Kallos also shares how his Jewish faith guides him both in these unique times and as a community leader. It's a convention double-header on today's episode of AHI! After "con"-quering both Special Edition: NYC and Eternal Con (Episodes 15 & 16), Adrian set his sights on Northeast Comic-Con and Too Many Games, returning to New Jersey with two geek-tastic interviews: The first interview features Vivek J. Tiwary, a #1 New York Times bestselling author and Tony Award-winning Broadway producer. We all know the story of the "Fab Four," but what about the person who discovered them? Vivek provides listeners with the incredible back story detailed in the acclaimed graphic novel The Fifth Beatle: The Brian Epstein Story. The second interview features programmer and indie game developer Rick Kelly, the founder of Underbyte Studios. Rick has been a programmer since youth and has taken his lumps, eventually landing a dream job working for The Elder Scrolls Online before starting his own company. His flagship game, Heroes Guard: The Journal, is an interactive fiction/role-playing game where the player is truly in charge of their destiny.

Billy Z, Bryan and Justin are joined by guest bear and fan of the show Steve Mowry! Steve and Bryan recently attended HeroesCon where Bryan presented a panel about gay characters with Los Brothers Hernandez (Love and Rockets), Terry Moore (Strangers in Paradise, Echo, Rachel Rising) and Kate Leth (Kate or Die!, Bravest Warriors). Bryan covers how the panel was put together and how it went down coupled with other con stories from Bryan and Steve. Billy Z was also in attendance at the inaugural Special Edition NYC from Reed Pop as well as the latest AnimeNext convention. In keeping with the subject matter of the latter, all four bears offer their recommendations of anime and manga that they like. They round it out with a small splash of current comics talk and, best of all, we got hate mail!!!
We're post celebrating that VODKA O'CLOCK has published over 100 episodes over the last couple of years. The 100th post was one of the panel recordings at the Special Edition NYC convention. A couple of weeks ago Mike left behind the comforts of our subterranian recording studio and made his way to Special Edition: NYC. Feeling the need to have a more comics focused event, the folks behind New York Comic Con decided to start the summer off with what was essentially an Artist Alley extravaganza. Top flight creators set up shop alongside retailers and a subdued publisher presence for a show that felt like a convention from yesterday. Greg was preparing for the following weekend's Heroes Con and couldn't make it to the show, but fear not! Mike wrangled fellow Multiversity cohorts (Multiversians?) Brian Salvatore and James Johnston into an impromptu floor conversation! Robots From Tomorrow is a weekly comics podcast recorded deep beneath the Earth's surface. You can subscribe to it via iTunes or through the RSS feed at RobotsFromTomorrow.com. You can also follow Mike and Greg on Twitter. Enjoy your funny books.
There's no "official" topic for this week's show but seeing as Bob and Steve took the time to interview some amazing folks at Special Edition NYCC, we include some of their interviews that they got a chance to record while at the show. There's the Lightning Round to get to before interviews and the books discussed are: Rai, Rachel Rising, Velvet, The Mind's Arrow Archer Coe & The Thousand Natural Shocks, Spirits: The Soul Collector, Shutter, All-New X-Men, Morella and the Murders in the Rue Morgue, Avengers, Nightcrawler, All-New Invaders, She-Hulk, Captain Marvel, and Lumberjanes. Then there's Books of the Week and these are on the list: X-Men: No More Humans, The Girl With All The Gifts, Figment, Wars in Toyland, Mighty Avengers, Batgirl, and The Empty Man.
