life with Sadie is like and what has helped them to be successful pig owners. She also tells us what challenges she has faced with Sadie and what they do to make sure that Sadie always remembers her place in the family. Sadie Mae is a woodworker, DIYer, maker, wife and fur mama. It all started when she tagged along with a friend to go get some barn wood. She ended up buying some wood herself and making her first dining room table. This was during a time where she left a job that had become exhausting and was looking to see what she would do next. She started making more pieces for herself and for others. Eventually she started a blog and learned about how to make money as a content creator which includes making and selling plans for her projects. Today you’ll hear my conversation with Jessie Artigue, she is literally one of my podcasting heros. It was an absolute honor to have the opportunity to chat with this lady! Let me give you a little bit of context; Jessie lives in sunny Long Beach, California with her husband Gerard and their puppy dog, Sadie Mae. You guys may know this gorgeous lady from her hilariously entertaining podcast Marriage is Funny which she co-hosts alongside her husband. And most recently she’s branched out as the solo host of The Perfect Wife podcast (which I’ve currently already binge listened to)???? She’s a style expert by trade and spent former years as a professional journalist. In this episode she shares [for the first time ever] the NEW exciting project she’s been working on, to be launched in 2017! You can find out more about both podcast shows at theperfectwife.me and meetthepeppers.com. Oddly enough, I discovered the Marriage is Funny podcast through instagram, from a post from Jess Lively a while back. Like many people I binge listened to their episodes and found them SO relatable. I have to say that their show has brought up conversations between my husband and I , where I’ve honestly learned some things I never knew about […] The post LPP #10 A Glorious Season with Jessie Artigue appeared first on Liveng Proof.

*Thankfully, Gerard was ONLY sick when we recorded the intro for this one... Hang in there for the first few minutes, and you’ll be past the nasally voice in no time.* This week, we consider the opposing values of puppy cuddle time vs. perfectly clean sheets. Gerard gets excited about hopping back on stage to play the bass in a band, and The Peppers discuss pros and cons of pursuing distinctly separate hobbies. Share your feedback with us by leaving a review on iTunes and find out how you can support our mission of Great Love right over here! QUICK BITES: Listen to Episode 36 to find out why The Peppers are not currently sleeping in the same bed. Sadie Mae reminds us of Slinky Dog in the Toy Story movies… Family Halloween costume idea, perhaps? The fan we wish we had, and the fan we would NOT recommend are both proof of why we should ALWAYS listen to Cameron -- our friendly guy at the local Home Depot. The Santa Ana winds have us sweating during dinner, and we’re left daydreaming about an AC unit that fits on our super-old windows. Gerard’s concern with dog-hair splinters makes Jessie break down and agree he needs to wear his stylish Birkenstocks more often. Jessie realizes that she should take full advantage of the chance to shop for her faves at West Elm and CB2. In case you're curious about our favorite white sheets... (They're durable, affordable, made from organic cotton, and easy to order online!) We would do pretty much anything for our precious furry daughter… Find out why we aren’t parents by listening to Episode 40. A sneak peek at our cheap gray coverlet will give you a glimpse at why we don’t care when our dog jumps on it for a snuggle. Gerard gets schooled in the anatomy of a well-layered bed and then admits to one of his biggest fears that has us buying lint-rollers in bulk. Jessie busts out into song while Gerard hums the bass… And now we both need to beg your eardrums for forgiveness. Gerard gets excited about getting back up on stage to play his bass, and we both see the benefits of having distinctly separate hobbies... Listen to us chat about the benefits of having SHARED hobbies back in Episode 41. Jessie is attracted to Gerard in spite of his (adorable) chocolate-chip-cookie-gut, and admits that being married to a musician is certainly something that counts as a turn-on. TRIGGER QUESTIONS: Do you sleep with your pet(s) in the same bed? Have both partners always had the same preference about this decision? Can you come up with at least one way to encourage (or actually make it possible for) your spouse to pursue one of their own personal hobbies? What was one of the very first things that you can remember being attracted to about your sweetie pie?
Why rush in figuring it out? Nathan sits down with Celeste Adams of The Burger Bar and Sadie Mae's Mobile Boutique for the 81st episode of the Finding Asheville podcast. We chat about growing up in Asheville, N.C., why the service industry is a haven for those that can’t decide what is the optimal career is for them, why learning to follow through on commitment no matter what that commitment may be helps you later on in life especially in business, how a brainstorming session for possible business ventures lead to Sadie Mae’s Mobile Boutique, why saving the Burger Bar was so important for Asheville versus just starting over with a new concept, why owning a bar is not the optimal career people necessarily dream about when wanting to own a bar, and what may be next for The Burger Bar. This episode was mixed at Mojo Coworking at 60 North Market Street in Downtown Asheville.
