This week's episode talks about the one thing we all need to do and sometimes regretfully skip, taking a break. A Disney vacation is taxing. You walk tens of miles per day in heat that feels as though the Maleficent float is standing in the Slinky Dog queue with you. Taking a break will restore your sanity, keep you from swearing off all future travel to Disney and allow you to enjoy your time. So, where do Rob & Nick take a break? This week they'll count down their top five places they like to take a break on Disney property. Blake Clark is a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served as a first lieutenant in the United States Army with the 5th Infantry Division.[2][3] During his time in the army, Clark was also a member of the 101st Airborne Division known as the "Screaming Eagles." Blake has been cast in numerous Adam Sandler films including The Waterboy, Little Nicky, Mr. Deeds, Eight Crazy Nights, 50 First Dates, I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, Bedtime Stories, Grown Ups, and That's My Boy. He has also made guest appearances in numerous television series, including Home Improvement, Boy Meets World, The Jamie Foxx Show, The Drew Carey Show, Girl Meets World, and Community. He was also Fred the chauffeur in Remington Steele. Starting with Toy Story 3, Clark has voiced Slinky Dog in the Toy Story franchise, in place of his close friend Jim Varney, Slinky's original voice actor in the first two films, who died of lung cancer. When Toy Story 3 was still in production after Varney had died, Pixar searched for someone who sounded like Varney and fortunately found Clark, who "very much captures the essence and spirit of Slinky Dog's character. Blake is a very funny guy and still to date, has the longest applause break as a comic on the Tonight Show. (Johnny Carson era)
Ride like the wind, Bullseye! A little over 1 year after Jackie and Tyler hosted their Toy Story takeover episode, we're revisiting the franchise by reviewing a beloved sequel to the Pixar movie that started it all: Toy Story 2 (1999). After being kidnapped during a yard sale by a greedy toy salesman, Woody finds himself at the heart of a shady business deal that will send him and the other toys from his collection to a museum in Tokyo. It's up to Buzz, Rex, Hamm, Mr. Potato Head, and Slinky Dog to save the day and rescue Woody from his terrible fate. Along the way these toys learn about overcoming one's fears, what it truly means to belong somewhere, and the bittersweet beauty of childhood impermanence. Considering how massive the original movie was, do we feel that this sequel holds up? Or would we have preferred to just play the Buzz Lightyear video game and call it a day? Let's find out together!

Cage Match time. Abu the Monkey vs. Baloo the Bear. Slinky Dog vs. Bullseye. Flounder vs. Meeko. Timon vs. Pumba?! Such nerve-wrenching match-ups could happen in the 2021 edition of Old Millennials Remember Movies March Madness. Tyler and Angela work together to choose the BEST Disney Animation sidekick from the 80s, 90s and a pool of special "legacy" characters from older animation classics. The bracket: 32 characters across four categories: 1. Wild Animals. 2. Legends and Magic. 3. Pets, People and Early Pixar (3Ps) and 4. Legacy Characters (think Tinkerbell and Jiminy Cricket). The Old Millennials must decide on ONE winner. Can anything stop Robin Williams as the Genie in "Aladdin," and how do you narrow down the juggernaut supporting characters in "Beauty and the Beast," "The Little Mermaid" and "The Lion King"? Does it matter if a character gets to sing a song? And why is everyone undervaluing Kronk from 'The Emperor's New Groove"? Patrick Warburton might just be a sleeper here, as is an upstart 8-seed from "101 Dalmatians." Also in this episode, Tyler and Angela discuss the Snyder cut of "Justice League, plus Tyler runs down his favorite movies from this year's South by Southwest (SXSW) virtual film festival. Movies discussed in this episode (outside of the bracket) Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021) The Fallout (2021) - SXSW Ninjababy (2021) - SXSW Introducing, Selma Blair (2021) - SXSW The Sparks Brothers (2021) - SXSW Alien on Stage (2021) - SXSW Language Lessons (2021) - SXSW Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil (2021) - SXSW More March Madness bracket action from Old Millennials Remember Movies: 2020 March Madness of Old Millennials-era Sports Movies - ep 72

*Thankfully, Gerard was ONLY sick when we recorded the intro for this one... Hang in there for the first few minutes, and you’ll be past the nasally voice in no time.* This week, we consider the opposing values of puppy cuddle time vs. perfectly clean sheets. Gerard gets excited about hopping back on stage to play the bass in a band, and The Peppers discuss pros and cons of pursuing distinctly separate hobbies. Share your feedback with us by leaving a review on iTunes and find out how you can support our mission of Great Love right over here! QUICK BITES: Listen to Episode 36 to find out why The Peppers are not currently sleeping in the same bed. Sadie Mae reminds us of Slinky Dog in the Toy Story movies… Family Halloween costume idea, perhaps? The fan we wish we had, and the fan we would NOT recommend are both proof of why we should ALWAYS listen to Cameron -- our friendly guy at the local Home Depot. The Santa Ana winds have us sweating during dinner, and we’re left daydreaming about an AC unit that fits on our super-old windows. Gerard’s concern with dog-hair splinters makes Jessie break down and agree he needs to wear his stylish Birkenstocks more often. Jessie realizes that she should take full advantage of the chance to shop for her faves at West Elm and CB2. In case you're curious about our favorite white sheets... (They're durable, affordable, made from organic cotton, and easy to order online!) We would do pretty much anything for our precious furry daughter… Find out why we aren’t parents by listening to Episode 40. A sneak peek at our cheap gray coverlet will give you a glimpse at why we don’t care when our dog jumps on it for a snuggle. Gerard gets schooled in the anatomy of a well-layered bed and then admits to one of his biggest fears that has us buying lint-rollers in bulk. Jessie busts out into song while Gerard hums the bass… And now we both need to beg your eardrums for forgiveness. Gerard gets excited about getting back up on stage to play his bass, and we both see the benefits of having distinctly separate hobbies... Listen to us chat about the benefits of having SHARED hobbies back in Episode 41. Jessie is attracted to Gerard in spite of his (adorable) chocolate-chip-cookie-gut, and admits that being married to a musician is certainly something that counts as a turn-on. TRIGGER QUESTIONS: Do you sleep with your pet(s) in the same bed? Have both partners always had the same preference about this decision? Can you come up with at least one way to encourage (or actually make it possible for) your spouse to pursue one of their own personal hobbies? What was one of the very first things that you can remember being attracted to about your sweetie pie?
"Toy Story." - Wind the frog and acquire more monkeys! It’s time for us to discuss the very first computer-animated feature film, 1995’s “Toy Story.” We ponder the rules of when toys can reveal themselves to people, question the physics of the Pizza Planet claw, and speak in defense of Sid (but not of Randy Newman). Also: Is this the end of Slinky Dog? Host Jason Snell with John Siracusa, Merlin Mann, Andy Ihnatko, Steve Lutz and David J. Loehr.
